Internet connectivity on mac os x 10.3.9 and airport 4.2 issues

The AirPort Express 802.11n 2nd generation needs at least the utility AirPort 5.6.1 or higher to be implemented.  This means that you must have a Mac running OS Leopard or Snow Leopard for utility AirPort 5.6.1.

Or, if you have a Mac running Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite or El Capitan, these operating systems could also be used to configure the AirPort Express Terminal.

I'm not tech savvy... I had an addition on the House and our wifi is weak. I have a Timecapsle and tried to plug an Ethernet cable and bring it up to the addition where I would place the Airport express.

I can't work. Can someone walk me through the settings?

I currently have Ethernet plugged into one of the ports in the timecapse and then plugged into the Ethernet port on the Airport express

We need a little more information to be able to help – tips and tricks for airports depend on the model you have and the computer that you use to configure the airport.

Your AirPort Express look like this?

Or, your AirPort Express there than a single Ethernet port, like this?

If it has only one Ethernet port, that we need to model on the side of the unit number. It is difficult to see gray inscription on white background, so you can need good lighting and reading glasses to see clearly. The model number starts with an 'A' follow-up of four digits. Post back with that info, please.

The next point, we need to know what device you are using to configure the Express... .a mac?... a PC?... an iPad or iPhone?

If you have a Mac, we need to know what operating system they are running. If you are not sure about this, click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then click on about this Mac and post back with the Version of OS X number that you see there.

Finally, we assume that you have tested the Ethernet cable that will connect to the time Capsule to the location of the AirPort Express Terminal by connecting a computer or laptop to the Ethernet cable temporarily, turn off WiFi and checking to make sure that you get a good connection Internet in this way. If you can, then the cable works fine.  If you can't get a good connection, then you will need to resolve things first, before you can try to plug the AirPort Express Terminal.

  • Can I connect my Airport Extreme base station via an ethernet cable to a counter of locus?

Can I use my Airport Express (802.11n Wi - Fi) to connect with an ethernet cable, a locus counter that is used with a solar panel inverter?  Currently I use the hotspot to connect two different Mac computers and an Ipad.  Sungevity, Setup, told me that the signal must go in a direction of my locus meter satellite modem.  Sungevity also told me that if I can hard wire any device (such as a computer) directly from my Airport, I should also be able to do the same with the meter of locus.  Has anyone tried this before?

    Thank you.

What is the AirPort Express you have?

As you test, turn off the WiFi on a computer and then connect the computer to the local network <-->port on the AirPort Express using an Ethernet cable to see if the computer can get a good connection Internet in this way?

If he CAN... and if the people of support for your solar panels have provided the correct information... then the meter will work.

  • What type of modem do I need connect my AirPort Extreme to BT infinity

What type of modem do I need connect my AirPort Extreme to BT infinity

The question is not really what kind of modem you need... it is rather one of 'approved' modems which provides the BT will be compatible with the AirPort Extreme.

Unfortunately, the AirPort Extreme and other Apple routers are designed to work with standard DSL and cable type connections.  The fiber is a new ball game, and Apple has not yet learned all the rules for the new game.

Your best bet would be to publish a list of 'approved' BT here modems and then ask other users who might have the same product and an AirPort Extreme about their experience.

You can also just ask BT what product they would recommend to work with the AirPort Extreme.  They tell you that they will not support you if you are using the Apple product, so maybe it's something to consider as well.

  • Connection Internet grave computer recovery

Hello.  I bought a Veriton X4620G last year and it works great.  There is only one thing that bothers me.  The internet connection drops when the computer sleeps.  When I woke up it I have to click several times on the network icon in the toolbar reconnect you to the internet.

It never happened on my previous office, and two other laptops in the House right now don't have this problem when they go in mode 'sleep'.  The internet connection remains.

Is it possible that I could eliminate this problem with my Veriton?

    Thank you.

I found a way to avoid that connection internet disconnection when my computer goes to sleep.

If I close all browsers and also close my e-mail program before the computer goes to sleep, I find that when I wake up the computer on which the internet connection disappeared.

I now do not close my browser OR my email program and find that when I wake my computer from sleep that my internet connection is still.

I am happy with what it can be a workaround.  At least I'm now not lose my internet connection when I SLEEP.

  • IPv4 connectivity: no internet - ipv6 connectivity: internet?

    Hello

I am trying to connect to my work network, but there is a problem with the connection. It says that I'm connected and everything seems fine. It's not until I want to browse the internet when I have problems. For example, if I go to google and enter a query it gives me results, but once I have selected an option, it shows the "cannot display this page, please check your internet connection..." "I run the troubleshooter and it is not able to find a problem. Then I go to my network and sharing Center and look at the status of wireless conncetion and I noticed, it says:

    IPv4 connectivity: No internet access

    IPv6 connectivity: Internet

It is very confusing and I can't find a reason to why this is happening. I hope someone can help me, thanks in advance.

  • Connection Internet drops several times every 5 to 15 minutes

Connection Internet drops several times every 5 to 15 minutes.  It is an old ASUS week ultrabook computer that is running Windows 7 Home Premiuim.  The problem is not the network as 4 other wireless computers work properly. Also, same problem is observed on the other two networks.  Only change in the computer as he received is the addition of Kapersky anti-virus and Microsoft Office 2003.  Problem seems to be with Windows 7.  The yellow triangle of death appears on connection bars when the problem occurs.  Disconnect and reconnect the Internet solves the problem for another 5 to 15 minutes.

