Connection Clip Zip to CD player

Can I connect a Clip of Sansa Zip to a CD/DVD drive, or a speaker to play in a room?

As long as you have (or can find) a cable with plugs appropriate to both ends, a 1/8 "plug (or 3.5 mm) for making helmet on the Zip and whatever your speaker (s) or any other device takes." Note your CD/DVD player or any other device must have an outlet to AUX IN or a way to capture the signal.

  • Sansa Clip Zip battery does not charge, goes directly to the screen of the song

It's my third Sansa MP3 players.  The first was a Sansa Fuze with the round button.  Like that one but my husband needed more that I did it I gave it to him.  He is old, but the player is still so today.

The second was a Sansa Fuze + with the touchpad.  The touchpad has been way too sensitive but I need to play only two songs for sleep therapy while I was fine with it until the battery suddenly stopped charging a few months ago, I posted my problems in the Sansa Fuze + forum.  After trying a few suggestions, I finally accepted that he was a Goner.

I bought this Sansa Clip Zip 4 G, thinking that should last at least for a while because I use every day.  In fact, I needed only when I had disorders of sleep during the night;  I probably used it once every two weeks or more.  I used my cell phone to the device, had no problems until now.

The last time that I loaded it was 2 weeks, to 98% full - the thing never indicated 100% while it was a little weird.  In any case, I had problems sleeping two nights ago so I took out the Clip Zip and noticed that the battery still had plenty of juice left.  This morning I checked the battery, he had 68%, but I thought I needed could again tonight so better it load up, just in case where.

I connected it to my computer, but it did not show "connected" screen  Instead, he went straight to the last song I listened to.  I thought it was weird so I turned off the player then tried again.  Of course, he went directly to the screen of the song.  I noticed that the battery icon was showing 'filler '.  I thought that if I left it connected to the pc long enough IT would eventually deducted.  Two hours later, I checked the computer and it says that the drive battery was dangerously low.  I disconnected and then reconnected and this time he said 98% charged.  I loaded a bit more just in case so I used the player for about 15 minutes and the player turns off.  Plugged into the pc and now it says battery is extremely low, while the last hours do not charge the battery, but it drains pretty!

My last attempt was to plug into a wall charger and guess what?  He went directly to the screen of the song once again.  Contrary to connect to the computer, I could actually turn off the player but this way does not charge the battery, or.   It's exactly the same problem as my second player, the Sansa Fuze +.

I bought the last two players from Sansa, simply because I really liked the first which of course had been abandoned a long time ago.  I don't know if I have bad luck or it is just an issue joint Sansa players but one way or the other I don't buy any Sansa more in the future.  He is a big name that comes with the big disappointment!

You can also try a reset by pressing and hold the power button for 20-30 seconds. Release it and then turn it on normally and see how it behaves.

By your description of the message "dangerously low" you get then plug it into your computer, which tells me that you use MTP mode on the player (or default automatic default, MTP). MTP mode can be pretty weird; better to use MSC mode unless you have need to PSG for "protected" content or DRM files such as Rhapsody or audio in your library or Audible books. The small "crirically" message is a bug in Windows 7 (using MTP mode) that Microsoft did not consider important enough to fix.

  • SANDISK Sansa Clip Zip not recognized by WIN 8

My SANDISK Sansa Clip Zip MP3 player is not recognized by my WIN 8 machine when I connect it via USB.  It works fine on my other machine WIN 8.  Technical support SANDISK told me that the MTP drivers are missing or corrupted.  How do I find, download and install these drivers from the Microsoft site?  Is it also possible to copy these out of the installation of WIN 8 disk I have?

OK, so I found that this worked for me on win. 8

1st: hit 'Windows key' 'X', then click on Device Manager.

2nd: once it go to Universal Serial Bus Controllers, find "USB Mass Storage Device".

3rd: hit search and edit the material (something like that)

4th: there are 2 categories, the first to find the driver automatically, and the second looking for your pc.

5th: click on the first then wait it should work and then it will say that it is recognized and you can sync your Media Player!

I hope this has helped! :)

  • Freezing on the transfer of your media: Clip Zip +.

    Hi all

Recently bought a Clip Zip + after hearing good reputation and my previous disappearance of mp3 player with high expectations.  Unfortunately, I have a very frustrating problem that a Frost comes to transfer your media stage (it happens about 10% and stops) must perform a reset to turn off (I tried reset several times but nothing helped).

Later, I contacted support directly who suggested that the necessary firmware update - got the file stored in the drive... its possible that its in the wrong place I don't really understand the term root file.

Aplogies if I have not included adequate information or clarity. I would be really grateful if someone could shed some light on my problem

The "directory" is where you open your player in Windows Explorer (preferably in MSC mode) and see the folders music, Playlists, sports, audio books, records, etc. and a few files. This is your root directory (or top). Manually, do drag & drop (or copy & paste) the decompressed .bin (firmware) file here, but not in files; Target just a blank space, and release your mouse button.

