Contacts and Windows mail accounts
I need to set up a different e-mail account in windows mail. This account using my contact list current, or separate? I really wish to be separate, since I use an account created for the not-for-profit club.
Original title: I have windows 7. my email is * address email is removed from the privacy *. I tried to add another user to my account and, in doing so, I deleted all my contacts and e-mail site. I tried on another computer.
I have windows 7, which came with my computer. My email is * address email is removed from the privacy *, I got that email for years. everything is on this site. I have no access. I was trying to install another user to my email and in doing so, I deleted my * address email is removed from the privacy * email. I tried it on another computer at the library and I still have no access. I use another e-mail on the same computer * address email is removed from the privacy *. I tried the control panel and others for a solution, but now I've pretty much given up.

Hope this information is useful.
I use Windows Mail 6.0.6000.16386 version (vista_rtm.061101 - 2205) on my Vista machine.
T1) when I synchronize my contact numbers of my mobile (Nokia) to my Windows Mail Contacts using the supplied software (Nokia PC suite), I find that if a certain person/entity contact stored in mobile, to say Mr. X or Company Y, 4 phone numbers, only 1 or 2 of them get copied into the Windows Mail contacts folder other numbers not copied anywhere. What is the reason for this, and how can it be rectified it IE. all the associated with a given contact phone numbers must be copied across everything by synchronizing?
Q2) I have 2 mobile, each for himself, and wife. Each mobile has its own set of contacts. During synchronization with Windows Mail, I found that all the contacts from mobile 2 copied in a single database of Contacts in Windows Mail and vice versa so in each mobile. So my contacts appear in the motive of my wife, as well as its own contacts, contacts appear in my mobile, as well as mine. Is it possible in Windows Mail by which we create separate databases for each set of contacts in the mobile phone, so that when you run a synchronization between my phone and Windows Mail, only my contacts updated in 'ma' database and in my phone, then when the mobile synchronization of my wife with Windows Mail and only its contacts updated in 'his' database and his mobile phone.
Thank you very much!
I think many other users of Nokia's reported problems with this PC Suite software. I suggest you look on the Nokia forums for support with this specific software, as it is a question of Nokia PC Suite and not a Windows Mail or Windows issue.
As for your second question, you need to create a second account using Windows Mail and helps to keep the boxes to the letters and separate records:
What happened to e-mail identities?
I am the administrator on my PC. Have no harm to add to my contacts in Windows Mail. Secondary accounts on PC cannot add contacts to their contact book. They get the message "an unknown error has occurred during the execution of the action requested on this Contact". Any idea?
Hi Mark Go cards,
Are a. you not able to add contacts at all?
B. from when what happens?
C. an error with the message code?
D. recent changes made on your computer?
Try this step.
1. open Windows Contacts
2. right-click anywhere in the right pane.
3. Select "Properties" at the bottom of the list
4. click on the tab 'Customize' on the 'Properties' page that opens.
5. change the 'Type', 'Contacts' folder
6 try to add a contact and check if the problem persists.
Manage your contacts

I want to transfer my contacts from windows mail to my comcast email contacts. Help, please
See if it works. Open Contacts in WinMail and file | Export (perhaps other address book) and export into a CSV to the desktop and then follow these instructions (#3) for Outlook Express.
How to export my Contacts in Windows Mail (CSV format, for example)?
See if that helps you.
See you soon.

original title: Windows Mail Contact List
Due to a problem of software of Samsung download many of my contacts in windows mail has been copied several times. I need to remove hundreds of duplicate contacts. Will never delete one at a time. Can you advise how to highlight that both 30 and remove at once? Thank you
These keystrokes work in most lists in Windows:
Press DELETE to remove the selection. You will find it easier to select multiple items in the Contacts folder, if you select view > Details.
- Click on an item to select it;
- Click on an item to select it, hold CTRL and click on either one to be selected at a time;
- Click on an item to select it, hold the SHIFT key and click another to select both and everything in the meantime;
- Click on an item to select it, hold CTRL and press A to select all the items.

