  Excellent work. The two sets of Gdisk steps are correct. If you are on El Capitan, these two sets of measures Gdisk will fail because of the Protection of the integrity of system being activated. Please disable SIP.

  1. boot in local restoration (command-R).

  2. start utility-> Terminal.

  3. type csrutil disable in the Terminal, and then press enter/return.

  4. type csrutil State.

  5 start normally, then type csrutil status to confirm that all of the individual entries are still disabled.

  I have a MacBook Pro with a bootcamp Windows 7 partition. Windows 7 was working fine until I upgraded Mac OS 10.7.5 to 10.11.3 El Capitan. Now, the Windows 7 partition does not appear in system preferences > boot floppies or hold down the option key at startup.

  In my case, I installed gdisk and set the partition 4 (Microsoft Basic data) is bootable. Saved and has written the MBR, restarted the laptop, hold down option and still no display HD windows up to start from. Even tried to set all 4 partitions (i.e., recovery, EFI + Mac + Windows) to be bootable. Still does not work. Mac OS X system preferences > boot floppies does not display the windows partition. DiskUtility in Mac still shows the windows partition (~ 374). The drive is ~ 500G.

  Trying not to panic, but afraid to lose all access to the windows partition. Any help or advice are appreciated.

  Please rebuild your MBR using 2-3-4 and say yes to good EFI for issue of grub. The current MBR is not going to work, because there is no entry for GPT4. Please let me know if you need the exact steps.

  The link you have used is a special case where a use has created a 'extra' partition, so we use a 3-4-5, but your case is standard configuration with 2 3 4A partitions of the hybrid.

• I can not access Mail at all.  The app looks open but I have no spectators (Inbox etc) happens so I can't see any mail either.  The provider is OK because I'm receiving and sending mail on my iPhone and iPad.  All of the suggestions.  El Capitan is update

  I'm running an iMac mid-2007, with El Capitan updated 10.11.2 and Mail I think 9.2. 2.4 GHz and 4 GB of memory.

  My problem started yesterday when I wanted to send a letter from Christmas to 32 people, activating a project and try to send it.  Didn't happen, and then things started to get strange.

  This AM. After the update to EC 10.11.2 I tried to load Mail.  The program seems open (i.e. the bar at the top - file, window etc.) but no viewer will appear.  No e-mail does appear, now or otherwise.  Have tried everything I know.  Restart the iMac.  Close and open Mail.  Nothing.

  In El Capitan (Yosemite) the Preview tab displays the serial number.

  Can see you your?

  In system preferences > users and groups to enable the guest account option or create a 'test' Mac user account.

  Log on to your regular Mac user and the other account and set up Messages > iMessages account.

  If you have the serial number visible (present) BUT impossible to connect the two Mac then the Apple ID used user account has been blocked at the server iMessages.

  Are there opportunities you have migrated this Mac from another Mac user?

  If yes the keychain could contain info on the 'bad' serial number.

  Go to Applications/Utilities and open Keychain Access app.

  Have "Login:"Passwords"at the bottom left and top left."

  Find the right pane for "ID: YourApple ID- Auth Token" and delete it (the bit "your Apple ID" should be an email)

  Try again Message.

  It may not work because this security feature may have blocked your ID (specifically the Mac) on the iMessages server.

• MBP El Capitan not updated - stuck at 10.11.1

  Towards the end of 2013 Macbook Pro El Capitan 10.11.1 running

  Tried to get my system updated for months.  It restarts and tells me so some updates cannot be installed automatically and I can click on Install, once again and restarts, it looks like it is updated, it lands on the desk about 5 minutes later with the same message.

  So the only thing I can think who might have caused this was partition my drive dual-boot Windows.  Since then, I have deleted this partition and my hard drive is together again.  I fixed permissions on the volume and the system still is not kept up-to-date.  I downloaded update from Apple, and when I tried to install it from the .pkg the 10.11.4 it said my drive hard was not eligible for the update and a yellow warning sign.

  I'd like to get my current system without wiping and do a reinstall.

  -a fresh and clean re - install 10.8,

  -created a new apple ID

  -a tried to update from 10.8 to 10.11

  and guess... still the same error. Immediately ' an error occurred' after loading the update, no chance to install or reload. Trying to recharge starts at '0 bytes loaded' and will remain in the "loaded 0 bytes."

  So, what can I do? What Miss me? Where do I start looking for the reason?

  Do you have a cd with the computer that contains the drivers?

  If so, you can go to Device Manager and remove the driver, then use the cd to reinstall.  Or you can go to the Acer site and find the most recent version of the driver, download and install it.

  Yes, there will be an update to Lightroom because of ongoing problems.

  For the moment, you can disable the "Show Add Photos Screen" in the Lightroom preferences > General and then restart Lightroom to check if that helps.
