  • Im a victim of counterfeit software Windows 7, need to reinstall XP

Im a victim of counterfeit software, having bought what I thought was a genuine copy of Windows 7 at a reasonable price and installed on a new laptop which had Vista as OS, recently if, after doing an update, I am now receiving messages saying: my version of windows is not legitimate, if I want to reinstall my very legit copy of XP Unfortunately, when I'm trying to do, I am told that I have a newer OS on my system if it cannot perform the reinstallation of XP, what should I uninstall in order to perform this operation? That is to say, to be able to reinstall Windows XP. Any help would be most appreciated, thank you.

Restart, and then you must boot from the XP CD (put the cd in, change the startup disk in the BIOS for the cd), press a button then follow whats on screen.

At each time it restarts, it will say press a key, leave it leaves finish. Otherwise he's going in circles, and you'll be here all night XP installation

I suggest that you run the diagnostic tool Microsoft Genuine Advantage in normal mode and copy and paste the results into a response for further analysis:

Run the tool and when it ends, click the copy button, open a text such as Word or Notepad file and select Edit, paste. You can paste directly into an answer here. Open a response, right click and select Paste.

  • Receiving a message the I may be counterfeit software!

    Its not fake software!

Foolishy someone removed AVG from my XP desktop and put MSE on and, of course, he claims that my XP software may be forged in an effort to force me to upgrade to Windows 7.  This PC is 8 years old and was supplied with XP installed, I don't even remember the key.

I saw somewhere, a phrase saying that the product key is the computer, how can I find it and stop MSE trying to force me to upgrade, Microsoft have never matched XP as far as I'm concerned (I have other computers running under Windwos 7) and I will not be pushed off the coast for false reasons would be so happy for all the advice?

    A big thank you JJ

There are programs that can recover your computer Windows product keys, one of them is "Keyfinder.
    KeyFinder: <> http://www.magicaljellybean.com/ >

Most manufacturers of OEM systems integrate the key as part of the installation when done with your recovery discs provided by the manufacturer, or your recovery partition.  Of course, you would be required to completely back up your computer and reinstall Windows and all your applications.

Perhaps a first step would be to follow the advice in the following article:

"Windows Genuine Advantage does not validate a copy of Windows XP"

    Good luck and HTH,
    JW

Also, make sure your computer case.  Sometimes, the key is on a sticker on the case.

    SSDT BrtRef DD01BRT

Your problem is that for some reason, the system is unable to properly match material with the SLIC table in BIOS, that is required to be able to triggered the key OEM_SLP with which the computer came installed.

The normal solution is to change the key for that on your COA sticker - but you say that you are unable to read the key here.

In such circumstances, are the only things you can do

    (1) Re-create the license store - in which case it's a minor software problem causing the is

    2) try to update BIOS to the latest available Vista compatible one, since the manufacturer's website

    (3) contact the manufacturer and see if they can provide assistance to correct the SLIC table

    (4) a reformat and reinstall using the manufacturer's recovery media

    (5) purchase of a new license for Windows (or a new computer)

It * may * be an alternative solution, if you are patient and persistent.

Attempt to activate by phone and speak to an operator - they will tell you that your current key is locked (they then seek confirmation of your product key). Explain your problem, you must change the key of your sticker, but the thumbnail is unreadable (they could please provide a replacement key?). If all goes well, they will request documentary proof of the sticker, in the form of an e-mail with a picture of the affected tile - and you can proceed from there.

It sometimes takes two or three calls before you get an operator who knows and uses this procedure, but I know that it is possible and happens.

  • Windows XP tells me that my software may be counterfeit.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE A RESPONSE FROM MICROSOFT?

    WAITING SINCE 5TH MARCH 2012

I HAVE XP PRO THAT I USE NOW FOR OVER A YEAR WITH REGULAR UPDATES.  NOW everything to IT IT TELLS ME that I "CAN" REPEAT

"MAYBE" VICTIM SOFTWARE COUNTERFEITING.  I THINK EVEN in THE GOOD OLD USA ALMOST EVERYWHERE, IT IS INNOCENT until PROVEN OTHERWISE, SO IF I ' ' maybe SOMETHING I HAVE NOT BEEN PROVEN GUILTY. IF I BUY SOMETHING IN GOOD FAITH, AND IT WORKS WELL FOR OVER A YEAR, I CAN'T BE CONVICTED OF FORGERY FOR HELP, OTHERWISE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED BEFORE.

I CONFESS THAT I BOUGHT SECOND HAND, BUT I'M SURE YOU KNOW, EVERYBODY CAN'T AFFORD NEW HARDWARE/SOFTWARE, AND THAT MY PACKAGE WAS ALREADY RECEIVING UPDATES ETC, ONE MUST SURELY ASSUME THAT EVERYTHING IS OK?

NOW I'M STUCK WITH A PC (LAPTOP) WHICH HAS RIDICULOUS MESSAGES TELLING ME THAT I "BE GUILTY OF USE OF COUNTERFEIT SOFTWARE.  TO SAY THAT I'M TOTALLY P - D OFF IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.

FOR INFO, SEE REFERENCE 1 - 9.0027.0 OF 5 MARCH AND LACK OF RESPONSE FROM YOUR PART.

    THANKS FOR NOTHING, MICROSOFT RIH

The key used here is a Volume license key blocked for XP Pro-

which means that there is no way that there is a legal facility.

What version and edition of WIndows, your computer under license - according to the COA sticker on the case?

If the sticker COST says XP Pro, you can try to change the key to that on the sticker with the http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows/help/genuine/product-key product key update tool

If the sticker COST says something else, you will need to reformat and reinstall the original operating system - preference by using the manufacturer's recovery media.

First of all, check your date and time system and make sure it is correct. Also try to connect to:

And validate Windows and see what error you get.

You can also try to contact Microsoft support for assistance.

  • You may be a victim of software counterfeiting error

My father had the same Dell computer for a couple of years now and never had a problem with the license.  Now, we get the error for counterfeit software.  The Windows updates won't run no more, and go to the posting form led to an offer to purchase for Windows 7.

I tried uninstall for December 2014 patch, such as recommended in other posts on this subject and that has not worked for me.

They have recently installed the trial version of Avast which expires in 8 days, do not know if they are related but another antivirus post information requested.

  • Installer wrongly claims that it is software counterfeit. I paid for it. How can I contact customer support to fix this?

    EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Installer says it is counterfeit software, but is not - how can I get customer support for this problem?

    DETAILS

On installation of creative suite master collection cs6, the installer says "the product you want to install is not a real software from adobe and seems to be counterfeit. Please report a piracy or contact customer support for assistance. Needless to say that the product is genuine and legitimate. I teach at a University, and I bought a perpetual license for it in 2013. I installed it on my laptop then. I now have a new laptop and installed it on the new. I did not disable the old one because I need to keep at least one that works. Help Adobe says 'one license for Adobe software allows you to install an application on two computers,' which is what I do. The serial number has been validated as correct. The link 'contact customer support for assistance' sending me on this forum, rather than to a real customer support representative. Detection of piracy hits a false positive that annoys a real customer. How can I contact someone who can verify the legitimacy of my account and solve this problem? Thank you.

Thank you. The pointer finally got someone in a live chat. They suggested that perhaps my install files were corrupt. They were not able to provide the correct hash values (which would have allowed me to check if my files were corrupt or not without having to re - download them) so my only recourse is to download some 10 GB of Adobe and see if that fixes it. I do as we speak, and meanwhile I'll go to bed.
