Continuity Tester

I am new user of Labview, my request is to build a complete fuctional Tester, I need to test continuity onseide 32 male pin other side is 32 female connector, continuity from one to the other point, I need your help to custmise the material and a code, I decided to use NI USB-6211, USB switch and it's just help me find the right instrument.

I was thinking the 6509 (I should say 32 inputs and 32 outputs) and with that, you can also check for shorts. With a pull on the release, a piece of low driving and detect a depression at the other end will confirm continuity. If you alternate signals (i.e. 10101 etc.), if you detect a 0 when you expect a 1, adjacent pins are shorted. With two entries, fully test you continuity and adjacent shorts. Simple, fast and much cheaper than the 6211.

Ah, you use DIO instead of I.  It's ingenious!

  • 2515 PXI to Dut connection bus

    Hi all

I am trying to connect a SMU through the PXI-2515 until a rod of IC to do a continuity test (protection diodes), I have already confirmed their presence on the bench equipment.

I use the VI "niSwitch make the connections on a switch" which I modified. everything seems to work when you establish a connection of busa or busb to dutctrl5, dutctrl4, dutctrl1 and dut31 by dut26 very well. Please refer to the following diagram: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/375472A-01/switch/2515_independent/#MakingAConnection

However, if I try to connect to any other had #, it seems as if the switch will not close.

On the diagram, I guess channel 1 on the VI "niSwitch channels Connect" should be "busaiso0" and channel 2 should be "dut25" to establish a connection; I have no errors but I can say that the switch not close, because I've reached the limit of compliance I set.

You are supposed to close sort of switch between "busa" and "busaiso0"? What should I include VI 'niSwitch control an individual relay' somewhere do? Thanks for your suggestions / or help.

    Juan

    Hi Juan,

When I tried to make a connection between busa and dut25 I got an error path does not exist.  Based on the hardware Schema to actually do separate connections between the busa and other buses on the PXI-2515.  If you do the busa-> busaiso0 connection at the same time you do the busaiso0-> dut25 connections then busa must be connected to dut25 without error.

The same strategy to go further to the top of the bus.  For example, to connect the busa to dut0, you will need to perform the following connections:

    • BUSA-> busaiso0;
    • busaiso0-> busaiso1;
    • busaiso1-> busaiso2;
    • busaiso2-> dut0;

    I hope it's useful!

  • Automatically update the drivers via WSUS 3.0 SP1

    Posted November 16, 2010, 15:51

    Hello

Recently at the company that I work we started pushing updates to the video card driver via WSUS. While users have no problems of installation, we had difficulty to automate the process. Basically, we have 7 computers that are run continuous tests that cannot be interrupted, except for 430 in the morning when they restart. We have a script that does the reset and we try to make these computers to install updates before restarting. I tried WuInstall, Remote X Reboot, this script:http://www.wsus.info...?showtopic=7298 and this: http://msdn.microsof...28VS.85%29.aspx where all work, ideal for installing Windows updates but none of them install updates of the driver as well! The updates appear as high priority and all other updates installed without problem, every single script/program that I use to try to automate the updates says "No update available" even if the Windows Update icon is still there. We tried this on Windows XP and Windows 7 computers and got the same result, we use WSUS SP1 on Server 2008. Any help/link to a program/script would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Please repost your request in the Forum of WSUS.  Thank you! Carey Frisch

  • Group VI freezes after throwing a panel near

I am under Labview 15 and try a very basic VI to impliment into my full program. I will be essentially four stations for the acquisition of data running and you don't want closure if one of them is running the program. So I have 4 Booleans wired to terminals OR whereas they should throw if one of them is on, or false if they are all off. The problem is when I have one or more on and you try to close the VI it does not close (hooray! this part works) but when I want to continue testing and turning all back off to see if I'm allowed to close if they "do not perform" I can't change anything and my VI is frozen until I have stop.

I'm learning just bare with me program if the solution is very simple.

    Thank you

Yes... The solution is very simple...

The problem is the flow of data.

The Panel closes event records as soon as the VI starts. Unfortunately, the structure of the event is outside the loop so it is never checked. Consiquently, when the event occurs LabVIEW locks the user interface until it can be repaired. However, it cannot service because the structure of the event does not work until the loop stops and you can not stop the loop because LabVIEW is waiting for the event to be repaired...

To resolve this problem, move the buttons inside the structure of the event and put the structure of the event inside the loop.

    Mike...

