Construction and hosting my own site.

For practice, I want to build and host my own Web site. That said, I have a few questions.
1. should I use Apache or IIS. (I have Server 2003 and 2008 school)
2. must I still pay for a domain name? and
3. where can I go or can give me a step in this process.

    Cheaper is not always better.  You can't really host a site on a slave computer.  You need a server, the expertise to put in place and keep it secure and fast data transmission in and out of her lines.

    Check with your ISP (internet service provider).  Many offer web space free (Verizon, AOL, Yahoo, Earthlink)... which would be OK for a new startup. Later, to better accommodate.

    I do not recommend GoDaddy hosting.  But they are OK for the registration of a domain name.

    For about $5 / month, you can get a hosting package base to LunarPages that comes with all the goodies you'll need.  Excellent availability, 24/7 technical support. A ++

    .NET, .org, .biz, .com, .edu... has nothing to do with the price. Dot com is the best choice for commercial use.  point org is non-profit.  dot net's networks, dot edu is for schools and point biz for shopping or other commercial sites.

    Incidentally. Images in TIFF format are not suitable for the web. The optimized use of jpg, PNG, GIF files or convert to PDF format.

    I think most of the proxies work similarly: they generate a false certificate to the site and have your browser so that they can decrypt and inspect the traffic between you and the site. It is a hassle to have to make exceptions for individual certificates of false - it is more effective to recognize the certificate that the proxy uses to sign false certificates as valid a certificate authority.

    The trick is to identify this certificate. It might be easier to go to IE or Chrome, since both use the Windows certificate store (Firefox uses its own). By inspecting the certificate for a secure site and the certificate used to sign, you may be able to identify and to export this certificate (DER format or .cer).

    In Firefox, you who would incorporate in the section of the authorities in the Certificates dialog box:

    "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced > mini-onglet Certificates > "View certificates" button > mini-onglet References > "Import..." button »

    Of course, it is probably safer to check with your COMPUTER that you've found and exported the correct certificate before you import it into Firefox.

    In the Admin, your right hand side top panel, mouse over your name and go to 'my details '. You will see a check box "Enable online content editing. Check this box, click on save and logout. Connection again and goto site manager, you will see more options like file manager

    So I bought access to the set of CC next so that I can learn new things and develop my abilities, but I mostly just a photographer so outside Photoshop Lightroom I don't have a lot of experience, so if I look ignorant... Well I am.

    I started to build my own site staff with Muse and if I understand I can host through Adobe using one of my five free accommodations included with my sub CC. (I'm still not entirely what this means)  Now I would like to have a forum where registered people can post topics, comments, etc. and it can be animated by myself and everyone that I wanted to leave the moderator status.  I read through several help topics and supposedly I can create a using Business Catalyst?  All the information I found seem to be either exceeded or is not really go more in depth on what I am / have to do to make it work.  If someone could point me in the direction of some more tutorials updated, guides or anything I would really appreciate it.  I don't mind long videos or on a wall of text that I just need to find some current explanations.

    You buy your domain name separately as Adobe doesn't sell domain names. You then have the choice to host with which you got your domain to prevent or Business Catalyst. But yes, the two would be paid separately. Your GoDaddy (if that's where you got your domain name) can have a packed in accommodation with the domain name. You may experience some problems with certain features of Muse as forms hosting on GoDaddy, however.

    I'm not a person of coding, but have picked up pieces here and there. I am a designer who has successfully used the DW6 to design comprehensive and friendly sites over the years.

    A client of mine wants me to create a mobile version of its site, maybe 3 or 4 pages of simple information, with a link to access the original site if they want more information. I understand that in today's world, by creating a new 'website' from scratch I'd the user friendly site for different devices. This site is a comprehensive, very complicated and deep site, created several years ago. If they let me such what.

    In simple terms, what is the easiest way for me to create a 'new' mobile' Web site from scratch. Having nothing to do with my existing site pages (except including a link to the version full).

    I have questions like, I'm starting a new site folder? How the unit is not known when they type in the field on a mobile device to access the 'mini' version and not to go to the main site (and visa versa). I have no problem in designing a cool site of 'mini' research from scratch, as its own site.

    Once you are done with your SeasonFive, click on publier publishing in Muse, select New Site from the drop down, it will ask for a name for your site, which will be used for the url of the site, you will get a url like mysite.businesscatalyst.com, then the browser and connect to the admin panel, mysite.businesscatalyst.com/admin and dashboard Click the launch site. This will push your live site, and then you can add your custom domain.

    Your site is a CCM that is located on a WebBasics plan (this plan does not e-mail hosted on Business Catalyst).

    If you want to create the email addresses on this site, you will need to configure your mail elsewhere server and configure the MX records on your site to point to the external mail server.

    If you want to use the hosted Business catalyst e-mail services, you should use a WebBasics + or superior siteplan. To upgrade your free CCM site, access administration area of your site-> Site Management-> upgrade now-> choose the desired site plan and billing frequency-> Add personal and credit card details-> Submit.

    Lets start things to say that I'm a graphic designer and I have some knowledge of HTML and CSS coding to some extent. I have developed Web sites in the past for personal use and use of client who succeeded in what they want the site to achieve, but the thing I am struggling with now at this time is to find a place for my users, customers and visitors can interact with the Web site whether in discussing topics on the home page or the news feeds or for allowing them to publish their own sons entirely.

    I looked in these so-called CMS systems floating around there but surely there must be a way I can let my users and moderators of the site to change/add/comment on the content on the website purely residing in Dreamweaver and not have to outsource to these sites for CMS.
