Conversion of the white areas of the image transparent

Hello

I wonder how to convert transparent in all the white areas of the following image:

john-is-40-black-and-white.png

Essentially, I just created a rectangle black and white text and a star shape. I wish that all areas that are white to be transparent (including black areas under white) so that when I save the artboard in png format areas that are white color will be transparent.

Someone would be able to help me achieve this in Illustrator CS5?

Thank you

Nick

A simple example of piercing group:

1. draw a black filled circle
2. draw a small white circle filled, centered on top of the black circle
3. Select the two and group
4. in the transparency Panel, select the sharp group
5. direct select the white circle with the direct Selection (white arrow) tool
6. in the transparency Panel, set its opacity to 0%
7. file > save for Web: choose PNG as the file format and select the transparency option

Depending on the type of objects you use, there are faster ways like using Pathfinder commands or transparent traces. You can see the as files using these keywords in Illustrator.

  • How to avoid the transparent background, white in smart object (psb) conversion when the image track high fidelity that we have the ability to ignore track of white up to 16 colors.

I have an image psd file in photoshop cc 2014 the layer background transparent. I wanted to convert to vector. The best option I've seen was converted first to a smart object in photoshop by layer-> Smart objects-> convert to smart object. then he exported a CPS. Then I opened the file in illustrator and applied image tracking tool, but the background transparent got converted to white but I had the option to skip white up to 16 trace of color. But in the case of Conversion of high fidelity, the option do not know white is not available, what do I do now?

After using the Trace of the Image and expand the result, just find a part that is filled with white and use Select > same > fill and just delete.

  • Gum changing from white to black on the layer mask, leaving the image transparent.

I used the following method in CS5 to erase parts of a layer/bring these pieces back again if necessary. It works in the same way after that I upgraded to CS6 (not sure if the version difference plays a role or not.)

What I'm doing here is blend two layers that overlap in one of the other

    1. create the layer to the top layer mask

    2. Select pure white in the color selection window

3 select the Eraser tool, set the opacity to 30%, 50%, flow 100% hardness

    4. Select hide, erasing the edges of the image where there is overlap to eliminate hard edges and merge the images into another

    5. when I need to highlight an area of the image at the top (one mixed), I pass the color pure black opacity set to 100%, hardness 100% and paint over the areas that I want to "undo" my deletion.

-Sometimes happens a lot after my initial deletion, so a simple cancellation or who goes back in history is not a possible solution at this moment here.

-Another note: I have to move over the other layers to align as much as possible, make the story do not brush useful in this case.

Previously, this would simply restore the image to where it was originally for this place, by removing completely all masking. Now, when I do this procedure, the area that I'm trying to "undo" is however, as if the opacity is set to a level lower than 100%. This poses problems because I want to have the completely opaque image at this stage.

Some other notes I hope to answer some questions that may arise in advance:

I haven't settled the opacity of one of my layer masks

I tried to do the same operation by using the Brush tool (with 100% opacity and hardness, using the opposite colors), with the same result

As we have earlier I don't know another effective way to achieve the same goal. I'd be happy to do it differently but if necessary.

All the layers in these documents are dynamic objects

    Thank you!

I'm sorry it's so confusing. I guess the only reason why I use the Eraser tool is a vestige of when I was actually erase the image - and also I get the brush and Eraser different opacity value to quickly switch between them.

@Theresa actually, I didn't watch only the mask. Of course the mask was gray in the areas that I was talking about. But that lead me to realize that while the color picker looked purely black and white, I was working with a grayscale image, and it was in fact color and converted to looked at pure Grayscale black and white. I need to set the color of the brush at a certain point, when working in RGB (which I rarely do) and not realised.

Sorry for posting something with such a trivial response, but you all help me to understand thank you!

Your file PS does not contain the parameters of size or page orientation, so the PostScript interpreter you use

simply defines the configured default page size.

As the file defines something as a page covering (the name pagebbox is used), take the fiven values it

to build a State of page size. For example insert

    < agesize="" [792="" 612]="">> setpagedevice

right after the comment lines (lines starting with two percent signs). Forcing your PS interpreter

(condition he speaks at least the language level 2, that I take in silence) to make the formula for a

Letter size page orientation is landscape.

If you really want a portrait orientyation, you need to swap two numbers in the

Statement above and enter the code to scale down the formula.

I have a little graphic, but it has a white background.  I'm new to finally using my PSE 8.  How do I remove the white background and save the remaining image so that the image I only after having removed the white background is that of the element remains in the picture.  I have wan to insert just the image (without the background) in a powerpoint presentation or another tool, but don't want the white background.  I tried a lot of things, but I can't seem to be able to save it as I just have the image.  Can someone help me with detailed instructions on how to do?

    Hello!

Try please select it magic wand tool.

