Creation of recovery disks on a Satellite Pro L300 running XP pro

Hello

you want to create a recovery disc for my Satellite Pro L300. Operating manual provides instructions for Vista but the machine comes with XP Pro.

Can anyone help?

Can you please send the exact model number? I just want to check the specification.

Anyway, as far as I know this model was supplied with preinstalled VISTA 32 bit BUSINESS and WXP recovery DVD. You always have this DVD?

I m not 100% sure, but I think that WXP had no option for recovery disk creator. The whole story started with Vista.

    Hello

As far as I know older Toshiba laptops have been delivered with the Toshiba Recovery CD and the CD tools & utilities.
Due to the size of the image large image was installed on 2 s recovery CD
All CD s are marked and it should be easy to recognize the good CD!

It seems that you've lost the first game of the s recovery CD and that is why I would recommend contacting the Toshiba authorized service partner in your country and order the first recovery CD!
It s should not be expensive ;)

  • Creation of recovery disks - problems

    Hi all

I wonder if anyone can help me?

I recently bought a used HP Pavilion DV6 (DV6-2110ea - product number: VY095EA) laptop and I have problems with the recovery system.

When I bought it, I managed to recover the system to set up the laptop back to settings by default, and as an afterthought, I tried using the recovery software to see if I could create a set of disks.

I ran the program expects to be told that the records had been created, but the software came with the message that he has split the partition to create the DVD.

After a while, he came with a message saying that the disc 2 of 4 was created and asked for the next DVD.

It seems that the creation of recovery disks never finished original owner and I was wondering if there was a way to start the process so I could successfully create disks.

Any help you guys could give would be extremely useful.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re the above:

I have authorized the creation of recovery software complete two final discs that then created file "hpdrcu.prc" in both the location suggested above.

I deleted the and represented software and it has allowed me to create a complete set of discs.

Whether if they work, it is another matter altogether, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it (again - there's always Linux)

    Thanks anyway.

  • Satellite A500 - problems with the creation of recovery disks

    Hello
I bought a Satellite A500 yesterday and now I'm trying to create the recovery discs before anything else.
However, towards the end of the 1st DVD I get an error message saying "Faile dto open the next file. e:\Boot\BCD (0201123-F1-00000000 error code)"and then when I click 'OK', the DVD is ejected giving a message"unable to create recovery 1' media. Physical examination, I noticed that the DVD is written almost entirely.

Any advise on this? In addition, in the interface, it shows a USB option and says to insert a USB media with more than 7 GB of free. That I can use it to create the recovery disk? If Yes, when I reinstall windows 7, this allows as a bootable drive?

Greately appreciate any help on this matter. If it is defective, I want to return as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Thank you
    Mercier.

As far as I know, that you can not use external device for recovery, it is therefore very important create recovery DVDs.

Try to create the recovery disk using only DVD-R media. Use high quality media like TDK or Verbatim.
Last month, I've created on the Satellite A500-157 recovery discs and everything went well.

  • Creation of recovery disks without the ability to boot - Satellite L300

    Hello!

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L300-139 (Vista, 160GG, 2 GB of memory).

Hard drive has been damaged (when Vista starts, the system won't start at all, and each time only a white screen with the mouse arrow is shown--> tried all the choice + start PE etc but there is no access to the Recovery Console) and it doesn't have the ability to run the CHKDSK command to resolve this problem.

No recovery disk was created when the computer was new.

I removed the hard drive laptop and plugged into my desktop computer, but 2 partitions on 3 were damaged, and I managed to recover data, including:

    c:\Program Toshiba
    d:\HDDRecovery

Data recovery was made using www.sysresccd.org and external USB hard drive.

I copied all the data on the USB drive and run program TRORDCLauncher (run as administrator). He didn't he removes my vista DVD player and it fails with the error (rough translation):
"Another process is using the drive or there is no available disks. Check the status of the drive. [OK] »

It seems that the recovery of the Images have been created with Windows PE 2.0 tools (Imagex), but that the data is spread around the files I was able to manually create the recovery disks.

Ideas and knowledge how to create diskettes of recovery with this data, what I have or what I need to order the DVD and wait a few weeks before sunrise to new system?

    Thank you!

    -L

    PS.
If anyone knows a nice solution for Microsoft CHKDSK running to my computer, I would be happy! Tried: PE starts (versions of Vista and xp) + all recovery methods that were available in my computer... a Simple boot with sata support and run CHKDSK ISO image would be nice!

Sorry but there is no chance that you can create recovery DVDs. Recovery DVDs can be created if you use creator only Toshiba Recovery tool and unfortunately there is no way to do it.

Using F8 HARD drive recovery procedure can work only if the HARD drive configuration is not modified (new operating system installed), the HARD drive recovery folder must be placed on the second partition.
So with short words, you can do this only if the laptop to factory settings. Now, you can't do anything other than the original new order DVD of recovery for this model of laptop.

If you want to do this you can order under https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

    Good bye

  • Re: How to use Recovery Expert Mode in Satellite Pro M70-220 product recovery CD

I would appreciate advice on the following points.

My Satellite Pro M70-220 (PSM75E-00D008G3), portable computer has 4 partitions created by Acronis Disk Director costume v9:

    C: OS - Win XP Pro SP3
    D: programs
    E: data & downloads
    F: backups

After you start the laptop in Win XP, I inserted the recovery CD Toshiba in the DVD - RAM drive
and sailed to the BMP file, R:\G_INST\BMP, where I found the file "menu.bmp", which gives 2 recovery
    Options:

    * 1. Retrieve entire hard drive *.
Caveat. All data stored o your computer will be lost.
Preinstalled software factory will be installed.

