Connectors power cable ATA for a new disk in XPS 8500 of evil

Hello world

I am trying to add a blu ray burner to my XPS 8500. I was doing very well until you connect the power cord. The one I have has a connector 15 female pins that plugs into the drive, but the other end is a male connector 4 pins. I can not find a connector 4 pins female inside the XPS 8500, only 15 pins coming out of ecisting optical drive and hard drive. What I have to buy a new cable or I missed something? I'm a complete newbie to this sort of thing would be appreciated simple instructions.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Suzzicat,

There should be available in the case like this power cable to connect this drive:

The cable supplied with the drive to connect to the older type molex power connector.

  • Windows installation disc needs for a new disk hard but is not available

    Hello

The hard drive on my PC HP badly shot - he tells me I need to check for consistency, but it cannot and will not run chkdsk on a restart and will not let me create a restore disk.

OK, I accept that I need to buy a new hard drive but I have no CD to install Win 7. The pc has a partition called "factory secctings" but it will not create a cd of Windows or a restore cd or a Sun.

Microsoft has said that it is not available for me because my serial number includes the letters OEM. I had a case created at HP, and a person called me and said I should get the CD of the os from Microsoft, or from the store I bought from (Staples). Staples said they have no CD for Win 7 and cannot make me a. They said get them from Microsoft or HP.

The number of cases is 3016271460

See that I get nothing from Microsoft, HP, or Stqples. I never got a CD with the pc because, I guess, it's there on the partition to factory settings, but with the failure of hard drive I can't use it.

    All have a suggestion?

Your hard drive can hold the DEFECTIVE SECTORS.

The only way to get windows 7 disc is to buy a new Amazon / similar online stores / service centres.

    You can try this:

  • Pavilion p6537c: Dead Win 7 C drive, should I go direct to 10 for a new disk? Ideas on data recovery?

Question: Installing an operating system on the new replacement drive:

750 GB hard drive on my Win 7 Home Premium desktop is completely dead. [See data recovery? below.] With regard to the new replacement unit 1 TB, I don't have recovery discs (my bad) and can get a USB bootable HP for $30 in 5 days.  But if I will Windows 10 in any case, would it not easier to simply direct that, assuming that I can download from the MS site?  Is this possible or do I have a valid Windows installed before 'upgrade '?  I have the serial number of windows etc. since it is a 64-bit licensed machine Win 7 legit bought new at HP.  There cpu: AMD Phenom II X 4 830 (D) 2.8 GHz and 6 Gig of RAM. Tips appreciated!

DATA RECOVERY question: C drive would not start at all in a local computer store and they refer only to the people of data recovery. Any ideas how I could do this, or at least try, me? Otherwise, any suggestions on the most cost-effective way to get what I can (if any) out of the disc?  I don't have an idea as to why/how it has failed or the status of the Board at this point.

    Thank you very much!!

From W10 v1511 that you do not have to enter a key when it is stored in the bios, W10 will find that during the installation, so you can just go right to the 10 and spend 8 installation.

Even if it is not stored in the bios, you can enter a product key valid W7 orW8 during installation of W10 and he will accept it.

  • How to validate windows after the disk crash hard with or without pay for a new disk

    Hello

Thanks for any help. My hard drive crashed after it overheated. Each attempt I used to reinstall or use a backup version failed because my hard drive could not be found. This disc that came with my computer was so useless. I had to go to a computer repair shop & buy a new CD with Windows 7 on their part. Now, when asked to reactivate it, it says my code is not genuine and is not even from America. I read in another message that a person would buy a CD to their computer manufacturer. I do now? I have the dang code for my original windows installation. It is right on the side of my computer Tower, but obviously it does not work as disc of the repair shop has a different code.

Now that my computer is totally fixed, is it possible for me to try and reinstall my windows with the repair disc supplied with my computer when I bought it? Alternatively, I can reset my computer to its factory installation? Are these files on my computer since I have used another drive? I'm guessing that probably not. Thanks again for any help.

    Statistics of the computer:

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

    Hard drive: 1 TB

    Memory: 3 GB

    Processor Intel Pentium E58

I'm pretty computer illiterate, so if you tell me to go to a certain place and type a number of keys, I won't be able to understand it, even with the simplest explanations... I'm sorry.

Have you tried to restart by phone?

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • the best game of video card with the power pack for a new 8500 XPS

What is the power supply best match with the graphics card AMD Radeon HD 7770 for my new desktop XPS 8500? The original of the graphics card is nvidia GeForce GT 640, but then Dell sent me that the order has been changed to this nvidia card is no longer available for a PC Windows 7 XPS 8500. So now they have changed my graphics card to this 7770 AMD which shows a 500 watt minimum power is required, but the 8500 has a 460 watts inside. So I email Dell customer support on this topic, but since I don't play all the games or graphics applications high, 460 watt will work OK or not? Either type OEM AMD Radeon card available from Dell for this computer is the HD 7570 with lower at only 400 watts power supply needs?

