Continuous Mac access vacuum superdrive

My MacBookPro guard [loudly] access his empty superdrive drive.

When I opened my MBP and randomly, sometimes...

Can someone suggest a method to reset that stop at this?

When you turn on the MBP, the OSX did an audit of the DVD player.  It's normal.  Otherwise it should not do.

Try SMC and NVRAM resets:

    Hello

Our network uses multiple switches Dell 2848 and we want to restrict access to the network to a certain group of MAC addresses.

Someone at - it experience of this?  In the menu, I see this option ' home > switch > Network Security > Access Control Lists > MAC Access Control Lists'.  I can't find any explanation of this function in the manuals PDF I downloaded wasn't so not sure if I was in the right place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This allows in fact to only allow the MAC addresses you want. There is an inherited deny this rule at the end of the ACL.

You must first make a MAC ACL rule and then apply this rule to the desired interface. You can learn more on page 657: http://dell.to/1WFiTWT

It can also be configured through the CLI. The CLI guide includes some info and examples onpPage 276: http://dell.to/1SVu3Bp

  • Click on continue permanent access

Installed Win7 on a new box. All obtained.  Then, it's time to pass the software/data.
Get out the hard c of the old XP box drive and he hooked via a Sata to USB connector.

It is the way in which I updated windows for decades.

When I click on my old XP c: drive H drive.  I get the message that you do not have access "click on continue permanent access. Nothing a little gray bar may look like a progress bar goes from left to right.  Once it is finished I click H drive again and it starts all over.  I guess that Windows help by modifying the ACLs on the disc.  I like that is not where I want to put the reader in the old box.

Same thing happens in I start to explore and run as administrator.

So, I ran msconfig/system configuration and set UAC to never notify.

Now when I open Explorer Favorites/Desktop/libraries are the only thing showing and the icons are going round in circles.

If I put c:\ in the menu bar I go computer with drive c but not d or H I also get the return of the gray progress bar.

After about 5 minutes the gray bar crosses, but all the icons are always stirring.
It was about 20 minutes and still no display, while stirring.

If I go back, I can sail very well.

Anyway to use explore to watch my old XP c drive.  Would a bounus if none of the ACL to change also.

    Thanks Chuck MCSE NT4, Windows 2000, 7 n00b

I gave up and just connect the drive to an XP laptop and worked on it.

  • How can I allow one of my children to use local applications, while temporarily blocking his access to the Internet and while allowing children to continue to access the Internet?

I have three children who have separate user accounts on our two computers. Both computers running Windows 7 Home Premium edition. We use Windows Live Family Safety on each computer to our parental controls for defining when and what each child can access. We used the period of parental control feature to block every child signed to computers, except when we allow. (It would be nice if we could block a computer and allow them to use the other.)

However, I can't find a way to allow a child to not use the computer for local activities (for example, Microsoft Word), while blocking its access to the Internet. I also want to allow his brothers to continue to use the Internet during this time.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

Windows parental control have no option to directly block access to the internet in a Windows user account, because the system needs to provide activity reports. To work around the problem, you can block all internet browsers available for this user account so that the child have no way to access the internet. Restriction of the app to access the control that installed programs on the computer children.  Here are the detailed steps to block some apps:

    1. on any computer, log on to the parent account for http://fss.live.com

    2. click Edit settings under the name of the child you want to change the settings and then click the App restrictions.

    3. check the circle next to turn on the restrictions of the app.

    4. check all programs related to access to the internet or type the application in the area of Search apps .

    5. check the box next to the application or the program once it appears in the list.

    6. click on Save.

This settings apply only to that specific user account. If you have any other questions, please let us know.

  • WRT54G w / Macs - access modem drops on sharing

I have a WRT54G (v8) connected to an Actiontec DSL modem. Connected to the router are a Macbook Pro and a Mac Pro, both wireless and a Wii via ethernet.

Everything works fine as long as I don't have access to other machines. For example, if I want to browse files on my Mac Pro (office) of my MBP, I can 'see' the office and connect. But as soon as I try to transfer files, I lose the connection with the Actiontec modem. The transfer is carried out correctly, and when I check the WRT54G, everything seems fine. But I have to manually restart the router to restore communication with the Actiontec modem.

For clarity, before I try to transfer, can I connect to the Actiontec. When the connection dies, I can always get to the Linksys router, but a restart of the screen of the admin does not work - I have to physically disconnect and then reconnect the power on the Linksys.

(PPPoE) modem has wireless disabled, and I use WEP. Once I reboot the router, everything works well again.

Any ideas on how to avoid this problem?

