Corrupted hard drive, I tried to delete everything on the drive using unlocker instead of setting shape and it corrupted the drive

Corrupted hard disk I tried to remove the disk, use unlocker to see how long it would take to remove a complete 500 GB instead of formatting. He paused to remove all and windows is now on a different drive, but it always detects the other as active, I get constant popups saying some files are missing, and it is possible that the disc is damaged or a netwoprk cable has been disconnected, but it's because I deleted the files say are missing. I can not format because I have errors during the attempt, may not make a disk check but in disk manager it says the drive is healthy. I tried to install windows on t6he disk, but the format gets 99% and stops. I know that the drive is not broken, because it worked fine until I did! The windows folder is still on disk with some deleted files and the folder of the system volume and the restore folder are always there, they cannot be deleted now because when I try I get errors/popups saying that the drive is in use & that some files are missing, some of them begin with the sign $.

I forgot to mention I'm running 32-bit xp with cpu e8500.

How can I remedy is - anyone know please?

My SSD with a version of Dreamweaver CS6 running crashed. Now a new SSD is installed and every time I try to reinstall DW CS6 error "inconsistency in the database Setup" (in German terms) occurs. I tried to delete everything about CS6, rebootet and so forth--nothing worked. Two hours later, I tried to install DW 5.5 - that worked. Then I tried again to install 6.0 - without success. Can anyone help?

Thank you for your response. I could not find caps.db.

Meanwhile, I solved the problem as follows: I searched "dreamweaver" everywhere one deleted all that I could find. Then I googled "CS6" and did the same. I guess that there are around 20 or more places where I deleted files or directories. Suddenly, installation has not prevented, to 2%, what he has always done before and the installation was a success :-) It cost me more than 4 hours to understand this, and I have found a trick somewhere really help. Adobe itself I could not contact because I couldn't find an email address or a phone number - poor support for such expensive software. For luck, I didn't deliver something just in time. Missing a useful support, it's an attitude really poor, poor Adobe... I think that I do not buy not more products Adobe - it could cost too much of my time... :-(

  • Tried to delete files on the desktop, but it showed "Item not found"!

I wanted to delete files on my desk. But he showed "Item not found", ask me to locate the file. But I searched the entire computer, the file is no longer exist. But he was still showing on the desktop!

What can I do to remove them? Because they are really boring!

Are you sure that it is a folder on your desktop and not just a shortcut (a link to the actual file)?  The actual file can be located elsewhere.

Check C:\Users\\Desktop, and see if the files are there.  If so, try removing them from there (instead of from the desktop).  It shouldn't make a difference, but it might work.

Try to use one of the following free products to remove the file/folder (from two places).  Assassin http://www.malwarebytes.org/fileassassin.php of files (with or without forcing the deletion: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/12/27/force-delete-cannot-delete-locked-or-in-used-files-or-folders-with-fileassassin/) or Unlocker to: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Unlocker.shtml.  These programs often work when normal functions remove Vista not work correctly.

Search for files in Vista is quite different that it was with XP.  To search for a file with a normal search in Vista, it should be in the index files or types of files - otherwise it will not come to the top.  You CAN get to get to a FULL player search.  To search for the folder C: whole disk in Vista go to start / search and type in ' or '. As you type, you'll see two hyperlinks appear just above where you type and we'll search everywhere.  A click on it.  Who will do a fast indexed search and bring up a dialog box.  Click on advanced search.  Click the drop-down location and find the C: drive and click on it. Check the box "include not indexed, hidden and system files (might be slow).»  Then click on search.  You will now search your entire hard drive to the specified file.  And Yes, this isn't a very effective way to search the entire disk for a file but it is how it is done in Vista.  Once you find the file, try to remove normally and if it does not then try to use both products above to see if you have a better chance.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Deleting e-mails on I-Phone delete everything in the box entrieson Thunderbird

I have a major problem that no one - including Apple Genius Bar - can solve. I have two PCs and 2 Apple devices, all about IMAP settings. Whenever I have delete emails on my iPhone all the entries in the box on the two PCs disappear - and they are not in the Recycle Bin or deleted. Apple Genius Bar experts have repeatedly thought they had solved this problem, but all to no avail. Were originally my I - Pad devices on my PC on IMAP and POP settings, but it's the same thing. I'll be very grateful to anyone who can solve this problem.

You say that if you delete a message on the iPhone, all the messages in the Inbox disappear, probably in Thunderbird on both PCs?

Have you checked on the website of the the email provider? If the messages are passed here too so it's no surprise they are missing in Thunderbird. And, to be honest, it looks like a problem between the servers and the iPhone email client.

  • I am trying to delete or disable the Windows screen magnifier "magnifying glass" from my PC.

TrustedInstaller keeps blocking my attempts to remove the magnifying glass. I tried to access trusted install without success. How can I accomplish this?

When I run games iWin game Manager works fine. However, when I opened a magnifying glass game is started and grafics are to big for the screen.

