I am running windows 7 on my laptop and I'm trying to uninstall itunes but I encounter an error that says "system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation. I have searched through various forums and I always get a response I need to access my local security settings... But I don't see this option in my control panel. And now I'm in school and this situation is not allowing me to download programs that I need. Please help me

    Thanks in advance

If this does not help, I suggest you to download and install the latest version of Windows Installer that should correct the problem. For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

can you send me a link? I can't find. and I tried the steps that you suggested but no luck.

RE: latest version of Windows Installer
Someone suggested that. I don't have.
This person post disappears from this thread. Don't ask me how or why.

To answer your question, here is the link: Windows Installer redistributable version
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

Be careful. Start by reading everthing.
Use the download that applies to your version of bits, i.e. 32-bit OS or 64-bit.
    86 = 32 bits
    64 = 64-bit

    Hi J1walters,

    ·        The computer is connected to a domain network?

    ·        Which edition of Windows vista is installed on the computer?

    ·        You are able to install other programs outside of Quicktime?

However, you can try the steps below and check if it helps to install Quick time.

    Method 1

    a. open the location of the downloaded program.

    b. right click on Setup.exe or install icon.

    c. click the run as Administrator option.

Check if the program is installed.

    Method 2

Try to temporarily disable control user account (UAC) on the computer and try to install the program and check if he moved very well. Subsequently re-enable the UAC settings after installing the program.

Access the link below to see how to enable and disable the UAC settings.

  • All of a sudden, the .mts files and some mp4s will not load project on one computer (still works great on the second computer)

Worked on a project all week, no problem.  Had to restart the computer, project manager, now all files .mts say 'type of compression not supported', and some fine previously mp4s (made in After Effects) to display only green.  But it's not all mp4s, only some of them.  Through all the forums.  Do you have all the deactivation, reactivation, uninstalling, re-installing, etc..  The same problem.  Responsible for the project even upward on a laptop and it works fine.

Nothing new has been installed.  Nothing has changed on the computer.  I rebooted, it so I could move to another office.  It worked very well at 09:55 this morning, and when I tried to reload the project after the restart at 10:20, it no longer works.

Fortunately, my laptop slow can at least load and export the final of this project.  But I need my rear main system.

    Thanks in advance.

Installs all the files in a NEW folder (not only renamed the current folder), can of the moment, and now they all work again!

  • I could not fix Windows XP Home service pack 2 upgrade. The system indicates that it cannot find a previous version of Windows installed .__I lost the previous version disk.

    Hi, I'm in big trouble.

I just try to repair my Windows XP service pack 2/3 upgrade.

The system asked me to save the copy, but after trying to save the computer freezes.

I try several time to reinstall and now the system asked me to reinstall the software, I need to reinstall the earlier version of Windows that has been '2000', but unfortunately I throw away a few months ago.

I bought a new hard drive were I have installed a new version of XP 64-bit.

Is it possible to transfer all my documents, files, settings, etc in the new hard drive?

    All advice avaiable?

    Thanks in advance.

    CICO.

Disconect your drive, insert your disk again as master, install Windows XP on the new drive. Once msupdate was executed and the manufacturers drivers have been installed and the sys works ok.

Stop, connect the old drive as slave, restart

Transfer data as needed. You may need to "take possession of records" - see victory help (donot attempt the transfer settings)

  • I can't reinstall firefox, I get the error 'Could not load profile' and not a solution I found works. / Appdata/roaming/mozilla folder is not accessible.

I'm on Win7 64 bit. Initially, I uninstalled because a program has changed my page of the new tab to something unwanted and I literally had no way to change this back. Now, every time I reinstall, I get the error "cannot load the profile, it may be missing or unreachable", and I can't create a new profile. Whenever I try to any method of opening the profile editor, I get the error 'Could not load profile' then too. I can't access the folder in/appdata/roaming/mozilla at all. It is said it is accessable and access is denied, and tries to remove it tells me I have not permission (even if I'm the admin). No other difficulty I saw worked. Can someone help, please?

I have done a virus scan, cleaned up one piece of adware, rebooted, and it worked all of a sudden. I don't know what exactly caused to start working, but he did, so I consider this issue closed.
