  OK, I have a lot of knowledge about computer and please I need the Bios update but not windows based.
  I need BIOS update traditional back!

  The reason I want this is because blue screening in windows that I changed the HARD drive always even.
  I changed the memory and checked the fans always the same.
  I even tried to install XP using xp manual not restore disk using the sata drivers downloaded always the same.
  So now I know 100% if I managed to get the back of the bios download that this problem will be solved.

  Unfortunately, Toshiba doesn't provide updates of the traditional BIOS. Only the win versions are available on the page.

  By the way; Why are you 100% sure that the BIOS update would solve this problem?
  BSOD problems are mainly related to the hardware malfunction or software problems.
  Usually, you should recovery the Qosmio with the restore CD provided. If the BSOD will appear during installation or immediately after installation, then the hardware problems are possible

  I bought a VGA HDMI cable plugged into my TV and my lappy and nothing, my brother on the other hand taken his laptop in via it built in hdmi port there and the image appears immediately.

  I ve never used this type of connection. Why use the HDMI port on TV when the laptop VGA port is for video signal only. You won't get better quality photo. Your TV has a VGA port?

  I need help to understand what happened with my laptop G30-161

  The last time I tried to reinstall the product recovery things was wrong.
  The time where computer supposed to install windows then a blue display screen and stops the process and I get a black screen where there are three choices: start windows normally, or with the command prompt or networking safe mode.
  When I tried safe mode: I get a message that windows is not yet installed!

  When choose ok then the windows install see the screed for a few seconds and then the blue screen appears and disappears a few seconds and the windows on the screen appears as if the system will be installed, and after a few seconds, I get the same - back screen with the choice of the tree again.

  I tried several times to use the product recovery disc and enter in the same circle.

  Are you sure you have booted from the recovery disk?
  This seems strange to me that you get the back same screen (start windows normally, or with the command prompt or networking safe mode) when you start drive recovery.
  These three options are displayed only if the laptop would be started from HARD drive.
  So please try to boot from the CD again.
  Insert the CD, turn on the unit, press F12, choose ODD as a source of start-up and follow the instructions on the screen.

  If this is not possible, then I would recommend the HARD drive.
  I recommend Drive Fitness Test. This software freeware s (google).

  Perhaps something went wrong with the HARD drive.

  I just bought a G30-102 and I am trying to use it with an external display via the HDMI connection. The problem I have is that the native resolution of 1920 x 1200 cut the edges of the screen and the quality looks terrible - its almost as if the entire screen is enlarged. I tried with a BenQ FP241wz initially (1080i is 1920 x 1200) and the Toshiba helpline could not find a solution either - even after painfully reinstall all the drivers, etc..

  Its been going on for so long, I thought I'd try it out with my HDTV instead, just to be sure it wasn't a monitor problem. So I tried with my Toshiba 32WLT66 - and come to find that it has exactly the same problem.

  All the display settings appear to be correct and the G30 is convinced that the result is correct, so I have now it is - don't you think not that this is a problem with my HDMI port?

  Please help, I'm a designer, and it is essential that I use the machine on a large screen. If it is a hardware of the G30 problem, I need to talk to Toshiba immediately replace or fixing.

  Hmm, in some cases the BIOS contains an HDMI output option.
  In your case, I recommend to check this.
  I have not very well if this available but it s m of a value in a control.

  But usually the Fn + F5 should work as described in the user manual... did you check that?

  I would rename the entry 'PC' to allow the TV HDMI mode "pc" to correct a blurred text.
  I don't see any option to do this, use the menu system.

  Otherwise, how can I turn on the TV in the mode "PC"?

  I can confirm that I tried different HDMI cables and the blurry text only occurs via HDMI on 2 different computers.

  It seems that the HDMI connection can be switched in PC mode.
  PC mode is available only for the VGA input.

  Please take a look at page 28

  For switching source PC, press the "SOURCE" on your remote and select the PC input. You can also use the Source menu to switch to PC mode.
  Note that PC mode menu settings are only available when the TV is in the source PC.

  But if you have connected the PC to the HDMI port and the image is not clear enough, I recommend you to change the level of sharpness in the image menu.

  So I'm back again with the solution that has helped so I hope it will help other users. I did an update of the BIOS, graphics card and HD Audio. The only thing that really helped was the driver / software update, I did it on the sound by updating the drivers and s/w them have downloaded directly from the Realtek Site. SO I hope this hepls someone else in the same situation.

  I tried to connect my Qosmio to a TV via a SVGA cable. I tried to connect it to my series 6 Samsung LCD, but the mode is not supported (? help?) and then I tried with my Proline TV, he receives the signal and says (XGA 1024 X 786) but remains black.

  I'm using Nvidia digital display but still nothing. I tried to change the resolution, but nothing happens.

  P.S. two HD ready and the Samsung TVs is 1080 p HD

  I have connected my laptop via HDMI cable to the Full HD Plasma TV and it works perfectly. Try to shut down your computer, then connect your cable to your TV and then turn on your laptop.

  Have you tried using a different cable DVI or HDMI? And what do you mean by cable SVGA? I know that the S-VHS and a VGA cable.

  A S-VHS or S-video called, too, it is important that you use a cable with the alignment of the right stem.

  It is not possible to set the HDMI output as default screen! This works only with VGA output. There is no option in the BIOS. According to support, Toshiba will plan any action for this useful feature.

  I use an external TFT with HDMI adapter DVI Cable and I want to have as default screen TFT. With VGA, it will work without problems.
  Any solution?

  Very interesting question! In my view, HDMI port is to be used with the HD ready LCD TVs or plasma. Combination of connection HDMI and HD DVD movies, you can really have a HD on your TV picture quality.

  As you know the port is a standard VGA port to connect external displays. The image quality is very good and, in my opinion, you should not use HDMI port for the same. Do you perhaps the best image quality?

  I've had this laptop for about a year and for a large part of which I had no idea what was HDMI. Then my old TV died and I had to get a new one. In order to have my Qosmio I assumed (stupidly) - after all, it is a (relatively) new piece of equipment and has the HDDVD. I bought the new TV, got the cables and low and this is where should be the connection HDMI was nothing.

  There is another connection that I thought was HDMI but isn't. I am able to connect to the TV using my d-connection cable SCART. But of course how a true HD signal. I can't seem to find out and a call to the support of Tosh line me anywhere we know?

  Y at - he had a special adapter/cable which can connect in this regard ' HDMI? If this is not the case, how can I can a HDMI Signal on my TV from the phone.

  The Qosmio G30-117 model was not delivered with the HD-DVD drive, but only with the player double layer DVD Super-Multi drive (+ R) and so this laptop does not support HDMI port but only digital device on the port (d-connector).
  The other G30 with HD-DVD has been bundled with HDMI port.

  A component-D to HDMI adapter is unknown to me. But why you want to connect the HDMI laptop if the laptop does not support HD-DVD player?
