Copy genuine windows 7 shows now not authentic.

I have a genuine copy of Windows 7 Home Premium on my laptop.

I got this through a student in 2009 while I was at University. Now, I get a message pops up telling me that I don't have a genuine copy of Windows 7. If I try to go the the installation process of the program, it wants to install it then fails and just says error, very well.

So, I then tried to use the link "Contact us" on the microsoft Web site. Since he thinks that I don't have a genuine copy of windows 7, he wants me to pay £46 just to have someone to email, err jog on.

So I now find myself here ask for help in how I can solve this problem.

Please please please help me before I end up breaking this laptop and spend a fortune on a Mac.

The files do not match above, peut I copy my old hard drive or is - not a possible solution?

I don't think so. Try WGA support and see if they can help.

I bought my HP Pavilion windows 7 Tiger pawn in Columbia, Missouri in 2013. I have upgraded to windows 10 in 2015 or 2016 at first (without free of Microsoft Update), didn't like it not and downgraded to 7. Since then there has been a "not a copy genuine windows 7" displayed in the lower corner to Rt. After I responded to solve it 'now' I did know that I have to pay for the downgrade. I found the product key # by 'JellyBean' but it wouldn't work. I contacted Microsoft who sent me to HP that stated that this laptop was made in Middle East and could not help me. (The keyboard is equipped for English and Iranian, I think. I cannot download IE and can't find answers from Microsoft because apparently I don't have a genuine copy of Windows 7! Heck, this computer hp pavillion laptop has windows 7 when I bought it! I even called Tiger pawn and they told me that it was purchased without the installation disk. Help! • Windows 7 computers suddenly not authentic on a network not available at the internet.

I have a secure network of approximately 20 workstations Windows 7 in a Windows AD domain. No internet access for workstations. However, I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 that provides Microsoft patches to workstations running up-to-date. The server is in a demilitarized zone that is connected to the internet.  Patch has been uneven before about 6 months when the WSUS server has been implemented. All patches were made by hand.

All my copies of Windows are legitimate and have been good for about 2 years.

My problems begin when my users get a pop Windows Activation window saying "to continue, you must log on by using an administrator account.  They hit ok and the background turns black with the Windows 7, Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine.

To troubleshoot, I logged in as an administrator and made the phone with Microsoft activation.  Works very well for about a week, and the cycle starts again.  Genuine Windows license shows diagnostic tool invalid, code validation 50 prior to activation of the phone and shows 'real' after activation.

Of course, I installed an update at some point requiring a reverification of the activation.  A lot of internet messages telling you how to eliminate the real control. However, I would like to be able to update my workstation with all the patches.

Microsoft support suggests that I have rename the token.dat and register with Microsoft again. I did this and still have the same issues.

Anyone have any ideas?  I can't be the only one trying to maintain Windows 7 workstations with patches to update on a secure network.

You need to buy a new copy of Windows for all computers in a network and the overall costs could easily far outweigh the benefits. You need on the advice on site if you wish to continue as an option. This topic is beyond the scope of this forum. The forum is dedicated to helping users at home.

  • Windows 7 Build 7601 not authentic on brand new computer

Purchased my Lenovo to Fry mid October 2012.  Have already experienced several BSOD right after that MS updates were installed every time.  A few days ago, I met several BSOD right after that the Windows updates were installed.  On the last BSOD, I get the message Windows 7 Build 7601 not authentic.  Nothing I tried as suggested on screen worked, amounts to the same thing.  I am a student full time online.  Fall semester ends on Sunday, December 16, and I'm way now behind on all my homework back and my final exams in all categories.  It does not help and I have not the time to take my computer to Fry for them to take a look.  All my data is stored here.  In addition, I tried to restore to another time, when you restart the message was still there then I turned off and when rekindled later it had disappeared, but returned for the next day.  I tried to restore againn but this time it won't go away.  I don't know where my product key is, as it is not on the computer itself.  It may be on a manual but I have since moved and had the movers help me and they put things in the back of my storage unit or in boxes not recognized.  So until I go through everything in my storage unit I'm screwed.  Please help as soon as possible because it's really me screwing.

    Thank you

    Denise

You install the driver from Windows Update updates?

If so, I would avoid their installation in the future and instead to download any available hardware updates directly from the manufacturers Web site.

I also suggest that when you get a new computer and you start for the first time, you must create a system restore point.

As each new Windows 7 PC should come with a COA sticker that is attached to it, this is one evidence of a genuine license installed on the machine. If you bought it on shelf, its possible someone could have pulled off the sticker.

Always check for a real sticker or buy any of the machine.

It seems that you have bad luck with Fry, FRY well their business and the purchase of another where, there is nothing particularly special to their topic. Try to buy directly from the manufacturer online or try another store, if you live close to a Microsoft Store, you can go.

