Connection adapter WMP54G problems for router WRT310N

I just bought a new router (WRT310N) and now I have a problem connecting my Wireless PCI adapt (WMP54G) of my basement count to this router. The light on the adapter is turned off. I use Windows XP on my basement computer. When I right click on the connection wireless network and go to 'View available wireless networks' I see my home network listed. This is a secure (WPA) wireless network. When I click on to connect to the network, I have to type the network key, what I'm doing. Then he said "Please wait while windows connects to the ' * 'network, wait for the network..." ». After that, it tries to connect for about 2 minutes she stop trying and I am not always connected to the network. No one knows what might be wrong. Yet once the required to the WMP54G card account does not shine.

Figured it out. Had to update the driver for the card WMP54G.

    Hello

Turn off the router and the Modem - wait 3 minutes and reverse. Restart the computer.

Your router could be suspicious here, you have successfully updated its firmware as a possible solution? And I would like to
Update your WiFi drivers on computers. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
    obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon. Use a wire or download drivers
on another computer and use removable media to transfer to your system.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

    Hi Muzzy,

The link to the winsock corruption was helpful - the symptoms were bad for my problem, but searching on the support site, I found these two similar problem reports (I did not find earlier because I had not looked for to Ping General Failure):

  • New modem, new problem for router E1200

I replaced my broken with a new 3360 such Motorola modem recommended by my ISP.  The new works modem connected directly to my PC.  When the connection from the modem to the router Cisco E1200, the same one I had with the older modem, the E1200 says that I am not connected to the computer.  I have triple checked the wire connections of the modem to the router and then to the PC.  I swapped the cables and checked that they work all when it is used directly from the modem to the computer.  I think that some parameters of the old modem Westell are messing around with the new router E1200 connectivity.  I'm not a computer expert so please explain in simple terms.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Zee29...   You get an A + for your quick response and help.  It worked like a charm.  After holding the button reset for a total of thirty seconds and then unplug for 30 seconds, I used the original disc of Cisco and he went through the correct installation.  Thanks again.  David.

  • Game WGA600N adapter used to connect to the router WRT310N but not now.

I have a game WGA600N adapter that connected perfectly to a WRT310N router. Has worked for 2 months. Then one night while being connected via the adapter for games, connection has been lost. I was unable to reconnect since. I have reset the router and adapter of game (full reset) and still not connecting. I thought that it could be the signal, but I put the adapter for games about 3 to 4 feet of the router and it still not connect. In addition, when you browse the installer on the adapter for games I can see my network SSID only one part of the time. In this case the weather in normal or next to the router as location mentioned above. Whenever I go through installation and network appears, I continue through the process, but I get an "unable to connect" alternation and the message "network found" that opens. By clicking 'next' never connects to the network. As stated, it worked fine for 2 months before this problem. I thought it was the router and replaced it with the same type and not luck. I must also stress that I was able to connect to an old WRT54GS router without problem. I also tried to connect wireless to the router WRT310N with another PC and had no luck in the connection... However he also finds and connects to the WRT54GS router without a hitch. I am lost at this point.

As you have arelady set up your WAG600N with WRT54GS router and it worked perfectly well. Then I think the problem lies on WRT310N router. Maybe your game adapter and computers are not connect to your wireless network. You must change some settings in your wireless router. Follow this steps on your router and I think this will make your adapter games work perfectly well.

  • connection problems router WRT310N and wrt54gs * with DSL

Until I can return to my apartment and after IPconfig etc. returns I wanted to see if anyone has had the following problem.

I had a home wireless network set up with a wrt54gs v 5... I think it was BOM.

A few days ago I tried to get the network key for the new smartphone and my roommate kind of stupidly locked myself and disconnected my phone then my Office Wireless adapted. passing through the standard power recycles and resets all him remains disconnected in the apartment as well.

I have DSL through verizon, a toshiba satellite a135 with vista installed, all updates of drivers, and a westell 6100 dsl modem provided by my phone company.

    highlights include:

    (1) two nights now troubleshooting and browsing the forum. I have already exhausted simple corrections of linksys on his questions and help section.

    (2) new router, I wanted anyway a new and estimated that he was the problem. So I bought a wrt310N, hung, and he now obtained, there no longer updated set of firmware

    (3) internet connection is fine when I connect to my laptop directly to a dsl modem.

router 4) implements the home network wireless very well, but with no internet connectivity

    (5) computer wired to the modem connects to the internet. wired computer for router modem does not connect to the internet. with two routers. If it connects not wired and wireless won't be better.

I'm getting a little tired and tired, not to mention, I didn't my XBOX live fix to remove the stress of working in a military office all day lol

everything seems to work until the router tries to connect to my dsl provider, at least as far as I can tell.

and I'll be on the phone/forums with my ISP as well to make sure that I am not he mess up simply forgetting to fill in an optional field with info mandatory lol.

    so... help?

still, when I go home for lunch I'll post information and specifications of real hardware if someone a little more savvy I know what to ask.

Any ideas on where I'm wrong now?

    Fixed issue...

in the end, it's a problem between the ISP's modem and the router that they helped me understand.

My DSL service had changed their service, so TRP was no longer how they did the connections. Automatic DHCP was the current form. Following configurations of router DSL online provided inaccurate information. I didn't have the time to check with the ISP until yesterday afternoon when I was finally able to make a phone call and clarify things.

We put the modem into bridge mode, checked some settings on the router, and then everything is back up now.

  • Nook Color ereader & connectivity problems with router WRT610N

I recently bought a new Nook color ereader for my wife. As long as a network administrator, I thought that this would be an easy task to configure the ereader to connect with my Linksys WRT610N router on the 2.4 Ghz band. But I'm running problems when connecting. The question seems to have intermittent connection problems where the meals seem to see the wireless network, authenicates, tries to get an IP address, then connects for a short period or removes the signal very quickly while being right on top of the router with the device.

