Control of user access rights

I want to do my second drive invisible to the user accounts on my PC. I downloaded a Microsoft program a while, but no longer have it. I don't remember what it's called and if I find it hard to find. It allow you to control access rights. Does anyone know of this program?

Assuming that your second drive is formatted with NTFS, you control access to the drives, folders and files using the 'Security' tab in the properties of the file/folder/drive.  The following article goes into detail:

"How to set, view, change, or remove special permissions for files and folders in Windows XP"

Note that this article deals with XP Pro.  If you have XP Home Edition, you will not have access to the Security tab because Simple file sharing can not be disabled in XP Home.  However, if you start mode (repeatedly tap the F8 key during startup key) safe and open a session as long as user with administrator privileges, you will be able to use the security"" tab.  After properly configuring your security, you can restart your computer normally and will always stick settings.

Alternatively, you can use the 'CACLS' command from a command prompt window, but which becomes ugly.

  • Problem with user access rights invited after the installation of el capitan (10.11.6)

After that I installed OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), I can't change the way the guest user can access applications.

When I change the usage rights of the guest user in Control Panel (user admin), everything's fine. Safari is the only application that I leave available. • CUE 2.3.1 and user access rights

Is it possible to restrict user rights on the personal Web page of CUE? For example, to keep end users change 0-out option? Thank you.

No, unfortunately it is currently impossible to restrict to a more granular level. I guess you could use an IP access list for web traffic captured to eliminate completely from/to CUE for some ip addresses/subnets but I don't think that's what you had in mind.

  • Vcenter 6 - integration vRealize Log Insight user access rights

    Good afternoon.

I'm to deploy the solution to the latest version of vRealize log Insight. In my work asked me if I could create a user account only to integrate Vcenter vRealize Log Insight that wasn't the root of vCenter. Search for documentation, I found information on this subject. Also important to remember that this account will collect newspapers of my hundreds of ESXI.

    In the image below:

It is a demonstration of the integration that I made using the default account with root access to Vcenter.

You must provide credentials user with the following privileges:

    System.View

    Host.Configuration.Advanced settings

    Firewall and Host.Configuration.Security profile

  • level of data access rights

    Hello

In your opinion, what is the best way to implement data access level rights?

Before I used VPD to database 11g. Now, we decided to keep the aggregations in the cube OLAP (AWM 11 g) and I'm looking for the best solution limiting the user access rights to members of special dimension to different levels. For example, we must leave Office Manager to see only its data from team members (and do it dynamically, without having to grant the role of severl hundreds of managers separately), or let product manager see only 3 categories of products.

I am browsing OLAP forum for awhile, most of old son means AW_ATTACH / PERMIT_READ / AUTOGO. Are there other options?

There are two mechanisms available to control that can see the data by user: cube or dimension according to the strategies of security and private virtual database (DPV). Each have their own forces. Many organizations use a combination of the two.

Cube security policies allow you to grant access (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE) to a database user or role. You describe what dimension members a user has access. For example, Europe and all descendants. If the security policy is applied to a dimension, that policy is applied on all cubes that use the dimension. If cube security if applied in the context of a policy, the policy is limited to this cube.

    Cube security policies:

    * Are 'hermetic', because they apply to all access methods (SQL querying the views of dimension and cube, SQL, OLAP_TABLE and CUBE_TABLE, OLAP DML, PL/SQL, queries etc.).
    * Are convenient. Apply a policy to a single dimension, and it applies to all cubes. It is very easy to express security policies by selecting the members or the use of hierarchical expressions in Analytic Workspace Manager.
    * Are limited to users and roles, so the applicability may be limited to certain use cases.

Virtual private database policies are applied to views of dimension, hierarchy and cube. These views using OLAP is not different from any other table or view.

    MEV:

    * Applies only to the objects on which you apply a policy (for example, dimension, hierarchy, and cube views). If you need to make the hermetic policy, you should stop other access methods. For example, revoke execute on DBMS_AW, etc.
    * May take a bit more work to set up, but they offer some additional flexibility because you set the policy with PL/SQL. That's all what you can invent.
    * Can be applied beyond the users and roles.

