• ACS 3.2 - users 'ghosts' of a group

  It is a bit of a strange. We run ACS 3.2 (1) on a Windows 2000-based computer. We have about 30 groups for different users. The only group (Group 1) always tells us that we have 30 users that are actually part of the group. The group says 90 users but when you list users there is only 60. I moved all users to a new group and now it says there are 30 users in the group, but when you a list of people, it gives you nothing. I have backed up the database, did a new install of 3.2 (2) on another machine and perform a restore to this area and I always get the same result. I'm trying to find out if the Group has not correctly or if there are 30 users 'ghosts' somewhere! I recently inherited the ACS boxes so I don't know when this problem started.

  There seems to be all known bugs related to this. Has anyone else seen this before?

  We have definitely corrected the issue and the matter is now closed. What we did that I sent him a copy of backup of ACS server so he could watch. He then sent back me a backup file saying they found the problem and restore the backup file to the ACS. The TAC Guy sent email me looked like this:

  "We cannot create a Dump.txt we can do on ACS installed on Windows Server by the csutil-d option basically on the device.

  This dump.txt is a readable format of the database unlike the .dmp

  I downloaded the .dmp sent by you on the ACS (Windows Server) service at my end created a dump.txt, corrected by running the perl script and downloaded and then turn it back on to the ACS server by the-l option of csutil. They I took a backup of the ACS and sent it. I have check the .dmp even on the device at my end to confirm the correction.

  It basically an indexing problem, caused when the admin deletes users and link pointer not are deleted in the registry of the origin of the problem.

  As discussed, regular backup, and performance of the dbcompact should help prevent this problem.

• How can I disable the encryption Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) for the server SSH on ACS 5.5.0.46?

  Hi, a security audit found that the server SSH on our 5.5.0.46 ACS service is configured to support encryption of the network (CBC, Cipher Block Chaining) load balancing. This may allow a recovery attackerto the message plaintext to the ciphertext.

  The Adviser is to enable the encryption mode cipher CTR or GCM - how is this possible? Is this something that you can run the command line?

  Unfortunately at this time there is not a supported method to disable this option on ACS.

• Update / migration ACS 4.1 to 4.2

  Hi all

  I have a few questions about the migration of a Windows ACS server.

  Currently we are running on ACS 4.1 / output 4.1 Build 23 (1)

  We have a contract of active support for the ACS 4.1 (CSACS - 4.1 - WIN - K9).

  Now, we want to switch to ACS 4.2 but it with some remarks.

  (1) we need to upgrade our contract to CSACS - 4.2 - WIN - K9?

  (2) if we have improved the contract can we download the new software ACS 4.2 of the CEC or do we need to buy the CD?

  (3) we want to install the ACS 4.2 with all latest patches on a new server, so, too, that this will be a new IP address.

  (4) do we need copy all data from ACS 4.1 to 4.2 this thanks to a restoration or a database sync of ACS 4.1?

  (5) by using an eval for ACS 4.2 and the upgrade version then licensed 4.2 ACS needs an eval version uninstall? I read this on the discussion on: https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/1002944?tstart=900

  For point 4), I found that we first have to ACS4.1.1.24 before progressing on the path ACS4.2.X is that correct?

  (1) there is no need to upgrade your contract, you are entitled to GBA 4.2 If you have a valid contract for ACS 4.1.

  (2) you will need to open a TAC case and get the software published for you, you don't need to buy anything.

  (3) that is fine, install a new copy of ACS 4.2.0.124 and then import your 4.1 backup base.  After that, you can improve the new 4.2.1.15 ACS ACS patch 3.  4.2.1.15 ACS patch and 4.2.1.15.3 ACS are available on cisco.com here:

  (4) No., you can restore a 4.1.1.23 database in 4.2.0.124.

• Cisco CSA 4.2 + RADIUS + HP procurve switches

  Hello!

  We mixed network environment with cisco / HP hardware.

  We are currently assessing the Cisco ACS 4.2 to manage network access network equipment.

  Cisco equipment works very well, but we have problems the RADIUS and procurve switches (Ganymede works very well)

  I googled around and it seems that you need to create a new '(VSA, Vendor) vendor-specific attributes' for procurve switches and the IETF radius settings according to the variables on the right which must match the HP equipment.

  Problem is that I can't find this information online.

  Anyone who manages to solve this problem?

• database copy of ACS 3.2 to 4.1 - separate server

  I have an old server running Win2K with ACS 3.2.3. I would like to copy the database from this server on my new computer running ACS 4.1.

  I have read many articles on the Forum on replication, using the CSUTIL.exe, etc., but I have not yet found a solution which describes if you can do it. Anyone know?

  I have read the documentation on creating the dump.txt file, but it does not say that I can copy a dump from one version to the other file.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Can clarify you what you have selected as the result of identity politics. If you always use the defined default access services, you will see this in the following location:

  Access policies > access > by default access to network > identity

  In order to use the attributes of the AD in the authorisation decision Active Directory must be in the results of identity politics. This can be done in two ways:

  Never done that. But by changing the metaoutline .xml file (to point to the new OLAP model) & import in HIA should work

  I'm looking into the side of the documentation of your question, but for now, I can talk about what these terms mean.