Original title: How can I export contacts from Windows Mail in a single folder. It seems that export all? Help!
Trying to export contacts to a folder only in gmail, but cannot select one.
There is no option in Windows Mail to export a specific contact group.
You can export all contacts to Excel and edit/print as you wish.
Follow these steps to export the Windows Mail Contacts to Excel:
a. open Windows Contacts by clicking on the Start button, all programs, and then clicking Windows Contacts.
b. on the toolbar, click on export and then click on the CSV format.
CSV (Comma Separated Values). It is a format of generic file used to export or import information to and from databases or spreadsheets.
c. click Export, select a folder where you want to store your contacts in the new format and then click OK.
d. when a message appears telling you that the contacts export process is complete, click OK and then click Close.

I had a go at some of the solutions I've seen for this problem but have had no luck yet, I wonder if Miss me something?
So, I can receive emails without problem (in Windows Live Mail and Windows Mail), but don't have had no success sending (although I can always send mails when I access my account online).
The fixes I've tried so far are:
-through my account settings and to ensure that they are as indicated by my email provider (I have an ntlworld account). IE POP3 and SMTP settings must be correct.
-then I tried to check the box "my server requires authentication" (did not work)
- then I tried completely disabling my firewall/anti-anti-virus/e-mail protection (ZoneAlarm) who also worked
- then I tried to install an update of sorts for Windows Mail (not Live Mail) (found on a Board communities, sorry can't remember which, but it was an official update from microsoft)... and it does not work
-Finally, I tried to install Windows Live Mail... and Yes you guessed it, that does not work either (I also checked the settings etc.)
....... I wonder why things have to be so difficult?
Can someone please tell me where I'm wrong!
This is the error message I get:
The connection to the server has failed.
Subject 'Test '.
Server: 'smtp.ntlworld.com '.
Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Secure (SSL): No.
Socket error: 10060
Thank you very much

To solve the problem of sending (at home) once for all, you need to replace the Server SMTP from Orange to smtp.ntlworld.com. I don't know, what if Orange will allow you to keep your return address of NTL, when sending to Windows Mail. It's worth a try.

How can I move my contacts from "Windows Mail" app list in Vista to Windows Live Hotmail online? I can't find the Contacts file to download. Why is it so difficult?
When you use Windows Live Hotmail and the question you have posted is related to Windows Live, so it would be better suited in the Windows Live community. Please visit the link below to find a community that will provide the best support.

I use Windows Mail on my laptop. I'll buy a desktop in addition to the laptop computer, nd want to know if I can run the same Windows Mail account and have the fully synchronized 2, IE for both laptop and desktop at the time of sam. Using Windows Vista.
If your Web host/ISP e-mail allows using IMAP rather than POP is probably the easiest way.
Check with them if they take in IMAP support and how to configure your e-mail client (Windows Mail) accordingly.
Why, all of a sudden, every time I turn on my computer do a small box saying to compact (or something) my Windows Mail account? I've NEVER used Windows Mail! How can I stop this box from appearing when I turn on my computer? & Why it just started appearing in the last two weeks?
Windows Mail is actually installed. If you have installed Windows Live essential, without disabling all applications, chances are that Windows Mail has been installed.
Check out this link: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-desktop/turning-off-windows-can-compact-your-emails/1cf6357b-8563-4ae5-ad0f-31baaaaaa9bf which may be able to solve your problem.

Can I have my mail sent to both Outlook Express on my PC and Windows Mail on my laptop?
How to import mail from my XP computer on the Vista laptop?
None of this is related to the Windows 7 forum. However:
A: If both computers use the same e-mail address, on both machines:
Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced - Check: leave a copy of messages on the server.
On a single computer only, make sure to delete messages after X days to satisfy your allocated space that you get from your server.
B: import messages into Windows Mail from Outlook Express