  • P2715Q, Windows size and location change after the mode 'sleep'

    Hey

After that the monitor wakes up fashion 'sleep', all the windows are in the upper left corner and in different size just before going to sleep. It makes me crazy. Did not help. Found a few registry hacks key, but it can't be that difficult.

    I use following:

View P2715Q Dell, Windows 10 Pro GTX 1070

    Everything is up-to-date.

Really hope you can help me!

    #update 1

It has something to do with how long the mode 'sleep'. I set the Sleep mode function 1 minute, whereas the display 'falling a sleep' and woke up after 30 seconds or more. Everything was in place.

This isn't a question of monitor. It is a video card driver problem. Tiles from 1920 x 1080 uses two P2715Q sewn together by the video card driver to get the resolution of 3840 x 2160. So if the video card driver is slow to initialize the awakening from sleep mode, all open windows and icons are tossed at top left. We see this issue "tile" on AMD and Nvidia drivers. All you can do is to continue testing video card drivers latest when they are released.

    Workaround solution =
    * Spend 90% of your icons to the taskbar or the far left background
    * Close all open windows before allowing computer standby modes

  • A heartbeat of Remote Desktop Client configuration

I have two Windows 7 computers: one is located in a remote location, and the other is in my office running Desktop Client (mstsc.exe) remotely and is connected to the "remote server". I only need to interact with the server if it generates an alert, otherwise, I just need to keep an eye on the remote screen.

If the link to the server goes down due to the instability of the network or a power outage on its end, the RDP Client will not display no error until I try to interact with the RDP session - and then it will take a few seconds before the session expires before the Client determines the server does not respond and tries to reconnect.
This means that unless I noticed that the RDP window has "frozen" or I move the cursor of the mouse on it, I often can't tell I've lost communication with the remote computer.

Is it possible to configure the remote desktop client to continually test if the connection to the server is active when I a RDP session works without having me manually interact with the RDP session?

  • RMAN or duplicate RMAN restore

    Hello

I have a node of RAC 3 11 GR 2 ASM on Windows 2008 and want to migrate on linux with a case only, no cars, but also with the ASM.

It was my idea, remove a node from the cluster and install Oracle Linux, then 11.2.0.3 software.

But I need to get the database on this new linux server, and I thought to restore the most recent backup CARS db

on the linux server, then turn on the DG and synchronize the linux server.

Once synchronization is complete, disconect DG and continue testing.

But I've heard maybe use rman duplicate would be better.

What are your comments, what would you choose to achieve this migration?

    Thank you

You can have a physical standby database set up on top of the linux machine and back it. In this way, you can perform the migration with minimal downtime.

Also try to see what how to migrate has huge ASM database of Windows 64 bit for Linux 64-bit with low minimum time? (Doc ID 1371759.1)

  • VSRM license

    Hello

Should I buy two licenses in the case of actvice active protection?

dose of option restore it requires a license in both sides or only in the protected site?

    Thank you

    vSohill

Protection between tense VSAN cluster sites is not supported with MRS because VSAN is a unique concept of vCenter and SRM requires two. SRM would support switching between the 2 separate groups of VSAN stretched.

vSphere replication can replicate and failover VMs. compared to the MRS. If you're missing:

-Continuously test (MRS. supports test failovers without interruption, is not possible with VR on its own)

Orchestration/Automation (MRS. supports raising virtual machines in a specific order, determined by the dependencies and priority groups.) It uses VMtools to ensure that a virtual machine is fully operational before moving onto the next. VR does not. VR would require a manual failover and restart each virtual computer. This might work for less than 10 VMS, beyond that you will probably run problems.)

-Restoration - SRM will reverse the replication and the Reprotect after failover, VR does not have this feature

  • OptiPlex 960 SFF, 1 & 3 problem code, would someone please help

    Hello

I hope that everyone who reads that it is good and functional to become great.

I asked if someone could help please.

I have an Optiplex 960 SFF.  Food was abuzz very badly so I decided to replace it.  Found that they were very expensive, so looked for a cheaper, I'm not rich, or even ok now...    Found two units tested on ebay for $25 shipped, a lot, I thought, get two because they apparently know often fails.   However, didn't know that I needed units with card connection pico mother or mini ATX.  The ones I bought were from the Optiplex 380.