It is not intended to make it possible to uninstall Magnifier, just turn it off. There may be solutions hacks to workaround to do it, but I won't recommend it.

To exit the Magnifier program, press:

Of the Windows Logo key + Esc (at the same time).

There is a keyboard shortcut that can be from magnifying glass if inadvertently, you press it:

Of the Windows Logo key + + (at the same time).

There may be other ways to start it's specific to your particular computer - for example some gestures on a mouse pad or a combination of button/wheel on your mouse. Try to think of what you were doing when the magnifying glass then appears to help track down.

I tried to erase and reuse a disk that was previously encrypted.  Disk utility tells me.

    Clear process failed:

Dismounting drive, could not open the device. Operation failed... »

I tried several suggestions from other threads, as drive reboot, restart computer, terminal commands.

The the terminal commands that worked for others used sudo, but all that entered with sudo request my password, but then nothing that I type in the show even upward.

Have deleted everything on the disc using the Finder, I receive a new empty file called System.

Finally, I tried decrypting that happened for hours even if there is nothing else the file system to empty the disk.

    Any suggestions?

I tried to respond to that to explain how it worked but it never published and there was a warning that "gray someone has been banned", I don't know what's happened since as I answered my same MacBook pro, but I'll try again.

    Gaara_2k6,
Welcome to the responses of the Forums.  The short answer to your questions are Yes and no and no.

Depends on how you format the drive, it will delete everything on the drive.  Now, it may still be recoverable with a software specialist or moving to a data recovery company.

If you formatted your hard drive you would not be able to start to do anything, because there would be nothing on the startup disk.  With the Windows XP CD or with the recovery media provided by the manufacturer of the PC is the only way to reinstall Windows. • accidentally tried to move the contents of drive c on external hard drive

so... I thought that I could free up space by moving everything to an external hard drive.  I tried to move everything on the c:\ drive.  Oops.  He started, but then I think he moved to some files necessary for windows to run, then it stopped working.  I can't move, is back.  tried to use the back, but now access is denied to the c drive.  Anyone know what I need to do?

It MIGHT be possible, but I think that it depends on many factors, such as the security for the reader and permissions permissions different to elsewhere in the hierarchy of the folders, files or not he used any bitlocker or other protections. I couldn't honestly tell you exactly how to get started.  It might be useful to plug it into another computer, just to see if you can copy the files by taking possession of the records and yourself permission, but that may end up being a dead end too.

  • Formatting the HARD drive before doing a clean install.

I will do a clean install with my windows Visa but first told me to format my hard drive. Is that when you go to computer management > disk management, but then I have no idea what to do? It says Disk 0, and then Compaq and recovery. Laughing out loud.

Thanks for your reply :) So basically I am following the steps in cleaning a compromised system, because that's what another MVP said that my problems with Windows updates and so on were probably the effects of a hijackware infection. It said to format my hard drive and then do a clean install of Vista,

I do not know you said that, but it is wrong or you
misunderstood him. When you perform a new installation, you start from the
Windows DVD, then follow the prompts. It starts by formatting the drive
for you, then there is no need to do first.

and since my system did not come with the CD of Vista from the window I have to do by the Compaq recovery Partition.

And if you do that, it also begins by formatting the drive for
    you.

And by the way, your system is almost certainly with instructions on
How to burn this on a DVD recovery partition and you should
certainly doing this before you start. You don't want to wipe that
partition without burning to a DVD first.

I don't know exactly what I should do when it said to format my hard drive. It won't replace anything, which means getting rid of the previous things?

Yes, it deletes everything on the disc. So make sure that, before
from, save you on external support all important files for you.

Because I don't want to do a clean install, then update all and then see my computer is still messed up.

That's highly unlikely. But (and this is a big but) If you had "dirtied".
to the top"by something you did, there is a good chance that you will make the
same thing again and get 'messed up' all over again. It is one of
the main reasons according to formatting and reinstalling Windows is
usually a bad approach to solving a problem; It is best to find
This is what the problem is, and what it, so that you don't make the
    same thing in the future.

One last point: after the new installation, you will need to
Restore the backup that you made your files and reinstall all your
    applications of their original medium.

    Hello, bmoncsko-

Welcome to the communities.  As for your question, it seems that it would be a 'feature' (or bug) in how hard drive Remove works.  I tested what you did and got the same results using PowerCLI 4.1u1 and 5.0.

However, it works when you select the hard drive to the virtual computer by name through the pipeline (instead of the path of the data store), as:

    ## get the VM's harddisks, displaying their names as wellGet-HardDisk -VM myVM | ft Name,CapacityKB,Filename

    ## determine from above the name of the harddisk to be removed, and use that to choose that harddisk, then remove itGet-VM myVM | Get-HardDisk | ?{$_.Name -eq "Hard disk 4"} | Remove-HardDisk -DeletePermanently -Confirm:$false

It would be interesting to know if other people receive the same behavior when trying to remove the hard drive as you did, but this piece of code, you should get going at the moment.
