It was so simple

Things to do if you are having problems with linksys smart wifi access service:

  • Make sure that your router has the latest firmware.
  • Reset and power cycle the router
  • Make sure you have a stable internet connection with your modem
  • Try different browsers and if possible, try another computer
  • Clear the cache of the browser, history and cookies, or if possible, reset the browser back to the default settings.

  • How to connect to the HP Officejet 6500 wireless printer

I recently bought the printer portable officejet 6500 from costco. Initially, I have it connected via a USB port on my laptop and follow the instructions in the CD. I also activated the wireless to the printer. Now, I'm trying to connect to the printer from my office laptop. I have not installed anything on my office laptop. I went into Control Panel, printers and tried to add this printer. I'm assuming that, given that the printer is already selected for the wireless, I thought that I'll be able to see that when I add a printer. When I tried to add the printer its asking me a URL. I tried to get the printer Network Setup page portable officejet 6500, but the URL does not work. I need to install the CD that came with the printer portable officejet 6500 on my offcelaptop to make it work? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

@hanleyn, I'd be happy to help you with this problem.

You will need to go to your settings of the printer.

    1. Select network settings.

    2. Select the wireless configuration wizard

After perform you these steps, you need to get on the computer and to update the IP address. (It would occur on the printer on the Network Configuration Page).

    Then go to the computer.

    1. click on Start Menu

    2. Select all programs

    3 select the HP folder

    4. Select the name of the computer

    5. click on the IP ADDRESS UPDATE or wireless configuration.

    6. put the new ip address in the place.

  • Mac & HP 6500 A Lion won't be a connection wireless, tho Mac & airless 6500 Fund

I set up my MacBook pro with Lion and downloaded the update OS X 10.7 HP through the software update from Apple, through a referral from another thread on this forum.  After you have configured my Officejet 6500 E710n z, the wireless network Test report said "No problems found" and the wireless on the front of the printer icon is lit.  My Mac (Preferences > network >) shows "Wi - Fi connected" to our Wi - Fi access.  It prints very well with the ethernet cable.  However when I try to print with Airprint/free Wi-Fi, a message appears with "printer is off-line, printer is not connected."  IMac OS X 10.6.8 wife prints very well with this same printer wireless.  We have activated the "printer sharing" on our system.

I searched this forum for a few hours and did not find it.  Sorry if I missed it.

    Appreciate any help.

    Hello world

I found where my problem was.  Default printer installation has chosen its model number for the driver.  That did not work.  I found the solution by going to System Preferences > print & scan > Options & supplies > driver > print using.  I changed the selection of pilot for the specific model HP (HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z) number "Airprint printer" in the menu drop-down "with the help of Print."   Works like a dream now.

Hope it useful if someone else can't get their Mac with Lion to recognize a Wi - Fi printer.

  • Wireless connection to my HP Officejet 6500 709 has

I have a HP Officejet 6500 709 a.  I want to move it to a location that is not in close proximaty to my modem.  My printer has a wireless radio?  Must be connected directly to the modem?  I have a wireless network in my house, but the only way I can get my printer online is to connect directly to the PC I want to print from.  I'm doing something wrong?

One option, I examined is locate a Repeater for wireless near my printer and connect directly to the printer.  I'm not even sure that will work, and that you don't want to go through the expense if it is not necessary.

I have not heard about the use of carrier current adapters, but it is possible to make it work if it offers a stable connection to your network (some services offer a no stable connection as hot Mobile). I have no personal experience with the help of this technology, but what I understand, it should work in conjunction with your router to similarly as it connecting via Ethernet directly.

{edit} After doing further research on this adapter I could find more information. The device works just like using an Ethernet connection (and for all purposes useful, this is one), but sends the signal through your houses of power lines to the other adapter. This should provide a stable connetion due to the structure of basic features and how they work.

If you try, let me know if I can pass that information along!

  • I have Mozilla Ffox on a Dell Vostro Desktop computer, connected to a HP-Officejet 6500. The printer prints internal drive, but don't print Web sites. The printer ejects only a single sheet of blank paper.

The version of Firefox 4.0.1 and Windows 7 operating system are
    correctly identified below.
Still, my printer prints not websites, including Yahoo mail. The printer seems to respond to Web sites, but only ejects a single sheet of blank paper when printing is initialized.

