    Hello

I currently have problems with my Toshiba laptop. I use it for internet, games, multimedia, programming... Yesterday, when I went to bed, I close the lid that does the same thing as usual--went to hibernation. But today when I tried to start the following things Notepad occur:

    1. If battery is in and laptop is plugged into AC - Laptop starts but after 1-2 seconds it stops again
    2. If the battery is out and the laptop is plugged into AC - same thing
    3. If battery is in and laptop don't is NOT plugged AC - computer laptop starts but nothing is displayed on the screen (it's not far, it looks like even a wink or something). Strange thing is that I can't turn off the laptop and then pressing the power button / stop. The only way is to take out the battery.

The lights seem to work - well they are the right things.

THX in advance for any guy advice;).

    Hello!

It's strange and looks like a hardware malfunction.

In your case, I'll try to remove the battery and the AC adapter. Wait up to an hour and then put in the battery again und plug in the AC adapter. Try it and maybe it works.

In the worst cases, you must go to a local ASP and ask a technician for help laptop.

Hi, I'm in trouble. We have here a SP6100 which went into hibernation.
Now we are unable to bring it back to live. When you press the power button, only the far left led flashes orange.

How to remove battery from the bios clock? Where is that?

    Hello

Can you please tell me if this blinking is consistent and uninterrupted or there is some sort of Morse code (orange flashing)?

If there is an excessive flashing there may be some malfunction of the equipment. If the power supply microcontroller detects an error lamp DC IN sends a blink code.

  • Satellite M40 - starting after hibernation problems

    Hello
I have a following problem, I used two OS linux and win xp, but one day, I decided to delete the linux partition, and there is the problem.
I was using the LILO Boot Manager to switch between operating systems. After you delete the Linux partition, I run Win XP and selected Hibernate.

Then the system is not successfully restore (probably a problem with the MBR after you have deleted the linux partition) and show that the screen full of strange characters.
'C', "f12", changing the settings of the bios does not help because win xp hibernation somehow has a higher priority.
For I can start from everything even to original Toshiba Recovery CD, because HDD ist first start eitherway.
I had earlier experencied that when I put in hibernation Windows, the boot parameters changed in the BIOS where used first after I close Windows normally down.

What can I do? Does anyone have an idea?
Can I somehow my laptop out of hibernation while turning on the power?

Thank you for your advice in advance
    Rafael.

    Hello Rafael

Of course, you're very impatient. Joke!

In my opinion, there is a problem with the MBR. If you start the device information stored in the MBR should give first info where is all the work saved on HARD drive (in hibernation mode).

I n t have concrete solution, but if you don t want to use Linux, you should back up all your important data and reinstall the operating system using the recovery image. After that the unit will be clean preinstalled and everything will be perfect.

  • Satellite Pro M70-275: screen doesn't work after waking up from hibernation.

    Hello

I sometimes encounter this problem: when starting the hibernation (not sure of the English term, although that. "light sleep" mode in WinXP...) the screen turns on again. The operating system seems to be up and running again, but I really don't know because I do not...
Sometimes it works fine, but I would like that it works all the time.

    Any ideas?

    / Johannes Ogren

    Hello

Will there be the same situation after waking from sleep mode?

James is right. Usually, this kind of questions is fixed with the new version of the BIOS, but you can also try installing the latest version of Power saver utility.

If anything maybe you must reinstall the OS using supplied recovery DVDs.

  • T60 freezes when you move the trackpoint right after starting

    Hello

I had this problem for quite a long time. Initially, I thought that it was due to an update to Windows XP, but I couldn't find any message on newspapers when the laptop crashes. I reinstalled XP many times to get rid of any incompatibility related to the software, but even with a new installation, it was happening.

I realized recently after several tests that the problem occurred more frequently when you move the mouse (trackpoint or touchpad) just after the start of the system (cold start or start of hibernation). What I discovered is that this will happen is no longer if I suspend the laptop after starting the system, do not touch the mouse.

The symptoms are that Windows freezes. No activity at all HD, the system responds to any keyboard and mouse input. If I close the lid of the portable computer system is not put into hibernation. The only way to regain normal operation is pressing the button for a few seconds, then the system turns off, and then turn on normally.

All the drivers are up to date.

Someone at - there experience this problem?

    Thank you

Try to remove the battery... If the battery is dead, it could give you this problem...

  • Help, please! Aspire E5-511-P4LN takes at least 30 minutes for it to start after stop down

Help, please!  I have an Acer Aspire E 15 (E5-511-P4LN) that I bought online at HSN last September, 2014.  I'm not really sure what happened past.  On the morning of April 10, 2015, I had downloaded the Wakfu game in my computer.  I played the game for two hours, then turned off my laptop around 14:30.  The same day in the night, about 9:30 pm, I started my laptop, but the monitor was blocked to the Acer Logo at least a half hour!  I thought that it must have the game I've downloaded so before going to bed I hibernated just my computer.  When I woke up the next day, it took my computer at least 15 minutes at the start of Hibernation!  Once he showed me the splash screen, there is no problem with the computer's performance.  in any case, I uninstalled Wakfu of my computer when I finally got in my computer.  I even downloaded CCleaner and used clean the registry.  However, today, April 12, 2015, when I started my computer, he remained on the Acer Logo for at least thirty minutes before taking me to the splash screen!  It's just too.  I don't know what else to do.

    strange question.

the 'fastest' solution will involve a backup of your data and a reinstall of windows.

If you don't mind not to do, turn off your laptop and turn it on by pressing ALT + F10 to launch Acer erecovery process.

If she starts always slowly, we try to limit the question on a clean system.

