Copy music CD to play in car

original title: copy music CD'c

I have 2 laptops, 1 with Windows XP and. with Windows 7. All my music copied from my CD on my laptop (about 3000 titles), sometimes I copy a CD with the selected titles as needed, but now I get a message indicating that the copied CD will play only on another PC and not in my car.  I copied before expenses to play in my and never had a problem, I guess I pressed something I shouldn't have, but don't know what. (PS I'm 68 this week a response in normal English would be appreciated)

I don't know how to answer your questions, but maybe the following
info will be enough to get a dialog box started which will lead to the
the solution you're looking for.

It all starts when COPY you a music CD and save the extract
files in a folder on your hard drive. These files can be in the format
of your choice... WMA. MP3. WAV.

These files can be played on your computer or used to create
more CD.

Basically, there are two types of CDs you can create...

An Audio CD (music) is coded with CDA tracks and should
play in any CD player

A data CD is just files burned on a disc and that they are not coded.

For example if your car CD player is compatible with MP3 files...
you could burn a data CD containing MP3 files, and he would play. If your
Car CD player is not compatible with MP3 files... you will have to
burn an Audio CD (music).

  • When I try to burn a music disc player is registered as a DATA reader and does not allow me to copy music files that I can play on an external source

I have computer aGateway running Vista Home Edition and something happened with WIndows Media Player.   I have the DVD/RW internal drive and external DVD/RW as a player.  I use them mainly to copy music files and it has always worked fine until yesterday.

When I try to burn a music disc, the player is registered as a DATA reader and does not allow me to copy music files that I can play on an external source (such as the CD or car drive).  Worked fine Saturday and had burned discs Saturday night recognizes the two drives as data drives.

Is it something that needs to be reset or changed?

In WMP, please click the button burn up and make sure that the Audio CD is selected. Then try burning the CD again, they now play on a standalone CD player too.

  • MP3 corruption during the copy to USB or playing with MP11

Bought a cheap good car 16g off ebay.  No brand name.  To use in the car to listen to music (we have a new sienna with USB socket)

Has started moving the MP3s to it, a bunch of files

Found that at a given time, a file will not play with media player.  Therefore, no new file (copied to USB) after bad, would play.  Does any kind of codec error.  If I delete bad and try to copy it, he would not play.

So I format USB and start over.  It happens again, with different files.  I do this a few times

Finally, I find that media player is changing the file to be unplayable.  I tried to open one with media player classic and it works, but then, open the file with the current media player, I get the error, and it's more playable by classic.  After the file fails, the media info, artist, album, ect, is gone, but the name and size remain.  Size looks normal, but the image of the album no longer appears on the file manager.

After testing more far, I see some files do not survive to the copy.  Others survive the copy, but media player is their in.  Error always the same on these files.  I can copy back them and replace, and sometimes they are OK, then other times they need a another copy and replace.  In all cases, the album art has disappeared.

I found that if I delete one of these files, the next time I copy, it seems good, but is damaged if I play with media player.  Media player classic it plays very well and does not alter it.

So, in summary, I'm sure only a few things

Symptoms of a bad file is that it won't play in anything whatsoever, says he needs of codec, and I have more music as album info and others.  Such a file can occur after copying on USB key, or the first time, it is played with the current media player (media player helps says it's common when I ask for update).

Some files do not copy right.  I can copy back them and they're right.  However, sometimes they lack the album image in the file manager.  No correlation with the existence of this image, and if the media player will be trash.

Some of the files when they are played with media player go corrupt and will play is classic.  I have copy and I can play the recopied with media player classic, but try media player and it will be corrupted again.  The original copy of the copied file will play well with media player out of the hard drive, but will go corrupt if played off of USB, however, if copied from the USB to the desktop, it will now play with media player, but the album cover will look smaller than the original hard disk.

Currently, the problem is only with files that are on the USB drive.

A lot of hiking here, but you have an idea of what is going on?

I'm afraid that this media player will decide to begin to destroy ALL my mp3s.  I went Classic Media Player to be the default for MP3 player, but you still wonder what WTF.

Or is it a kind of USB problem?  I did a full and several quick formats of USB.

    Any ideas?

    Hidyrwolf,

It seems that there is a problem with the USB drive as the file copied from the USB to the computer plays very well and the problem occurs with files that reside on the disk.

To check if the problem caused by the USB, I suggest that you plug the USB on the other computer and check if the problem persists.

Alternatively, you can add the missing information to the media library of Windows media player.

  • I can copy music to a CD - R or must there be a CD - RW using Windows Media Player?

Can I copy music from a file on my computer to a CD - R or must there be a CD - RW? I use Windows Media Player. I've done it before, but it has been so long I don't remember if I used Windows Media Player or Roxio CD software that I used to have. I want to be able to use the CD in my car. I copied a CD purchased in-store music to my computer and now I want to make a copy.

    Thank you

    TomS

CD - R is very good.  The only difference between the two is that the written warning is much slower to write, but can be reused on a limited number of times.