That said however, I don't think it's your problem. I guess it is somewhere with one (or more) of your files. Try to send a little more at the time, up card and see if they transfer OK. When he hung up again, you know that your child problem lies in this band.

Let us know if you have other problems.

  • card not detected in Clip Zip uSD

Hi all, I have a new Clip Zip and I have a uSD 8 and 16 GB card.  When you insert the card in the reader, I am able to get in shape, but the storage does not seem to be available.  The main software Sansa only deteects 4 GB on the drive.  When I right click the external card in file Explorer, its listed as 0GO.  Is there something that I need to enable so that cards can be used in the drive?  Trying to drag and drop files on the external card, it is said that there is not enough room.

Not sure that microUSB cards operate differently, no?  Sometimes we hear counterfeit cards, acting like that.

You could try reformatting the cards with the help of trainer of the SD Association - which is sometimes useful tool.

    https://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter_3/

Other things to try, if you have not yet:

-Before anything else, a reset of the reader (hold the switch down for 15-20 seconds approximately).

-A new application of the firmware of the player (easy to do) - it might have become corrupted.  See the sticky thread upgrade the firmware at the top of the forum.

If all goes well, one or the other will work, and is not a defective card reader.  But if it is, contact the vendor for a replacement, or contact SanDisk similarly.   1-866-SanDisk (726-3475) 08:00 - 19: 00 PST, m..

  • Play OGG tracks, freezes my Sansa Clip Zip

    Hello

I tried that twice add files ogg to my card 32 Gb microSDHC SanDisk Ultra that I use with my Sansa Clip Zip, and the two times my player froze when he tried to play.

I simply copy/paste ogg files, so I did not use any software to manage the upload. When I download mp3, I usually use the Winamp player.

Ogg files are soundtrack of games shipped with my purchase on www.gog.com.

I do something wrong when I download ogg files? Music plays without problem in VLC media player.

    Thank you.

The Ogg decoder in the sandisk firmware is pretty buggy and really inefficient power. I talked to them years sending a few corrections (they use the standard decoder open source, just a version older and without much optimization), but who worked all the time, they stopped really about adding new things never happened. If you use multiple Ogg files, you should probably watch using Rockbox. I think the battery life is 2 or 3 times longer due to optimizations, and compatibility is much better.

  • Wall charger for Clip Zip

Does anyone have a recommendation for a wall charger for a Clip Zip?

Do not buy cheap generic Chargers if, especially since real Motorola, Blackberry or Nokia chargers can be purchased on Amazon for less $5. A generic charger may damage your player. Many people already have a charger with a usb microphone supplied with their cell phone tip. That would be fine also to load the Zip Clip. Just to be sure, check that it is said on the 5 volt charger. Almost all mobile phone chargers are 450ma or higher.

  • Clip Zip unrecognized w / my Nav unit car

I loaded Rhapsody music and my own in my Clip Zip *.mp3 files.  I want to connect it to my car via the USB port Navigation Unit to listen to my music here.  However, my car Nav unit says no detected USB device.  I connected the other mp3 players, like the Coby MP 601, or just a USB flash drive - and they all work very well.   Anyone has any ideas of the problem?    My Nav unit is the Kenwood DNX5120.   Thank you!

"I changed the mode of meteorological service of the Canada, and he now recognizes the unit (does not say"No. USB Device"more)!  However, it now says "No. Media File" on my Nav unit.  He cannot find the *.mp3 files.  When I look at the structure of the files on my Windows PC to SanDisk, I accidentally left the MSC mode.  What I found in it was folders for Albums, audio books, music, etc., and all were empty!   This is the reason why it says no media file. »

The songs that you have loaded the Rhapsody were loaded in MTP mode.  They are not visible (even if they take up space) when the Clip is in MSC mode, your unit of Nav or your PC.

"When I changed the mode to return to the fashion of the MTP (or Auto), the root folder says"Internal memory".  Below this are the subdirectories of different Albums, audio books, music, etc. and all my *.mp3 (Rhapsody and non-Rhapsody) found. »

Yep, that's how Windows displays a device MTP ('internal memory').  If you have a microSD card in the video, you would also see "external memory".  (If you were in MSC mode, the two different types of memory are present with two different drive letters.)

"Could sync the Zip Clip in MSC mode instead?  It would be great! »

I think that your Rhapsody music needs to be synchronized in MTP mode, because it is a music of the subscription.  PSG has this extra "oomph" that allows to control the subscription of your music... Rhapsody lets you keep playing on your video as long as you keep paying Rhapsody.  The songs themselves contain DRM (Google it) data forming part of the subscription process.

"If so, all the music from Rhapsody, I loaded in PMT cannot coexist with those of MSC?

