Creating a recovery partition.

Is it possible to create a recovery once deleted partition? If so, how? Mine has been deleted by mistake and now I don't have a restore disc on my system. My car now has just a single partition: Win7 (C). I wish to create one on my system, although I used an external drive to backup & create a system image.

No you can't, if you did not create diskettes of recovery according to your PC manufacturers instructions when you got the PC, call your manufacturers of PC support for recovery disks, they will charge for these.

  • Create a recovery partition?

Hello experts!  I had a new HP Pavilion 500 (500-210qe) running Windows 8.1 a couple of days. Nothing fancy added.

I read in the HP support assistant I should create a recovery partition if my PC has not one (apparently not). Then he said that a recovery partition is usually 3-6 GB in size! This is a typing error! My PC has just 6 GB of memory. So:

    1. should I really have to create a recovery partition? And if so, it will drastically reduce the capacity/speed of my computer?

    2. If I create a partition, I should create recovery discs? And is there an article for help or instructions on how to do?

    Thank you

    Hi sonnetdog,

To the best of my knowledge all the ships of the consumer PC HP from the factory with a recovery partition (Partition D:\) and Recovery Manager software HP. This partition restoration or creation of recovery disks has no effect on the efficiency of functioning of your PC.

You must create a set of HP recovery discs using HP Recovery Manager recovery media creation software. This disk set is highly recommended.

Windows 8.1 also provides options for effective recovery. You can create a recovery on a bootable USB drive and create an image from your PC to a removable disk for use in case of a corrupted OS or malware. You can also reset or refresh your PC using the Windows recovery on the USB disk.

Here is a link on the creation of HP recovery disks or USB HP Recovery (restore factory) Player.

How to refresh or reset your PC instructions can be found here.

Please use this link to create a 8.1 Windows recovery disc.

  • Windows 7 creates a RECOVERY PARTITION? __Si Yes, what size?

Windows 7 creates a RECOVERY PARTITION?
    If so, what size?

Yes, it creates a 200 MB recovery partition:
This is for the Windows recovery environment (WinRE), also supplied with Windows Vista, only it has been available from the Windows Vista installation disc only, although some manufacturers make available on a partition separated on their factory facilities. In Windows 7, this feature is installed on all computers and is stored in the 200 MB partition if you are installing using a single partition scheme. However, if you are installing to a drive that has more than one partition, the recovery environment is stored in a folder at the root of your installation disc, so if you install to a partition with a label of C:\ she will be C:\Recovery.

To access the system recovery environment in Windows 7, simply start your PC, just before the system loads the Windows operating system. Press the [F8] key function 8 on your keyboard which will launch the menu Advanced Boot Options. You will see a new option "Repair your computer", select this option and press 'Enter' on your keyboard.

  • How to create a recovery Partition?

    Hello

I recently bought a MacBook Pro mid 2015 and immediately on the SDS for a level 1 to one.

A few days after I had problems starting (never had in 6 years!), and after a few days, I have (fortunately) had solved the problem and my Mac works OK now.

But, on the way to succeed, I had a lot of problems...

Main problem was (would have saved me a lot of time), I realized that I didn t have a recovery partition, I had to use another computer to download and prepared a USB flash bootable OS X installation.  Now that my computer is working OK, I want to know if West somehow to create a collection of OS X, so the next time (hope not) I can just press the ALT key in the boot process and choose the recovery partition at startup and the use of the Terminal application to resolve the problem.

Is this possible? If so, how?

  • Satellite C650 14U: recovery media creates the recovery partition?

Hello, I used the recovery media creator to create a USB flash drive recovery media.

If I can use that to restore Windows 7 installation on a new hard drive (as the SSD) will be the drive itself have the recovery media on that partition?

So if I then lose the USB could restore again by pressing zero when turn?

Or it does not retrieve the Windows partition and nothing more?

    Thank you

First of all, the new hard drive itself has no partition recovery on it. The recovery partition is a copy of the system partition and locates at another location, therefore, restored from a recovery media unit contains just the partition system without recovery partition.

Second, if you have a recovery on a local disk partition, you can always restore by pressing zero when power on/off. If this isn't the case, I am sorry to say that you don't you have no source of food.

In third place, somehow, we can say that it only retrieves the system partition.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome!

I'm afraid that you can't create partitions of recovery if they are deleted. End users cannot do.