Smaller MTU on the WRT to 1350 and cycle power to the router. Now, check.

  • Error: "you don't have permission to access this folder. ' Click on continue having access to this folder continuously ".

Original title: cannot access files on a folder on the drive hard usb after you have turned off sharing on a network.

About a week and a half, I have set up my external hard drive usb to share on my network domestic as well as my brother could access some files on his laptop computer.  I've been playing with the security of some of the files on the hard drive and made sure that he could not access some of them.  I don't remember exactly what I did unfortunately.  After I had changed the security access, I was still able to access all files and my brother could not access it.  He got the files on the hard drive and I turned off my computer.  A few days later, I tried to access the files that I had limited and I was stuck.  When I went back in the drive to recover some files, I received an error "you don't have permission to access this folder.  Click on continue to have access to this folder permanently. "When I click on continue that another dialogue box comes up saying"you refused permission to access this folder.  To access this file you will need to use the Security tab. "I click on the link to Security tab and another dialog box appears asking"to continue, you must be an administrative user with permission to view this object's security properties.  Do you want to continue? "I'm obviously the administrator because I have this computer and I'm the only account on it.  From this point, I don't know what I do or what I'm supposed to do to recover my files.  I played a bit with a couple of things and I was able to get into certain folders, but its an extremely long process that I don't have the time for.  A side effect of which in fact so I can see the files, is that for any movie file, I try to access it, I get an error.  When I try to open it with Windows Media Player, I get the error "Windows Media Player cannot access the file.  The file may be in use (which is not the case), you won't have access to the computer where the file is stored (which is not supposed to because the computer on which it is stored my personal computer), or your proxy settings are may not be not correct (what?). "If I try to use another program like VLC media player, I get a similar problem where an error comes up saying that it was impossible to access the file.  I can see the file and see the properties but I am unable to actually see the film.  I can't move the file anywhere because I don't have administrative rights.  I'm under Windows 7 Ultimate, and if someone could help me please, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Ridley,

I see that this problem is old enough but you (or others) may have problems with it. Here's what I did:
-Got to your hard drive and right click on the folder that is causing all the trouble.
    -Click on properties.
    -Click on the Security tab
    -Then click on advanced
-You will see a window with a few user names. Now click on owner in the tabs above.
-Click on edit, then select the user name you want to open the folder and don't forget to tick the box that says "Replace the owner of subcontainers and objects", then click on apply.
A pop will come which says something like "You have replaced the property for the selected records" or something in this way. It worked for me and I hope this post is helpful for some people.

  • How can I remove list items that have been deleted when I clicked that it continues to view vacuum

How can I remove items from the list that have been deleted when I click on it it keeps showing the empty folder

I gotcha! Here is the list of recent files that Reader displays at startup. You can change this in the preferences of Document Reader.

    1. Choose Edition > Preferences in Windows, or reader > preferences Mac OS.
    2. Click on the category of Documents.
    3. Enter 0 for the Documents in the recently used list.
    4. Click OK and restart Acrobat.

If you wish, you can go back and enter something other than 0 for this parameter, once the list is allowed to go out.

  • Restrict access to the network on 871 router via mac address

    Hello

I have a Cisco 871 router and I am trying to allow only specific MAC addresses access to the network. Is there a way to specify that only specific MAC addresses are allowed to access? Any other MAC access will be denied?

I can either have static IP or DHCP for local machines.

Can I use this "secure DHCP IP address assignment" details found here... http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_2t/12_2t15/feature/guide/ftdsiaa.html ?

    I use these...

    static Mac address table

    OR

    Security table of Mac addresses

    ... to achieve this?

    Thank you.

You can use "mac-address-table static" If you know all the mac addresses that will be connected.

If the router is by distributing ip addresses so you can indeed do secure IP DHCP address assignment.

Note that you can make a 'mac access-list' switch and aplly in any vlan you want.

Alternatively, you can do "dhcp snooping" allowing guests who got a dhcp ip addresses and are not identity theft.

    I hope it helps.

  • VNC access can be allowed safe?

I recently came home and noticed that my iMac was doing something weird. It seemed that someone was remote control desktop and display something which relates to access to an account of the Wells Fargo Bank via a browser. I pulled the ethernet cable and rebooted the machine, and after a forced restart found that there was a kind of screen remote control application installed on my machine (I made no remarks and can't remember what they called the app) and my backup drive was locked up. Fortunately, the backup drive was only a matter of changing the permissions of the owner. I wiped the drive, reinstalled OS X (El Capitan), retrieved my data from a backup, and everything seems OK.

