creating exe files

I am creating an application to install on any PC (with without labview). When you build the application I get following errors: Please help... Error 8 is is produced to copy in>>>>>>> Possible reason (s): LabVIEW: the file permission error. You do not have the correct permissions for the file. = OR-488 hardware error: detected DMA. C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\Shared\LabVIEW Run-Time\8.6\errors\English\SPT-errors.txt

Hi mo786,

Hello and I hope that your well today. Thanks for the post.

First of all, this seems more a matter of forum LabVIEW then a question of data acquisition - but I'm happy to support you here all the same.

This error message has many causes, so I'll try to summarize my suggestions below,

1. check the Permissions of the files:

a. make sure you logged on as administrator

b. try to save build files on your user data (Desktop) rather that say Program Files - which could be READ only.

2 screws must be in the same version of LabVIEW:

a. it tends to occur more when users have upgraded from a previous version of LabVIEW.

b. to try from retify I would save all the screws manually, including all your call dynamically.  (This is known as the compilation of mass),

c. you can try to repair LabVIEW by going to control panel > Add/Remove Programs > OR > LabVIEW 8.6 > repair.

3 deselect "copy error code files.

a. This should remove the error because the path has to do with the file errors.txt.

b. follow the below knowledge base article on how to remove this option,

Error 8 with Application Builder when I create an executable in LabVIEW 8.5/8.5.1

4. try to build a new project and saving it in a different directory.

5. Similarly trying to build a simple project with the simple error in it - Manager is he still wrong?

Please try to apply these tips and let me know how you go,

I hope this helps.

  • By using Labview 7.1 created EXE in Windows Mobile 6.0

Can I use my edition of the profeesion of 7.1 to create EXE files to run on Windows Mobile 6.0?  I created EXE files and then run directly on touch screen XP embedded without special Touchscreen Mobule.  I was wondering if this is possible under Windows Mobile 6.0?

This does not work for various reasons. First XP Embedded is just XP with more control on which modules to install and what not. Second reason, it also only works on Intel/AMD x 86 processors. So if you create an executable in LabVIEW for Windows, it will run under XP embedded too, provided that you do not access system services that have not been installed on your XP embedded system.

Laptop (or as it was earlier called Windows CE) is built in the same way as the Windows API but is not the same. Applications are only (with many limits) source compatible between laptop and normal Windows, but absolutely not binary compatible. Also all Mobile PC systems running on a RISC CPU as the ARM architecture. For these processors has compiled executable for the x 86 CPU architecture is simply a waste of bytes no meaning whatsoever.

As says altenbach that LabVIEW PDA module to create executable files for Mobile PC systems. But beware, portable PC systems are not at all comparable to desktop systems. The performance of your hardware is magnitudes less, Windows CE (laptop) API is much narrower than on the Windows desktop and PDA module also for this reason has its own limitations. Do not expect a sign before be worn flawlessly to your PDA. There is much less control to choose and also the limited screen real estate is another severe limitation on applications of port Office seamlessly to a PDA.

  • create the executable (*.exe) file

I could create and executable file (*.exe), but it does not all libraries (*.dll) necessary, IE NIVIsSVc.dll, imaq1349.dll... So I was wondering if someone could guide me to create an executable file with all the necessary libraries to run on a different machine? I have LabView 8.2.1 and XP OS. My *.exe file is to capture an image of the camera (FirWire 1394) and save it in a file on the hard drive.

    Thank you

Unfortunatley LabVIEW get where the drivers have been installed since. This is to ensure that the same versions of the driver are in LabVIEW and the installation program that you created. The best way to work around this problem in your situation is to reinstall the drivers from your hard drive. You can download the drivers on our website linked below. In the future if you plan to create many installers, copy the contents of the CD driver on your hard drive and install from there. I made a suggestion of product in the past, to make it an easier process. If you want that this so, please visit our product suggestion Center below the link.

  • Create an .exe file

Hi guys. I want to turn my VI in an .exe file that I want to run it on another pc. How can I do? I have to install labview also on the other pc?

    Thank you

You will need the length of LabVIEW engine (RTE) that corresponds to the version used to create the .exe, i.e. 2012 if created with 2012, 2013, if 2013. Unless you need a specific feature 64 bit I also suggest creating in 32 bits. A 32-bit .exe, with 32-bit appropriate LabVIEW RTE, will run on a 32-bit or 64-bit machine, was created in 64-bit only runs on 64-bit computers.

As noted in previous posts, unless the version of LabVIEW Development package at the request of the manufacturer (professional development for example) would need you the add-on Application Builder.

  • DAQBase or mx to create Labview 8.0 exe files

I fight to create an EXE file using the Labview 8.0 software and a USB 6008 module. Is this possible? I want to distribute the EXE file to others running just the runtime Labview 8.0.

    Thank you

Ok... I wish that this was documented somewhere!