  • CUSTOM1 and Custom2 columns do not retain data when copying music from one computer to another or the removal of a disc external hard is there a fix for this

I use windows media play to organize my music with various information.  I recently bought another computer to contain music.  Copied music from the folder on a windows xp on a windows system system 7.  All data for all columns except columns Custom1 and Custom2 was preservered.  Is this a known issue?  If so, is there a solution?  If there is not a fix is there a workaround.  Which is a file that is associated with the music files that can be retrieved and updated with the correct information.

Note the same issue occurs on the same system for the music that resides on an external hard disk if the hard drive is cut then re add the files to the library and once they are added all the previous metadatsa entered for all the columns are again the same as previously entered excpet for the the cutom1 and the custom2 colums

Has anyone seen this problem and if yes anyone knows how to avoid losing information that is added to the custom1 and custom2 colums

  • copy music to device

Can someone tell me how to copy music from my media player on my media card on my cell phone using a USB cable?

You mean the WMP or your mp3 player on your phone?

If the first, then do not know your post the brand, model number and ref from your mp3 player, or even your phone, then no, I can not really help you...

However, it is the theory of what must happen!

Walkman mp3 should appear in Windows Explorer as a device, you must ensure that in tools > file Options > discovers (or display) the option "Show hidden files" is checked.

If your device is displayed, then you can then copy the music files and paste them on your hard drive. Once did, unplug your mp3 player.

Plug in your phone. Let XP do its thing, then use WMP to locate the files. Just drag and drop them in sync "ing window and sync away to your heart content. That's the theory.

It is not so simple in practice, especially with iPhones - you need to use iTunes or a 3rd party plug for WMP to sync'ing. In addition, there are a few other rare cases of certain brands of phones who need specific software to transfer files. For those: RTM!

    See you soon,.

    Response

    Hello

    1. are you able to read any type of file .doc or .txt of DVD?

After following all the steps (including the update of the MP9 for Media Player [MP] 11) below

I can get the drive to DISPLAY all the data from the DVD (Master & Commander 'movie)

on-screen MP11.  He plays (automatically) the intro (ONLY) from the DVD music (as when you put it in a DVD player, forward to press PLAY) MP11 shows all of the content and all the files on the DVD and SEEMS ready to play, but pressing on PLAY don't either not anything.

2 , what exactly happens when you try to burn the CD? You get the error message?

    Not nothing... He's here

    3. How do you try to burn CDs?

MediaPlayer, selection of a track list, made a list of titles, and then click BURN... nothing happens

4 have you tried to play the DVD content in ? windows media player

I had not before, but now I have.  Previously it was default to my SELECTION WIN DVD4 as the DVD player (I think I've EVER SEEN the WINDVD format/start page on the front screen - it wasn't the default front DVD player either but don't remember what program PLAYS the DVD, he ' comes of ").  Now, go back and see 1. above for MP11 more details.

Try to update the drivers of CD-RW/DVD drive and check. Also update the graphics driver.

    I did the entire bottom.

    1. click on Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.

2 click on the hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click continue.

3 right-click on the CD-RW/DVD drive, and then select set to update driver.

He asks if I have an OEM driver and / disk... NO.. I run the program through...

"Hardware update Wiz can not find a better match the software installed"

    4. right click on the graphics card and select Update driver. »

There is no "graphics card" on the material.  This machine has integrated graphics using a part of the main memory (or other) to run the video section:

    I find:

AUDIO, VIDEO and GAME controllers (announcement)

    Audio codecs

    Audio drivers

    Legacy video capture device

    Media control devices

    Audio Sigma

    Video codecs

All this seem normal but above I see YELLOW TWO warnings under 'OTHER DEVICES '.

?!  Ethernet controller "drivers for this divide (code28) is not installed.

?! VIDEO CONTROLLER (VGA Compatible) I didn't HAVE NO IDEA if THIS if APPLIES OR NOT

    Device type - other devices

    MFG-unknown

Location PCI bus, device 0, function 0.  "Drivers for this device are not installed, CODE28 to reinstall the driver."

Has been through the usual (request for drive... Laughing out loud. Impossible to beat")

Did yesterday.  It installed/ran "MR. Microsoft Fixit' with the result:

"Question: media in the CD-RW/DVD drive is not readable" CLICKED top DIFFICULTY... and after computer "worked" on this subject awhile, he says STATUS: fixed.  St ill did not.   MP9 introduced the format of the DVD player but don't seem to read anything other then showing a list:

    UNKNOWN

    Title 1

    Title2

Title 3 etc., but could not do anything with this list.

He appeared a box asking if I wanted to update my MP9... sure why not so I shut everything down and uninstalled 9 and installed Media player 11.

Go BACK to # 1. now once again.  This is where I am.  MP11 shows all DVD data, the chart "the Album/DVD cover, all"titles"on the DVD, AND play the track audio 'intro' DVD but will not actually READ the DVD. "

So far it's PROGRESS.  We are at a point where it SEEMS at least that we are ready to PLAY and MP can SEE all the info on the DVD.

I see many people on other sites of the same question: Player does not work after FORMAT operating system and reinstall of WIN (and in my case: WinXP SP3 and WIN DVD4 of OEM disc)

Thanks a lot for your help so far... I hope that we can get to the next step and get the reader of CD-RW/DVD on 'PLAY '.
