Counselor says that I can run Windows 7. Installation stops and says hardware not compatible. All advice appreciated.

Go to the last part of the installation, the installation stops and returns to Windows Vista. Receive the message "hardware not compatible". How can I find the material that is causing the problem?

Hi, Jerry,.

Uninstall your antivirus software

Tips for solving common problems when Windows 7 won't install troubleshooting

1. start Windows Upgrade Advisor to see if there are known issues that might affect the installation and correct them.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

2 disable any security software: anti-virus, firewall etc. Don't forget to activate the Afterwords.
3 make sure that your computer has the BIOS and latest drivers. Update of the BIOS can be risky, don't do that if nothing else works.
4. disconnect all external devices except the keyboard and mouse before installing.
5. If using a video card and the computer has integrated video use and remove the video card.
6 unplug the computer from the internet, if you have wireless disable.
7. RAM (memory) - reduce the amount of RAM. 1 GB if 32-bit installation, 2 GB for 64-bit, then replace RAM if the upgrade was successful. If you added new RAM make sure it is also compatible.
8. If you have several hard drives remove all except the one that you install Windows 7, and then replace it after Windows 7 is installed.
9. If you have downloaded Windows 7 and it burned a DVD test burn again at the slowest speed possible. It is also possible the download may have errors, you can try to download it again.
10. If you click 'Upgrade' to start the installation make sure that you take a supported upgrade path. You can't make a square by update: type A) XP to Windows 7, B) fuse change - 32 to 64-bit, C) change languages, D) decommissioning editions ex: Vista of the month last 7 Pro, or E) Vista Home Pro 7.

11. check your RAM (memory) to find errors. Can take a long time, don't make that if nothing else has worked.
(A) Insert the Windows 7 DVD and restart the computer.
(B) start from the Windows 7 DVD.
(C) select your language, and then click Next.
(D) click on "repair your computer" then select the operating system to fix it.
(E) click on the link of the Memory Diagnostics in the system recovery menu.
(F) the computer will restart and your memory is checked for errors.

12 turn off startup programs:
(A) click Start, type MSCONFIG in the search box and press ENTER.
OK the authorization of user account control and password if necessary
If you are using XP: click Start, run, and type: MSCONFIG and click OK.
(B) on the general tab, click Selective startup.
(C) just below the selective startup, clear the checkbox "Load Startup items".
(D) click the Services tab, check "Hide all Microsoft Services", and then click Disable all.
(E) click OK, and then restart the computer.
(F) try the upgrade again.

(NOTE: If the upgrade fails and you continue to use your rear security software, then also go back into MSCONFIG and under the general Tower XP/Vista tab, click "Normal startup", and then click OK to exit.)

  • After the installation of Windows Virtual PC on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit system it does not appear in the start menu. How can I fix this so that I can run Windows XP in Windows Virtual PC?

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit running on an Intel i7 2600 system with an ASUS P8P67 motherboard.  Intel virtualualization has been enabled in the bios.  Windows XP mode has been installed on the system and the operating system has been updated with Service Pack 1.  Windows Virtual PC has been downloaded and installed, but does not appear in the start menu in the programs list. Now download for Windows Virtual PC will not allow to install another, nor that the first installation can be uninstalled because it is not on the list of programs. Virtual PC folder of Windows in the Program Files x 86 folder has only a folder with two files integration components; IntegrationCompnents.iso and Precompact.iso.

It should be in the menu... Virtual PC / XP Mode or something. I don't know, I don't use win7 atm

I have Windows 7 * 32 bit running in my computer. But a lot of games that is built on 64-bit do not work in my system. I tried to install Windows 7 * 64 Bit on another partition of my computer. But before the start of the system using the Windows 7 installation DVD, I get an error with the oxc00000e9 status. The info says: unexpected i/o error has occurred.

My question is whether it can run Windows 7 * 32-bit and Windows 7 * 64-bit on the same computer. If so, how to install the Windows 7 * 64-Bit? Thank you.

Yes, you can, but you will need to have a permit for it if you plan to have both on the same computer.

the key that can be used with 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 is designed to drive 1. You cannot use install both. 1 license, 1 installation, so choose wisely. If you want to install Windows 7 32 or 64 bit on another partition or another computer, you must purchase an additional license.

  • Last night, my laptop that runs windows xp blue screened and says something about the queue

original title: help solve a mistake, please on windows xp

Last night my laptop that runs windows xp blue screened and says something about the queue and to bring the computer out of which I did. I just tried to turn it on an hour ago, I use it now, and I got a message saying he had recovered from a serious error and I wanted to report to microsoft? I clicked Yes, but unbeknownst to me, I had no internet connection at the point of having to re-enter my our Verizon router WEP number in this laptop. I essentially self-taught myself much on computers that tell you, I'm not really computer literate, but if you can point me in the right direction, I can very well do. This is where to ask my question/problem. I went in the event viewer and found this error/explanation: Index information is corrupt and Indexing Service cannot re - index the content automatically. User action: stop and restart the indexing service using the following command:

    SC stop cisvc

    SC start cisvc

Can someone tell me please how to do this?  I think I know, but I'm really not sure so please help... Thank you

It really seems to me as if you had a temporary problem which has now disappeared and that you probably do not need to do anything.

However, please click Start, and then click Printers and faxes and report what, if anything, you see in the window that opens.

If you don't see an icon for the printer that you think should be there, you need to fix this.  On the other hand, if your printer icon is there - or if you do not have a printer attached to your computer - you need not do anything.

