Corruption ESENT/JET: impossible to verify updates | Windows Vista SP2

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 that had a problem with the hard drive. I replaced the hard drive WD 750gig HD and has restored a factory. When I go to update, I get an error that Windows Update cannot currentley check updates because the service is not running. When I check the update service, it looks like its operation. Audit of the newspapers show that suite:

I did a search for this error and Im see articles on corruption ESENT/JET on 4K sector hard drives so I followed the instructions and asked the fix for microsoft in favor KB 2553708. I received the fix and got an error when you try to apply the update. "Setup has encountered an error: 0xc8000247" I was able to apply the update on the original hard drive and fix the disk to the advanced format, but I'm still getting the error of image, partitions are aligned properley and I've updated to the latest drivers install IST.

IM wondering what to do next? I feel I have tried everything.

Hello Trinsic,

Since there is a corruption with the packages on your system (shown in the papers above), it can be advantageous to try to run CheckSUR to automatically repair packages. If this fails, you will need to follow the instructions here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee619779 (WS.10) .aspx to repair the corrupt package

    Hi BuyIntel,

    Thanks for posting on the Forum of answers.

    I suggest to backup your saved games and reinstall the program.
    Something in the Service Pack may have corrupted some aspects of FSX, this should solve it.

    I suggest also to visit your video card manufacturers website to download the latest drivers and re-installation of the unit.

    I hope this helps.

    My Vista is genuine and activated, came with my laptop HP HDX16 1050EE.
    This issue has been hard for awhile and its a little boring.
    Thanks in advance.

    Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are notorious for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself. (No, Symantec Support never say this.) See if the following solves your problems:

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all Norton software (including LiveUpdate and everything Norton Add ons) via Control Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view).

    4 IMPORTANT! -Online activate Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.

    NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed step #7 below!

    5. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above, and then select run as administrator.  DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    6. do a clean install of the 2010 version of your Norton application, using your product ID & reboot: http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080514162318EN

    TIP: Do not activate or install additional modules of Norton (for example, Norton Anti-Phishing) immediately.

    7. manually and repeatedly run LiveUpdate until you get a prompt "no update more".

    8 test cycle.

    NB: Your Norton application can disable Windows Defender by default.

  • Impossible to update Microsoft Windows Vista SP2

    I have a laptop that is running Windows Vista Service Pack 2 from Microsoft yet. I have not started the laptop for almost a year and I understand that the operating system is no longer supported. I'm just trying to get all the other updates carried forward after November 13, 2015. The update of Windows seems not to be able to get updates or is suspended. In the past when Windows XP support ended, I was still able to update the o/s to the last update available for the well type beyond a year after. I don't see why I can't still not updated for Windows Vista SP2.

    I need constructive responses to solve the problem and not the usual, "my computer is old and needs to be upgraded or replaced", remarks. I don't have the funds to keep the upgrade for the latest and best. The laptop, I always work and if I have funds or if I know that it can smoothly run Windows 10, I could upgrade the o/s.

    Follow these steps: Install KB3078601, KB3109094, KB3145739, KB3164033, KB3168965 and KB3185911 manually. Download links:

    http://Wu.krelay.de/en/

    The value "never search for updates' automatic updates and reboot before installation manual. The updates themselves can be installed in a line without having to restart in the meantime.

    Best regards, VZ

    This has happened for months.
    Can what's up, anyone help?

    Thank you

    Hi zsaire,

    If any of the files that begin with tmp exist in this folder, do not remove any other files. Files .cat in this folder are necessary for installing hotfixes and service packs.

    Important: Do not rename the folder C:\windows\system32\catroot. The Catroot2 folder is automatically recreated by Windows, but the C:\windows\system32\catroot folder is not recreated if is renamed the folder C:\windows\system32\catroot.

    Step 3: Reregister DLL files that are associated with Cryptographic Services

    To register .dll files that are associated with Cryptographic Services, follow these steps:

    Hello

    What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you ALREADY had on this
    machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause strange problems).

    ------------------------------------------------------------

    Part of the problem is probably SpyBot which can greatly affect the peformance IE and Vista/Windows 7.

    Start - type in the search box-> find Services at top - click right on - RUN AS ADMIN

    Double-click Service SBSD and change it to MANUAL and STOP

    Then run SpyBot and in settings uncheck TeaTimer - close and restart.

    Now you can run SpyBot as a scanner at the request.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

    Then, run checkdisk - schedule it to run at next boot, then apply OK your way out, then restart.

  • Messages to update Windows Vista 64-bit driver for Qosmio F30 Vista 32 bit

    Hello

    Today, I noticed that, update Windows Vista displays the bad update for one of the drivers of Qosmio F30.

    I have Windows Vista 32-bit, but Windows Update post a 64 bit version of the driver.

    See the screenshot [here: http://imagefilehost.googlepages.com/f30Wrongupdate.jpg]

    Any idea?

    Hmm... it's strange?  :|

    The ACPI from Toshiba x 64 compatible driver certainly means a 64-bit version!

    I put t know why Vista driver update notification indicates a 64-bit to a 32 bit OS driver, but usually the 64-bit driver should not be compatible with the 32 bit OS.

    However, the deal seems clear don t install if the pilot is not designed for your operating system.

  • Update Windows Vista Reboot Loop

    Hello

    I, like many others, have the problem that when you let Windows Update to install updates, I had in endless loop.

    I managed to do a system repair, two or three days in time and got the operating system. Don't think not too much, I restarted the computer after a day and it started installing updates again. Of course this has generated the same problem and an another system restore was performed.

    Now I have disabled the automatic updates until I can find a solution to this problem. I tried to download this update (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5639710d-dfbf-4527-806e-9a1634d0cc8e&displaylang=en), but it is said that it is not for my system.

    The computer is running on Windows Vista SP2 business English.

    Does anyone have a solution for this?

    Turn not updated off altogether; do it this way.

    Install them 1 at a time, to find the problem.
    It is the only way to know.

    Here's how to uninstall and how to change the update settings:

    Click Start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
    > or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
    See you soon.
