CP1515n - launch the installation CD on each cell unique in the WIFI network?

Hello world

Can be

My question is too basic, at least

I couldn't find an answer in this forum,

or... .any info explicitly in textbooks:

I have installed successlully the cp1515n since the installation CD,

and allows to print from my computer 'host' (excellent btw).

The cp1515n is also XP - enabled LAN.

Configuration is the following:

1. 'host' is a XP computer via an ethernet to the router WLAN cable.

2 cp1515n connected via ethernet cable to the router WLAN

3 many laptops to connect wireless to the WLAN router.

I can ping the cp1515n since laptop, but nothing else...

Question:

Since the cp1515n has a built-in print server...

Should I really go through this long procedure with the installation CD

on each of our laptops?

I assumed, that

When a new laptop connects to my WIFI,

It should also automatically have access to the printer, as it does with my old printer Laserjet 4 p,

(without having to install any additional SW)

and this... even if the 'host' is turned off, (which does not with printers Laserjet 4 p)

I of course appreciate a clarification,

Kind regards

Ottokar

PS: I can also access the properties of the printer etc through http://192.168.178.27!

Thanks guys,.

was obviously too simple to be of interest:

1. installation CD must be run on all of the PCs on the LAN / WLAN,.

but do not do the things fully animated on the other PC,

so only the button 'install product SW '.

(a bit misleading, it installs just the drivers, which is what I wanted).

2. the other flaw in my thinking was that I overestimated what is a print server:

It is not a spooler or any kind of 'high intelligence' in the box,

It's just the installation options printer access with a Web browser!

3. in addition, it makes sense to assign a fix IP address to the printer.

DHCP should only lose his time with other IP addresses in the network.

Good impression to everyone!

  • OfficeJet 6600 connects to the wifi network

    Hello

I bought an Officejet 6600 and effortlessly connected to my wifi network, print and scan for a day. And there are two days that he stopped conntecting to the wifi network. In the meantime, our router turned off and turned back on. That's the only difference.

First of all, the printer would not even detect the wifi network. I solved that by changing the configuration of the router (Cisco 3925 EPC) and passed under the Setup wireless "Wi - Fi protected setup" to "manual". I can now see the network on the printer again.

But after that I've selected my wifi network and enter the WPA password, the printer tells me that the network connection is impossible. I printed a page of diagnosis, which told me that the problem is perhaps related to the MAC filter. But I have no MAC filters. I also tried to pass of WPA/WPA2 to WPA only, but that doesn't change anything.

I also tried to set the mode wireless via the USB cable, but no avail. Everything seems to work, until the moment when he tries to connect to the wifi (screen with 'configuration' with the large antenna and pulses of radio waves).

Should I give up and bring it to the store? I'm getting desperate!

Thanks for your help in advance,

    Raphaël

OK, to make sure I understand - the printer connects effectively to your wireless network, and well it works for a while once the printer goes to sleep, your computer or router may not wake.

If this is the case there are a few things that we can try:

    1. in the settings of your router, make sure that the multicast is enabled.

    2. set the 2.4 GHz router to 11 channels.  I know it sounds weird, but please try.

    3. set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

  • Can't connect to WIFI on all locations where the WIFI network is available

Sometimes my computer will connect and detect the networks without wire, Hotels, airports etc. but do not work in the home and in some offices.

I run put WXP updated with SP2 have an Artheros5005gs adapter. Any ideas?

    Hello

It is a matter of compatibility between the WLan router and wireless network card.
If the wireless network adapter does not support the same Wlan standards then you will not be able to establish the WiFi connection.
Especially the hotspots (Wlan on airports, city, etc.) are not secure and that is why the laptop automatically connects to these wireless LANs.

The WiFi network at home or in the office is secure for most and you need a right encryption key to connect to these wireless LANs.

So I think you should check you settings router WLan configuration and usage of encryption right key, SSID, etc.

    Hello

    1. what exactly happens when you try to connect to the WIFI network?
    2. do you receive any error messages?

    Method 1:

  • restrict the physical size of the wifi network

    Hello

I intend to cover the building 80x80m by the amount of 1131AG APs and WLC4402 controller. But the strong demand of the customer is to physically restrain the posibilities of the long distance wifi connections (100 m and more building).

