Constantly frozen Finder. 10.9.5

I have a MacBook Pro (retina 10.9.5 13 ")

Since this morning my finder has been constantly frozen. Once restarted, it runs for about 10-30 seconds and then remains frozen. I first thought that it might be a preferences file corrupted and restarted several times and I've tried deleting the com.apple.finder.plist and that does not work either.

When I relaunch the finder, it works for a few seconds and crashes, I can no longer select files, navigate through folders or do anything.

Has anyone had this problem before? How they don't solve it?

Did you reboot after you remove the .plist file?

Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in system preferences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolate a problem by using a different user account

If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

    I'm having a similar problem on my iMac vintage 2008 since the update to OS X 10.11.2, but not on my vintage 2011 Macbook Air.  On the iMac, Finder keeps freezing cannot change folders, search for docs, cannot iconify or close the Finder window, etc..  Workaround is to select 'Go' and then 'Documents' (or any other option).  When I do this the finder which was open window closes and another opens which then will allow me to select a document.  However, as soon as I iconify this window it freezes again.

  • How do to keep control for location

    In the app I develop, I need constantly to find the location according to a time interval set by the user and then calculate a distance from this place.

    I tried to put in a simple while loop, I even tried the Sleep() function but when I test it on the Simulator, it does not work so I think I'm doing something wrong.

    You must follow these steps to configure the system:

    Looks like that the cookie is not saved correctly. Try to go into the settings in Chrome, advanced settings, and then click content under privacy settings. Make sure that you accept all cookies and add an exception for https://secure.eloqua.com . Aside from that, you can talk to your IT Department as there may be a permissions problem which does not Chrome access the cookie by Prospect Profiler (im going to assume that perspective Profiler is theyre using in this case app, because it requires a login all discover itself flows from your SFDC credentials).

  • Finder constantly go that have stopped responding

    I have a MacBook Pro (mid-2014 model) under OS X 10.9.5. It was fine for a few years, but there are, all of a sudden a few days Finder suddenly not working properly.   • Suddenly the ipad is not find wifi server. WiFi shows on the ipad and the circle continues to operate.  Parameters is frozen. I turned it off but the Apple logo does not appear.

  • constantly crashing, cannot find a solution

    It was very good for the months of work perfeclty, then a pop up came saying necessary firefox updated. Did not care, in a hurry. It closed. And... the crash begins.

    No toolbar, only several adblcok. I have already updated, reinstalled everything to do with Firefox and deleted Firefox and the file was completely and reinstalled. ANYWAY... fails...

    I have a macbook pro running on 10.9.5 Mavericks. I got it for a few years? Pretty smooth sailing, touch wood, except for a few days every time I try to use the finder it freezes and the screen gets corrupted look (so; it's like a picture of me trying to access my applications folder).

    If I use force quit to make finder restart, it will work for the first couple items, I try to find, and then do it again. I tried to delete the plist finder and reboot, but no dice. Is there something I can do?

    Try to connect as a guest (or any other user account) and see if the same thing happens.

    • If you do not have an active guest account (you would see on your login screen), open system preferences and go to users and groups.
    • Click on the padlock at the bottom on the left and enter your admin password.
    • Under the section other users to the left of the window, click Guest user.
    • Check "Allow guests to connect to this computer."
    • For ease of use, click Connection Options at the bottom and check "see the fast user switching menu under...". "The option is not serious.
