Contacts in Windows Mail doesn't have to 'Make a new Contact Group' in the toolbar
I'm unable to create a distribution list, because the option 'Make a new Contact Group' does not appear in my Contacts toolbar. Also the "Add a new Contact" option does not appear in the toolbar. The only options that appear are «organize...» Display... Burn. " I don't get any menu when I right click on the toolbar.
I use Windows Vista Home Premium on a laptop Gateway.
I also found the answer!
As said above Nimbostratus, but here's another way to do the same.
OPEN your contacts folder
In the left column of the screen, you should see your CONTACTS folder. Right click on it.
Who should bring up the menu drop down and then click on PROPERTIES.
One of the tabs is called CUSTOMIZE. Click on this
The first line says: "what kind of folder do you want?
I bet you anything that he does not say CONTACTS just below that!
Change it to CONTACTS and all your problems 'create a new contact group' are now solved...

Windows Mail keeps Inbox fill because emails are not be deleted on the mail server.
original title: Windows MailI use Windows mail. I have a new problem, but did not any changes in the computer, service or software. My Inbox guard fills, because as I delete messages on my computer, they are not deleted on the server of the 'Charter '. I have to go online to my account of the Charter to actually remove the messages. I don't know how to find the setting in Windows Mail that I need to change that.
As you can see, it is not the Inbox Windows Mail to fill, but the server Inbox.
Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced - uncheck: leave a copy of messages on the server.

I received 5 Lightroom as a gift a few months ago and cannot install it because my new computer doesn't have a CD player. Instead, I downloaded the demo and hoped I could enter a product key, but was never invited. Now, the trial has ended and I still have not been invited, just denied access. What should I do to go on the record as owning this software?
Hi junenfante,
Please see the download links where you can download the installer and activate the product using the serial key.
WIN: Adobe - Lightroom: for Windows
MAC: Adobe - Lightroom: for Macintosh
Kind regards

You must run a swap of platform. Serial numbers are platform specific.
Exchange a product for a different version of the language or platform

Win Mail doesn't have a loop of recovery
Vista - updated w/Win Mail 6.0.6001.180000.
Somehow my email DB has been updated with evil. Win Mail attempted to recover - not successful.
Each launch Win mail is also launching a salvage attempt.
Several folders are displayed - all empty and the first 2 two messages in any folder, new messages are placed have deleted content.
Ran WinUtil 15, all the options.
What to do next?
Thank you
Joe BWhat you have to do is to erase the messages database and try again. The best way to do this is to go to the mail C:\users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows and rename the directory (note that the files are hidden and you must enable the display of the hidden files and folders). Then create a new directory with the same name, so that it is empty. Then you can start WinMail and add your accounts and when it works fine, then you can create new folders in WinMail and drag the eml files starting from the older file directories and drop their above the message list for the folder to incorporate Winmail.
See if that fixes it.

Windows Mail doesn't load/connect. Tried troubleshooting, but nothing works.
My windows email account does not, connect even though I have access to the internet. I have reset the router/modem, but don't know enough to do much else. This is the error message I get:
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'windows mail', server: 'pop.telus.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, secure (SSL): Yes, Socket error: 10061, error number: 0x800CCC0EThanks for your help.1: has this ever work? Windows Mail is the name of the account? (It's weird).
2: connect directly to the modem. Not better?
3: disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:
http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email
http://thundercloud.NET/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htmNote that for many AV programs, it may be necessary to uninstall the program and reinstall in custom Mode and uncheck e-mail scanning when the option is available.