Is there a function in wifi Cisco to drop connections incoming in case if the customer is 100 + m AP? (I mean that the power of the customer is high enough for this)

What are the regular methods of resricting the physical size of the wifi networks?

    Thank you.

Someone could be more than 100 meters away using a parabolic grid antenna, and the signal strength is perhaps not different from your regular users.

You can try using the location device, but I think that even this might go a little goofy, if someone tries to spoof a MAC address.

  • Automatically by turning and the wifi network?

Is it possible to create a guest wifi network that automatically turns on market every day at certain times?

    Sorry, but no.

However, there is a way to control the hours of each day that a wireless device would be authorized to connect to the Guest network.  For example, an iPad has to connect... Every day... Between... 08:00 and 22:00.  the iPad is not able to connect to any other time.

  • HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-one: printer stopped connecting to the wifi network

Hi, my printer has suddenly stopped detecting my wireless network. When I turn on the printer, wireless blue light continues to blink and there is an exclamation point on the screen of the printer. I still have the same wifi network as before and have not changed it or its parameters. I have not physically moved the printer and the wireless works fine for all computers, iPads, and phones.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the HP Utility Set Up software but it couldn't detect the printer to set up.  I also tried running the diagnostic results, but all the results, said 'Not work', 'Not applicable' or 'None'. I can't even an IP address for my printer.

My laptop can detect the printer if I turn on the wireless Direct button and I connect to this network on my laptop, but that's all. I'd rather connect the printer to the wifi so I can print from all my devices (phone, iPad etc.). The printer is less than 6 months and I do not understand what is the problem with him. Can you please specify?

    Hey @Sue1990,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that the all-in-one printer Deskjet 2540 does not connect to your wireless network. I can help you with that.

To connect the printer to your network again you will need to run the USB cable from the printer to your computer Mac OS x 10.7. This makes the open Applications, Hewlett-Packard and inside this folder you will find a program with a similar name to the installation wizard. If you run this program, then you will find options to connect your printer to your wireless network.

Please let me know how it works for you and let me know if you have any questions.

    Have a wonderful evening!

  • M40X-141: black screen when you use the WiFi network

Since I bought my M40X 141 in July 2005, I got black screen frequently when you use the wifi.

You know this black screen with typical noise from the hard drive.

I did all the updates without effect. The local seller understood nothing black screen, associated with the use of wifi.

In the XP world, nobody seems to find this kind of abnormal things so I'm desperate to find a solution to stop the frequent black screens. Recently try a usb dlink wifi dongle (dwl-G122) the constant flow of black screens disappeared
(An Xp session 10 days was previously impossible).

Now, I know this is a bug in the original software and I try desespartely to find a patch or updated driver or professional advice.

Is there someone here who can help a tired multi restart man to use his laptop with the original material?

Your laptop should still be guaranteed if you bought in June 2005. Take it to your authorized Service Provider nearest and have their say. They should already provide for a procedure for this and know what to do. Sure the frequency that uses WIFI and display inverter coincides, and you get the black screen. Change them should fix this problem.

  • Satellite L300 loses the IP address using the WiFi network

    Hello

I recently bought a Satellite L300 and installed Windows XP. While I installed all the devices available for download drivers my wireless connection is still not working properly - the IP address shows as lost after several minutes of functioning and on several occasions the laptop froze and had to manually turn off (if the wireless connection is turned off to this isn't the case)

You have ideas or suggestions on why this is happening?

Thanks in advance for your support!

    Hello

Check if the most recent BIOS is available for this model of laptop and if yes, then try to update.
As next update Win XP to the last State. All MS patches, updates must be installed.

I m not very well what WLan card you but you are trying to install the WiFi adapter driver on the WLan card manufacturer site.

Finally, and especially if you lose the WLan IP address and then start the CMD (in the window RUN) and type this command:
    ipconfig / renew

  • Printer HP Officejet 6100 (h611a) can not find the WiFi network

My printer HP Officejet 6100 has recently lost its eprint connection and would not reconnect.  I asked for help and told

I tried to power on the printer, the modem and the router so that it would reset but the printer would not still find or connect to the wireless network.  The little blue light on the printer for wireless connection just continues to blink.