  If a parameter is selected byValue evaluation method, then when the sequence of the sequence is called as a sous-suite, he will get a copy of the value of the variable mapped to this setting. This means that if the call sequence is updating the value of the variable mapped when the subsequence is running (from another task in a multitasking structure), the value of the parameter in the subsequence won't suffer, because it's just a copy of the value of the original variable. Similarly, if the subsequence changes the value of the parameter during execution of the subsequence, this does not affect the value of the variable mapped in the calling sequence.

  If a parameter has selected the simple evaluation method, then it will work directly on the value of the mapped variable which is passed from the calling sequence. So if the subsequence updates the value of the parameter, the variable mapped in the call sequence is also updated. Conversely if the call sequence will update the value of the variable mapped when the subsequence has been running for another task, the value of the parameter in the subsequence will change too.

  For this reason, if you have a parameter that you want to map to a string of system definition, it probably always simple. This means that as the definition of system change string value, changes in the value parameter as well, and when the sequence updates the setting, the system definition string is updated also. For example, the sequence of the ramp and the sequence of SineWave specify that the RampOut and SineWaveOut parameters are regarddu, so that the sequence runs and reads back the data on these variables, any channel mapped to these variables is also updated.

  In general, you can probably almost always simply leave a setting as simple and not to think about. Most of the time that naturally fits with what you would expect would happen. The only drawback with simple settings is that, in order to map a variable to the calling sequence, the variable in the calling sequence must be the same exact data type as a parameter. So you can't map a variable of I32 in a sequence to a double simple parameter in a called sous-suite. You can do this with a parameter byValue. Because the subsequence in this case is just a copy of the value anyway, it is normal to compel this copy for the data type of the setting.

  We can take a look at a simple example. Imagine that you have a Foo sequence that has a setting double x. Foo all does is increment x 10 times.

• Impossible to assess all the songs.

  After that I brought my music from my computer to my Clip + by copying the music files and sticking them in the Clip + of the 'Music' folder, I could play without any problem. However, when trying to assess my songs, it brings up the interface to increase and or reduce the stars but any button I press once the stars never recorded.

  I'm not positive, because I do not write my songs, but I think you need to be in MTP mode for the sides to work.

  I see that your HP PSC 2100 printer is stuck on copy and will not be printed on Windows 8. I'm happy to help you!

  The first step, I would like to recommend is a hard reset. Please see this message, How to perform a hard reset, by @Rich1. It is very important that the power cable from the printer is plugged directly into the wall outlet, not a surge protector. See this article, questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power, for more information. This is true for printers and ink jet.

  Once this step is finished, please try to print a self-test report, to check the printer hardware is fully functional.

  To print a self-test report, follow these steps:

  • On the product control panel, press Setup.
    The installation menu appears.
  • Press the right arrow ( ) until print report displays and then press OK. The menu print report appears.
  • Press the right arrow ( ) until the self-assessment report and press OK. The self-test report prints.

  If the test report print, then on the computer, please try our HP print and Scan Doctorand let me know what happens!

  We used the HP Deskjet 1050 since 2010 until yesterday (25/11/2015), now (26/11/2015) is not printing, copying or scanning.

  Yesterday, I cleaned the bottom of the prnter (printer side), then all of the ink came out almost everywhere. Cleaned, changed (new) the two cylinders and it worked well.

  This morning all the printer lights are flashing (low in ink & so the witness of the paper). Could ' t print, photocopy or scan anything. When I opened the front of the printer check ink, the slotter of ink is not to stop in the Middle than usuall.

  When you try to SNA off-line the following note appears.

  

  Kindly need your advice on what I can do to solve this problem.

  Looks like you have had to face some problems all at once. Performing printing and Scan doctor could help. HP printing and doctor Scan is a free utility (tool) that allows to quickly resolve problems printing, scanning and connectivity, including but not limited to:

  • Connectivity:

    USB: Check that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product works properly.

    Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working properly.

  • Device Status Test: checks the errors of the device, such as paper, paper jams, stands transport and paper issues and provides instructions to resolve the error.

  • Driver: checks the driver missing or corrupt files.

  • Device Manager: check the problems in Device Manager that could prevent printing.

  • Device online: check if the product has been suspended or put in offline and then sets the State back in line if necessary.

  • Print queue: checks and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a newspaper for printing waiting to print).

  • Port Match: check the port settings for the HP product.

  • Device conflicts: check the conflicts with other drivers, such as the other brands of printers.

  • Ink issues: check the cartridges and the ink levels for issues that affect the print quality.

  • Print settings: check and adjust the print quality settings.

  • Test print: print a test page for the assessment of the print quality and provides options for cleaning and if necessary print head alignment.

  • Scan tests: check the scanning mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.