If you want your computer to be a little faster and at the same time save space on your hard drive, read the LifeHacker article I linked in my previous post.  However, you need not to do, and you can erase [probably] regardless of the index corruption has occurred by starting and stopping the Indexing Service (cisvc) by entering commands in a command prompt window that I described.

Yet once, you don't need to change your encryption WEP to WPA or WPA2 wifi, but doing so will make your network more secure wireless.  If you want to change your encryption, you would start by changing the configuration of your router from Verizon.  You should be able to find detailed instructions on the Verizon support site.  I don't know if you have Verizon FiOS or Verizon DSL service; This is a page of relevant support FiOS--> http://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/FiOSInternet/Networking/Setup/Security/124980.htm

    Hello

I was offered an upgrade of windows 10 on my laptop that is running windows 7, but my wifi button was not working when I installed 10 windows so I started 7 what can I do? It is an Acer Aspire 5920 G (old enough)

    Thank you.

There could be a problem with the wifi driver that comes with Windows 10. I think that you first need to find the right driver for Windows 10 on the Acer site. Otherwise, you may need to install a usb wireless card.

  • Helps to know if my computer can run Windows 8.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP - 3 on a Dell computer that I remember precisely the age.  When I try to run the Upgrade Wizard of Windows 8, I get an error message saying that it is not a valid Win 32 application, and it will not work.  I was not able to find articles or messages by other people with this problem, so I'm at a loss to know how do I know if my computer can run Windows 8.  Any suggestions or ideas?

My computer has a coprocessor 2 GHz and 3 GB of RAM, among other things, it seems that I should be able to make the transition.  But, how can I do to determine if I can't run the upgrade wizard?  I even tried Googling this issue, which usually find anything and cannot find any reference to this problem.  Any help will be appreciated.

  • Upgrading computers running Windows XP that don't run Windows 7 or 8

    Hello

Recently I was asked by a local company to help make their network more secure. Most of the company's computers are running Windows XP, and with the next support period, I told my client that they should probably upgrade their machines. Unfortunately, the machines are not running Windows 7 or 8, and given the constraints of cost, my client asked that the solution have nothing to do with buying new machines. The only version of Windows running on the machines that is still supported is Windows Vista, but I have not found a site that can buy Windows Vista. So, what would be the version the cheapest Windows Vista my client can use, and where I can get it? If not, are there alternatives Vista can I use on machines?

    Hello

I'm sorry, but we cannot help you with Vista pricing Microsoft sells more than Vista or Windows 7 either.

You search on Amazon, etc. and take your chances that you buy not pirate software.

  • How is it that some machines running windows vista, when the router is updated or changed, they show "limited or local only" when you reconnect then wireless.

problems with wireless Vista "local only".

How is it that some machines running windows vista, when the router is updated or changed, they show "limited or local only" when you then reconnect wireless... nothing else was changed on those computers and other devices can connect ok?

    Hello

Each router is assigned to the specific address (called IP address or IP address). And each router maintains its own database (called as base of router) to follow the networking devices communicate with him. When the router is changed, the particular router is unable to detect the device, especially the network card to communicate with the computer.  Since he does not have details of the database of network devices, communicate with him.

  • Toshiba 655 / windows 7 can run windows 10

655 Toshiba with windows 7 never be able to run windows 10.  The list on the website of Toshiba is not Satellite 655 as one that is capable of upgrade to Windows 10.  My question is this: that I can do for this laptop to be upgraded to Windows 10, or he will never be able to run Windows 10?  I expect updates on your part, Toshiba, other owners a L655 and other forums with an answer to my problem!  I saw anything regarding my problem.

I'm not someone who has the money to buy a new PC, and I don't like Windows 7.  But I read recently that you people will more or less force all the world to Win 10 and I did not speak of those of us who want to win 10, but own systems which are not compatible with it. I and others with the same question will be able to book a copy of Windows 10 once the year of free updates are passed?

I checked 10 Windows and it looks like a BONE I could if more time to check it out. However being a faithful disciple of Microsoft, I always choose Windows NT as my first pic and Windows 7 as my second choice. They are almost identical and are very user friendly for those of us with the technology background. Until I retired from teaching, I had the opportunity to have and use Windows NT as an advantage for having participated in a seminar of MS-DOS in the early 1990s. Once I found Windows 7 I was just as happy with it as I was with NT. There, because I hope you can help me with my problem and send me a reply to the e-mail.

Thank you for service and products that you have given the public has continued to progress in the world of technology.

Looking forward to your response and once again thank you for everything you do.

1st off there is a forum led by peers, you do not directly contact Microsoft in any form of official duties. The site can be read by anyone, including your personal information. The forum software can pick up and block email addresses but not your home address.

2nd it is down to the individual manufacturer if they will support their legacy hardware running the software update. Microsoft provides the pre version of the software to them, but in this case, it is entirely to Toshiba, if they want to support a particular device. That they would get no special recipe if it requires some investment is extremely likely. Perhaps that the system runs Windows 10 without additional drivers, but the original system specifications is very low. Forum Toshiba may have someone who has tried and you could experience yourself, just make sure you have backup an recovery options before you start.

Bernd, these rights are not necessary to the reader XI. Unless the file has been secured, then it should be savable.

I recommend that upgrade you to the latest version of the XI player that is available and if this does not work, try to run a repair installation (or upgrade to DC).