Now click anywhere in the white area in your image. Your workspace should look like this:

Now press delete and you'll end up with a transparent background.

Now for the rescue. If you save this image in JPEG, you will get a transparent background. Select. Type PNG from the drop-down menu when you save the image.

    That's all. Your finished!

You can select and remove several areas in this way by using the magic wand tool.

  • HELP: Deleting background but not the elements of the image that are white.

    Knockout United Away 90.png

Hi, I have a feeling there will be a relatively simple solution to this, but as I'm kinda a noob to photoshop, I have been unable to escape myself.

Basically, I'm eager to have the image attached, printed on a t-shirt. That's why I need to remove the white background and just leave the shirt in the shape of design in the middle. But because there is white on the edges of the design elements when you use the Eraser tool magic, they disappear as well. What is the best way to remove the background while maintaining the design intact?

If you print on an iron on, you don't need to remove the white. As white do not print. It uses the white of the paper.

If you are printing or any other process that prints white. It can be as simple as turning off of this color in the section of the print dialog box color separation.

If all else fails, you can create a background selection and pressing DELETE.

    Hi rsev,.

For existing photos, select all your images in the grid view, and then click the Reset All button in the quick develop Panel. Then click on the auto tone button to correctly apply this feature.

To prevent this from happening in the future, choose Lightroom > preferences > Presets (Mac OS) or edit > Preferences > Presets (Windows). Uncheck the apply auto tone adjustments.

  • When I opened the PS from LR to edit an image, the thumbnail appears in the sidebar, but the area of the image is white, PS CC 2014!

    Hello

I just started a subscription for the Pack of photographers, when I opened the PS from LR to edit an image, the thumbnail appears in the sidebar, but the area of the image is white, I'm sure this is a rookie mistake stupid, but I can't for the life of me see what I did wrong.

With 256 VRAM, you won't be 3D but with the right drivers, you should be able to use the features of PS that don't require 512VRAM and GPU support.  You should be able to see and edit images.

  • Selection tool sensitive to color in a limited area of the image

    Hi all

For my work, I am interested in the measure of the area of pixel of the dark (black) in the sub picture, even the smallest. For less complex images, I used the magic wand and the selection tools to select my black areas and have Photoshop CC 2015 do measures on my selection. Non-continuous the magic wand option unfortunately does not work for me in this case, because some of the dark spots have the same color as the other dark areas in the picture. So far, I only managed to make a good choice by selecting each point individually, which is a very tedious and somewhat subjective work. What I would like is a sort of quick selection tool with a tolerance as the magic wand option, so I can just fly over areas with small black to select tasks that these. I don't think that this is available in Photoshop, I'm looking for alternatives. That would also work for me, it is to have a way to limit the area that the magic wand tool selects objects of. For example, set a small area (as one of the white ice blocks) and then use the selection option discontinuous of the wand in this ice blocks so it will only select the dark stains on the ice block. If I can do this several times and combine the selections, I should be defined as well. Is it possible to achieve such a thing in Photoshop? In other words, what I would basically is the type of features in the background removal tool, but then make a selection in the foreground based on a color. All other ideas, suggestions, tips and tricks are also welcome! I hope my question is clear and that there is a solution for my problem. I'm very new to photoshop, so please be very clear in your answer, so I can understand every step .

Edit: I noticed that I posted this maybe in the wrong part of the forum (?), I was a bit in a hurry at work. My apologies. If there is no matter what mod around to place them in the right sub-forum, please do!

    It works for you?

To see it in full screen, double click on the image.

1 use the curves to increase the contrast

    2. place an empty layer below the image and fill it white

    3. return to the top layer, click on the layer to bring up the layer Style

    4. in the section mixture if move the top left right slider until the black dots you want are isolated.

Also, consider using this technique after the first change the mode to grayscale

  • How you reverse the black text on a white background to white on a black image?

I have a psd that has 3 layers. A white background layer, a layer of text (black) and a black silhouette of myself.

I want the black text to be visible on the white background. The text is placed above the image of the black silhouette, I want the text of white color.

Below is a screenshot for reference.

    How can I do this?

If reverse you the color of white text, it will appear on the layer of black, but not on the white layer. Fooled the text layer and change the color of text on the white text fool layer then add a layer mask which is the area of the black layer visible.  Hide which is not on the black.

    problem.png

Hello. I need to erase this white borderswhen I enlarge the image files in Photoshop cs5.

When I took some courses in Photoshop, I remembered how fix and do more smoothly...

    Now, I totally forget.

The solution could control somethings inside preference... I guess...

Anyway, here, the photo is the horrible headache I'm asking now.

    Please answer my question.

    Thank you very much.

I think you are referring to the pixel grid that shows extreme enlargement. If that's what you're talking about, go to view > view and uncheck the grid in pixels
