When something like you describe is reported, most often the user does not understand the layers of high level exist across all pages and updates on the page of your site. If you delete "Layer 1" you may remove the content of all pages of your site.

  • Best version of PS for Web design

Hello! I'm a budding web deisgner. What is the best version of photoshop that have the features necessary to complete Web design projects quickly and accurately?

For web design, I think that the full version of photoshop or elements will work fine. Elements will make more hand holding with assistants, etc., but her brother has more power without holding a hand. Meaning that it can take more than a few steps, but more as a profession can normally do off.

What neither can do is svg graph, which would require illustrator and/or edge animate. (Normally graphics are created in illustrator and animated on the edge)

  • CS3: Having problems creating an Action to "save for Web".

    Hi all

I am creating an Action to convert my psd. files to JPEG is suitable for the web.  I use a Mac Pro CS3 running.  My work space Adobe RGB (1998), all files start as Canon RAW CR2, are published in 16-bit and then saved as a psd.  I created an Action following an open psd. image in Photoshop:

    (1) Windows > Actions

    (2) create new Action

    (3) renamed 'save for Web' and then click on registration

    (4) image > duplicate > OK

    (5) Edition > convert to profile

    (6) changed Destination space sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1 > OK

    (7) file > save as

    (8) format > option JPEG no?  What?

Everything seemed fine until I reached the stage of Format.  I had a lot of choices, but JPEG was not one of them.  Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?  Thank you!

    Mike

They must be 8 bits. But why do you use Save as instead of "save for web"?

  • Create the table with aliases for columns

    Hello

I don't know if its possible, but how do I define aliases for columns when I create a table (in fact, a global temporary Table - TWG)? The idea is to select the column using its name or its alias, like this:

    SELECT nom_de_colonne FROM mytable

    or

    SELECT alias_de_colonne FROM MaTable

I work with Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.1.0

    Thanks in advance.

You do not define aliases when you create a table, when you choose him.

I have to say... When you use it in a SQL statement (not just select).

  • 13 "pro for Web design

    Hey guys!

I thought getting a macbook pro 13 ". I got a pretty sweet offer for one so I want to consult you if he would deal with the design work. Basically I'm a UI designer and 90% of the time that I do websites and app designs. Somethimes my files get enough big and heavy up to 500-600 MB per file, and now I use Photoshop CC. I intend to switch to sketch when I get the Mac, so I would like to know if some of you have this experience.

Here are the specs of Mac:

MacBook Pro 13 "retina mi 2014:

    2.6i5

    128 GB SSD

    Iris 1536 MB Intel

    8 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3

It is difficult to do anything within 128 GB of storage space. In my opinion, 128 GB of storage can hardly be large enough to support something more than browsing, emailing and sometimes to type a letter.

In addition, it is difficult to create and test web sites on a 13 inch screen.

My recommendation would be to get a computer 15 inches with at least 256 GB of storage. Even more storage would be preferable. 8 GB of RAM would work but 16 GB would be better. RAM cannot be improved after the purchase of the computer. Multitasking requires more RAM.

  • Create a table of values for which a condition is met

I have exactly this problem, however connected solution is no longer valid: Re: table to automatically generate values if the condition is met,

Basically I have a table (named 'Master Sheet') that has two columns, one with project names with a status ('Active' or 'pending'). I want a separate table that automatically fills the project names of the leaf of the master for which the status is 'Active '.

    For example, from this table:

    Project

    Status

    Red

    PENDING

    Orange

    ASSETS

    Yellow

    ASSETS

    Green

    ASSETS

    Blue

    PENDING

I want to automatically generate this table, which contains only values whose status is 'Active' (not 'pending' and without values null):

    Project

    Status

    Orange

    ASSETS

    Yellow

    ASSETS

    Green

    ASSETS

Please note that using the filter function does not work in this case, as I need to be able to freely add new lines to the two tables.

    Hi Kath,

Here is a pair of similar solutions.

That on background uses a writing ('ACTIVE') of the value in the formula in the master-1 table to create the index in column C.

Above who gets the value of the cell in row 1 (A1) of the table of the single column and lists him only the names of any State were brought to the project.

    Index columns can be hidden.

    Formulas:

    Master: C2 IF (B = C$ 1, ROW (), 999)

    Table 1::A3: IF (SMALL (Master: $C, LINE () −2) = MAX (Master: $C),"", INDEX (Master: $A:$ B, SMALL (Maste r: $C, ROW (−2)), COLUMN ()))

    Master - 1:C2: IF (B = "ACTIVE", ROW (), 999)

    Table 1 - 1:A2: IF (SMALL ("Master-1': C, LINE (−1) ') = MAX ('Master-1': C),' ', index (" Master-1': b, SMA LL('Master-1'::C,ROW()−1),COLUMN()))) ")")

All forms filled up to the last line of their respective columns.

Filled with formulas in column A of the table of two columns to right of column B.

Single column table must be no more than a longer column of its master table.

Double table column must be as long as his master table or less.

