"Cooler" for the Satellite Pro L100 plate
I recently bought a Satellite Pro L100 and would like to buy a plate cooler to go with it. After reviewing, the "Antec Notebook Cooler' looks good; but one of the comments mentions that this plate is useless for laptops with contributions on the basis (like mine).
Can someone tell me if this is the case, or recommend an alternative?
In my opinion you n t need any plate cooler. If the laptop is placed correctly on the desktop and nothing interfere with good air circulation.
Sorry, but in my opinion it's futility investment.
I'm looking at the latest version of the bios for Satellite Pro L100 (PSLA1E).
I can't find it on the Web from Toshiba site because it is a product at a reduced price.
The BIOS download page is http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_bios.jsp
The older models, you can find if you use the option product type > Archive.
Your Satellite Pro is in the list and latest version of BIOS is WIN 3.00.
I don't know if there is a problem with your laptop but if everything is working properly and stabile don't change anything.
I currently have a laptop Satellite Pro L100-125, that I've had for a few years now.
It's getting on abit I know, but until recently, he did everything I needed it to do. Unfortunately, I had a small accident and the laptop has been damaged.
Asking for a new home insurance since I'm not able to buy a new laptop for now (being student humble and everything!). The insurance company asked about the damage and the value of the computer.
The damage, I know, this is the current value of the computer that I'm not sure of!
Its probably not much, but if I get it wrong then a number of things can happen!
If I declare that the value is higher than it actually is, they say it's fixable or say that it is a fraudulent application!
If I declare the value too low, then we'll write him offshore but I get a very good replacement (I know it's the lesser of two evils and looks like I'm just try on, but this claim will push my premiums until next year regardless, so I might as well get the best that I can possibly get out of it!).
Anyone happen to know the current market value of a laptop with the specifications below?
The computer is a Satellite Pro L100-125
Intel Centrino Duo T2400 1.83 GHz
2 GB of RAM (512 MB originally)
60 GB HARD drive
Also, just so that I know what to expect, no one knows the approximate cost of replacing the screen and the housing on this particular laptop?
Any help at all would be much appreciated.
Satellite L100 series is already abandoned and it seems no more on the market
The point is that you could buy a new a lot harder for laptop with the best hardware specifications for about 400-500 euros.
I don't have no idea how the fix would cost, but if the screen or motherboard would have died then the repair process could be a costly affair because the display and motherboards are more expensive laptop parts
Need driver for Satellite Pro L100 (PSLA4E) windows xp sm bus controller.
Help, please. Can't find anywhere?
You have listed all the drivers for Windows XP Home edition, of course in the order of good facility?
If you install all the stuff, you shouldn't have any unknown devices listed in Device Manager.
I have the Satellite pro A200 (PSAE4E-03401FDU). The LT has an option for a 2nd hard drive, but it is not included a cable.
Someone knows the reference to the 2nd hard drive cable?
When you remove the HARD drive to the second HDD can see HDD SATA conector?
In Israel, we have this model:
Toshiba Satellite Pro L100-124 PSLA1E - 00500DG 3
I tried to look it up in the computers.
Toshiba - Europe.com, but found nothing?
Why? is it a fake?
Maybe you know it or not, but Toshiba offers many laptops of the same series but the laptop are not very different. Void models are perhaps different in the hardware configuration. You know it; different sizes of HARD drive, processor, etc.
I googeld a little to this numer and I found the laptop on a site of Poland from Toshiba. It s a Polish language:
http://CE.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/JSP/productPage.do?LNG=20&service=CE&PRODUCT_ID=114411 & tab = 3
However, you can visit Toshiba Europe site and you will find the different specifications and also the series Satellite Pro L100:
I've been on the Support from Toshiba site for drivers/downloads. The graphics card is the Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME graphics card.
Currently, the Device Manager read: version 126.96.36.19956 as of 08/01/2006 by Microsoft Corporation XDDM.
Although I think I did the research properly, I'm not sure that this is the most recent update of the driver.
On a note related... It would be much more effective that the Toshiba server have been set up for users to connect and get appropriate lists of updates.
Thanks for the tips
May I ask what you have problems?