By the recommendations of various forums of Nook, I had the best luck with the following...

    2.4 Ghz band settings

    SSID: NookNetwork

    Channel width: 20 GHZ

    Standard channel: 9

    SSID Broadcast: enabled

    Security mode: WPA2 Personal

    Encryption: AES

    Passphrase: set out

    Key renewal: 3600

    UPNP: disabled

    RTS: default

    Defragmentation: default

    Tag: default

However, the problem still resides in an intermittent connection to the wireless network. I also tried various arrangements of the channel to both channels 1, 6 and 11 with my best cponnecting chance to channel 9. I also played with the security and disabled all together and have plugged but always file (will not however run the unsecured network). Also try a tag value of 75, a framework of fragmentation of 2306 and 2307 RTS setting. My computer laptop while run and connect properly.

I use the latest software updated both on the color of the corner. I am at the end and have searched high and low to get suggestions, and have not yet reached a compatible connection. Please help... Thank you! And my wife thank you in advance! Smiles!

I have problems with connectivity issues with my wireless router. I have a Verizon DSL modem which is wired to a Windows XP computer and the wireless router. I have a total of 3 computers wireless (1 Office XP wireless, 1 laptop Vista) and XP wireless laptop 1. For these last months, I had intermittent connection dropping issues. I tried to change the channel on the parameters 9-05:49 wireless and so on and so forth, but the only channels that work for a while are 9 and 11, but I still feel the droppings of connection. It's very frustrating and confusing especiall since the signal strength of connection seems to be good to excellent. There are moments when (very little) when the connection works very well, but 90% of the time I can't go on the internet or connect to my VPN for the job.  Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

  • WIFI problem, Toshiba Satellite A665 internet connection. Lately when I try to connect to the internet, for the first minute or so it says "no internet connection".

    Hi all

I had problems with my Toshiba Satellite A665 to internet connection. Lately when I try to connect to the internet, for the first minute or so it says 'No internet connection' (or something similar). Basically, he has the yellow warning triangle. Sometimes I can open the browser and search normally, but other times - and this happens more often it won't let me use my browser. When I have not fix the problem, he said that the DNS server is not responding. The problem is this same error happens all. unique. time. and the other computers in the House connect to the internet just fine. I called TWC and what I get on their part, it is "there no reported outages in your area. Useful, right? Tends to be gnawed by the use of Netflix and Hulu Plus, but this has never kept internet bandwidth to work in the past. What is going on? I'm so tired of having to go all the way down the stairs to reset the router every hour (on a good day) to get the computer to connect to the internet.
I contacted Toshiba and they say that all the drivers on your computer are up to date and nothing is broken. I have also not downloaded or installed anything on my computer.

If the reset of the router fixes the problem you should probably watch that as the culprit. Check the software/firmware for the router and see if you can borrow to someone router to test.

    I hope this helps.

How can I connect my Tablet cruz for my connection to the internet the computer

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing. I will certainly help the question of fixing.

To help you suggest several steps to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:

    1. What is the model of the Cruz tablet number?

    2. How do you access Internet for your computer? It is through a wired connection or wireless?

    Follow the steps below:

    a. connect a network cable to the tablet computer if the Tablet has a network card. High-speed modems have an output connection to which you connect the network cable and then connect it to a computer or router.

    b. display wireless networks in network settings options. Select a wireless network, and then click on connect. In the areas of Wi - Fi hotspot, you may need to open a Web page to accept the terms of the license before plugging in.

    c. sign to a computer network or a network mobile broadband. Some tablet computers have connections to data network integrated such as the type that personal digital assistants (PDAS) and the use of cell phones. You need to register for an account with the provider of service associated with the integrated network. Alternatively, you can sign up for broadband wireless services and to access broadband that plugs into a USB port with an adapter.

  • Need help with the error of connection Internet "Reset local connection adapter".

Original title: Need help with Internet connection.

Hi, sometimes when I go to my office (HP 2009 m) I get a message that I am not connected to the internet (although I have no problem with the connection on my IPad).  When I click on solve internet connection Windows Network Diagnostics freezes when it gets to solve problems "the local connection adapter reset."   I have to turn off my computer by unplugging and then it works normally when she returns to the top. (Sorry if my explanation is difficult to decipher, I'm not very tech savvy) This could be the cause and how to fix it?  Thanks in advance.

Well, I expected more of a response, but I'll wing it from here: your cable goes into a modem.  This modem can be a wireless modem/router, or simply a modem cable to your computer.

Connection problem you might start by connecting the cable into the modem.  Ensure that it is well defined.  If everything looks good, then it is possible that there is a decline in cable service before he gets to the modem.  For example, the interface side of the House can be affected by a bad connection, for example water intrusion, or poor soil.  So you may want to check into that.  Then, there is always the possibility that your cable provider has lost his momentaily of transmission, and that the modem needs to be reset.  If this happens often, you must contact the cable provider.

Modem, your computer can be connected by cable, so you will need to check how firmly the connection is.  Then, there is always the possibility that the modem is wrong.

But if your connection is through a wireless modem/router, your connection may have lost because of a bad signal.  Once more..., the modem/router could go wrong.

    Edit has added:

Looking back on what you said about the Ipad, I feel that you have a wireless modem/router.  It is possible that your connection to the desktop must be after you have used the Ipad.  For example, you may need to right-click on the monitor icon in the Systray to your desktop and open your network sharing Center.  Even if you can say that you are connected to the Internet, you may not.  Then... just ... simplement cliquer click on 'connect or disconnect', then find your network connection appropriate, right click on that and select disconnect, then immediately right-click the same but select Connect.

Will be a new connection to the Internet.