The 7770 works perfectly with POWER 460 block. It is much faster than the 7570. Although the 7770 recommends a 500 Watt power supply, it attracts about 140 watts on average so no need to worry.

  • For HDD power cable

Just bought a HP Envy 700-030qe CTO desktop PC. Because HP does not offer a hybrid drive SS I decided to install one myself and move the disc that came with the computer to the 2nd position in the car. Successfully, I have installed the new drive, restored the system and reformat the original drive using an external adapter to Apricorn. To complete the installation of the 2nd disk, you need the integral of separate SATA connector in the harness (no problem) and a power cable. The latter was not provided. Called HP support and they told me dryly that HP will not sell me the part since I did not buy a second drive hard when I bought the computer.

Someone finds a way around that stupid customer and very unfriendly HP political or otherwise know of a 3rd party where I can buy the cable?

Semibum wrote... "To complete the installation of the 2nd disk, you must the integral of SATA connector in the harness (no problem) and a power supply cable separate."

    I think you have that backwards... The power connector is the part that is "part of the beam" and you need to buy a separate SATA cable to connect the drive to the motherboard. If you follow the 'wiring' to its origin, it should go to food. The power connector/cable and SATA data connector/cable should look like;

    Example of SATA connections

    1 - power cable

    2 - SATA data cable

Should what kind of cable I?

    Hey,.

I also put t know what power cable you need to Cyprus, but you should ask the local authorized service provider. Guys can order all spare parts Toshiba because they have access to the spare parts of Toshiba.

I'm pretty sure that everything can be clarified with the guys then contact them and ask for such a cable. :)

  • We have a whole new 6600 OfficeJet, power cable was stolen. HP does not sell it, where can I get one?

Our Client has a HP Office Jet 6600 printer and the power cable has been stolen. It's a new current printer and HP still sells, but for some ridiculous reason, they do not support selling adapters for it. Anyone know where I can get one? EBay has not been successful so far. Thank you!

    Hi chrispat7,

The part number for the power supply cable is 8121-0889 power cord (black) - 2-wire, 18 AWG, 0.5 m (1.6 ft) long - right (F) C7 taken (for 120 v in North America, opt. 953). Below a link to a document that will help you get this part is ordered.

  • Power connector at right angle for laptop HP 2230 s?

Is it possible to get an adapter at right angles to the power connector DC for my laptop HP 2230 s?

The connector on the DC power cable that goes into the laptop out the path to the side (a good 2.5 "), which, besides being bulky, resembles an accident waiting to happen. On my old Fujitsu, the connector was barely right angle type, it came out at all, and was not a danger to catch on anything and damage the socket or the plug. This type of connector puts also much less strain on the DC input jack, as he does not act as a lever for bit.

I've seen at right angles to the adapters for different types of cable (you plug your cable on one end and the other goes in the computer), like this:

I hope you get the idea. In any case, what I would like is an adapter for the type of connector used on my HP laptop. The type of connector seems to be pretty standard in the range, so an adapter can be used with many models of HP. In the end, I hope that HP will change cables from their power supplies for laptop to come with these types of connectors at the ends, but in the meantime, is possible to get an appropriate, either through HP or a third party adapter?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer suggestions!

  • New disk recovery is required for my Equium A100-338

    Hi all

I've had my laptop for a good few years now and I need to use the recovery disc, the problem is that the disc is scratched to hell and Toshiba say I must pay £29.99 for a replacement disk, which is a little steep.

My question is Toshiba has a replacement policy of the disks scratched if it isn't that how all the drivers and pre-installed software back, I have no problem with the help of my parents vista install DVD that is available for 3 machines, but I want all software and stuff that is loaded on the recovery disk.

Any ideas on how I can do this

When you buy Toshiba laptop (old model), you will get a disk to restore DVD facilities.
If this disk is destroyed and cannot be used you can get a new one, but is not free.

So, you have the choice of ordering a new or install a clean operating system.
Recovery image recorded on recovery facilities disc contains following software:
    -Operating system
    -All drivers
    -Utilities and specific tools Toshiba
-Some other software such as a DVD player or application antivirus (trial version)

In my opinion, you should install own OS. All the drivers, Toshiba tools and utilities that you can download from the Toshiba support page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

It is quite the same as on the recovery image. DVD player is not important, and you can download free very good VLC player. As an antivirus application I recommend Avira antivir.

I can't initialize the disk for my new external hard drive because the drop-down list in the Disk Management Console does not give me this option. I'm logged in as an administrator and running Windows XP.  The driver for the new hardware is not digitally signed because I can't initialize the disk.  So I can't get my new hardware to run.  Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get the option "Initialize disk" in the Disk Management Console?

    Hello Honduras1,

Can you simply right-click and format everything first?  The drive must be formatted before use, make sure that you format NTFS.
