  • Downloaded the album doesn't play no not on Windows Media Player

I recently bought a movie that included the soundtrack download. I downloaded the soundtrack the same day that I ripped several other CD on my computer. I encountered a problem where for some reason, everything was put in my document rather than windows media player, which never happened to me before, so I transferred both downloaded album all CDs ripped on a playlist on windows media player. When I was unable to get transferred to my library, I gave up for the day and thought a few days to think about that I could understand it. I came home last night and all the albums themselves had moved into my library, with the exception of the downloaded album, and when I clicked it, a message comes up saying windows media could not find the file and that if I tried to burn, rip, or sync and the album that represents the position in my library, can point to an album that has been moved renamed, or deleted. I went to move my documents once again, but he was no longer there and the only place where I can find it is in the playlist, where it does not. I tried redownloading it, but it's a download time. I ran the windows media control and he says he has a corrupted file but don't tell me what to do to this topic or even what the corrupted file was for sure, but I guess it was the downloaded item. If anyone has ideas of how to do to solve this problem it would be greatly appreciated

Unfortunately, it was a Web site that has been created strictly for downloads, and when I click on the download that put it directly in the folder my documents, where I had to then transfer to my playlist, so I think he just didn't upload properly

  • Protocol RTSP does not recognize Windows Media Player 12

I am trying to broadcast a live stream via RTSP and get the error: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported. If you typed a URL in the open URL dialog box, try using a different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:"). »

I read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940029/en-us and tried the suggested resolutions, and they did not work.

I removed WMP by "turn Windows features On and Off" and then manually deleted WMP of Program Files, and files in the directory of the user. Yes, I restart after turning off the WMP.

The URL is valid, I can get through VLC stream very well.

I have disabled the firewall to try to verify that it is not blocking ports (you would think that it would not block ports since I can get the flow through VLC, but I tried just in case where).
I also reduced my security settings of IE for the smallest settings to see if it was a question of settings. Still have the error.

I do not have McAffee (others have suggested that this could cause some problems with streaming).

I'm running Windows 7 x 64 professional. Other computers using Windows 7 x 64 Pro can get the Windows Media Player 12 RTSP stream (I checked that they have the same version of WMP that I do).

I compared the registry settings between computers that work and mine for Windows Media Player without success.

I tried to connect to the different RTSP stream and I get the same error, as shown above.

I could really use help I am running out of ideas.

  • DVD video disc play is not in Windows Media Player, possible decoder problem

A DVD was made product with a video camera of the dance show to my child. However, the dvd on my hp Pavilion 772n burner will not play it. The operating system is XP and when I try to play the DVD in Windows Media Player, I get a message "...". compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer. Interestingly, the DVD disc plays in a DVD VCR connected on television.

What should I do to play the dvd on the pc?

On XP you must install software that can play DVDs. Both Vista and Windows 7 that include by default.

Here is a (quite old) Microsoft article describing what you see: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/expert/bridgman02april15.mspx

On XP, I used to use the card nVidia PureVideo Decoder for playback DVD with Media Player. It seems to still be available, but is chargable:http://www.nvidia.com/object/dvd_decoder.html

You may want to google for a free DVD decoder for XP.

  • Media Player will not work "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the required video codec is not installed on your computer."

I currently have Windows 8.  However, when I try to play a seminar online on the internet, I get the following message is displayed:

Windows Media Player can not play the file because the required video codec is not installed on your computer.

Can someone point me in the right direction to solve this problem?

    Please and thank you!

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Community forums.

I understand that you are not able to play a Webinar on the windows computer using Windows Media Player 8.

I would be grateful if you can provide us with the following information to help us better understand the issue.

1 you get an error code or the name of the codec to install?

    2. are you able to play other files with Windows media player?

    3. What are the file format of the multimedia files that you are not able to play using Windows media player?

    4. are you referring to the video file saved using Webinar?