After graduating from them, I thought I could cut the old pico or mini connector atx and old wire and reuse.  Use a voltmeter and formatted all the tensions of old vs new, wire colors, etc.  Got all doing just that in the last days, removed the pins with trombone tool, etc...  Welded to the top and narrowing of heat or saved the cable connections, tested the connections to ensure that all voltages were correct and match old unit, etc.

Unit is installed again, son were a little long, but everything worked very well.  Summer update w7 64 from the microsoft site, had a lot of downloads that the os was recently re - install.  About 3/4 through the installation of 120 updates the computer just went poof (no noise or smoke) and just off black screen.  Thought that maybe something happened with updates, waited 2 minutes and turned the system back.

Now the system does not start BIOS, get the codes error 1 & 3 with color flashing amber, repair indicates might be the motherboard, power supply or problem devices.  I tried re-booting etc, stirring 24 motherboard connections pins, once it has started up, but left shortly after.

So, anyone got any ideas on what could have happened?  The LED on the back 'lights up' when you push the button ps, so the manual says motherboard might be bad.  Can any ideas on how I tell if it's the motherboard or something else?  I re-tested the motherboard 24 ps connector pins, all voltages are correct, and even all ground wires are works well according to Continuity test.  I'm just a beginner computer repairman, so any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you, Joe

    Hello

Hope everyone is doing well this week, living longer.

The new ps has seemed to work, went to post fine and then the operating system loaded correctly.  Ran that all updates to the os and the pass mark burn in test and performance of programs.  All of this work to the original specifications.

Therefore, the solution = get exact dell p/n replacement or exact equivalent by technical support dell or knowledge of the forum.

In this case an oR225m worked as replacement for R225m [235e-00] in a unit with the Core 2 quad processor T9600.

Wouldn't try to rewire a new card connector mother atx mini/pico on another unit.   I pulled all the pins and welded the new connections of the cables, all the tension and tested as valid patterns, but still apparently failed ps.  Not sure if optiplex 380 ch output components are somehow different model 960 or if just one that I did not.   Spec on the 380 unit tensions were still with the exception of a different on an exit of a volt.  Including substitutes research of time spent, many hours reworking new unit, disassemble several times and others, he still do not finish work for a long time.  It worked well for 15 minutes then failed.  , Therefore, just try and find a new replacement unit or two units, as apparently these units fail ps are somewhat often become scarce.  PS units drawn never used 'new' units that have been taken to sell parts are available if you're looking for a lot.  I think that two of them would be enough to last you longer than the duration of the motherboard and associated components.

In addition. the size of SFF has not really enough room for barely any son of length of ps to the motherboard.  The reworked unit I tried had only about 2-3 inches of extra wire and did not always easily or well.  Withdrawal of 20 pins (2 empty pin slots and 2 ground wire (black) needed no adjustment) and all the wires to solder connections took time.

Thanks to especially Osprey and also rdunnill.

  • Single Instance / PAO and Service availability of premises listener at the JRC

    Hello

While doing some failover tests at a client, I noticed the following problem:

    (a) 3 RAC Cluster Linux
    (b) network 'SERVICE1' with the DTC service = Yes flag (or cardinality = 1)
    (c) a listener on each NŒUD

Objective test: make sure that the system survives a failed double earpiece

    Test 1:

    -SERVICE1 NODE1-pending
-Stop listening on NODE2 and NODE3
    = > Result: continued

    Test 2
    -SERVICE on NODE1
-Stop the Listener on NODE1 and NODE2
= > Result: Application cannot connect to the Instance

MY guess is that the application connects to the listening port on NODE3 and is redirected to the Instance on node 1. However since the listener on NODE1 didn't work, he didn't.

I wonder if we miss all the parameters inside the FCAC to make the failover service when its local listener is not registered or if it should be monitored by the dishes of cluster.

I rememer there were some recommendation on the use of two earphones on each node in the presentation of some of the Ora best practice, but I can't find a description of this more.

    Any opinnions?

(Note: I am aware that this is less a problem for nodes multiple services and no problem for complete machine failure).
(Note 2: I don't know if it is a question of RAC or RAC Installation, so forgive my ignorance, if I used the wrong forum)

Published by: Bernd Eckenfels on March 18, 2009 10:53

Ah, I understand now. Yes, the cluster is failover if it's just the listener that is inaccessible - it responds to the event of default instance only. Lose your headset without losing the entire node is probably quite rare, so I guess that you would need some kind of oversight that pick up and draw attention. Although I have to admit that in my many years of management of RAC databases I know never the listener down on its own.
