Create a bootable CD

I was trying to run MEM Test to identify the problem and hopefully fix my card of 1 GB PC5300 DDR2 Ram that I just installed in my HP Pavilion a1340n.  Programming I have is WIN XP Media Center Edition 2005.  When I tried to copy the iso bootable on a cd, it did not work.

What I've done wrong? How to create a bootable cd?

Use one of the two commercial software to make a DVD bootable from a .iso file
Download and install burn ISO Gear:
http://www.GearSoftware.com/gear-ISO-burn.php

ImageBurn:
http://www.ImgBurn.com/

CPU ID (CPUZ): http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
Watch the clock speed of the CPU under various conditions of loading
(when using speed step technology Intel EIST).
#1 Note:
CPU - ID has two tabs (memory and SPD) that indicates the actual speed of the memory and 'SPD' tab displays the nominal speeds
for each memory location is full.
#2 Note:
COMPARE the two values, the actual speed should not exceed the rated speed of your memory.

I'm trying to update my BIOS of v1.40 to v1.60. I don't have an external floppy drive, or a CD-Rom. I downloaded both versions of the bios upgrade. The version of windows does not install, coming up with an error of not being able to run in V86 mode.

    Hello

You can create a bootable SD card using the SD start utility which is preinstalled on some Toshiba units. But as far as I know with this card, you can start only to the DOS mode and there is no image on the SD card! Moreover, I don t think you can upgrade the BIOS with an SD card. To update the BIOS, you need a compatible floppy drive.

What are supported readers for this device:

  • Paragon/Ghost: Create a bootable clone between the (hard drives of different sizes to)

I was web-searching options of backup in the last days and want to settle on a solution of freeware Paragon or Ghost (I know that the latter meets the needs, but I wonder if the first can do with relative ease for a beginner). Here's the scenario:

My current Toshiba Satellite A660 (PSAW3C-047017 model) running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. The HARD disk is the disk HARD MK6465GSX from Toshiba (http://storage.toshiba.eu/cms/en/hdd/multimedia/product_detail.jsp?productid=341). I bought a small (500GB) Seagate Momentus XT, which has apparently Advanced Format. I guess the Toshiba HDD 512 bytes/sector, because nothing comes up in a search on the web for Advanced Format for this HARD drive.

I would like the Momentus XT allows you to create a bootable to my Toshiba HDD clone. The Momentus XT will be in a pregnant that will interface to the portable computer via eSATA. After cloning for the Momentus XT, I would replace my Toshiba HDD in the laptop with the Momentus XT due to its superior performance. The Toshiba HDD becomes my HDD auxiliary (in the external case) for the cloning of the weekly. If nothing ever happens to the Momentus XT in the laptop, I can then take the Toshiba HDD out of the enclosure and put it in the laptop. However, this mode of use of the means I have to be able to clone initially Toshiba HDD Momentus XL, then clone in the other direction later.

I read a lot about needing to be trendy, but not having alignment issues do not image, cloned, or formatted a hard drive before (except obey blindly support), I'm foggy on the understanding. Seagate announced their SmartAlign technology, but there is no corroboration on its effectiveness and no info about HARD drive models have it. Because Windows 7 is described as supporting the AF, I guess that many of the issues identified by SmartAlign are nonissues to me.

My concern is that if there are other traps due to the corresponding HDD sizes and sectors that could create problems for the cloning process, both the Toshiba HDD for the Momentus XT and vice versa. Consequences (and solutions) I'm trawling for are the inability to create a clone bootable, the completeness and accessibility of the clone and align content makes this performance impact (with the exception of those to avoid due to the use of Windows 7).

A friend I know that Ghost will properly manage the HARD disk and differences in size of the sector gracefully, avoiding the above consequences. I was wondering if freeware Paragon will handle this scenario as well. Paragon is free, but apart from the functional qualities, I would also consider ease of use in order to take a decision on the two.

Thanks for any comment on the ability of Paragon freeware to manage this scenario, the comparison of usability of Paragon & Ghost for this scenario, and anything else you think is relevant in the choice between them for my scenario.

In my opinion, this question should be forwarded to the Paragon supports.

Check the knowledge base or the forum of the community.

From my point of view, you must first create a Toshiba Recovery disk.
In this case, you are always secure you can set the laptop back to factory settings, even if the HARD drive was going to die or the system would begin to run crazy.

I have used Ghost in the past in order to back up my files. I created an image of my two partitions bootable file and this race smoothly unfortunately cannot say on Paragon or compare both applications.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

According to your description, my guess is that the program that you used has replaced the boot files on the hard drive, NOT on the flash drive. Thus, your PC no longer starts.

To resolve startup problems, you need access to a PC for this phase of work in order to create the necessary support to fix your PC boot loader.

You will need to create something called a CD-ROM to repair Win7 - which you could have done for free when Win7 was working.  This will repair the boot loader files, and if that is the problem, your PC will start OK after that.

But now, which can be obtained (with supplement) from this link: http://neosmart.net/blog/2009/windows-7-system-repair-discs/

When you download this file, it will be an ISO file.

To make a CD bootable it, you will need to download and install ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/

Once you have installed, run, select the option "Save image to disk file" and select the downloaded ISO file and that it points to a blank CD.

