  • Corruption graphic when you try to install ESXi 5.5

    Hello.

    I have a new server and the installation of VMware ESXi 5.5 Update 1 the installer knows graphical corruption (the screen shows strange colors random movement pixels). Other operating systems can be installed, such as Ubuntu, and the BIOS is accessible. It is only when the disc with the VMware Installer starts the graphics go crazy. I contacted the technical support of the company, we bought the server from and they said there was no known compatibility problems and communicate with VMware. The motherboard is a X10SLM +-LN4F by Super Micro.

    It turns out the motherboard was faulty.

    Original title: Program Files gone?

    Recently, I started my computer and noticed that a bunch of files are corrupt, and left most of my shortcuts.  I went into Program Files and discovered the entire file completely empty.  The computer says to run chkdsk b/c the program files are corrupted.  When I run chkdsk/r, it indicates that the NTFS is locked and I have to restart to run chkdsk.  When I reboot, the chkdsk never runs.

    My wife has all of its graduates work on the computer, I backed up since then, but I try to avoid doing a restore of the entire system.  Can you help me?

    I am running Microsoft XP.

    Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your XP system.  For XP support please visit the link below
    http://www.Microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?DG=Microsoft.public.WindowsXP.General

    Also, try to start the computer in Mode safe.
    When the computer is switched on 1, start pressing F8 until you get a menu of Windows startup, choose Safe Mode.

    Sounds like something important happened (corruption).  If you have important data there (for example, your wives, diploma work), I would strongly suggest taking the computer to a qualified technician so that they can recover data out of there before the drive goes down or the o/s is too damaged.

    Good luck

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

    Data recovery, if/before you reinstall:

    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.

    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.

    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:

    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
    Download the Vista software from the link above.
    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.
    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
    See you soon.
  • Tecra S2 began to turn off the power when you run some heavy applications
    I have laptop Tecra S2 and (almost 3 years) had no problem so far.
    Recently, it started to turn off instantly when you run some heavy duty applications, such as games. He takes turns instantly and can work hours if it's just a spreadsheet or just Web broswing documents but when I start a game it takes 15-20 minutes.
    Once I started it even once, it takes less time to get the same result.
    My guess is overheating - any ideas how to fix?
    Or it may be something different?
    See you soon
    Hello
    There is nothing to fix. The laptop needs to be cleaned. It must be done on the professional track. This means that the laptop must be disassembled as just at the moment when the cover is removed the cooling fan and the cooling rack can be cleaned properly.
    After having this laptop will work like new.
  • Satellite A500 - game starts only when you run fraps
    Hello
    I have a Toshiba Satelite A500 with an i5, nvidia GT330M with 4 GB of RAM card, I only use drivers for toshiba and in dead rising 2 there are some significant slowdowns tried
    Patches as rename the dead rising2.exe etc., it did not work, I play my resolution 1366 x 768 and with shadows and zombies at the top with 16 AF, leaving the vertical sync, sampling and blur to the broad, the game is full of similar slowdowns trolling (character begins to run slowly).
    More funny thing is that when I recorded with fraps (lock the framerate on) I can play smoothly with no slowdowns at all, I even tested and set of 4 complete (AA) and turned on the vertical sync and the game was playable with no slowdowns on very large crowds of zombies, when I play normally without stil fraps recording, when the game slows down Press f9 for fraps to start recording and the game starts immediately
    Race "smooth", fraps makes very large files and in a short time it would fill my drive, the program limits setting I tried but delays were still present:-no opinion on this subject or
    possible correction for the game?
    Hi fiurion,
    Very strange what s... To be honest I never heard tell that it is only possible to start the game when you run fraps...
    You have installed an antivirus or firewall program that could block the start of the game?
    Also I recommend that you install the latest version of DirectX and display driver.
    Help please? :(
    First, download the .NET Framework here repair tool:
    If this doesn't fix the problem. try to run .NET Fixit recording:
    Or the other of these two should solve the problem for you, but in the case where it is not, then here are some alternatives:
    However, there is no option to 'fix' these components...?
    You can reset windows update components by referring to article:
    Download and save the fix it 50202 from the page above.
    Close all open programs and browsers before you run the fix it.
    Remove all excess icons (each of them, essentially) of the taskbar (lower-right)
    As downloads fail, when you run the patch, choose it is the default mode when you run it the first time.
    When he finished, check if download updates now.
    If updates are still not download after running it, then run it again and choose it's aggressive mode.
    Then reboot and see if the download updates now.
