  Behavior of copy - paste doesn't seem to work properly in Win7.

  I just migrated to a new machine of Windows 7 with new Office 2010 installed where I performed tests on the problem.

  If I copy the text to the Clipboard from an application open MS (for example Excel, but also other programs MS like windows Explorer, internet Explorer, etc.), and then open a fresh word (one instance open) document and paste the text, it appears as an oval-shaped blob image.

  Similarly the same problem when I subsequently open apps package and try to make a hem

  The problem does not arise

  1. If the fresh Word document is already open before doing the copy operation

  2. If another document is already open before doing the copy operation

  3. If the copy on an Excel cell (for example) make it, stick first to Excel, and then open a fresh Word document (single instance) and paste to that

  It is not just Word. Other target applications get the unwanted copy if they are open between the copy and paste.

  This bug is not present in XP.

  OK, it's more clear now. It is Office 2010 which trashes the Clipboard when the first instance of a program Office 2010 is open (well, I tried only Excel and Word).

  Scenario 1: Open Excel, write a few essays in a cell, copier, copy to the Clipboard, open the new Word document, paste that and the oval blob error occurs

  Scenario 2: Open Word, write a few characters test, copier, copy to the Clipboard, open new worksheet Excel, paste that and the oval blob error occurs

  Scenario 3: Open Word, write a few test characters, copy to the Clipboard, close the word document, open it again, dough one and the oval blob error occurs

  Scenario 4: Open Word, write a few characters test, copy to the Clipboard, open another document, paste and no error occurs

  Scenario 5: With Excel and Word open, first cut an and stick to the others - works fine

  Conclusion: the windows clipboard is always corrupted when the first instance of an Office application is opened.

• Copy paste - working in some guests of Win7, but not others?

  Using 10.0.1 on Windows 8 x 64 Workstation (installs clean).

  I have read most of the discussions on issues of paste and tried a bunch of suggestions, none work. The strange thing, I have 3 open guests: 2 Windows 7 x 64 guests and a guest Windows 8.1 and I noticed that there have a Win7 and Win 8.1 copy - paste works perfectly, one of the guests Win7 it won't work at all (in any way round).  I can't isolate why this one does not.

  Things tried - turning "isolation" market, comments reboot, uninstall tools-> restart comments-> reinstall the tools full screen off, close the comments leaving to run in the background and reopen the .vmx file, check the services that are running and the "isolation" options enabled.

  It doesn't seem to be a host issue since at the same time, all this happens, other guests are having no problem at all.  I can't understand more things to try, and of course if other guests are working fine it tends to limit to a problem of comments rather than host somehow?

  What can I try next? I've exhausted the usual stuff I know and sought the community pages.  It is a huge problem.

  Yes, these are the basic troubleshooting steps.

  That you found during your research, sharing the Clipboard is provided via vmware tools.

  There are other possibilities that can interfere with your vmware tools installer.

  For example, some antivirus or anti-malware tools can prevent proper operation.

  Before I go any further can confirm you that in the Task Manager in the Windows 7 guest where the Clipboard sharing works that you have two instances of vmware tools running?

  1. a vmtoolsd of the task runs under the SYSTEM user

  2. a vmtoolsd of running under your current user task

  Another thing to check is if the other parts of the vmware tools work properly. As the feature slide - déposer.

  Can you - when your virtual machine is in windowed mode - just drag and drop a file from your host on the VM problem?

• Suddenly copy / paste works more Illustrator CS5

  All of a sudden my copy / paste has stopped working. In Illustrator, if I select something, copy and then open a new file and try to paste what I copied in, nothing is displayed (although paste icons appear to be functional).

  However, if I try to do the same and paste my selection in Word, paste icons are grayed out.

  It happened all of a sudden...

  I use a Windows XP computer with tons of memory.

  I'm running 4.0.0.12 on Mac OS X 10.8.4, and I can't copy in the window "output of the Script.  What I do on a regular basis, it's generating some SQL code by using a SQL query, so I want to copy the output and paste it into the spreadsheet so I can run.  For example:

  I have captivate 8.0.0.145 and I'm creating a tip action that executes a javascript script.

  I have my code in Notepad ++ and I want to copy and paste the code written in Notepad ++ to javascript window, but no matter what I do, when I hit the button ok my code dispersepears.

  Bit off-topic, but please install the patch to upgrade to 8.0.1, always use you first version (several bugs).

  For JS: This might be the reason, you are unable to insert the code (create functions) in the JS file and call the function in the JS command in the tip action?

• Mouse Microsoft Sculpt works intermittently on Windows 8.

  My newly purchased bluetooth Microsoft sculpt mouss keeps stopping on me.  I turn it works to make it work again.  I checked in Device Manager and seem to have the latest version of the driver.  My computer is a Dell XPS 8500.  I updated all my drivers when I upgraded to Windows Pro - 64-bit.

  Everyone knows the same problem?  All solutions.

  I called Dell and we reinstalled a Bluetooth update and that solved my problem.  The mouse works fine now.  Thank you.