They can only co-exist in the sense that they may be submitted on your Clip at the same time, but only one or the other is visible/playable at any time, depending on the configuration of the MTP/MSC.  This would be the case for any music you load on your Clip (for example, MP3s without subscription bought on Amazon), although there is no need to charge without subscription music on your Clip in MTP mode (even if it is possible).

  • Clip Zip ignores certain songs and blocks computer when disconnected

OK, I tried to find a solution to my problem but I've not seen everything that has been resolved or the same problem, I have.  I use a Windows 7 desktop computer and have a 4 GB Clip Zip purple.  My main problem is that the music I downloaded from eMusic and transferred through Windows Media Player. The songs will sometimes play on the Zip Clip.  I say sometimes because random entire albums or a song or two in an album will not play.  These are your Mbit/s MP3 files average 4-5 MB, 192, with no DRM.  Has anyone identified a solution?  I reformatted, reinstalled the firmware and done everything short of reformat the songs into something else.

In addition, from time to time if I disconnect the zip clip this computer freezes and I have to do a hard reboot.  Has anyone else encountered this problem?  I have to tell Windows to eject?

No worries, glad you got it running.  Sometimes, Windows Media Player may have problems with transfers.  Fortunately, it is not too often.  Use the MSC mode, you have the somplete of transfer control, and the device is seen by the computer as a mass storage device.  As long as your files have incorporated album covers, the Zip will use these images and everything will be fine.

MTP mode is a 'virtual' layer on MSC, where the player is addressed as a media device.  As a result, a lot of things is automated in the background.  Album art is sent to a special 'albums' folder and other information, such as sure clock and device Clip Zip ID are available for DRM purposes (multimedia protected) if necessary.  Oh, playlisting with .pla format lists is also possible - these lists are not specific to the path as MSC, which means that even if the file is located on the microSD card and records is not serious.

Windows Media Player is happy with two modes, by the way.

With the Zip Clip, the USB controller manages only one mode at a time to access.  It is probably the fancy that causes more confusion.  If you transfer a file in a mode, then go to the other, the files that you have transferred to the other mode will be not visible from the computer, even if the Zip Clip itself can see both.  For this reason, we recommend that people choose a mode and stick with it, so that you can access all of the computer.

Oh, one final thought-Yes, you can simply drag and drop your music files in the music folder, and the player will locate based on the ID3 tags (album / artist / genre / song).  For podcasts or audio books, you can drag the files in these folders, giving you additional functions for these files (elapsed time, the playback speed).

  • Try to connect my Sony PVR/DTT player to my Qosmio G40

I'm trying to connect my Sony PVR/DTT player to my Qosmio G40 laptop via windows media player.
Once I have a picture on the S-Vidoe option in the set up TV signal and select next it say s it can not find the IR control cable and does not allow me to complete the whole upward.

What looks like the cable and where can I get a?. Thanks for your help.

Do you mean the control cable infrared?
AFAIK the G40 comes with different parts.
One of the parties should be the infrared emitter cable.

    It should looks like this:
    [transmitter infrared cable. | http://cache3.smarthome.com/images/8170s_n.jpg]

It is necessary if the decoders are no longer responds to IR commands sent from Media Center or if the laptop running MCE does not support the IR transmitter.

  • Looking for guidance, Clip Zip or Clip +.

My beloved clip zip just died.  I thought to replace it with the new sport clip, but a check of the forums told me it would be disappointing to at least.  I use my zip primarily audio books and have an extensive library of books on several chips for my Zip.  As I wanted to replace the Zip file, I discovered that it seems to be abandoned.  I can find a little but they are twice what I paid initially for mine and if Sansa is not making more...  Anyway, it also seems the Clip + is still in production.  Can someone tell me, the Clip will be + play chips I put in place for the Zip.  That what I lose in the way?  You recommend staying with the Zip for as long as I can get a new one to last?  I started with a simple clip and improved because of the chip.  Albumn art and color are not important to me, but with success to listening to audio books without editing each track is.  I'm looking for advice from my fellow lovers of Zip.  Thank you

That's the beautiful thing about the microSD - can exchange cards in and out, including between the actors (including the Clip + and Clip Zip).

  • Am I duplicating music clip-zip when I download the entire file of MUSIC from Windows Media?

On my Zip Clip with a micro 32 card: using Windows Media, I downloaded my whole 'MUSIC' of the file to the device.   Now that I've added more music in my Windows Media MUSIC file, download the entire file again for "updating" of new music, than i've got, or will I be duplicating what was there before?

It seems terribly painful to have to selectively add new music, checking back & comes to see what is already uploaded on the Clip-Zip.

If you use the 'sync' feature in WMP, it will add only what is new or changed in your music on your computer folder. Note that this method is a double-edged sword; It will also remove all the files that you may have removed the record music from your computer. This is not a good thing.
