  It sounds like your computer guard stop on its own, and the only way you can get it to come is to unplug for a while. If you get some sort of error when the computer restarts, take a look at this article:

  If this isn't the case, then I suggest starting in safe mode to delete a few caches as well as system-level to check and fix if necessary startup disk.

  I have a Satellite L500 and I did a re image at the factory on the parameters of the box.