Are there strange problems with your laptop that are related to the graphics driver?
Isn't it? So why a graphics driver is so important?
In any case it s always a good idea to use the drivers provided by the site driver of Toshiba.
If you want to use a page Intel driver then you can do this at your own risk.
See you soon
My method of cooling is always set to maximum performance in power savings settings and my Intel SpeedStep Technology is set to Perfomance. I read on the net that the cooling method should be set to SP and SS Intel technology must be set to auto, but I'm not sure about this. I guess I'd like some clarification on this.
I leave my laptop on for quite long periods. What do you think is the best energy savings for me to use?
Options to save energy of your choice will depend largely using mains or battery power.
To use AC I should leave things as you have now, which is a maximum cooling Performance and graphics.
For use of the battery I set the Intel on automatic and lower cooling affecting something which you give an adequate return, but this will depend very much the type of applications that you are running.
Is someone can you please tell me where I can get a replacement for my laptop recovery CD/DVDs?
I tried to find one for centuries, but without success.
Thank you very much
There are a lot of discussions about the topic even if you're looking for a little more in this category of the forum then you will always find the same answer;
+ ask the ASP in your country for a Recovery CD/DVD compatible.
I agree with Stanislas and recommend to contact the ASP too...

I would like to know if there will be Windows 8 drivers in the foreseeable future.
I don't think anyone here would be able to answer this question...
I read that this community is a user forum.
But I guess that the new series of portable computers should get a drivers Win 8...
do toshiba free loads to give if they break if you give them the identification number because some other laptop manufacturer: S I boke mine... If so someone could sendme a link/number so I'll be able to order a.
Toshiba will replace all component under warranty but only if it is faulty or poorly manufactured. They will not replace components if you break by accident.
anyone would be able to help me to find the updates for my Satellite Pro L100 PSLA4E 009009 FR. I'm not having much luck finding anything. Maybe my model is obsolete?
I had to apreciate any advise.
Thank you very much
Your laptop is listed on the European driver of Toshiba download page:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers
* Archive * > Satellite Pro > Satellite Pro L Series > Satellite Pro L100 (PSLA4) > PSLA4E
As you can see you do research in the Archives to find the driver because your laptop is older model but the driver update always available :)
I have problems replacing my laptop to a Toshiba Satellite Pro L100 keyboard. I adapted my laptop with a keyboard replacement brand new, it is detected by windows. But when I press any button, nothing happens.
It was the same problem with my previous keyboard. There is nothing broken inside the laptop or the clip that I can tell. But I can't understand why it does not work since I installed the keyboard properly.
My computer detects only external keyboards (when I connect it to a USB keyboard). I checked the BIOS and the keyboard is turned on.
Did someone knows what I could or should do? Please help me, thank you.
Sorry, he says, but it's not easy to say why the keyboard does not especially the dysfunction of the keyboard is related to the hardware problem laptop
But I wonder why you did not contact the maintainer authorized Toshiba?
To my knowledge, the satellite Pro L100 is not an oldie and security must be still valid and each replacement repair or part of the laptop should be done for free.
Then why have you tried to replace the keyboard by yourself?
I recommend to ask the guy to service to help immediately
I was wondering if anyone knew a hand control for the adapter wireless on the Satellite Pro L100. Recently I went to turn on the wireless and it wouldn t work - when I studied, the switch is broken and so I can t turn on I tried to search for somewhere I can manually replace it and put it back on but I can t find. If someone could help that would be great, otherwise I'll have to buy a key wireless USB or something like that!
I don t think you will be able to activate the WiFi network without separate laptops.
Many portable Toshiba internal WLan card is placed at the bottom of the unit.
In this case, it would be very easy to remove these cards.
Unfortunately, I m not 100% sure where the mini PCI Wlan is placed on the Satellite Pro L100. There are two possibilities;
Either it's placed at the bottom of the device (as said above) or under the keyboard.
Anyway, if you want to repair the hardware WLan switch then you will need to contact the ASP in your country.
What adapter do I for the Satellite pro A30, it will not load and as it has a bad connection on the card.
I agree with jasmine. I found the same information on the AC adapter.
If you want you can order this part from the Toshiba service partner in your country.