When you use the USB-6008... LabVIEW 8.0... and the creation of distribution EXE files:

If your running Windows XP, then the old version of NiDaqmx 8. XX works very well, however does not allow NiDaQmx assistant in one of the VI

Older versions of NiDaqmx don't work with Windows 7 or 8... Everything install perfect... the driver install... but the 6008 never appears in the list of devices.

Solution: even if the documentation says that new versions of NiDaqmx do not work with Labview 8.0 they work very well. You don't have to install the runtime of 8.0 and then no problem.

I spent countless hours to find all this... Once you install the wrong version of NiDaqmx... you must uninstall completely all the components for the new version to install correctly.

I hope this helps someone else to throw the computer out the window like I almost did!

  • Create exe with some vi files

    I'm using LabVIEW 2010

I'm trying to build a "" in an exe file, this to dynamically call two vi "1(vi)" and "". I put between "always included" before generating the exe file. But after you have created the exe "1(vi)" and "" do not work.

Just to show what said Norbert.  You should get used to use relative paths.  They will save you a lot of headaches down the road, especially if you call dynamically screws inside exe files.

  • creating a project aggregator using .exe files

Is this possible?  When I try to download .exe files in aggregator, the files do not appear in the folder.  I checked the files are there with windows Explorer.

Is it possible to create projects that range from a .exe module to another module of .exe?

    Answer is YES...

Aggregator requires SWF files, not EXE.

  • CS6: AIR (runtime embedded) creates a large number of files instead of an exe file

I want to pack all the necessary sources for my application into an exe file (windows system 7).

In Flash Professional CS6 I chose: file-> Public settings

    Target: AIR 3.4 for desktop

Parameters of the AIR: export in the form: Application with the runtime shipped

    Window style: Chrome system

    Render mode: Auto

Profiles of office / Extended Desktop

Then I pressed on publish. I got the message "Application with the embedded runtime has been created.

What I want: a single exe file without dependency on other files/directories

What I got is a structure of directories like this:

    Untitled -

    Adobe AIR

    Untitled - 1.exe

    Untitled - 1.swf

In this directory, my Untitled - 1.exe starts without problems.

But if I copy the exe file (and ONLY the exe file) to another directory

and try to run it I get the message of AIR was not found.

So my assumption was right that not all necessary files were packed.

How can I present all the necessary files/directories in an exe?

This is a limitation of - windows operating system. The .app embedded on Win application package will appear in the directory of the file.

    Untitled -

    Adobe AIR

    Untitled - 1.exe

    Untitled - 1.swf

If you look, Adobe AIR contains the AIR runtime required to run the .exe application. Therefore, you must copy all the contents of the folder on the victory.

  • Running a .exe file that is created from the Captivate project

I am using Captivate 4. When I create a .exe of my captivate project file and run it to say slide 3, the next time I open the .exe - it connects the Traghetti where I left off (slide 3 in this case).

Is there a way to make the project start from the beginning, whenever I run the .exe file?

  • All of my records changed in the files system and .exe files are created with the names of these folders.

Is it due to malware? How to convert these files to their form of moose?

    Hi Raffey Hassan,

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You have security software installed on your computer?

Changed file .exe file names, the reason might be that the computer is infected from virus or malware.

I also suggest that you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: While hard disk analysis if bad sectors are found when scanning try to repair this area, all available on which data can be lost.

Let us know if that helps.

  • When opening a file that I have to choose what program created to run and some files is read only this should not be and wont open, usually of .exe files

This started after I tried to remove the gel frog via the control panel. After that this withdrawal, or if he asked me to choose a program to run a file I tried and I hit adobe and adobe is now the icon like any and will not open most of the files because it does not support, I can not open almost nothing except the browser explore. I was able to get my malwarebytes to come and showed some virus that I removed, but now I don't know how to solve other problems

Looks like your Windows file associations have to dispose. This means that XP doesn't know what to do with files by looking at the file extension (.exe for executables)., .doc for MS documents, etc.  When you run Internet Explorer, it's a little different, that's why IE usually still works fine...

If you don't have it you, something done for you - most likely malware.

Go to this site WWW by Doug Knox:

On the left, click on the Win XP fixes, file Association fixed and read the instructions at the top of the page.

Download the EXE File Association Fix on your desktop, unzip the file and apply it by following the instructions at the top of the page, then to restart and test.

Run the following scans for malware, and then fix any problems:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

  • Import the virtual machine created with .exe files

I'm new in the world of the virtual machines, and I'm sorry if I'm going to say something stupid.

I take a .net class and the teacher has a virtual machine (windows XP with software) ready to pose with 4 .exe files.

I installed VMfusion but now I have no idea how / if I can import the teacher VM fusion.

Is this possible? If this is not the case, what can I do else?

    Thank you very much

Find a Windows PC and run the exe files to extract the virtual machine, precompiled.  Just copy the folder of the entire virtual machine on your Mac, and then open/run the virtual machine using the merger.  VMware virtual machines are portable between products and host operating system - there should be no reason to "convert" or "import".