Just to be sure, everything is covered:

    1. Reset you all the preferences of print.printer , as indicated in brackets in step 2, who were in "BOLD", not only print.print_printer preference?
    2. You you exit Firefox (Firefox button > exit OR file > exit, if you use the Menu bar), and then wait a few seconds and restart Firefox before testing the change according to step 4?
    3. I have a HP 6200 series. Don't forget, if yours is a multifunction printer that you have NOT enabled the fax (i.e., "HP Officejet 6200 series" NOT 'HP Officejet 6200 series fax') in the name field of the printer on the screenshot (CTRL + P).

    Hello

You can choose one of the following 2 options:

Option 1: simila in the image above

Connect the printer to the router,

Connect a PC to the router (not wireless computer)

    Option 2:

Connect a PC to the router (not wireless computer)

Connect the printer to the wireless router

Option 1 makes the computer without a connection to the printer. For the other two computer is the same on the two configuration options.

Please use the following book to configure things

  • Cisco 6500 - WCCP - high CPU

I'm setting up a stand-alone WAE-7341 engine content ACNS used to webcaching only.

When I activate the redirect l2 and l2-back on the WAE I get high CPU on my Cisco 6504-E with WS-SUP32-GE-3 b-WS-F6K-PFC3B. The 6500 status of wccp as L2 for redirection and return and webcache work but this CPU spikes at 70%.

If I remove the redirect l2 and l2-back on the WAE, WCCP on the registers of 6500 WILL redirect and return on the 6500 and CPU falls to 5%.

If I activate the option "wccp webcache accelerated" on the 6500, I can't WCCP upward with or without back l2 and l2-redirection on the WAE options, it displays:

    Hi all..

I had this problem for a while now, but now its got to the point where I can't scan anything now or the other.

If I try to click on the HP Solution Center, all I get is a popup saying "error analysis in the file c:\program files (x 86) \hp\digital imaging\bin\hpqscloc\1033.xml.

I had a link to the screen so that I could use my scanner, but now it will not work, and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling every driver HP & file I can find, but I'm not getting anywhere.  Any ideas?

IM using a laptop Toshiba Satellite C660D-1 and can connect to my HP Officejet 6500 has more (E710 n) by usb and wireless network.

IM using 64 bit Win 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, with an AMD E - 450 APU Radeon HD Graphics and 6 GB of ram.

Its a cell phone works, so reformatting wouldn't the best solution, even if it's as well as I would have originally been.

    Hi DavRao

Thanks for the answer... Sorry that I won't be back for you so far, I ended up going out on the road all week.

I had already seen the advice below on the first page I've found in research to help, but I forgot to mention that I had already tried.

I have a drive and downloaded another copy of my drivers, but at no time I found L4uninstall.exe

Also, I do not consider the L1, L2 and L3 uninstall that I've seen mentioned previously...

I found the uninslaller on the HP Web sites, and runing it me have once step 1, a second round was stage 2, stage 3, stage 4.

By now, I got desperate and tried everything I thought that could help to remove all traces of services in msconfig, uninstall everything related to HP, I even backed up and then deleted (in desperation) and the entered boot records of HP.

Nothing helps. Uninstall would start to remove the drivers, but just before it finished every time, it would start to recede and that should give up then.

I ran a system restore to before you start tweaking options, etc, just so that everything was back to normal, but still does not...

Then downloaded and installed "Iobit Advanced Uninstaller" (100% free to use)

    http://www.iobit.com/advanceduninstaller.php

This allows to uninstall all references of HP and its first rotation used the regular unilstall sequence and didn't, but then he gave me the choice of force uninstall...

He gave me options of backup/backup so that if things went wrong, it could be cancelled... and it all uninstalled... Then authorized registry references and a set much more that I never would have found manually.

After that restart 99% of HP had disappeared...  I then used CCleaner (100% free to use)

    http://www.Piriform.com/CCleaner

It cleaned all the cookies for leftovers, abandoned the entries in registry etc...

    I was on the moon...

HP full software downloaded again, just to be sure, I got later and he ran...

It was the same version that I had often tried to install above all that I had been unable to remove, but this time, the options and the stadiums were completely different, it was as if my laptop had never seen a HP printer before and has been learning new.

Installed perfectly, (with all updates and shopping addons unchecked)

My scanner now works on the whish network wireless its NEVER done in almost 2 years.