I want to know is that there is a safe way to allow remote access to my computer or not. I still had ssh and vnc active and enabled for these services on my router, port forwarding so that I can access my machine remotely. I have no idea how my machine was robbed, but I guess it's to guess the vnc password. (The vnc password was also the admin password, which would explain how they managed to install the software). There are vnc on El Capitan vulnerabilities that allow a user access without password? Several times looking for different passwords an effective attack in this case? Allowing the two-factor authorization should take care of password guessing if this is the question.

I would really like to be able to continue to access my machine remotely, but only if this can be done in a more secure manner. Thanks for useful tips on how this can be accomplished.

  • iCloud: 2 universe for 2 users on 1 mac (sierra)

My husband and I share a PowerMac. We each have our own iPhone and iPad. We each have a distinct Apple ID, account and storage iCloud plans.  We want that our a PowerMac to support our two Apple ID iCloud/two distinct worlds. In this way, certain content on our mac, accessed by 1 Apple ID user and reader iCloud is related to and can be synchronized with user 1 Apple mobile devices. And content accessed with 2 Apple ID user and reader iCloud is related to and can be synchronized with user 2 Apple mobile devices. Basically, I don't want some of his stuff on my devices, and he doesn't want that some of my stuff on their devices. I mean, by substance, music, books, photos, videos, e-mails, messages, same brand-pages and playlists. We would like to share some information on the mac, like contacts, passwords (keychain?), calendar, a few photos, files and business-related content. Most of the music library (which he doesn't) is saved on separate disk.

When I tried to sync my iPad with our mac, iCloud account seemed to be at the top of the hierarchy on the mac. I was asked to sign to her iCloud account and sign in mine. But when I signed on my iCloud account, I saw the message that I am already connected to my iCloud account. This caused his e-mail on the mac to disappear as well as everything else under his iCloud account.  Family sharing with the iCloud parameter does not provide the solution because it also requires a primary account (the Organizer). We want to separate but equal iCloud universe on mac.  Any suggestions?

As far as I know, what you're describing or thinking of doing is a nightmare, and I don't think it's possible, i.e. some of your data on its account and vice versa.

I am trying to burn a DVD - a first in a long time.  My circa 2010 Mac Pro with Superdrive is eject the DVD-R discs, but fortunately plays DVD movies and CDs.  When you insert a DVD-R, the drive through 2 cycles of what seems to be the reading of the disc, then automatically opens the Superdrive drive door.  No idea what this problem is?

    Thank you.

Try a cleaning disc. different lasers are used for reading and writing CD and DVD, and so perhaps only a dirty laser lens.

Cold otherwise be hardware problem with the drive.

  • Satellite A300 - Continuos HDD access with WinXP SP3

I recently bought a Satellite A300 (PSAGCE) with Windows Vista installed: I resized the main partition of Vista and installed WInXP Sp3 on a new partition.
Everything went well, thanks to the Toshiba support site full of work XP drivers.

I noticed that randomly the HDD LED is on and the operating system is continuously disk access: this happens as soon as I open a new window of Windows Explorer, explorer.exe freezing and refusing to close the PC.
But this is not the only cause of the problem: HARD drive sometimes starts to be consulted while I am using a generic application (this is not the same each time).

I was thinking a chip or a problem of control of storage, but I installed the latest drivers of Toshiba/Intel.

    Any idea?
    Thank you!

    I think it's normal.
Maybe you have a virus or your antivirus program scan the HARD drive. Check it!

I could be that your HARD drive is faulty, but I doubt that.
However, you can test with Drive Fitness Test (Google is your friend).

I'm guessing here but it could be a problem because you are still using XP which is no longer supported by Ms.  Some entities are beginning to restrict access to their databases by computers using XP.

I suggest that you speak with the COMPUTER consultants to the organization where you work.   Maybe you need a different code or COMPUTER consultants can tell you how to change your settings.

  • Configuration of the ACL to restrict access via SSH/Telnet

You want to shoot a SSH/Telnet access to ISP address/IP of my switch interface.  Since the Dells have no strict vty/con interface to apply an ACL I guess I just have to match on an interface instead.  Using the ACL below.  Problem is that applying it kills telnet/ssh sessions completely and does them in.  Replaced the iPs in the wrong example with IPs.  Confirm that my public IP address is 112.94.236.58.  You will see a 112.94.236.56/29 with a permit instruction.

Maybe I should use a destination host in the ACL instead?  (edit, nope, tried with a subnet of 255 s all, same problem)

The ACL is created using the command access-list config mode.  On the interface it won't let me use ip access-class.

Figured it out.  Kept, see references to "MACL", think why I needed a MAC access control list.

    Nope.