It seems to me that it is a possible driver with the card built into your new laptop wireless. You can consider using Device Manager to check to see if there are problems reported with the wireless adapter. Also, I suggest that you visit the manufacturer of the laptop and get the latest available wireless drivers for that brand and model.

You could also have a hunt in the event log and see if there is any additional details that might shed some light as to why the wireless network has decreased. That his fall is one thing, but the log events might suggest a few reasons for this.

  • How to connect my Airport Express to Linksys WAG120N?

I recently bought a Linksys WAG120 + 2 Modem Router ADSL. I have a connection broadband ADSL with PPPoE. I want to use WAG120 as modem only & Airport Express as main WI - FI router. Please help how to configure my modem and Airport Express?

Executer run through the installation wizard, select bridge mode.

It should be a simple option available from the installation... but I don't have to say.

    http://downloads.Linksys.com/downloads/Userguide/1224645029534/WAG120N-160Nv2-32 0N-EMEA_UG_C-WEB, 0.pdf

Bridge is explained in the manual... always an interesting place to look for instructions.

The express for PPPOE in the Internet tab of configuration... Note that this is not reliable for many people. Your ISP MUST also support PPPOE.

The network tab is then configured with DHCP and NAT. the rest is pretty much automatic.

  • PC does not connect to AirPort Extreme

I have a windows 7 dell latitude D600 that connects to wireless very well. I think that the wireless card is like b/g/n.

I have an Airport Extreme 6th Gen AC that sends wifi very well to everything I own.

The PC sees the network, I click on it and enter the password, he thinks for a while and fails!

I have studied this problem and it is not the PC, I think it is the most convenient airport.

    Thank you

If you take a look at the plug of the D600, you will see that it is Wireless 'b' which forces the old WEP security settings.

    http://www.CNET.com/products/Dell-Latitude-D600/specs/

Unfortunately, the new routers WEP abandoned airport about 3-4 years ago because it is so safe and easily cracked with some free tools available on the Internet.

A test, turn off security on the AirPort Base Station wireless and see if the Dell can connect in this way. If he can... then you know that the Dell is not compatible with the highest levels of security that use airports and other newer routers.

Do not recommend that you do this, but you can try to lower the security on the airport to WPA/WPA2...but I don't know if the Dell will connect this way or not.  It won't if it is limited to WEP security levels.

Better to keep safety at the recommended levels and try a USB wireless adapter to see if it works with the Dell printer.

  • Connect to Airport Extreme to another router

Hello.  I searched this forum to see if my question is already answered.  I couldn't find all the signs that answer.  If it has already been answered, please point me to the subject.  Otherwise, here's my question:

I need to expand Internet coverage in my house.  This is the configuration I want to implement:

    • Cable modem (at one end of my house) connected to a WiFi router non - Apple.

    • Use an Ethernet cable to the router through my attic, at one Airport Extreme to the other end of the House

    • I would like to run an Ethernet cable from the Airport Extreme to my TV and another cable to an AppleTV

This would give wireless coverage to the entire House and Internet wired for television and the AppleTV.

I would like some advice on how best to implement.  Here are a few questions (although I don't know if I ask to everything that I need to ask):

    • If the Airport Extreme be configured with DHCP or a static IP address?

    • If the Airport Extreme and the other router have the same SSID and password?  Or it doesn't matter?

    • What should I do a configuration to make the Ethernet connection work seamlessly in Airport Extreme to the other router on the cable modem?

    • I guess I can configure the other router (connected to the cable modem) to DHCP.  Is this correct?

Thanks in advance for any advice.  If all goes well, I plan to spend this Saturday morning crawling into the attic and tonight Saturday benefiting the whole Internet.

Should the Airport Extreme be configured with DHCP or a static IP address?

DHCP, unless you have a preference for a static IP address.

Airport Extreme and the other router has the same SSID and password?

Yes, if you want both of your routers to behave as if they provided a unique network of "big". No, if you want to require users to log on the wireless provided separately by each router.

I have to do any configuration to make the Ethernet connection work seamlessly in Airport Extreme to the other router on the cable modem?

Just run configuration 'Wizard' of Apple, and it will assign the correct parameters to the AirPort Extreme.

I guess I can configure the other router (connected to the cable modem) to DHCP.  Is this correct?

It is not clear, given that we do not know what another router you may have. Do you mean that the other router connected to the modem via DHCP... or... you hear the other router provide DHCP and NAT services for the entire network?

  • Windows 7 computer to connect to Airport Extreme with an external USB drive attached. Flash drive appears for the network map but not the hard drive.

original title: drive hard extreme airport

Using Windows 7 and the Airport Extreme.  The Airport Extreme has a USB port that can be used to mount an external hard drive which is accessible via the wireless connection.  Only thing is, I can't get a 2 GB flash drive will appear for mapping.  When I use the other hard drives, they never show upward for mapping.  They show that it is connected to the Airport Extreme, but are not seen by my PC.   The internet has a rumor according to which hard drives will show up only on a PC if they are to FAT32... which would work without another formatted hard drive.  What do you know about my problems of compatibility with hard drives?

    Hello

Check updates firmware for the Airport Extreme.

    Airport Extreme

    Airport - Support
    http://www.Apple.com/support/airport/

    ---------------------

Although I think that the question is really the Airport Extreme also updates Windows 7 WiFi.
Check with the system manufacturer and the real device manufacturer updates the driver.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods
below is preferred so that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are
    found)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version.
(Those become your fonts of rescue system manufacturer).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as windows
    7 love the updated drivers.

    I hope this helps.
