connection problem with my wired network:

My multimedia PC running Vista (SP2) and is connected (wired) via a switch, and powerline Gigabit connection directly to my BT Home Hub. In the last month or two, I noticed a problem that when the PC starts it does not connect to the internet. If I open the network folder, I gives me the message that, because I'm connected to multiple networks, I can't connect to the internet. If I open the folder 'show all networks' it completely shows a connection to the Local network, but the connection seems to be two network - home and just describing it as 'unidentified network '.

If I then turn off the adapter and re-enable it, it will connect to the correct home network and so to the internet without any difficulty, but every time I restart the PC I have the same problem.

The reason for which mmediate why it's a nuisance is that I can not receive Windows updates, because the update is disabled at startup if no internet connection is present and cannot (I think?) be restarted by restarting the PC (cue endless loop according to the above).

So my question is how to remove this 'unidentified network' if ever it shows up as a separate in a list. I prefer not having to try to reinstall the whole damn OS, but am at my wits end otherwise!

When you have changed the Norton, have you used this tool to remove it?

Just give it a try and see if it helps.

  • I have a problem with the wireless network card.

    Hello

I use a laptop Medion MIM 2210 and I have a problem with my wireless network adapter.

I get a message before Windows 7 starts telling me that there is problem with a wireless driver. The exact message says:

    "Intel UNDI, PXE - Z.0 (build 082)

    Copyright (C) 1997,1998,1999 Intel Corporation

VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter v2.43 (2005/12/15)

PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of

"PXE - MOF: exit Inel PXE ROM.

This message appears every time you start and I don't know what he means by "Media Test Failure".

I turned on my laptop today and noticed I had no internet connection, it showed that it connected but with yellow '!' symbol indicating that it was not fully connected. He did this for a while now and I have reinstalled Windows, in safe mode and I tried to delete the drivers and re - install, but it hangs right on uninstall what makes me angry no the case.

Of course now, I tried to look for help my internet connection is running but the message is still there. Can someone tell me what to do or how to solve this problem, I am standing now on what to do. I was also on the drivers Medion website but it is impossible to navigate around and drivers without end there'e to choose. I would consider ringing them and asking them if they were not located in Germany as it would cost me a bomb! I did just now searching online via the Device Manager to see if he can find an update for the drivers but nothing came.

Thanks for any help that anyone can offer :)

The message is to be cause the BIOS looking for boot from LAN (not wireless) before it starts and then from the hard drive. The Media test failure is because to boot from LAN it tests to see if the wired Ethernet is connected, it is not if it generates the error message.

Enter the BIOS press F2 after initial power on but before the Logo Windows shows

Integrated devices should allow you to set the settings of wired network adapter. According to the BIOS it is either "enabled with PXE" or have another option to enable or disable the boot ROM

In the boot options the LAN card should be removed altogether.

This message is ONLY applicable to the transfer of the BIOS boot process and should have no impact on the problems of WiFi (it is not on WiFi)

  • Error message: a problem with your wireless network card

Hello, I get this message as shown below: any ideas how to solve this problem? A problem with your wireless network card

Your wireless card has stopped working properly.

There is a network adapter that allows your computer to connect to a wireless network.

To find out if a version update of your wireless network card is available, contact the manufacturer of your device or computer.

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/laptop > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

The computer you are using now if you have an Internet connection with the other > download / save drivers > copy them into Flash Drive > transfer / install on another computer/laptop.

    Hello

Thre are 2 things that are likely

    the video card

    (b) the screen itself

To check this, simply connect the laptop to an external monitor (from a friend, parent,...) If nothing wrong with the external monitor, which means that the screen of the laptop is faulty, if the video card is faulty. I don't know the cost but I charge $640 plus a party; Sometiomes my recommendation is to buy a new machine.

  • Internet connection with a wired network card Gigabit speed limit

Can you reach 150 speed Mbps Internet connection on a computer running Win XP SP3 and IE8 with the help of the Gigabit wired network adapter?
What kind of drivers are required in such a case?
Currently, I have 150 Mbps of connection, and what I get according to the speed tests is of the order of 60 Mbps with pings of 30 to 60 ms.
My troubled wired adapter is TP-LINK Model: TG-3269-based Realtek RTL-8169SC chipset and its driver: rtnicxp.sys, v.5.649.0615.2006 (WinDDK) provided by Realtek

The fact that your Ethernet card is theoretically capable of 1000 Mbps does not mean that everything in the path between your computer and the fiber cable (which is what your ISP based his spec 'speed' on) is capable of the same way.

