Connection between the monitor and the Studio 1458 laptop seems broken

After happily using my Dell Studio 1458 for a little over a year, all of a sudden my laptop screen went completely blank (not black, but a sort of grey empty) when I started yesterday. I have reset several times, I let it run and I heard the sounds of standard Windows startup. Since I assumed the laptop worked again very well, and I plugged an external monitor. I am now using the laptop with this external monitor and everything except the monitor to the laptop works very well.

I can still go to "change screen resolution" and see the laptop screen correctly detected by Windows. I can turn it on by selecting "extend these screens. I can also change the screen resolution on the laptop screen. It's the same kind of gray white whatever I do. Of all this I conclude, there is nothing wrong with the drivers: the more likely culprit seems to be the link between the laptop and the screen of the laptop. Unfortunately I ran out of warranty three weeks ago so I don't know what are my options here. I started to disassemble the laptop to see if maybe I could plug a cable loose once more, but I got cold feet at halfway when I remembered that I had saved not properly all my files.

Any ideas on how should I proceed?

This would mean it's time to start trying new parts - cable first.  If that does nothing, try a new inverter (if the screen is CCFL).  If it's backlit by LEDS, try a new screen.

    Nothing works (the mobile web access so I know it is related also).

    Are there other things I can try before I have to go through the hassle of reinstalling the printer?  I hope there is an easier difficulty.

    And, if I have to reinstall it, I have to write it?

    I fixed it.  I unplugged the router and the modem, plugged them back in and click on the reset button on the router and the laptop and printer now talk to each other once more.

    There is a problem with this laptop.  Before even I had a wireless printer, I have everything reset completely to the laptop if there is a power failure (but not to the modem in stanby mode).

    My second question is always true since I have to reinstall Windows 7.  Once that I have reinstall the printer do I need to re-register it?

    Hello byron.lewis, many site problems can be caused by corrupted cookies or cache. To try to solve these problems, the first step is to clear cookies and cache.
    Note: This will be you temporarily disconnect all sites, you're connected to.

    You need a crossover cable. This cable is designed for a direct connection between two units. The cable is cheap and you can find it in every store in PC.

  • DeskJet 6940: ethernet connection between the new modem and printer does not transmit Mac

    I just installed a new modem to Qwest; It works wirelessly with my iMac 10.11. My old (but functional until yesterday) Deskjet 6940 is connected to the modem via Ethernet. When I try to print, the document seems to be transmitted to the printer, but then it hangs on and I get the message "the printer is not connected" - which it is, plugged, ethernetted, and set in motion. Support of Qwest says that only 10% of the info from the computer are the printer, but he seems to think that the part of the new modem Ethernet is functional,

    I have already tried all unplug/restart/send/add printer new check/updates / IP (cannot connect) / ethernet ports and cables, etc.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    It is good that the printer has been able to print a diagnostic page.

    Ensure that the router and firewall on the market do not block these ports.

    Ports of printing:

    • UDP ports: 427, 137, 161
    • TCP port: 9100

    Card photo upload:

    • UDP ports: 137, 138, 427
    • TCP port: 139

    The HP device status:

    • UDP port: 161

    Ports of Web Services:

    • UDP and TCP: 80, 443, 5222 and 5223

    Hello Ports:

    • TCP and UDP: 5353 and 5297, 5298

    Unplug the wired network (ethernet cable), restore the default values on the printer.

    Restore the default settings.

    Follow these steps to reset the printer to factory default settings:

    1. check that the printer is on.

    2. press and hold down the button to report Page.

    3 while holding down three times the homepage button, press the Cancel button.

    4. release the report Page button.

    I have a master project and four sub-projects that all reside in a flat directory; in other words, the main project folder and all subproject files are at the same directory level. Can I combine the projects very well, but when I try to add a hyperlink to a topic in the main project of a subject in one of the subprojects, the link disappears when I compile the main project.

    I searched for the answer adobe and found a page describing the 'link between merged WebHelp projects', but the instructions say to put the files from subproject in the main project directory. I keep a set of available test only projects for practical things on without breaking my work today and tried it. I could not create merged using this method in all projects the. The link of the merged project appears in the table of contents, but when I met the main project and seen the results. merged projects appeared.

    Any ideas on how I can combine projects * and * create hyperlinks between the master and subprojects? Thank you.

    Ok. It worked, and I didn't have to change the structure of Active Directory or create a master project that is devoid of content. Basically, my project composed of five projects... a master project and four projects that are merged into the hand. All project files are on the same level of directory.

    The key to creating a hyperlink between a subject in a project and a topic in another project is in the table of contents:

    Type the text in the topic you want to turn it into a link
    Derivative of this text
    By clicking on the hyperlink icon in the toolbar
    Next to the link, click on the arrow down and select Remote topic in the menu
    Navigate to the project's CHM file you want and double click it.
    If you get a notification dialog box indicating that the files of theme with spaces may cause remote subject links do not work, click OK (in the future, I will have to create the topic filenames without spaces)
    In the select a remote topic dialog box, select the name of the topic you want to link to, click OK and click OK again.

    I know this is fairly elementary to most of you, but I thought that document my steps might help someone like me who is facing the same situation.

    I have trouble getting the network connectivity between two Windows 7 computers using a guest only network virtual in VMware Player.  Each virtual machine is able to get a (unique) IP address via dhcp and can ping itself and the bridge, but could not reach the other system.  I looked on my host computer adapter VMnet1 in Wireshark and saw incoming icmp packets in, but nothing is returned new.  My vmnetdhcp.conf file is unchanged with the exception to add a line to set the default gateway on my guests.  It was an attempt to solve this problem, and the same behavior was observed before changing anything.  Here are the details for this network segment:

    My hypothesis is that you cannot stop Studio. Change areas 8 and 9 of this line (after saving the .script file) and restart Studio and sign in again. My assumption is that you can replace this line with something like:
