Connection to the wireless network trouble at the start of Windows 7

I have configured my computer will automatically connect to my home network, but at the start, it aims rather to connect to 'SoftAP-C0', a network with zero signal strength that probably belongs to one of my neighbors. It is impossible to connect and displays "waiting for users ' instead of 'connected' or 'disconnected '. I then have to disconnect this network manually connect to my network home and enter the security key. Because my computer never gets to actually connect to the network SoftAP, I can't access the configuration window to disable the automatic connection (if it is still what makes my computer trying to connect to it in the first place.) Is there another way to access its configuration (otherwise than through the network and sharing Center)?

Hello

You can see a list of available wireless networks and then connect to one of those networks, no matter where you are. The wireless networks appear only if your computer has a wireless network adapter and driver installed and the adapter is turned on.

If you want Windows to ask permission before attempting to connect to a wireless access point, you can Turn off wireless on the laptop.

You can have a switch on the laptop turns off the same. Turning off Wireless is specific to the model of the laptop.

You can follow the links below to set up your preferred networks.

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: Solved: unable to connect to my wireless network

I have problems connecting to my wireless network. In available connections, my network is there with an x next to it. I can click on it and put my security key in, but it says unable to connect to the network. I've updated ready network cards. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Bobby

Thank you for all your help. I'm back on now. I started having trouble a few weeks ago. My wifi connection would pass, and I have to disable and then re activate my network card back. This has been relatively shortly after my upgrade from Windows 10 but not immediately after. Then the other day which didn't work and I could not connect at all. I read somewhere to try to uninstall the network adapter and then restarting. It did not work. I also read to find updates for the network card and install those which, as mentioned by ichi730 as well. This no longer works. Then, I realized that I had not tried to restart the router after reading the post of WyreNut. It worked, thank you! I feel that it is a combination of the two pieces of advice that have worked so.

Thank you all for your comments, it's much appreciated.

  • Palm TX cannot connect to WLC4404 wireless network

I work for a small junior College and I'm having a bit of trouble getting a Palm TX handheld unit to connect to our wireless network. I hope someone can help me solve this problem.

Six months ago, I created a WLAN (other than broadcasting, WPA / PSK and TKIP) for three digital assistants; everything worked very well. Two weeks ago, I upgraded the software on our controller wireless unable to connect 4.2.112 to the 5.2.193.0 version and now the PDA version. Maybe it's a coincidence... I know not dion. Someone suggested the possibility, and it seems appropriate.

Documentation for handheld computers say they can use WEP or WPA / PSK.

I tried to connect the PDA with 1) no security/authentication at all, 2) WEP and 3) WPA Personal. The unit I tested will connect to an airport of Apple and an ad hoc network on my laptop. I'm going home tonight and test it with my wireless Netgear N series router.

I read a little on a Palm TX Enterprise Security Update. The Palm device does not belong to the school that I work so I can't launch the update to this topic

This appears in the log after I try to connect:

Let experiement for awhile. Go a head and change data rates... 1 MEG Mandtory. Do ALL other supported data rates.

To debug a client. CLI in the WLC who has the AP to which your wireless client is attached. The debugging of type customer. Then turn on your wireless client and enter what he brings in the WLC.

Contradictory rates supported is the piece of intesrting. When you SAY make a MANDATORY RATE. A client MUST support this rate and if not she probably won't connect. Leash so it gives a spin...

  • Cannot connect D110 for wireless network

    Hello

I just bought the D110 all in one, but am having trouble connecting to my wireless network.

    Here is my network information:

    DSL with Verizon

My router is a netgear rangemax wnr3500

I use for my WPA - PSK [TKIP] safety + WPA2-PSK [AES].

He can see my wireless network, but after that I put in the access code, it does not connect.  I also tried using the WPS method with no luck.  Help!

I feel so stupid for this but I've checked the settings on my router again last night and the MAC address filtering enabled.  I must have forgotten that I turned it back at some point.  My fault.  Thanks for responding in any case.

  • Unable to connect to other wireless networks

RE: Unable to connect to other wireless networks

    • My computer is a HP Pavilion dv7 1232nr Entertainment Center
    • My OS is Windows Vista 64 bit
    • I have installed many things over the past year, but know that at some point, I was able to get on free Wi - Fi in hotels

I am able to connect to my network, but when I try to connect to others, I'm unable to do. I have their password and my computer SHOWS I have a connection, but actually I'm not. When I try to connect to the Internet, the server is not found. I called the support/supplier for the last network owner and he told me that even if I "thought" I was online, I really wasn't. He said that it is probably a router configuration for that person that does not correspond to my computer. As I was just visiting, of course I didn't mess with their router. This happened to me twice, with once the provider is the same as mine, but the only way I could get connected with a hard link.

So far, the only thing I did is to see if I could connect to free wireless (municipal library) and was unsuccessful. I think the problem is with my settings, but am not sure. I have to be careful to change anything because I can't afford to lose my connection at home because my job depends on it.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks for any advice you might be able to share.

  • Pavilion p6-2310: can no longer connect to our wireless network

All of a sudden our PC no longer has a connection to our wireless network.  We looked at the list of installed programs and it shows Ralink RT539OR 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter has having been installed today - but we have no install anything today.  Is it a coincidence that shows like this and all of a sudden we can access our wireless network?  How do we get working again that it is necessary as soon as possible?  Thanks for any help.

Thank you.  I'm like a dog with a bone when it comes to these things and not rest until I get solved.  So, I found something in the knowledge base of the forum who pointed me in the right direction.  Using Device Manager we uninstalled and reinstalled the card wifi, and bingo, it works again.  Ceases to amaze me, but how a computer works fine 1 minute and then the next time that you are never going to use it, boom, something does not work.  And you did nothing to change anything so that it does not work.

  • I can't connect to my wireless network.

I can't connect to my wireless network.
I pressed the FN + F8 combination keys and a box will appear briefly on the screen then disaappears quickly.
I don't have time to click on anything, and also a message said that I have no network connection.

I disabled my firewall on a case where this caused a problem.
    Can someone please

    Hello

    > I pressed the FN + F8 combination keys and a box appears briefly on the screen, then disappears quickly

This is nothing unusual. You need to pass only to the WLan and then disappear the wishes of the box! There is nothing wrong.

First, you must activate the WLan switch on the side of cell phones! Then use the FN + F8 key to switch to the WLan.
Then use the configuration Windows own option or a 3rd party WLan client configuration tool like Atheros or Intel ProSet utility. But it depends on the WLan card manufacture what utility can be used!

Then set the right settings such as the SSID, password encryption, etc.
If you have set all right should then work!

    Hello

Your wireless network is probably configured as if it is attached to cooperate Wireless Network (AKA RADUIS).

Look at the Configuration Wireless in the network connection properties and uncheck, enable IEEE 802. 1 x

  • Cannot connect ot my wireless network after you run Setup WRE54G

I bought a camera (ver. 3 - en) WRE54G refurbished. Just before the installation, I was able to connect to my wireless network, internet access, etc.

So I ran the installer for the WRE54G to my laptop, which failed because the installation program could not connect to the diving (device was plugged).

After this attempt, I am still able to connect to my wireless network at home with my laptop, however, I cannot access the internet.

Other computers (macBook, my Galaxy Tablet) have no problem with the wireless network, only the laptop that ran the Setup program.

I restarted the wireless router and my laptop several times. I then unplugged the WRE54G - no difference, Iam not able to access the internet.

    Can you please help?

  • WRT54G v.5 will remain not connected to the new laptop / Windows 7 Premium

WRT54G v.5 will remain not connected to the new laptop / Windows 7 Premium. It works continuously with a cycle detection, connection, loss of connection; detection, connection, loss of connection, etc... The router works through this cycle, basically acting as if I disconnected and then reconnected to the power to reset, it disrupts my Internet connection to my Wired iMac and wireless, another office to the floor. Paid for Linksys support today and through remote access, he put up a new network on my desktop (iMac). After finishing, the problem still exists. When I told him that the problem had not been corrected, he said just wait an hour or two and it should work itself. She, of course, did not himself. Any ideas out there?

Nevermind - I seem to have solved the problem with a simple firmware. Funny how the Linksys technician support don't think to ask what version of the router I have or suggest that I should try to upgrade firmware first. However, he is quite good at trying to upsell me for a new router instead of trying to help me solve the problem I had. It makes me want to go buy Netgear next time, thanks a lot!

    Hello

    1. Why do you want to be upgraded to connect to the wireless network?

    2. are - what you are talking about to upgrade to Windows 7?

As you are using a desktop computer, you must purchase and install a Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) wireless adapter or a USB wireless adapter, and then you will be able to connect to the wireless network.

Once you purchase and install the adapter, please try the steps in the following Microsoft articles.

    Scope of David

Yes, it is very probably the router.  SMC routers are non-standard (as are most of the routers ISP-issued) and does not play well with HP printers and other devices designed to the WIfi Alliance standards.

I recommend you get a modem by your ISP and go buy your own wireless router.  Get a name-brand a Linksys or Netgear and be happy!