If the computer is originally shipped with Windows preinstalled by HP (OEM of Windows for example), you can buy HP recovery media. They are generally cheap. You can use it to restore your computer to factory default condition. Here's how:

    > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07143

    > > http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html

And once you receive the recovery [DVD or USB pen drive] media, here's how to use it to restore default factory/Windows to a condition:

    > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03489643

    > > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PC3sUc3lr3E

If the computer is originally not is not come with Windows pre-installed, but you install on your own after that, then you need to use the Windows installation media to reinstall Windows. You can get Windows installation ISOs from the Microsoft web site and then burn it to a DVD > > https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8

Please, let me know if this helps and works for you. Feel free to post for follow-up questions.

  • Create a recovery partition. How? I lost my hard drive

Hello.. I am a new user, so please be patient... The drive in my computer hp pavilion dv5-1199ew laptop has been damaged. How to create a recovery on the new disk partition? Maybe I have to buy a new operating system? greetings. Thank you!

    Hello

Unless you created your set of recovery DVDs you will need to order a replacement set of recovery disks using the link below - the use of these will reinstall the operating system on your new hard drive, install all of the original software your laptop came with and will re-create the Partition D of recovery on the new drive...

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

  • Create the recovery Partition D on DVD - HP Pavilion 6620f

I just replaced the original, slowly due to lack of 1 TB of internal hard drive that came with this PC with a Western Digital, which is 300 GB. When you restore the backup of the original image, there was not enough space to restore the recovery Partition D. PC operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium SP1.

Someone told me to put the score on a DVD "bootable" in case of future need. 2 questions:

    1. What is the solution?
    2. If so, can someone tell me how to do? Or direct me to a place to learn?

I'm NOT a technical person found thing in replacement of entire disk completely intimidating despite all the learning that I had! That's why I don't know what to do now - or if it's feasible even for a "non-techie".

Any suggestions most appreciated! Thank you.

    Linda

    lindairene,

Your correct. The DVD will be re - create the entire original scores in C and D on a hard drive.

    (1) the hard disk (in GB) must be the same size or larger

    (2) search the original hardware configuration. You have not changed the hardware cards.

  • After restoring to a new drive, I need to create a recovery partition?

I have successfully restored a backup time machine on a new drive.  The recovery of the old system drive partition is also got copied over, or I have to manually re-create on the new drive?

I've got Yosemite, mid 2011 iMac, and the new drive is an SSD.

I got my answer: a restore partition is also created.

To see this, you must first activate the debug mode in disk utility:

    http://Macs.about.com/od/usingyourmac/Qt/enable-disk-utilitys-Debug-menu.htm

Then, open utility disk, go to 'debug'-> 'display each partition '.

Under the new drive, you will see the initially hidden recovery partition.

  • Create a recovery Partition recovery media

I'm trying to help my sister fix her laptop computer, it's a HP Pavilion DM3. The hard drive has developed a physical defect that prevents it from start in Windows, but the recovery partition seems intact.

What I want to do is to replace the hard drive with a new one and restore it using the recovery of the old hard disk partition. Is it possible that I can do the following:

    1. create recovery media when booting in recovery manager / the recovery partition?

2 copy the hidden content of the Recovery folder on this partition (when connecting the drive to another computer), so I can copy the recovery on a new physical disk partition?

Any help greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Matt

    MattGoldman,

When you request support, please provide the number full name or product model of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq made thousands of computer models. Without this information, it can be difficult, even impossible to help you solve your problem.

The information requested above are on the bottom of your computer, inside the battery compartment or on the BIOS boot screen. Please DO NOT include your serial number. Please enter the product/model information consumer HP Online Support page and post it here for our review.

The methods that you have described or procedures which have been provided will work. While it is possible that "D:\". "HP recovery partition is intact, it is more likely that it is not. The only way I think that you may be able to recover the system right now is to buy a new hard drive size and as the failed drive and "clone" of all of the old disk to the new disk. This will / may require two boxes USB 2.5 "external hard drive and a work computer to accomplish.

Once the disc has been 'cloned', place the new disc of the HP laptop and see if it boots. If it starts, immediately create HP recovery support. If it does not start, try to set the "D:\". "As HP recovery partition active by using a utility of partitioning of the road. If it starts, it must begin the process of restoration of HP and return the computer to a factory State.

If none of the above works please contact the official support HP customer in your region / country, via the Portal to Support HP in the world, to see if the HP recovery disks are available.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