• copy / paste no longer works in photoshop CC

  I've been using Photoshop CC since March and this is a new issue. Was not a problem until today.

  When I select and area to copy from a photo in JPEG or photoshop PSD and make a new file paste it in, the new file is the same size as the Clipboard content, as we hear too, but photoshop is more will let me paste. The selection CHANGE, dough is still there in black, not greyed out. I fixed it temporarily by restarting my computer and it worked until I closed Photoshop again and reopened, problem is back... What is happening?

  Is it to do with preferences and how to change their resolution to this problem?

  the only thing I changed recently said use photoshop as the default program to open JPEG files in my computer. I've changed that because the bridge was no longer photoshop showing as an option when you right click an image and choose which file to use to open it. The fix was to close the bridge, chose a jpeg image and changes the default value of photoshop to open it.

  I am running windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.

  OK thanks to Curt Y, I suggest that the solution is to first preferences, then the purge.

  I returned and purged the Clipboard after reset preferences and it now seems to be fixed.

  You happen to have installed Iobit Advanced System Care (or just their Smart Ram program)...

  If you do, make sure you have "Own Clipboard" UNCHECKED under the Smart Ram settings.   Had the same thing happen to me and had even made a "repair installation" of Windows until I came across this one...   As you clear everything except Microsoft services & programs, the computer worked find until I have reactivated my programs...  Then, lost copy & paste it again...  So again, the 1 re-activated both (with a re - start eventually) disabled until all of a sudden I lost copy & paste it again...   The program was Advanced System Care...   When I searched on their website, I found other people had the same problem & the solution was to uncheck own Clipboard...   Copy & paste works well since...

  I you don't have this program (or Smart Ram), I suggest you do what I did to help out...  Turn off everything that is not Microsoft, then reactivate 1 both with a re-boot each time...  I hope that you will be able to isolate the program that gives you problems and change a program setting will fix it.

• Stroke in the wrong place after copy/paste in Illustrator CC

  Since the passage of the CS6 at CC, I have a problem of copy/paste, work of one Illustrator document to another.

  Sometimes features are in the wrong place as you can see in the screenshot below. On the left side I just copied a picture from another file I and lines appear at the bottom right where they should be (in this case it is not possible to select the lines "out of place". Moving all about what I selected moves around the misplaced lines, but they keep the same distance. The way I found for this problem is either doing "Contour lines" or to make the illustration more bigger or smaller. Which will appear automatically the features in place. If I can undo these changes traits remain in the right place.

  This seems to happen with illustrations that have been made to the CS6, but save the original file does not help CC; the problem is occurring. It also seems to occur to the traits that have a variable width profile. Features with a uniform profile remain in place. I had this problem in Illustrator CC on Windows and Mac, with various files that I created initially in CS6. It is quite annoying because I copy and paste a large number of these illustrations, so I find myself constantly having to do "Contour lines" and then "Cancel" to remedy. What can I do to prevent this?

  I was unable to copy and paste between my office and my view client session so I turned off the VM from view and added that the following advanced configuration-VM:

  insulation. Tools.Copy.Disable = true

  insulation. Tools.Paste.Disable = true

  Partial success... I can copy my desktop and paste in the virtual machine to view but I can't do the reverse.  I can't copy inside the view virtual machine and bring this text clipboard réécrirait on my desktop.  I don't see anything about copy/paste in the pool of the view connection server or global configuration.

  What is interesting is that apart from the Customer View, copy/paste works both directions for access to the virtual machine using the vSphere Client remote console.  That tells me the above commands work and are correct, except that they do not work 100% with the customer in sight.

  Am I missing something?

  No need to change the settings of the VMX Customer View does not use them.

  Have you checked the view Agent GPO to make sure bidirectional copy / paste is enabled?

  I installed Windows 10 a week ago and everything seemed ok. Suddenly, copy / paste don't work in Firefox or Thunderbird. For example, I can't copy words or links in this message. I can't copy a Firfox URL and paste it as a link in an email. Copy and paste works in other applications. How can I fix?

  We have a PC running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, Quad i7, 8 GB of RAM. The machine is used for editing desk top - CS6 Adobe, Microsoft Office 2003, CAD. The machine will be left on for extended periods of time. Reboots occur if the system plays to the top (which is rare), or when Windows Update requires a restart.

  In rare cases, copy and paste in Windows work stoppages - which means that nothing can be copied and pasted between any application: Notepad, Word, Wordpad, etc. InDesign. CTRL + C and Ctrl + V do not. If we use the Edit menu to copy, and then in the same application or in another application click Edit, paste to the option is grayed out.

  A reboot will fix it.

  Even if a reboot can solve this problem there are times where a large number of applications will be open and restart becomes a major obstacle. I don't want this issue to become a common problem, so I was wondering if you people had any suggestions that I could try to track down why it happened and how I can prevent it or even provide a fix that re - allows you to copy paste & without requiring a reboot.
