convert dvd to play on a macbook
I am trying to convert my West Wing DVD set so I can put it on a portable drive or my macbook for when I'm travelling. I bought the Aimersoft DVD Ripper but an error when you try to convert saying "file of the CCS cannot convert.
On my laptop, I use to use Magic DVD ripper but I can't get this work.
I know it is not possible due to costs but can any advise on this? Otherwise, I've wasted money on the ripper of Aimersoft.
Thank you very much

How to play (or convert) a file .avi on my MacBook Pro?
Probably by installing VLC, but some AVI files can not be played in Mac OS X; AVI is a container, not a format.

Convert DVD in MPEG2 and imported in the first, then turns into a jerky video
Hello, I'm using Premiere Pro 1.5 on Windows Vista. I took in a vintage 8mm film to be transferred on DVD professionally. Once I received the DVD I used a trial of magic to convert DVD video to a MPEG2 file, I then imported it first 1.5 so I could edit it and others. Once it is imported in the first he seems to read fine, but then when I drag the whole of the MPEG2 file down to the timeline it plays back all choppy and spasmically whether it is rendered or not, it's okay. I tried to convert the DVD into an AVI file and said first is not compatible when I tried to import, the only other option in magic was to convert a SVCD MPEG2 I tried and got the same result. I wouldn't have to spend any money to upgrade first or buy another conversion software, but I don't think I have other options at this point, anyone with ideas?
Unfortunately, anything that convert DVD means THAT MUCH original information has gone forever, because the files on a DVD are HIGHLY compressed
Read http://tangentsoft.net/video/mpeg/edit.html for more information on this
To change, you must convert it to AVI DV type 2 with its 48 kHz
I don't mean to edit the files, but saved some links in a section of my notes about editing the files compressed... one of these links can help

You need to rip a DVD? Try MPEG Streamclip or brake hand. Both free. Streamclip better, but much more complicated to install and use.

HP SW830 DVD-RAM: play mini dvd
I bought a camera and the manual comes on a disk that is smaller than normal (minidisc?). My DVD player plays DVDs and CDs of normal size without problem, but nothing happens when I insert this disc. The drive does not appear in Windows Explorer.
Hi, you can view its contents in the file Explorer? The device should come with software that can read/play its format.
Kind regards.

How to convert DVD to mp4 with Windows
How to convert DVD to mp4 using windows media player or something like that? I want to convert to mp4 for my iPod Touch. If possible, I don't want to download any programs like Handbrake, etc., which have suggested other Web sites. This is a DVD that I already own. Once it is converted, how you put on iTunes?
Hello
There is no option in Windows Media Player to convert a file format to MP4 file format as MP4 file format is not supported by Windows Media Player. The only possible solution is to use non-Microsoft program to convert a file format to MP4 file format. To find the right program, check for the information under articles 'And music videos conversion' in this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Convert-music-videos-and-pictures-from-one-format-to-another
I hope this helps.Kind regards

Hey Nineteen-ninety-nine,
Creation of DVD Windows is a feature of Windows 7. With Windows DVD maker, you can create video DVDs that you can watch on a computer or on a TV using a regular DVD player.

Now dvd will play not [scrambled] and computer is crashes sometimes and I have to force the reboot. I saw the reference to System 32 on restart options. Help?

Have you installed Windows 7 device drivers for your make and model. If this is not the case, then go to the support web site factory and download Windows 7 drivers to a folder on your PC and then first install the drivers for the card mother/chipset, followed by USB, SATA, LAN, Audio and all other pilots.
Find the website of your computer manufacturer support.

BIOS updates: you should check to see if there was one, or sometimes several updates BIOS for the motherboard. Read (if provided) which solves the update. Sometimes a newer BIOS update will fix the problem. Read the instructions on how to your BIOS update/flash very carefully and be more you understand the process. There is a risk of a bad flash/update occurs which can make your system unbootable.
Also check the download site of the manufacture of the graphics card for the latest Windows 7 drivers for your card.

Using encoder to convert DVD to a single file (MP4)
I currently have Adobe Media Encoder CC. I have a number of family DVD I want to convert each into a single digital file for online storage. All of these DVDs have menus. If possible, I like the menu part to also convert - I know that of not interactive but its presence will show what everything is.
I know I can convert VOB to MP4 files.
Question 1: Is it possible to convert all the video VTS *. VOB (preferably with the menu) to a single MP4 files?
Question 2: If the above is not possible, is there an option in the SOUL to merge MP4 files into a single file?
Question 3: If the above approach is not optimal, what is the best way to convert DVD files into a single digital file (with or without the part of the menu).
Thanks in advance!
One way to do so must import all the VOB files in a Premiere Pro project, then export the first timeline, either directly or by SOUL to be converted to whatever you like (.mp4, etc..)
I have never tried to extract and include images of the menu, but I guess it's possible.