  • Screen broke on my A10 Pro Sat

    Hi all
I have a Satellite Pro A10 Celeron, and I think that the screen is cracked. However, I want to confirm that the screen is cracked in fact.

    It looks like this:

When the power is off, I can see a jagged black line of thinking, running in a shallow sloping curve in the upper part of the screen. The 'crack' starts about 4cm from the left and 3.5 cm high with a diagonal line from the top of the screen and 2cm from the left at the beginning of the crack. At the end of the crack, it is another diagonal line running to the top of the screen and is about 1.5 cm from the right side.

When I turn on the laptop black pit curved Garni is available with a flat bottom where is the crack. The screen is mostly white, but it is a band of about 1.5 cm wide on the left of the screen that works. (I can see my desktop). On the edges of the white box, there are a few very fine horizontal and vertical lines.

When I press on the screen I seem to be able to open the crack, doing little more big black!

    I think it's a cracked screen...

So if it is cracked, I need a new screen. A new Toshiba will cost £323,00 TTC!

    My main questions are:

    (A) what is the actual type of the screen that I have, and what its part number, description, and name of the template?

    (B) what other portable use this screen? I think that it is a Samsung screen and is used in other portable Toshiba and other manufacturers. Maybe I could get a screen of another laptop that would fit.

    (C) where would be a good place to look for a 2nd hand screen. There must be a place full of laptops with good screens and motherboards exploded or a place that sells the savlaged screens.

    (D) where can I find a tech document that will tell me how to disassemble this A10, so I can get the screen? I know that these technical documents are somewhere on this web site, but I can't find them so far.

    (E) what could happen to the screen? My father said that he became aware, nothing has happened. He was put in it is transported in his car to another place and when he's out of the case and it works... Broken screen.

    Help, please.

  • When the capacity of the battery falls Satellite Pro U300 occasionally lose power

    Hello

I suspect you have a defective battery (standard installed on the laptop) on my new Satellite Pro U300 - 11 k and I wonder if someone had a similar problem.
When the power drops to 10%, my laptop occasionally loses power. In the range of less than 7% capacity always loses power, i.e. either fails to start the hibernation, or is unable to complete the process (I can always tell if power was lost during hibernation because of the characteristic of the system of protection HD sound). I did several tests, especially in the power saving mode. "High performance" mode power seems to be a little more reliable, but still fails to shut down less than 5% of the capacity. The level of Hibernate by default on the Toshiba Windows Vista pack is as low as 2%, so I can wait until it is able to work at this level.

Overall the battery capacity is about 1 h (Media Player, fashion high performance, maximum intensity) at all about 2 to 2.5 hours (slowed or text editor, mode, brightness low power saving). Charging time is about 1 hour (seems too short). They are difficult to objectively assess that Toshiba avoids quoting the specifications of the battery, but I consider the question of the reliability of the above as being a serious (do not want to take the risk of damaging the HD). I am considering visiting the service center, but leaving both the computer and the battery with them would be a nuisance for me and I would rather avoid it if I can. I wonder if I can claim the warranty on the battery alone?

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Background information:
-The U300 is a few weeks old.
-The battery has been fully charged and discharged (approximately 15 times since purchase).
    -Cooldown takes 1 h - 1.5hrs
    -J' using Vista Business
-J' went through the power settings to make sure they are ok and to change threshold levels
-I am an experienced business user, I use a laptop computer at work which stops always perfectly to the power level of 3%

    Thanks for help

Reading your post, I do see no battery issues! Everything you say is right and not a malfunction.
Please note that the Vista operating system needs much more computing resources and the battery is much more emphasized running Vista!

Please also note that the level and time to discharge the battery can be different! Everything depands of the use of the laptop!
All the portable devices and parts waste the power of the battery at the same time and that's why there are differences in the discharge procedure.

Don t be afraid and take advantage of your laptop but if you think you will need to contact the ASP in order to clarify this issue, then feel free to contact service technician.
They should be able to help you.

I did not do anything with my laptop, just to turn it off and then after a few hours later I turned it on, and then he said: battery charge, but instead to go from 90 to 91, 92 down from 99 to 90, then 80 and he cut it while the battery recharges ;(

    That please?

Once I finally sucssed the full battery but then when I shut down the pc, NOT SHUT DOWN just that close to start the hibernation, then he the of to is the same thing that happened once again I have to charge the battery and then it comes down to % instead of upwards, why ;(?

  • What Toshiba tool allows keys FN on Equium A60?

Where can I get the software of Toshiba to allow the use of the fkeys to go to mode 'sleep', adjust brightness, etc.?
    See you soon
    ECCA

    Hello

Toshiba tools must be installed to use the FN options.
For example, the Toshiba Power Saver must be installed if you want to use the FN + F3 and F5 option to start the hibernation or standby mode.

But generally the TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility must be installed. TO switch between the following views, you must also install the TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility for display.

See the page of the Toshiba driver. You will find all necessary drivers.

  • Horizontal size of the taskbar button is TOO SMALL! (possibly a programmer for this one)

    This is a revised repost.

I downloaded a program called Styler which changes the appearance to look like Windows 7 or Royal themes. It worked fine for the first days, until that day when my laptop could not start after hibernation, so I hard-rebooted, and the horizontal size of the taskbar button is too small. I have tried rebooting, changing the appearance back, locking/unlocking/resizing components of taskbar, AND I removed the Styler. I wish I could send a screenshot. Yes, I have these vertical bars displayed and all, and no, they do not change it. I use as a separate program called AlienGUIse Alienware, which has not had a problem in 2 years, I got it, and it didn't fix it either.

It's as if there are many buttons it congestion because the function "Group similar taskbar buttons" is still active. I posted the picture of the problem in my profile.