To make a USB bootable of it, you will need to download and install RUFUS: https://rufus.akeo.ie/

Once you have that, it is executed in the input of the unit, use the drop down menu to select the USB stick.  Near the bottom right, where is written 'Create a bootdisk to aid', select the ISO file downloaded.
    -------------------------------------

Boot from the media that you have created and follow the instructions in this link: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/681-startup-repair.html

You will probably need to run Startup Repair three times for him to fix all the boot loader.

Once completed, your PC should start OK.

    Good luck

When you have completed the installation of El Capitan, the Setup program deletes itself. So if you have not copied somewhere else, you will have again the download on the App Store.

  • Create a bootable usb key

    Hello

I followed the instructions in the article here

Create a bootable OS x Installer

This creates an OS X Install icon on the flash drive but the drive is not bootable. When I start the machine holding down the C key that he never used the USB drive and if I go to the system preferences and go to the startup of the USB disk with the installed OS X icon is not an option to select. Should not have an operating system on the drive to make it bootable?

It is not the C key it's down option.

  • create usb bootable drive Humber 7installation victory

Hello, I'm trying to create a bootable USB key for my Windows 7 installation disc.

    (1) can I create an iso of the original disc and copy to USB? So can I copy just version 64 bit home premium on the disk, because it is only a key USB 4 GB (3.72 GB usable)? Or use the larger disk?

    (2) how can I insert usb in the bios boot order?

I have a Dv7 - 2173cl running windows 7 Home premium 64-bit Windows 7 upgrade hp program disk, initially loaded with vista. But install a clean place.

    Thank you

If the ISO file is smaller than the flash player, it will work, otherwise you will need a larger flash drive.

Use the tool on this page, copy the ISO on the flash drive, a simple copy paste does not work. Red link under the install section.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

With the flash drive is plugged in, turn on the laptop and press and hold F9 quickly, continue to press F9 until the loading list of boot devices, then use up/down arrow keys to select the drive flash usb and then press ENTER.

How can I create a bootable for XP home CD?

If by chance you reinstall xp sp2 via cd, you can create a bootable cd of xp sp3 via a method called "slipstreaming".

It is relatively easy and requires files sp2 from your cd to merge with the update to sp3 from microsoft, and then make an iso to burn it to a cd.

  • Is there a download from Microsoft which will create a bootable usb media that does not have the drivers?

Original title: A bootable Windows 7 media

I work on a Lenovo 2-in-1 with Windows 7 (for games) and 10 (for a normal use) Windows to dual-boot. I created a USB stick with Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) of a legitimate Windows 7 Pro disc. The computer starts on the usb device and plays normally, however, one of the steps asks a driver for cd/dvd and this 2-in-1 (Lenovo Flex 3) doesn't have a built-in CD/DVD. All other drivers are located in a folder system. My question is, given my key Windows 7 can I create a new bootable media that does not demand drivers? Is there a download from Microsoft which will create a bootable usb media that does not have the drivers? I know that I can reinstall the drivers manually after the installation.

  • Trying to create a bootable USB I get message error "ISO image selected is NOT a valid ISO file.

    Questions of ISO image

I'll try to find a way to install Win 7 64 bit Pro - on multiple (without a DVD player) netbooks and thought I had found the solution using DigitalRiver to upload a picture ISO of the OS - then (using the MS Windows 7 DVD/USB tool) - create a BOOTABLE usb key?

However, yesterday I downloaded the image ISO (http://msft-dnl.digitalrivercontent.net/msvista/pub/X15-65805/X15-65805.iso)

(which, according to the website of souce was supposed to be 3 GB in size - but was 2 GB in size (WHY?)

And on the use of the tool USB - a got a message error "ISO image selected is NOT a valid ISO file"

-What this means and what I can do to work around this problem?

And, I think - that this procedure works with a "corporate license"?

Tried - same result - the file is obviously corrupt
I ended up using a previous download that works!

  • Can someone help me create a Bootable ISO DVD from a windows bootable USB ISO file?

    OT: Burning ISO file.

Can someone help me create a Bootable ISO DVD from a windows bootable USB ISO file?

I tried to burn the ISO of the DVD file in my system through Image burning software. All copied and verified by himself and said ok.

But, when I tried to open/run the file, it displays that autorun.dll is not a valid windows image file.  Whereas the same iso file is the opening of the bootable USB key.

Therefore, I want to copy the file to the USB.iso on DVD.

It would be simpler just take your. ISO file and use it to burn a DVD using ImgBurn. Don't forget to check the "Hash" value of your. ISO (before creating the DVD) from time to time people do they receive a corrupted download .iso.

  • Trying to create a bootable Windows 7 x 64 Flash drive. Get the "invalid MS-DOS function" error message when you try to copy the file 'bootsect.exe.mui' of the Windows ISO on Flash drive

The title pretty much everything said.  I have an installer the ISO of Windows 7 Professional x 64.  I am trying to create a bootable flash drive using these instructions:

    http://www.OSNews.com/story/20795/Installing_Windows_7_on_the_Aspire_One_or_Any_Other_Netbook

I followed all the steps in the guide without problem.  Windows Explorer shows the drive is NTFS.  I can copy all other files of ISO on the FlashDrive without problem.  Only, I can't copy this file.  I tried to copy it to my hard drive rather than on the flash drive, and it still does not work.

I tried to create a file with the same name by using Notepad to see if there was a problem with the file name.  I can copy this file on my hard drive flash drive, but I can't always copy the ISO file.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 edition and using a Corsair Flash Voyager 16 GB flash drive.