This problem is caused if the file format is not supported by windows media player.

Codec compresses or decompresses media files. Windows media player uses codecs to play and create media files.

See the link below for the types of files supported by windows media player.

    https://support.Microsoft.com/kb/316992?WA=wsignin1.0

You can also refer to a link to find out what codecs are installed on your computer.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/codecs-frequently-asked-questions#codecs-frequently-asked-questions=Windows-8

    Additional information:

See the link below if you receive a playback audio codec error but video does not play when you play files multimedia in Windows Media player 11, as shown in the link also applies to Windows Media player 12.

  • Captivate 7/8 demo video mp4 video file plays only not on WIndows Media Player

I created a video demonstration using Captivate 7, then 8 Captivate. I have published on my computer as an mp4 file. When I play the MP4 file on WIndows Media Player audio plays but no video. My settings look good.

I run when I have it loaded as content to Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro. Audio and video playback with no problems. This could be a problem in WIndows Media Player? This just started happening.

I was able to contact Adobe Support. They had me try on the video release settings to change the preset custom YouTube Widescreen HD. This seems to fix the problem and the MP4 Player now plays in WIndows Media Player

  • VOB files don't play no not in Windows Media Player

I have several DVD that have been copied to my hard drive.  When attempting to open the .vob files, I use Windows Media player.  WMP opens, then closes while PowerDVD DX opens.  Nothing happens at this point.  Looking through the forums and search on the internet I can't find a solution that works.

    Hello jtrall, welcome.

It seems that WMP (Windows Media Player) is given to the task of playing the. VOB to PowerDVD files because of several possible reasons:

1 PowerDVD is set as default program for reading VOB file
2 WMP cannot find a proper way to play the VOB file
    3. missing Codecs or other program incompatibilities

In order to diagnose the problem and find a solution, we will need to know:

1A Windows Media Player never been able to play the VOB files before?
    2. what version of Windows Media Player are you running?

You should be able, as a temporary workaround, use PowerDVD as the DVD playback software. If you start PowerDVD, and then click File > Open (or something similar) you will be able to select the source of the DVD files that are VOB files stored on your computer.

Send us the above information and we can go from there

    Thank you!

  • Speakers play in Windows, but not in Windows Media Player or other audio programs

My system is a Dell Studio XPS 9100, Win 7 Pro 64 bit desktop.

I had four speakers + sub connected for years and suddenly the rear speakers won't play any sounds other than in the test of Control Panel / configuration mode. In other words, when I go to the Panel and test the speakers, all right. But when I try to play any kind of audio file (.mp3, .wav or a CD) in WMP or VLC media player, I have no sound from the rear speakers.

It's maddening because they were fine until yesterday. Exchange where they are plugged into the native card is moot because everything works when I'm in the Panel and test (so it is not a connection problem).

    Any ideas?

Solved. It was a DD Realtek Audio Manager setting. (I would like to delete this post if this option was available.)

  • Length of track are not not in Windows Media Player

While trying to burn an album on a cd, I found that I could not due to the fact that the titles of the album, a length of track was missing. Another problem, it is now, I can't ask through the song with the search bar on the bottom. Songs from the album to have their lengths of track, but they have lost for a reason any. The first picture is a screenshot of what the album looks like now. At the time where the album did show the lengths of track, I've included some of the titles within a playlist. This playlist, shown in the attached another screenshot, still shows the lengths of track while the real album isn't. Other threads asking this question proved without help. How to restore the lengths of track from the album?

This is more likely to do it with a few recent updates (to do with modifications to allow the upgrade to Windows 10) that it has to do with something else. Could well be addressed in updates of June so unless you are having other problems, I think that you can ignore this - at least until what updates this month.

I suggest the next test, you should try opens a new user account (control panel - user accounts - not the guest account). Configure WMP with the default settings and test-rip some CD (or transfer in some albums via a memory stick) and see if the screen is behaving properly there. Thank you - r.