    For example:

    • What type of cable you are using between the computer and the modem/router... and how long is it?  You did the cable yourself or did you buy it with the connectors already attached?  You must at least Cat 5 cable and attach the connectors yourself is not recommended, unless you have a good amount of experience doing.
    • What brand/model/version of your modem/router?  It has the latest firmware installed?

You have a second computer that also has a Gigabit network?  If so, check the transfer speed of A computer through the router to computer B (i.e. What is the transfer speed of your LAN, completely apart from the speed of transfer between you and your ISP).  Use a stopwatch and a large file or use a utility such as LAN Speed Test.

What TG-3269 version do you have?  The current one is V3.

Assuming you have v.3, you appear not to have the latest version of the driver (though I doubt that's the problem).  The package labeled TG-3269_XP_beta a 5.719.0325.2009 XP driver version.  http://www.TP-link.com/en/support/download/?model=TG-3269&version=v3#tbl_a
Finally, you may want to think about your connection setting, what is most important for XP and later versions of Windows: http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks and http://www.psc.edu/index.php/networking/641-tcp-tune

  • Problem with wireless - Vista Network and Sharing Center does not recognize my connection!

I use the Home Visa software and my network and sharing Center does not recognize my connection but I can access the internet without any problem. Previously, I was using a wireless router Linksys with an old box of AT & T internet with no problems. The problems started after I updated my AT & T internet box that made obsolete the linksys router and now the network share does not connect. I just have the problem of getting the network and sharing device recognizing that I am actually connected to a wireless network. I can't use my printer or share files with other people. I can't get my wireless printer to work if I restart my computer and I have the documents I want printed already sent to the printer. My network and sharing Center also works very well for a few seconds when I start my computer then it turns off again.

  • Persistent problems with wireless home network

Hi, the problem started two weeks or more ago, when after the connection to the internet easily using our wireless network connection, my computer began to say that our domestic network was unidentified, then studied by troubleshooting my self but do not really understand the information the computer indicated to me. As it was a problem of the internet I contacted our local provider broadband, they looked like the line and the service was absolutely perfect and to confirm this router computer of my father in the same cable network has internet connection easily as it was my mom who was using the connection via the same router wireless cell phone.
Following the instructions of technitians I have tried to manually enter internet addresses to see if that would help the internet connection, it did. So I thought that the problem has been resolved. I had the use of the internet that day and everything was fine until I restarted the next morning. The problem reappeared. So I called my internet provider again, this time I'm sorry to say to a girl rather too quickly diagnosed that I had a virus to uninstall Google chrome and reinstall a different browser... That didn't make sense to me, but I tried some sort.  So I moved my office tower and all the bits in one place in the House were we could conect it to the router with an ethernet cable followed his instructions then moved the computer to its original position but still no internet connection and still this problem 'identification '. I turned off the machine and tried again the next day. Start by running the troubleshooting of network problems, this time I looked at the detailed report which curiously stated that the computer had difficulty oscillating between two somethings (sorry don't remember the detail correctly is days ago)
So I called my internet provider again and I am a helpful young man, read him the information and examined the reports that they had written about the problem in the days preceding. I followed his instructions looked in the network sharing Center, settings changed and added in manual codes for the internet, turn off the router for 10 seconds or more and then restarted, this time with not even a temporary success. We tried a few things but I always got the same contradictory message in the dialog box in the lower right corner, where it showed I was connected to the local network not connected to the internet, when I opened the network sharing Center from the local network to the router would show that 'Identification' and the conection to the internet would be marked with a cross. I managed to pass my network profile is for some reason any defined to the public rather that home and we were able to change it (even if it wasn't easy)
So I was told it was probably a driver issue, I was told I might need check the updates of my license on this operation the technitian and I also saw the site of netgear, that there was a potential conflict between Kaspersky and the netgear driver, so I need to uninstall my Kaspersky anti-virus stuff and the old pilot , down load and install the new drivers and then reinstall kaspersky. I followed it. (Movement of the tower and all the bits in place in the House were the ethernet cable was available).  I found an updated driver, uninstalled downloaded kaspersky and run only the driver installed Kaspersky again. Everything seemed to go well and I even plugged in the wireless adapter connected to the internet through that and disconnected the cable... things were going well.
So I turned off the machine and carried over into my room where I turned on once again. The problem reoccured. I thought it was time to communicate with kaspersky. So I turned the computer off and reduced to the ethernet cable. Connected a Kaspersky contacted by e-mail, they were quick and I was asked to run a program that logeed my information system. I did this and I told them I thought it might be a conflict between the driver and their softwear, they have looked into it, asking me to run a misuse of this program and the results by e-mail. Once again, I've followed the instructions and took notes, but no problem was found. They showed me how to configure my kaspersky firewall to allow access to the networks. It's when I was doing that I noticed that the computer had five ads of our home network, so I put all the profiles of their trust, apply changes and tested to see if it would work. On the wireless internet in the office where the ethernet cable and a router are by train, it's good, it works. I connected the wireless network and disonnect the ethernet then on the internet and there is no break in service. But if I shut down the computer and set up in my room at 12 meters, it won't work with signal strong (4 / 5 bars are green).