The key is that both are quite useful. Learn more about the two and use the feature that best matches your request.

I had the same question and posted in this forum 4/17 in order to check the answer here.  Can't say it will solve all of your multiple problems, but you should get full administrator rights.

Re-start while pressing F8 repeatedly.  Select "Safe Mode with command prompt.  At the prompt, type net 'user administrator /access:yes' and press ENTER.  He should then confirm the success.

Restart and you should now see administrator as well as your own journal on.

Note: there is a space between the administrator and the slash.

WARNING: In Win 7 access to some folders and permissions files is limited for security reasons.  Normally, you should not access this and please be careful when using it.

  • How do I give users access to the addition of other users and groups in weblogic * without * giving administrator rights

    Hello

Before opening a SR Oracle for the same problem, just wanted to put it out there to see if we can provide a non administrator user access to the Weblogic administration Console so that it can log and ONLY add users and groups, but not change any setting in the administration console. We offer a personalized access? All grain specific to be accessible?

Please don't give me the links where it says "give read-only access", giving "monitor."

read only user cannot add new users/groups in the administration console. The administrator credentials can be provided to that user. It just has to be able to connect, go to security domains > myrealm and add new users and groups. nothing else.

    Please let me know.

  • Satellite M40-282: I don't have access rights to run Power Saver

I installed GST when I reinstalled my new OS manually
and I installed GST but he did not show up to reinstall after.
In the control panel when I try to click the GST that it says 'cannot be opened because you do not have access rights to run Toshiba Power Saver '.

But I am logged on as administrator for sure

    Hello

It s very strange and unusual.
Have you chosen the right drivers and you have everything installed correctly?

I studied a little on the net and it seems that the M40-282 Sat has a serial number PSM42E and so take the drivers of the PSM42E series.
(On the driver page I saw three different M40 accordingly large number)

I discussed with other users, and especially incorrect installation was the problem. On the driver page, I found a statement of installation, and in my opinion, you should follow the guidelines in this document.
Everything should then work. I hope ;)

    Check it out. Good bye

  • Windows Vista Volume control - several users connected

How can I make Blender see other sound control applications users

    Hello gmayes,

In addition to what Anthony has provided above the quick change of user in Windows Vista is designed to run programs that are specific to each user profile. This means that when you play the music in a single profile and use the fast user switching will continue to play music and the secondary profile will not have access to control the Web pages or the volume of the music played on the primary profile.

Using programs of another quick switch mode user profile is not something that is supported by Vista right now.

  • How can I block the users access to microsoft office?

How can I block the users access to microsoft office?

You must set "" permission to run on each of the Microsoft Office programs (word.exe, excel.exe, powerpnt.exe, etc.) such that the group 'Administrators' and the SYSTEM is allowed to run.  To do this, you do a right click on the .exe file, select 'Properties', then click on the 'Security' tab and change security as you wish.

If you do not have a 'Security' tab, then it is because you have XP Home Edition, or if you have XP Pro with active Simple file sharing.  For XP Home, you must boot mode safe (repeatedly tap F8 at startup key) and login as an administrator to access this tab.  For XP Pro, follow the instructions in the following article:

  • After installing a new HARD drive, I get a screen "control i to access the configuration utility.

    Help?

I installed a new HARD drive on my xps 15 because the old drive crashed. Everything works fine and the system boots perfectly. Before entering the Dell splash screen, the screen "control i to access the configuration utility" appears for 5 seconds. After that, the normal boot sequence resumes. Can someone please explain to me why this is happening and what I can do about it?

Here is a link to the screen I get started: http://s102.photobucket.com/user/alexcinie/media/photo_zpsb75f0a7f.jpg.html

The mSATA drive is used as a cache for the hard drive dynamic - these are essentially implemented in a RAID 0 array.  See the link below (it is for Alienware, but applies to your system as well).

If you want to keep the disk cache, you need to configure the array as shown.