    Kind regards

  • 8 bits or 16 bits for web design images

    Hello

When I use the 8 bit in PsCS3 mode, I noticed a few strips when you use tools such as gradient map.

When you use the 16-bit mode, the strapping is not so remarkable, but it seems to increase the size of the file.

So should which bit mode I use to create images for the web?

    Thank you in advance,

    J

You can change somewhat in depth you want, but you have to remember that the web image file formats are supported 8bits / R, G, B channel when recording.

If you see bands in a gradient, check your color profile (sRGB, ideally), calibration of your screen and the method you use to export a web image file format. Maybe you try to save the wrong image file format.

  • What upgrade that you would recommend for Web design?

I currently use an LCD monitor from 19 "to 1280 x 1024.  The monitor still works very well and could continue to be used in my configuration.  I'm looking to upgrade my installation of the monitor to expand my real estate when you work with Adobe products.

My budget is $ 300 or less.  Search on NewEgg, I can get up to a monitor 28 "for $299.99 with free shipping.

Most of my work is in the design (GoLive, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Illustrator). Would you recommend I get a single large monitor or add a second 19 "monitor to my installation and make a double screen?

    What you buy?

What resolution do you think would be sufficient?

As you are looking at an online retailer, you should visit a big local computer store surface to see what resolution is right for you. The first impulse is to shop for the biggest you can afford (and can be powered by your video card). But you must also be careful that the dot pitch is not too dense, you have trouble reading the small print.

  • New web design - learn Dreamweaver first?

    I welcome the Dreamweaver community.

After 30 years in print design, I finally made a decision to learn a little something about web design. With this goal in mind, when I updgraded to CS6, I bought "CS6 Design and Web Premium" package. The package includes Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash Pro. But I'm a bit confused where to start.

I always buy the Adobe "Classroom in a book" series to learn the basics or new aspects of Adobe products. All three applications have equivalents of the IPC and I think I'll but the first IPC Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash Pro?

So that demand, it's the right direction? I noticed on some forums of discussion that some use Fireworks more than Dreamweaver: I want to just make sure I'm on the right track.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Clinton

Welcome to the community of DW, Clinton!

30 years - which is an experience that you have up your sleeve!

Web Design, fine, it works this way. It is in 2 parts - to start:

    • Design / layout / layout / wired / UI (two see it differently) - but the end goal is the same - to create the "design", in itself, that your site will look like
    • Development / slicing / Compositing / CSSing / PSD - CSS (again, different references) - make the "design", you did in an application such as Photoshop or Fireworks to be "web-friendly" - in other words, making .html and .css files that are the "basics" for a Web site

Most web developers (including me) use Photoshop to create cuts of design (PSD files) we send back a million times the customer to get their approval. Then "decide" elements such as backgrounds, boxes, etc... Then open Dreamweaver, write the tag ""-which is the 'what' you want to display on your website (content, tables, boxes, widgets, snippets, etc...). Then, 'style' using 'CSS' Web site - for the match at the "PSD" that the customer had approved.

That's it: I don't know if I could have put it more!

CSS - Cascading Style sheet - is a piece of code that tells browsers how your website should be displayed. Height, spacing, margins, width, color, type of display, etc... With the birth of CSS - 3, things are even easier. A few key elements that can make the CSS-3 are lets say, Gradients, rounded edges, etc... (for which, you had to use a real .png or .jpg image in CSS - 2). Now, CSS - 3 can give you the same exact effect with no use of an image.

HTML - now that HTML5 quickly supplanted the old web standards, you have decided to start your 'web journey' at the right time, I would say. HTML5 has infinite possibilities of creation 'sensitive' Webdesign - reactive, which means Monotype, multi-devices - for desktop computers, Tablet & mobile phones.

With all that said, that Dreamweaver CS6 has some great tools for HTML5 standards like 'fluid Grid Layout"- with which you create 1 design, code 3 different documents CSS and BAM - your website will be optimized for all devices 3.

Fireworks - certainly usable for web design. CS6 Fireworks has also some great tools such as 'Generator of CSS' gives you the CSS code for an item of the chosen design - in other words, the design in Fireworks, go over it, fireworks will generate the CSS code for you.

jQuery - you should watch this - a few great 'plugins' that you can use in your website design / development. Now that 'Flash' is a kind of death (modern Pocket PCs do not support Flash), jQuery is your friend. Best part is completely open source.

The next step - dynamic Web sites - as its name suggests, you can get in the construction of more "interactive" sites - such as a shopping cart, etc... then once you get a good shot of some basic CSS HTML &. And if you decide to use jQuery, you will get also a script - what is essential to build interactive websites as you progress.

You can take a look at this video on Youtube. I know that there not too many views. But I personally think it's a good place to start with Fireworks - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrJmyYfNu1M

This maybe go a little above your head right now - since you are a beginner to the top. But, feel free to ask questions as and when you have one, and we will be happy to help you! The world needs more of web designers / developers after all!

    All the best.
