  Whenever I try to shut down the computer after a few minutes of use, the stop dialog box happens immediately, however, when you do a shutdown or reboot or anything using the dialog box after a few hours, the area takes a few minutes to come. Closing is fine, only the dialog box is slow in coming. I ran all sorts of controls on this computer, there was no virus.   It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

  I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

  To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
