  In the Desktop Manager

  Click Organizer > settings > calendar > advanced.  Check your mappings.  I don't have mine to install like this, so I can't check what should be the mappings.

• Sync Contacts Outlook of blackBerry Smartphones 0x80040fb3 error Code

  Suddenly this week, after a (miserable) sitting at the center of tune-up of Microsoft Windows Vista, BB Desktop Manager ceased to recognize a connection with my 8220, although my computer has. The trick of removing battery was invaluable in allowing the re-installed Desktop Manager (4.6) to recognize the connection.  But now, I can't get my Outlook 2003 Contacts sync with my address book.  Loading stops at one-third of grace (always on the record 174 55) with error Code 0x80040fb3 (consult the documentation...). Anyone know what this error code means and if there is a work around?

  I never learned what was the error Code, or even which RIM could provide an answer.  The solution was to find the list in my Outlook Contacts with a corrupt field.  It turned out to be a record that had no reserved space for an image.

• Problems sync outlook blackBerry Smartphones and blackberry Pearl 8110

  I have a similar problem with my Blackberry Pearl 8110, Desktop Manager 5.01 and Outlook 2003 SP3.

  When I try to synchronize my contacts from my Blackberry to Outlook, the process gets thru 'Read in the device address book' 90 and 90 files without problem.  It starts the process following "Treatment Device Address Book" and gets 86 90 files and stops and a pop error message window: [title bar] Intellisync. It has a red circle with 'X' white and says "Unable to read data from application." with an ok button.

  I uninstalled Desktop Manager 5.01 twice, deleted the folder Intellisync following "KB11703" with no luck.

  In the Intellisync [C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Research in Motion\BlackBerry\Intellisync] folder I found this file: PtTrace.log (see below):

  I'll guess that you're on Blackberry Enterprise Service (as opposed to OWA via BIS). You may need to work with your BES admins for all this:

  But I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for. If you want to show on your BB, messages in these folders that existed already at the time wherever your BB was originally set on BES, who is not quite possible. Some may be able to be made available on your BB, but BB are not only designed as complete a replica of the mailbox... rather, they are designed to help work with the new emails. For some older posts, have your BES admins investigate it thus:

  The top on my Q5 button doesn't seem to work - I have to push several times (5-10) to get the screen to close - and sometimes holding, and often I find myself all just stop the device.  But if I leave the screen on, I find myself at Pocket-dialing.

  It becomes very frustrating, as I wait for the device to start the device whenever I want to make a phone call.

  The seller States that since it is a problem of 'material', I need to contact BBerry, but all I can find are these support forums, although people very friendly and helpful, are not the representatives of BBerry.

  How can I contact BBerry for this lemon out of my hands?  It did not work properly for more than a week since I got a year-and-a-half ago.

  There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

  Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and fixed (size: 512 MB in your case) space that is available to the House of the OS itself, as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs).   Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

  I had problems with my touch screen not working not.  After searching online it was suggested that the software might require the upgrade so I downloaded it.

  Now, my phone got lock up to 16% of the backup is complete.  I can't at this point that every time I turn the phone on it get to the same point and stop.  The battery hold a charge then over heating and I have to turn off the phone and remove the battery.

  I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

  It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

  If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

  But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.