All the drivers are up to date, where as before, I often saw up to 10 versions of my printer all the tag errors, even if the printer would work for basic operations...

IM happy now IM 100% healed...

All this thanks to 2 bits of free software that I am now keeping the hand on lol...

Hope this helps someone else with similar issues

  • HP6500 wireless printer

Last year, I bought an all in one HP 6500 printer with wireless capability. I didn't need the feature wireless at the time for my desktop wireless of not so I just wired it. I just bought a HP dv7-4065dx3 laptop that has a built in wireless capability. My ADSL modem is a 2wire which has 4 ports and router combined with it. A new laptop wireless and everything which works very well.

How can I get the printer hung so he can speak my laptop wireless via Wi - Fi connection and always use it direct connect on the desktop. I'll have to put a wireless card in the desk top or can I just leave it hard cable? The printer manual implies it can be hung one way or the other, but does not really my topic specifically.

    You have more intelligent ideas?

Well, it was not difficult, and now the computer laptop dv7 4065dx have connected wireless to the Officejet 6500 E709n.Had temporarily connect a USB cable to install the sw and initialize the printer. Then at the end of the dialog box, it says when to disconnect and gave me the ability to send a test page. Super!

Since my office is not wireless I reconnected it the USB cable and it works too,

Cannot take the credit, I found the instructions on the HP site on printers. I not save address but should be able to find by searching. I used the newly downloaded driver who really is a complete suite of sw for the HP printer. Big file allow so time to let it uninstall the old sw and load the new. The name of the file is optimize setup 1031.exe ver 1.0.0.0 and is 191 MB... Good hunting.

PS: Another interesting feature of the program is installed, it is that, at the end of the installation, it asked if I wanted to connect to the wireless printer. Since I didn'dt to basket any return upstairs to the printer, he let put this feature on hold and placed an icon on the desktop as a reminder to add the wireless printer. More complete sw, I've had for a while. Thanks HP!

  • HP Officejet 6500 a more impossible to connect to the server

My HP Officejet 6500 a more printer was connected to my wireless network and was attached to the ePrint service; and I had an email address to send prints to my printer. But today, when I go to the ePrint, it shows that my printer is NOT connected to the SERVER!

He invites me to go to the Setup menu option / Services Web Setup / email address Panel on the printer display. And, when I do that, it shows me: "you can connect the printer to the itenrnet through a proxy server and touch the ENTER PROXY button! I do not know what Proxy Server, he is asked? And when I get soemthing, it then asks a PORT number! Still, I don't know what is the Port! My printer is still connected to my home wireless network.

Then I went back to HP ePrintCenter page and REMOVED my printer and then tried to ADD a printer, but, now, he asks me to "enter the printing Code.

When I tried to enter the print code I had on the file, it says that the code was not valid; the codes are ONLY good for 24 hours, and I have to get a new printing code to return to the configuration of the printer menu steps described above!

Looks like I'm stuck in a vicious circle.

I would appreciate your help. Thank you.

To correct the unable to connect to a web server error. I'd start by power cycling the router and the printer. If still we get the error that I will then try to put a static DNS server built-in web printer (EWS).

    To power cycle the router:

    1. unplug the router (most do not have a power button) and then put
the printer off using the power button
    2. wait 30 seconds
3 plug in the router, wait until it is completely upward and the operation.
    4 turn on printer
    5. after the printer is completely top and operational reattempt to connect to web services

If after that, you still get the error message, I had put the static DNS. To do this:
1 get the IP address of the printer, and then make a browser (IE, Chrome, any browser you want) and enter
IP address of the printer in the address bar. This will bring up the SEWS
    2. search for the network titled tab and click on it
    3. then click on IPv4 in the left column, wired / wireless depend on the connection, if connected by Ethernet
    Choose wired, wireless select wireless
    4. when loading this page watch the second part entitled 'Configuration of the DNS addresses' change this radio
Manual button and change the DNS preferred manual to 8.8.8.8 and manual to auxiliary DNS
8.8.4.4 and then click on apply.
    5. pay particular attention the following screen which appears this message usually is a way to undo changes only
made by clicking on the OK"" button. Avoid this by clicking another tab
or just leave it until you close it.
6 turn the printer of the cycle and then turn it back on
    7. once the printer is back on and retry operation, activate web
services and reprint information page so that you can get a new code and add your printer back to ePrint Center. You will need to create a new e-mail address for the printer.
