I tried everything I know to be limited on computers knowledge. downloaded all Windows updates and spent hours on the thing. My sound card is Microsoft HD Audio so always on the automatic update?  Any suggestions gratefully received.

Richard

Yes, I got the same problem with the release of cracking sound after I upgraded my Esprimo V5515 from windows vista to windows 8. To cure the problem, click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select mixer. Click the speakers under the label of the device, and then click the Advanced tab. In the default Format drop-down list box, select 16-bit, 44100 Hz (Cd quality) click on test to check if ok. Sound was so well on my laptop.

    Hello

It could be a problem with your power adapter. I suggest you use another card and see if the problem is resolved. To get help, I suggest you to check with the manufacturer of the system.

  • Crackle sound windows on Satellite P100

I have a Satellite P100 and keep problems with the sound, I frequently get crackles of sound effects to Windows, and recently the speakers stopped working for a few moments, then came back. When I tried to turn the volume up I could not access the speaker controls as it said that there is no active device.

Has anyone else had this problem or has a solution. ?

Found an interesting thread about crackling noise on the P100 and as the user TDC , said that the audio driver should be updated.
BUT: Before installing the audio driver updated to at least the BIOS version 2.10 or higher must be installed on the laptop.
Be careful with the update of the BIOS. Choose the good BIOS and the right update procedure

  • Sounds of Popping/crackling of Windows 7

    Hello

A few days ago my sound seemed to flinch on me on my laptop. I played on this subject and it was working fine. I have shut down, went to work, and when I went to turn it on, the sound doesn't seem to work at all. All you hear are popping and crackling sound from speakers.

I initially thought maybe it was a problem with the hardware with the speakers. I tried to use the headphones to the audio jack, perhaps thinking that my speakers simply don't work. There is no sound from the headset as well. All you hear are jerky sounds.

Subsequently, I assumed that maybe it's a software problem. I uninstalled the driver and rebooted to windows can automatically re - install the drivers. It is the same where there is no sound coming from the speakers or the helmet except for creaking.

I tried to use the Recovery Manager thinking it could have been an update that I did not know who caused this. I went back to a previous recovery point, I know the speakers did not work, and the same thing happened when the speakers and the headphones does not work, only sounds jerky.

I tried solving audio problems via http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Open-the-Playing-Audio-troubleshooter. Still nothing.

I tried to disable the speakers under the playback devices and nothing seems to work. I even tried to test under SOUND. The green bar moves to the top, but all you hear is the sound static burst. Any attempt to sound playback via youtube, DVD, anything and everything you hear is that its break-up.

The only thing I can think is my sound card does not work or something can be messed with my registrys. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do next.  I ordered an Amazon's USB sound card and should be here in a few days to try, but if it fails, I'm out of ideas. It is highly unlikely that both the audio jack and speakers flinched at the same time, so I frankly didn't know what to do. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you.

Try to run Microsoft Fixit from the following links and verification:

If the problem persists, try the update/uninstall Java RE and then check.

    Hello

And go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/notebook > looking for drivers and downloads Section > equip your laptop computer model number > find your operating system > download and install the drivers etc you will find Audio.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.

You should only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft normally does nor those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.

But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the 'wrong' for your installation.

You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:

    'Remove an update'

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update

When you have found the issue of update of the list of updates which is presented > then right click on the update problem > select Hide update > and it will not be available to you once again

    Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system

  • my laptop makes a funny crackling sound no matter what I'm listening to or what IM listening through!

I am running windows vista on an acer aspire 5715z and since I have just more than a year. About six months ago a funny crackling sound began to appear when I was listening to music or watching movies, no matter if I used the headphones, internal or external speakers.

Since then, I tried several things to solve the problem, including following all the steps that I got from another forum online.
I also sent acer and asking questions about what they think it might be. They replied, saying: it is very probably the sound card, but it might be the drivers, so I reinstalled audio drivers but that didn't work.
My last attempt at the question of setting was to buy a new USB card external sound only that has not solved the problem either!
    Can someone help me?

    Hello

No way to know if a computer store can help you or not. Do you have sent Acer support because it could
    be a known issue.

You are absolutely sure that pilots of its display in the latest Device Manager are after
audit of Acer and one that makes the unit (if it is possible)?

  • Distorted crackling sound when you use either 32/64 bit Windows 7 on Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo V5535 using high definition Audio Device.

Hello. I have a problem with the sound on my computer. I think that's maybe a bug in Windows 7. Whenever I try to play music or watch a video there is some distorted crackling sounds that come also with audio. I had no such problem in XP or Vista. I have tried everything to solve this problem re-installing the audio drivers switching different and trying different versions of Windows 7 but without success. I have not had any problems with him using Windows 7 beta, but I do now running version 7600. And my lapyop is well capable to run Windows 7 at 2.26 Ghz CPU, 2 GB Ram, 320 MB graphics card - its very fast. Only problem is her. I even tried the Realtek audio drivers for it and I get the same problem - and they are the most recent up-to-date.
    Help, please!
    Thank you

Hello. I do have the problem fixed - this is if you have a RealTek sound card. You need to contact them about the problem and they should give you a diagnostic tool. Run the tool and the info. Then send it to RealTek. I got good service from them that everything was done in half an hour! They sent me a version updated their driver who was in phase beta but the change Turn Off Mode jumper (if it makes no sense to me) and it works completely fine! I even had new arrivals with him too - special enhancments that can change the height of the audio, karaoke, effects on the environment and Equalizer mode. No crackling or distorted sound.

  • Problem of sound with Skype only - HP Pavilion laptop Windows 7 x 64

I have problems with the sound with Skype only - all other software that requires a sound work fine.  I don't hear my correspondent.  My Skype settings seem to agree and I get no error message.

    I run 7 x 64 window.  I have a laptop HP Pavilion G7.

    Any help?

    Hello

Sorry, you have problems. For Windows 7, try this:

Sign in to Skype. Click Tools at the top of the window, and then select Options in the menu drop-down. Click Audio settings in the left pane. Under the speakers, you can:

    • Use the Volume slider to adjust the volume.
    • Click on the arrow down in the drop-down menu to select the appropriate stakeholders.
    • Test the speakers by clicking on the green arrow next to the drop-down list of speakers.
    • Click on the link to make a free test call to make a test call.

It may be a good idea to plug a headset as a test to see if it works. You don't need a headset with a microphone; Just use any headset allows you to listen to your music on your iPod. The nice thing about using a stereo headset is that you can always talk through the microphone on your computer, but only you will hear responses from your correspondents, and is as much your comments.

Skype has a document of support practice that may help you: I can't hear my friend... (Windows desktop) .

And now, the delicate question: it is possible that your friend accidentally cut his microphone? Or what is happening with all of your calls?