This morning I watched the windows firewall settings and changed some of them to see if that makes a difference. but none.

I'm trying hard to think about this problem but I'm getting nowhere fast, I know just enough. I just tried pluging in the wireless network adapter again, but there is no wireless network connection now and no internet connection:

After having tried downlaoding a new driver and this has not fixed the problem after having only tested the wireless signal is strong enough for good internet connection to my mother's computer in my room, I'm stuck. I looked on the netgear site and follow their advice, but it's really a night Mare!
I also noticed that somehow, we put in place five versions of our home network, I wonder if there is some confusion computer... I looked into the idea of the removal of the networks, and it seems that you can not do. I am trying to back up my files, uninstall everything and re - build my computer from scratch. If there is something else I should try before taking this message please drastic measures me ASAP.

  • Wusb54g v2 - problem with Linksys Wireless Network Monitor Software

I have a card Linksys USB wireless (WUSB54Gv2) that is currently used with an old HP Desktop running Windows XP Service Pack 3.

I also have a Linksys Wireless PCI Adpater (WMP54Gv4.1) that is currently used with an old Dell desktop running Windows XP.

I have a wired and wireless home network... My broadband provider is Verizon FIOS; I use their supplied router because the coaxial cable that provides the internet connection plugs only into their wireless router, not in a modem and a router. I have an encryption key for 128-bit WEP on the side of the network wireless; It is even once managed via the Verizon FIOS router via a web browser (like most routers).

Two other computers I own are a desk custom-made to date with a direct link to the Verizon router and a laptop from Apple. These two computers are NOT having internet connectivity problems.

I've updated to the latest drivers for my USB adapter and the car PCI.

    ---

    Here's my problem:

When I try to connect to the internet using the Wireless Network Monitor software provided by Linksys, computers, I can connect to the "access point", but not internet. This product only when I don't have the key WEP 128 bits in place, when security is disabled.

If I right click on the Wireless Network Monitor icon in the taskbar and select "Use Windows XP Wireless Configuration", enter my network through windows manually information (including the WEP key), I can connect to the internet perfectly.

However, when I restart or stop two PC, the Linksys Wireless Network Monitor reactive software itself, where it automatically attempts to connect to the internet, but fails, after which I right click on the icon of the monitor again and select «Use Windows XP...» "and then I connect to the internet.

Is anyway to disable the Linksys continuously monitor software WITHOUT uninstalling the software or drivers? (I tried this; Windows cannot use or recognize the network adapter).

    ---

I might just re - activate the Setup Wireless Windows XP every time I close / restart, but other users of PCs on my network (my family) are exceptionally illiterate computer/network and would not be able to learn how to do whenever they want to connect. There is very little practice.

If there is a way to solve this situation, please help! If all goes well there are other solutions I am open to suggestions.

I must emphasize that our Apple laptop connects fine when the WEP key is set.

Once more, looking for quick help!

    Thank you advance!

Remove the Linksys adapter and uninstall the Linksys software menu programs... Re - install drivers insert the CD of Linksys install in your CD-ROM drive, when the welcome is displayed click on exit, connect your USB adapter now... When the Hardware Update Wizard window appears, click on install the software automatically (recommended) and then click Next... Click Finish when the installation is complete.

NOTE: The hardware installation screen may appear indicating that the adapter has failed the Windows Logo test. Ignore the window and click on continue to continue the installation because the adapter has been tested and it works with Windows XP. When Windows has finished installing the driver, click Finish.

Click Start and open the control panel and double-click on network connections. Right click on wireless network connection, and then select view available wireless networks "-If you see your network wireless in the list, the highlight by clicking 'single' on it now, click on the 'Connect' button below-if your wireless network is secured, it asks you to provide the network key - provide the wireless network key and confirm again in the confirmation box and click 'Connect'." Go to settings shows the client attempts to connect, but seems to be stuck with an assigned random IP (not on the subnet of law), no gateway by default, etc..

Other access points by train (Belkin, billion) that's fine.

DHCP etc. everything is managed by my router which is a constant for all devices and access points - but I tried to change that, and he has not made a difference also.