Sorry for all the problems that you are experiencing, we are just volunteers here who are trying to help other users of Windows.

  • Why Windows Media Player will not validate my copy genuine Windows to upgrade to version 11?

I had a problem with a new MP3 player that would produce an error in WMP whenever I tried to synchronize with him so I went to upgrade to version 11 of WMP, but now I don't have access to the program at all because it will not be validated to complete installation despite my copy of windows is genuine (I even checked this with MS directly) & will not remove WMP version 11 to allow me to return to my previous version 10 so I have no access to the program or my libararies to music, I've built.  How can I get the validation complete on an older albein but authentic version of windows so I can use this program once again?

  • Windows thinks it is not authentic now it's on a virtual machine - what should I do?

I just got a new PC, and not to lose the info on my old PC, I created a VM from it (using VMWare vCenter converter) and it loaded into the VMWare Player on my new machine.

However, when I run the virtual machine, I get a message box pops up telling me that my copy of Windows is not genuine. Looking at other people who have had this problem, I guess it's because the VM's virtual hardware parameters are quite different from my old machine to trigger an alert. It's good that there is a lot of reports of this kind of problem, I haven't seen anyone solve.

Is that what I can do about it? I want to keep the virtual machine around for long enough to make sure that I have everything I could need, but will not actually use it that much. It would be better if I could convince Windows that it is authentic.

Anyone able to help? Thank you

Is the license of the former PC OEM or retail? If its OEM, you can not transfer it to another computer, physical or virtual.

If it is a retail license, try the phone activation:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Not a copy genuine Windows 7 ultimate

I had a PC custom built and installed Windows 7 Ultimate was on it. Have been using for about 7 months with no problems, the copy of Windows has been activated and registered with Microsoft, but after an update of Windows, I started to get an error message saying that it was not an authentic copy of Windows 7 Ultimate, and the only option I get is to buy a new product key. Is this a mistake, or do I really need to buy a new product key? I try to install Windows 10 and this problem seemed to come from the sky, and I don't have any problems so far. My problem is that it is a custom built PC and is not a label with a product key and walked away the guy who built my PC, and I can't get my hands on him. He used a legitimate copy of Windows 7 that we purchased during the configuration of the PC. What can I do? I have to buy a new copy?

You use a Dell Alienware OEM SLP Windows 7 Ultimate key on a generic motherboard.

You buy a genuine full version license.

  • Install KB3024777 to fix a problem with KB3004394 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 now not authentic

    Separated from this thread.

    Joachim

When first pose the problem? Was it before or after the December updates?

KB3004394 and KB3024777 appear in view update history? Or do they appear in installed updates?

Gerry, thanks for your post. I have the same problem as Joachim started this thread. I am running Windows 7 sp1. I have a Dell computer and it's certainly a legitimate copy of Windows (confirmed computer 'properties' and it is enabled).

By your post, I saw just to update and the KB3004394 (installed on 12/10/2014) and KB3024777 (installed on 12/12/2014) show as comfortable. I usually leave the Windows download updates automatically and I install them to stop. I watched the second update and according to Microsoft.com:

Install KB3024777 to fix a problem with KB3004394 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

The KB 3004394 update which was dated December 10, 2014 can cause additional problems on computers that run Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. This includes the inability to install future updates. This new update is available to remove KB 3004394 from your computer.

My problem is, as of today 14/12/2014, I still get the pop up "this computer is running not windows genuine', even with KB3024777 installed.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

    Bob C

xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx - represents your product key

    Press enter on your keyboard

Then type: slmgr.vbs - ato (this will force the activation)

    Leave the command prompt

  • Six years old copy of Windows 7 Professional now is more authentic.

I bought my copy of Windows 7 Professional from NewEgg some time in 2009.  I then installed on my new computer and have used it several times since then to make fresh re - installs due to drive failure hard, either because I bought new equipment.  I recently got a new SSD and decided to seize the opportunity to make an another re-install.  I've never had any trouble activating after each installation in the past, but this time, no matter what I do or how I'm trying to activate it, I said repeatedly that this copy of windows is not genuine.  I tell you what, however.  I have 2 drives (32 bit and 64 bit) in a package of upgrade of retail with a valid product code.  (I can provide pictures if necessary).  I tried to validate using the tool Microsoft online without success.  I used the phone app and the app assisted voice online with the same results.  Is someone can you please tell me how I can restore the validity of my copy of windows.  Thank you

    Charlie

To analyze and solve problems for Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the diagnostic report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to the desktop -http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once downloaded, run the tool.
Click on the button continue, after a short time, continue button will change to a copy button.
Click the copy button in the tool (ignore the error at this stage) and then paste (with r-click and paste or Ctrl + V) in your message.
