Control Automation with Siri on Mac?

Control Automation with Siri on Mac?

I am aware that Siri on a Mac of Sierra does not yet support Apple HomeKit.

As another example illustrating Siri on a Mac is currently quite limited, it is not extensible by developers unlike Siri on iOS.

  • How to configure automation with Apple TV, Homekit and Hue

I have what I believe should be a viable home automation installation: a new brand (4th generation, Sept. 16) Apple TV, a hub of hue with the support of Homekit and seven lights attached via the hub.  The lights appear in the home iPad app and can be enabled or disabled here.  I can also do things with Siri on the Apple TV as "turn one room family", and have the appropriate lights.  Thus, it seems that everything works.

BUT: when I go to the tab "Automation" in the app iPad Home, all I get is a page telling me that I should get an Apple TV to put in place of the automated activities - there is no way to actually DO something.  Am I missing something obvious?  I do this also?  Don't forget that I can control the lights in the House on the iPad, so they certainly know each other...  Thank you!

Looks like you are unable to configure Automation with your Apple TV. I would check that you have everything set up correctly with the steps described in this article:

Automate and remotely to your accessories HomeKit

If everything looks OK, then use the section 'Get help with your home hub' down. Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

  • Two questions with Siri on macOS Sierra (voice quality and call sheet)

I am having several problems with Siri on macOS Sierra...

    (1) the voice is of poor quality. I know that when you upgrade first, you get low quality voice until he had the opportunity to download the high quality voices, but I waited a week and even re-installed Mac OS several times, and I always get low quality voice. Even if I change voice in system preferences. I have macOS Sierra installed on my Macbook w/retina, and the voice quality is infinitely superior. Apple sugarcoat it on older Mac? I don't know that my 4-core i7 is well able to use the voice of the highest quality.

    (2) when I ask him to show my business address, or ask who my brother or finance is, she is confused, as if he can't read my card contact properly. The exact same contact card works fine on iOS 10. I tried turning off the Contacts in iCloud parameters and reactivated so he would be re - download, but it continues to provide partial information of the card. For example, for addresses, they go up like OTHER and display only the city and State, even though I have a full home address listed. I disconnected and connected as my fiancee, and his works fine.

    Thank you

    Dave

Just a quick update - after deleting my contacts, reassignment to a new contact using "Make my contact" (which seems buggy btw - seems not stick) reinstall macOS Sierra twice, disabling iCloud, tilting and contacted him and Siri, etc. etc., it turns out that he was using a contact to my account (?) card, even if I didn't 'Calendar' selected in my Google account. I removed Google in my list of Internet accounts in Preferences system (along with a few others), and now it's using the new map that I created in iCloud. It's weird that it would give priority to my Google account on my iCloud account so much, especially since I have not yet activated contacts?

Still need to understand why the high quality voices will not download.

  • Windows 7 in a pool of office automated with linked clones?

    Hello

It is possible to set up an office pool automated with Windows 7 clients does not use linked clones? I try, but I have not presented the snapshot of the Windows 7 machine... (I know that it is only the technical preview)

    Thank you, George.

Because we create and use x 64 VMs of in vCenter/ESX, you expect everything to work independently of the architecture.  Now, I didn't pretend to have a deep understanding of the functioning of view Agent and composer here.  However, since they are the two required components of cloning and or support x 64 OSes, I guess there is some sort of incompatbility.

I know that I did not give a concrete answer as to why it doesn't work (and I couldn't I a), but I'll throw a few others obvservations I did.  I have already mentioned that the view Agent USB driver does not work on x 64.  When the associated test clones on x 64 OSes, I noticed that I could not select one of the x 64 workstations with snapshots.  Out of curiosity, I created an empty VM Windows XP Professional x 32 (with no OS) and took a snapshot.  I then went through the steps to created an automated pool and was able to pick up the snapshot for the x 32 empty VM XP.  He told me that he has no control on the real operating system for clones related through composer.  They must be carried out an audit on the guest "OS" said when you create the virtual machine and only allow x 32 VMs to serve as parents for the related clones.  I don't know if there is a difference at the level of the virtual material in x 32 vs x 64 XP XP, but it may be useful to create a "Windows XP Professional (32 bit)" VM and install XP (or Win 7) x 64 just to see what happens.

