console view disk management is obsolete... Help!

I use windows enterprise 8 N 64 bit n can not access other drives installed on the computer of my. He bed view of disk management console is obsolete... Help!

Hi Okerkyire,

Let us know a few details about the issue.

1. what you're trying to do in disk management?

2. have you created any recent disk partition?

I suggest you to update the storage controller drivers by following these steps, then check.

a. press the Windows key + X , and then select Device Manager.

b. search storage controllers and expand it.

c. right-click on the driver and then select Update driver software.

If this does not resolve the problem, then we can use the command line to perform specific tasks. So, if you tell us briefly about the question, we would then be able to help you.

You are always welcome in our community for any type of Windows problems.

  • The operation did not complete because the disk management console view is not updated.

Disk title management error: Windows 7 original by adding a drive letter
Well, I don't know why this is happening, but if I try to add a disk to my windows system, it will not automatically add a drive letter, but it will add a drive letter to my USB and USB external drives without problem. It's just when I plug it in sata he's going all wobbly. I see the HARD internal disk in disk as a disk, but windows disk management Refuses anyway shape to add a drive letter, even with diskpart automount enabled. This is the error I get when I try:

"The operation failed to complete because the disk management console view is not updated. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists close the disk management console, then restart disk management or restart the computer. »

Absolutely nothing works. I tried Diskpart, acronis, AOMEI, EausUS, chkdsk, sfc/scannow, Microsoft fixit. Nothing works to get the drive Manager to add a drive letter to an internal HARD disk. Like I said, sticks and USB drives are no problem. I looked all over Google and I have not seen one solution to this problem short of a total erase and start again, and at this point, I'm not be done with everything I installed and might have to reinstall.

I have other systems that do not have this problem. Just this one windows 7 install x 64. Can anyone shed some light on why this happens and how to fix it or if there is even a fix for it.

  • View of the Disk Management Console is not updated.

    I use win 7.
I tried to change the size of the disk by using the magic of the partion and it failed. He asked me about a wrong address, and I click on continue (I guess he's changed the logical address).
Now I can't see my partion (D) to the workstation.
When I run windows disk management and try to change the drive letter, it is said: "the operation failed to complete because the disk management console view is not updated. Refresh the gwendoline by using the refresh task. If the problem persists close the disk management console, then restart disk management or restart the computer. »
I tried with windows Diskpart to mount the partition but I can't. If I have the volume list, it shows me only (C), but if I list the partition, then it shows me all the 3 partition:
    Partion 1: OEM
    Partion 2: primary
    Partion 3: primary
    but I can't access partition 3.

    Hello faithful,.

Have you tried to use other third-party programs to "manipulate" the discs?  It seems that even if Palcouk $ million question with is it compatible, so I shot to the top of Partition Magic site and see the this PM 8 is not compatible with Windows 7.  I would try to see if you can access the partition from the command prompt, but I promise that would work.  Have you created a backup of your data before you do?

I would say go to the link below and post a question with the community to see if you have viable options to recover from this.

  • Need help installing a Raid0 in Win7Pro disk management.

I had a raid but only one drive died and I'm trying to get a new will raid0.  I have an SSD for the boot drive and two new Sata Seagate 3TO disks for the raid.  They are installed and the Intell Rapid Storage Technology Software sees them and I used that to create a new switched-on and both drives are chosen as members.

Now I go to disk management in Windows, but I forgot what to do now. Initialize disks, make them dynamic with GPT partitions and choose them as striped readers?  Just not sure of the procedure.  I have a motherboard Asus P9X79 WS with UEF Bios.

Personally, after seeing the problems, I use raid, except that using a third party hardware raid card and for redundancy, I more than two disks, at least one more of a resumption of the fall-over

A decent raid card costs about $500

RAID 0 is a striped raid configuration

  • To install the new eSATA / SATA to USB 2.0 hard drive in an external enclosure but the computer does not recognize the drive in disk management

I have an old computer with installed Microsoft Windows XP SP2 and 3.  I bought a new hard drive and also a new external hard drive for her case.  I have correctly installed the hard drive inside the enclosure, and I think that I have installed correctly (in the motherboard SATA port) eSATA port, according to the manufacturer's instructions.  I plugged everything... first eSATA, then power and power switch.  I restarted the computer, and I chose to analyze disks in disk management.  However, the new drive is not recognized.  The SATA port on the motherboard could not work or did I buy the bad, perhaps, hard drive enclosure for my system?  Or something related to the software?  Thank you.

    Hi Donnadream,

Connect the hard drive to another port and check if that makes a difference

Step 1: You can follow the steps mentioned in the article below, which deals with a similar question

  • Cannot assign a drive letter using the Vista Disk Manager.

I read these latest solutions possible, but here's my problem.  I need to connect directly a 3.5 drive I pulled a SIN of hammer to my laptop running Windows Vista... because I need to recover a folder deleted this drive 3.5 with software that only works on the directly connected motors.  Software of network recovery might work, but it seems too expensive for just the recovery of this folder.  I connected the hard drive directly via the USB port.  The system tray sees the device, but the Explorer is and of disk management to assign a drive letter is greyed out.  Please help with assigning a drive letter.  There is only one user on the laptop which is also the administrator.  Thank you!

In my view, that Hammer NAS units are based on Linux. Therefore, the drive is probably _not_ formatted with a filesystem Windows reads/writes. Making it very difficult to recover the folder removed since all things you could do to convert to NTFS, say, will also make little probable that you can recover deleted files. Eventually, you could use one of the Linux flavors running from a DVD, for example, Ubuntu and recover the file by using a Linux tool or set the drive on a Linux machine.

  • My computer does not display the correct names of my hard drives, but because of disk management.

  • Hitachi external hard drive not detected on Windows 7. Disk Management displays "No Media"

OP: New computer with Windows 7 cannot display files on external hard drive Hitachi

My Hitachi hard drive is compatible with Windows 7.  This hard drive was working properly with my old computer using Windows XP.  I can see the device in the Device Manager, but I can't view the files.  In disk management, the drive is listed at the bottom of the screen, but said "No Media", however there is almost 50 GB of data stored.

The hard drive shows in the list of devices and printers when I opened that folder, but does not appear in the list of hard drives on my computer.

I still don't understand what happened, but I've decided how to fix it.

After trying my hard drive locked on 4 computers with Windows installed (two with Windows 7) and two with XP and having no success, I decided to plug it into a computer using a Linyx OS (Obuntu).  The computer recognizes my hard drive and open.  Then I was able to use the Windows System.  I managed to freeze hard drive again and he cured the same way.  Maybe this will help also, if you have access to a computer with this operating system.  Maybe a mac would also work.

  • Unable to connect to the virtual disk Service, Virtual Disk Manager Interface not registered

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate on this laptop as a new installation about six months ago.  Since then, I don't think I ever ran diskmgmt.  Today, I joined a new external hard drive usb, it reported the drivers installed fine, but then the installation bombed at the beginning.  I went to verity, what had happened and has run diskmgmt.msc (as an administrator), but she came back with the message "Unable to connect to the virtual disk Service" and also a small OK msgbox appeared with the title "Virtual Disk Manager" and the "Interface not registered" message

I disconnected the USB hard drive and tried again diskmgmt, but no change.

I restarted in safe mode, tried diskmgmt, but no change.

I ran sfc/scannow, but it has reported that it found no errors.

I checked that the virtual disk service has been configured as a textbook in services.msc, and event viewer showed that when I ran diskmgmt he started VDS and then stopped VDS.

I tried again, but still not like before.