    * 2. Recovery expert Mode WARNING: *.
This is for PC experts only.
Preinstalled software factory can be installed on an existing partition.

My questions are linked using the "Recovery Expert" Mode:
-I'll be able to use the "recovery of the Expert Mode' the recovery CD to reinstall Win XP Pro (pre-installed software factory) on my C: partition, while affecting only not partitions D, E & F?
-I'll be able to format the C: partition by using the "Expert recovery" Mode, without formatting of other partitions?
-What is the exact procedure of "Expert Recovery Mode"?
-where can I find more information on the procedure of "Expert Recovery Mode"?

    Thank you

    > I'll be able to use the "recovery of the Expert Mode' the recovery CD to reinstall Win XP Pro (pre-installed software factory) on my C: partition, while affecting only not partitions D, E & F

Yes, this should be possible. Using the Expert Mode of recovery, you should get the ghost window where you can select the partition where the OS is to be installed. In this case only that partition would be formatted.

    > will it be possible to format the C: partition by using the "Expert recovery" Mode, without formatting of other partitions?

Yes, theoretically it should be possible.

    > what is the exact procedure of "Expert Mode of recovery"?
As I mentioned above, this mode allows you to restore the operating system on a partition of some and only this partition will be formatted.

    > where can I find more information on the procedure of "Expert Mode of recovery"?

The next morning, I discovered that my father has managed to use the account invited without problems, so instantly, I logged into my account to see pop ups like "flash cards stopped working" and anything associated with toshiba to crash, but I could always use internet.

I decided to do a system restore, after 2 failed attempts I finally restored my laptop to the earliest date, and everything was fine until about an hour into the laptop, it would crash like what I explained above.

Then my father got a copy of mcafee, and we were looking for viruses, at halfway of the analysis, it found 2 Trojan horses, but crashed in the middle of the overall analysis. Now, here's the real problem...

I got an operating system disk, due to the fact that I thought he was just install vista again, I formatted the hard drive to the L350 - 107 and proceeded with the installation, but I had to install second hard disk, because on the c / reader could not. After intall vista was full, I wanted to check what are the components, but the operating drive was a dell disk use and now think that it is a dell. Now the screen is stuck on a screen of 32-bit and none of the pilot are related, due to them being drivers toshiba not dell.

I tried looking for drivers and sought a downloadable operating system disk, but nothing has worked, toshiba stopped giving an operating with their laptops drive (so I heard).

Please, someone help me! AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

  • Floppy disk drives for Satellite Pro 4200 and 4300 series

I have four portable Satellite Pro - a 4340, a 4310, a 4270 and a 4280 and I have trouble getting the 4310 and 4270 to recognize a particular floppy drive. My understanding is that Mitsumi D353G FDDs were consistent with these laptops 4200 and 4300 series but I can't get the 4270 and the 4310 for «see» They will all be two however 'see' an FDD alternative I - a Pansonic JU-226A202FC, but I only have one of them and two laptops needing a floppy drive replacement. I tried a D353G I know (from my 4280) works in the 4310 and the 4270 but nothing helped. I'm keeping an eye on for an another Pansonic JU - 226A202FC FDD on ebay but no luck so far. It's frustrating because I don't know a FDD D353G expected to operate in the 4270 4310 and I have two spare ones that I wanted to use. I looked in TSETUP.exe and you can see no settings that I can change to make these laptops see floppy D353G so any help or insight greatly appreciated readers. Someone there a 4270 a 4310 runs successfully a floppy D353G drive or is this a quirk and these two particular models were made only to work with a Pansonic JU-226A202FC floppy drive not D353G disk drives? Clues?

    Hello

Unfortunately, I am not a technician but I guess that there is clearly a problem with compatibility. It is possible that the assignment of pins is different and you cannot use them. If you want to have a precise explanation, you should contact technicians. I'm sure they have diagrams of the motherboard and can give you a good explanation and Tips how to handle this problem.

    Good luck!

  • Pavillion g7 nitebook: creation of recovery disks

Just bought a refurbished laptop (new never been used) that comes with windows 8. I want to spend to 8.1 and then windows 10. My problem is that it's said I can only create a recovery disk once. If I create a recovery disc now until I have the upgrade (recommended) I will be able to create a disc of recovery once I have install windows 10? Windows 10 is what I intend to use to have a recovery disk which would be the most important, but I'm afraid that if I don't do a disc now and experience trouble while I am upgrading I'll be screwed. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

HP recovery discs is a completely separate process that the creation of a collection of 10 Windows. You cannot use HP Recovery Manager to create a recovery media for any operating system other than the original.

You can download and create the Windows 10 for free from Microsoft installation media.

  • Creation of recovery disks, (new)

    Hello

I own a Compaq Presario CQ56 Notebook running Windows 7 64 bit I have owned for less than 1 year.

Recently, I went into the Recovery Manager and ran the creation of recovery media to create backup diskettes.  She needed to complete 4 discs.  I bought new DVD-R discs.  The first drive was a success.  When I was asked to put in the next disc has not then I tried 4 times and each time it failed.  It's a long process, so I gave up for the day.

A few weeks later I tried again.  The problem that I ran was this recovery media creation began where he left off and began to drive 2.  I had no idea he would do that and unfortunately I threw the 1st disk successfully a few weeks earlier.  I was able to create the last 3 discs but now I don't have the 1st disk... grrrr.

My question is, is it possible that I can fix this and all 4 disks?

    Thank you very much

    Brenda

    Hello Brenda,.

Sorry for your trouble create recovery disks, because you are still under warranty - please call the 1,800 HP Invent and request HP Recovery media and it should be free of charge.