If I have the chance to test this, I'll post.  I'd be interested to hear what everyone said, because I'm very interested in getting x 64 support as well.

  • How to use FaceTime with Siri

I you would Siri have been able to dial phone numbers using FaceTime, so my question is, is it possible? And if so, how?

    Hey MichaelnAvallone,

Thank you for reaching out to help through Apple Support communities. Looks like you are wanting to make calls FaceTime with Siri. If so, I'd be happy to explain how to make this happen. First, you'll want to press on and hold the Home button or say "Hey Siri" to activate Siri. Then, for example, you can simply say, "make an audio call FaceTime to MOM" and Siri will only start a FaceTime call audio. If you say 'FaceTime Mom' Siri will begin a FaceTime call with video of this contact.

The link below shows the ways to learn how to use Siri.

Use Siri on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

    Kind regards.

You can get the replacement system install & Restore CD/DVD of the customer support of Apple - to the United States, (800) 767-2775-for a sum low S & h. you will need to have the model or the serial number of your Mac available.

If you are not in the United States, you may need to go through the regional Apple Store that serves your location to find the phone number. Here is a list of links to all - http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/intlstoreroutingpage.html , another resource: International Support Phone #s.

  • 6 s iPhone Bluetooth will pair with El Capitan Mac but does not connect

My employers very kindly gave me a brand new MacBook Pro running the most recent version (10.11.4) of Mac OS X.  What finish set up I need to pair my iPhone staff 6 (running iOS 9.3.1) to the computer I want to use MacID to secure my computer when I'm away from him.  While the phone would pair (pairing being initiated by the Mac) it would be briefly apply status 'connected' before going to "not connected".  When I then tried to establish a connection, I received the following message on the iPhone:

    Connection failure

    'MacBook Pro' is not supported

and the only option to close this dialog box click the device forget .

I therefore looked on my personal Mac which had previously been paired with the phone to find that he was is no longer listed in the devices Bluetooth, but when I looked in the settings for MacID running on my Mac it says "Looking for iPhone 6 s.  I tried to re-pair 6s iPhone to my personal machine and had the same results.  When I called in my TI guru we tried with his iPhone 6 (also installed 9.3.1) and had the same results.  As it's been a few months since I used MacID on my computer that I don't know when the link has been broken - after an update iOS or OS X update.  Bluetooth linking to my Apple Watch still works perfectly.  I was unable to try this out with any other Mac, I was looking for one with an older version of Mac OS X.

Everyone is aware of this problem or have an idea for a fix?

    TIA

An iPhone will not pair Bluetooth with a computer (Mac or Windows) for one use other than personal hotspot and it will only do that if the carrier is supported. However, there are a number of things will be using Bluetooth between the computer and the iPhone where the devices are NOT matched. More information in Bluetooth: why can not connect my iPhone or iPad with another iOS device or my computer?

The following link for MacID support site has instructions on how to do the installation. It requires Bluetooth to be turned on in the computer and the iPhone, but the rest of the configuration/connection is done inside the MacID app on each device, not normal Bluetooth pairing as follows: http://macid.co/help/?c=Setup & sc = Pairing % 20A % 20device

  • Sync iPhone calendar, contacts, notes with Outlook on Mac?

I have an iPhone 6 s running iOS 9.3.1 I want to synchronize locally with Outlook for Mac 2011 (calendars, contacts, notes) that I don't want my information hosted in "the cloud."  I know that this synchronization option has been removed from iTunes (I currently have 12.3.3.17).  Is it possible to do this with the latest version of OS X Server?

iTunes does not synchronize Outlook more.

OS X Server has mail, calendar and Contacts integrated servers. The protocols supported by the Apple server software are respectively - IMAP, CalDav and CardDav. These protocols, all three are supported by Apple Mail, all three are supported by iOS i.e. iPhones but Outlook for same Mac 2016 Outlook does support IMAP, i.e., it only supports CalDav or Mac OS x Server.

Therefore, the answer would be no.

If you had a 'real' Microsoft Exchange Server, then the answer would be Yes, and if you rather Kerio Connect running on a Mac then the answer is also Yes. This is because both a 'real' Microsoft Exchange and Kerio Connect Server supports Exchange ActiveSync aka. EA is that using the iPhone, which also supports the Exchange Web Services aka. Server Web integrated is that Outlook for Mac support. (Version 2011 and 2016).
