copy of a recovery disk

Hello

I just created a recovery for my compaq presario cq40 disc.  I burned on a DVD + R DL RW verbatim.  Recovery manager allow me to create another disc of recovery and said recovery disk that only one per cell is allowed.

is it possible to copy this disc? just to double back the reasons. It will work just the same as the original disk, I created with the Recovery Manager?

In my view, that it won't let you create another one due to the violation of the copy right or something of this nature.

I think you can copy them using image burning.

http://download.CNET.com/ImgBurn/3000-2646_4-10847481.html

I just tried this program and it allowed me to copy my HP factory recovery disks, so there is a good chance that it will work for you.

Use the "create disc image files", it creates ISO files that you store on your disk hard that you can then burn to a DVD and create a copy of your recovery disks. I think that you may need to use double layer here.

You say burn Image where to put ISO files. I would like to create a new folder on the "C" drive and put them in there.

As for your other question, it should be an exact copy that will work. You can always try again later and stop at the place where it warns you that you are about to format your hard drive and it's the last chance to stop the recovery process.

See also this post here where Cheryl has left some very useful links about startup creating backup discs.

http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/operating-systems-and-software/creating-recovery-DVD-s-and-deleting-the-partition/m-p/245727

A second from the top. I wouldn't bother even burn a second series. I just have a few new using the Cheryls links. That way if you don't have a catastrophic failure, it will put the hard drive back as you want it and not image of original HP.

Please give a KUDOS to Cheryl and myself, if you found this post useful.  Thank you

I ran an experience and actually tried this and it works fine. When you use Image burn make sure you check the box to 'check' your DVD. I think it may already be checked by default however.

I had a spare hard drive to try it and I only allowed to go as far as the warning, then I cancelled the recovery process. Had let it go all the way I'm sure it would have worked.

  • Where can I download or purchase the recovery disk?

    Hello

My computer is running crazy. I lost my restore disk I got with my laptop. Anyone know where I can download one or buy one? Laptop model is Toshiba Equium A100 PAAS 100 series.

    Thank you

    Hi Steven,

You cannot download a copy of your recovery disk, but you can certainly get one any Toshiba authorized Service partner. You have to give them the model number of your ook noteb (on the label on the underside).

You can get information about your nearest ASP from the Toshiba web site.

  • Satellite A100-784 - how can I make another copy of my recovery disc DVD

    Hi all

I have the Satellite A100-784, which comes with Vista Home...
How could I make another copy of the DVD from my recovery disc?

Also, I don't have the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator... is downloadable?

    Hello

You n t have the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator, because this Toshiba Software is preinstalled on laptops equipped with HARD drive recovery option.
I presume that you have received a Toshiba Recovery disk this laptop doesn t allow HARD drive recovery.
Therefore, you cannot create a new DVD of recovery using the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator.

What you could do is to copy the supplied recovery disk.

  • Satellite A210 - 158 PSAFGE recovery disk

I bought my laptop a year ago. In the first week, I want to make a backup copy of my recovery disk.
But I could not because he gave me a read error.
I went back to the shop where I bought explaining recovery disk is not functional.
They changed my drive, but with this I have the same problem.

I accidentally deleted my computer recovery software and now I'm not able to create a disc with Recovery Disc Creator.

    My question is:
If someone has purchased the same model in Spain can he make me a picture of the copy and upload it to rapidshare?
I don't want to buy another copy of [https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/] only because toshiba provided my a good drive.

If you still have this damaged disc bring it to the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider and let check the disc. If there is a problem, and they can check it, I'm 100% sure that you will get a new free of charge.

  • Yoga 2 Pro - how to get Windows 8.1 recovery disks

    Hi all.

I just bought a Yoga 2 Pro and immediately wiped the drive and installed Debian on it (which works very well.)

While I can't imagine going back me to Windows, it would be useful to have the recovery of Windows 8.1 (or USB) disks available, just in case. (Money-back guarantee, sell to someone, etc.)

