  Thank you for your answer, I'll try what you suggested and get back to you. Maybe what I should add was that the problem was still there when the library was cleared of all photos, and all tags have been removed. I hope that this extra point tied you current suggestion.

  iTunes is not aware of what you delete everything on your iPad.  If you have turned on automatic downloads, iTunes will download your purchases to the computer regardless of what is happening on your iPad. However, you can disable this option in the preferences to store.