Unfortunately, during the installation of Debian, the recovery partition has been deleted, so I can't create the recovery/USB disks myself. How can I get a copy of the recovery disks?

Good day and welcome to the community.

For support of factory image recovery, you will need to contact the Service (info below). There may be a fee for the media.

    Kind regards.

  • HP Compaq TC4200 recovery disk

    Hello

My HP Compaq TC1100 video card went bad so I bought a HP Compaq TC4200 tablet as a replacement, I bought on ebay and the seller loaded it with Windows XP Pro, I think he has a Windows XP Tablet COST (I have not yet received so I do not know the certificate of authenticity, but it's a Tablet so I'm figuring it's a tablet of COA) , My question is can I download a copy of a recovery disk HP TC4200 Tablet from a site like Torrant for my TC4200 XP legally?

    Thank you

    Andy

HP is quite liberal with you not sourcing recovery media from other sites, I don't think it's a question.

If you don't feel comfortable with another source, order recovery disks form HP

You can order materials from HP recovery on the link below, or call HP on the phone to order 1-800-474-6836

  • Restore fails with HP recovery disk. Copy of ordinary details of WIn8 will install OK?

I have weeks of pain, try to restore a HP Envy m6 that failed a few days outside its warranty.

I tried to reinstall the original recovery partition and recovery disks burned of the original score of the recovery.

These two failed with error.  Detect an error in the PININST_BBV

Diagnostic checks suggest that the hard drive may be faulty, so I have replaced and bought a new set of recovery discs HP who believed HP would solve the problem. However, I get the same error. Detect an error in the PININST_BBV

Installation in all cases seems to be just fine.

I strongly suspect the recovery process HP is defective but HP you want to load a 34 books just to talk to someone for a few minutes.

Anyone know if I can install a regular copy of windows 8 purchased in a retail store instead?

The product key appears to be buried in the BIOS for the moment and I don't know if that will affect activation if I try to install a non - OEM version

The answers on the help on the original problem would be greatly appreciated.

With Windows 8, the product key is embedded in the BIOS and is not visible until you install the operating system. When you use an OEM Windows 8 DVD the BIOS automatically fills in the Code of the key.  You can try to do your own installation of Win 8 media using this ISO download:
  • Can I format my recovery disk if I copied the recovery on an external drive?

On my Hp computer, I noticed that my recovery was almost full.  So I copied it on an external drive.

My question is; Can I format my recovery if I copied the recovery on an external drive?

    Hello

    No, you can't.

And reading this on the recovery partitions:

It is supposed to have the files it contains, because it contains the files to reinstall the operating system.

Your recovery Partition was photographed on your hard drive during the production of your computer by the manufacturer for all of these reasons.

    1. If you want to reinstall Windows from in the case of a failure of the system, based on individuals or the keys at startup.

F10 or Alt + F10 or F11 are a couple of different manufacturers use sequences.

You will need to ask your manufacturer for proper sequence.

    2. to make the recovery disks on if your drive hard breaks down, so that you can then reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive.

Also ask them how to make records.

Your D: Recovery Drive is should not be used for backups, defragmented, etc..

There are backups on an external hard drive.

To resolve the problems that have arisen with the recovery D: Partition, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer to remove all that has been added to it.

    See you soon.

I would check what drives have been provided.

  • I have recovery disks but no disk drive. Is it possible to copy discs on an external hard drive with another laptop

I have a HP 15 Notebook PC with no dvd player recently sent me the CD of HP system recovery. I don't have an external dvd drive. What I have is a portable Toshiba Satelight with Windows 7 and a good dvd player. I also have an external hard drive to 500 GB. I thought maybe I could copy the disks on the external hard drive with the Toshiba dvd player. Then attach the external hard drive to my HP 15 laptop by usb port and install Hp recovery disks from the external hard drive. Is someone can you please tell me if HRT is possble. Thank you very much.

Have seen others try this and fail miserably. I also saw a few attempt to copy on USB stick with the same end result.

Save yourself a lot of grief and borrow or buy a USB CD/DVD drive.
