cRIO CPU % Total load drift up to...

My project has a cRIO 9074 in hybrid mode (an analog card is under the FPGA target, all others are the analytical engine).

The cRIO is a central control to 3 modbus slaves (palette function ModbusTCP block [i.e. not the server of e/s]). And is a 1 system SCADA via Ethernet/IP slave.

One of the slaves is a HMI XP (not the product NOR) which is the DB SQL base data record. How to get the plot shown. Weather I have deploy dynamically or "run as a startup" in the space of 4 hours, rails and the CPU % total load creeps upward. Finally, the HMI loses comms with the cRIO and stops the recording of data.

I have a feeling that the culprit is the component call loops of the total cpu load - but to confirm, I'll need to add it to the Modbus data to be connected.

The application has many parallel loops timed and non-timed, some for the comms ModbusTCP, others for any other logical - including a state machine in line waiting. For four hours, the state machine is static - i.e. no transition and the size of the data, as well as the frequency polled ModbusTCP and Ethernet/IP data is also static. I do it without programmatic changes to data between the cRIO and the outside world.

In addition, no recording on the disc of cRIO. On an error, I can post a message on the console. (I'll check on that).

If this was your problem, how would you debug?

by EITHER:

I used the System Profiler tool snapshot schedule about every hour. Smoking gun pointing to 2 live. They took more in addition to performing, means that only he excecuton totalled 6.5ms (immediately after deployment) and 24.4 ms after about 4 hours - and it drifted upward as the "worst offender" according to capture instant profler. In this vi I was using the function "get the queue" - without a queue of output associated.

I wired the reference of the queue for these screws. And up to 3 hours and my load CPU % is now in place.

    Hello!

I use a cRIO 9074 and LabVIEW 2012.  The cRIO is in scan at 1 kHz mode.  I have a variable motor shared, an ftp server and a web server running on the cRIO.  This is not a complete list of the software 'embedded' running on the cRIO.  I don't have much time on synchronization.

Without request of the user currently running on the cRIO, System Manager distributed reports 58% CPU use.  When I add my program, taken from the CPU to 100% usage and the cRIO 'freezes' for a few seconds from time to time.  I am convinced that this situation is not acceptable.  I suspect that a "Slacker" 58% CPU utilization should be provided.

How can I determine what "embedded" software takes care of the CPU so much?

Followed immediately the question, can I do to reduce the use of CPU of the software "integrated"?

    Thank you

One thing to be careful is façade execution mode (when you run your code RT with a front panel).  I had really high CPU usage, because I had a few indicators in table on the front panel.  Once I built it to exe, that it went from 100% to 30%.  You can try to build exe, then using Manager of distributed systems to monitor the CPU usage.  Editor of State system should be installed to do this.

  • Modbus IO server causes cRIO CPU to go to 100%

I have 2 e / s Modbus server set up on my cRIO-9022 system. I use Modbus ethernet to communicate. Each server is intended for a different IP address for the Modbus device to what he's talking about. Modbus devices are configured with these IP addresses.

In normal operation, the CPU of the cRIO is about 10% use. However, I am trying to build in the correction of the mistakes of my VI. The question I have, is that when one of the modbus devices is dissconnected, the CPU usage gets locked at 100%. I guess that's because the IO server is trying to reestablish the connection and failing.

What would be the why of the handeling this case to prevent hanging on 100% CPU?

This is unexpected behavior that appears also when any other server I/O trying to settle the slave as well and I filed a request for Corrective Action with R & D to help resolve the issue in a future version of LabVIEW. A potential solution for those who have the DSC module is programmatically toggle the server I/O with the engine control features available in the palette of DSC.

  • Igfxupdate.exe forces the cpu to load 100%

Recently, my cpu load @ full, when open the Task Manager it remains cool. I couldn't find IGFXupdate.exe job manager. When deleting the file in the windows folder, it activates by itself once the Task Manager is closed. Please someone find a solution to my problem... Even google is looking for the answer...

    Thank you

Hi, after several hours of attempts, I think I finally found the culprit:
most likely a Trojan Generic 792778 of KDV, it claims to be the windows service "Search Indexer" and it creates the executable file false: 'igfxupdate.exe' who tries to connect to the internet and increases cpu load all the time until you open the Task Manager to hide...
So I solved the problem like this:
in the windows services management console, I disabled the above fake windows service (he was in automatic start mode) and after I deleted the igfxupdate.exe file in the windows system32 folder...
I restarted the pc and I deleted the same service with the command: "sc delete SearchIndexer '...
problem solved! CPU back to the normal level, no more connections and no more files igfxupdate autour...
in any case, for more security, it is best to also do a full scan with a good antivirus/malware software

  • High CPU when loading a new battery

I have Thinkpad Edge 14 "and recently bought a new, original Lenovo battery 9-cell.
I used to have before 6-cell battery. The problem with the new, is that if she is in charge of the CPU goes up at very high levels, up to 80-90%, if the computer is very slow.
Any suggestions how to fix it?
    Thank you.
    Marek

    Hi Adam,.

What happened in the meantime over the past two days, is that I was load and charge the battery for 3 - 4 times and it seems it's OK now. As I type now the battery is charging and the CPU is about 30 to 40%, which is reasonable.

    Hope it stays like that.

Thanks for your attention and your help.

  • Performance regression: after update of FireFox 18 permanent CPU high load

After the update, FireFox has started to eat a whole CPU on my laptop permanently 2 strands. My usage model (in regards to browsed sites and/or active plugins) has not changed, but I must admit that I am a big user of plugins.

I suspect the problem may be the result of a performance has changed behavior of a plugin as a result of the new engine FF18 JS, but how can I easily track this problem down. Is C possible to inspect the performance data collected (active) Firefox?

  • connection intermittent cRIO (with MAX, etc.)

Our cRIO connects to our fine PC when it is initialized at first - and you can view it fine in MAX, Manager of distributed system and its web interface. But after all 3-5 minutes it always loses connection. It remains disconnected, and only restart the cRIO restores the connection but only for another 3-5 minutes. Only MAX restart does not help. We can ping the cRIO ok when 'disconnected' - which, to me, implies that it is a problem of higher level software.

We had this particular cRIO work fine before.

Thanks for your suggestions... While not in a rush to do this, I really want to understand why the connection is intermittent

    Here are some details:

    • MAX version 5.0.0f1
    • LV2011 DS2
    • cRIO is a 9022 (no screws running on it to the commissioning, CPU minimum load - idle = 97%)
    • computer development is a Vista Home Premium 32 bit
    • connected together using the brand-new Cat5E cable
    • TCP/IP settings on the laptop - Static IP, IP 192.168.2.4 address, mask 255.255.255.0
    • TCP/IP settings on cRIO - Static IP, the IP 192.168.2.1, mask 255.255.255.0 (gateway and DNS are blank or 0.0.0.0)
    • cRIO set to use for the link speed autonegotiation (no option to change this) and detection of packets = "interrupt".
    • PC value link autonegotiation speed, but has no effect on the problem, if it is set on a fixed, low speed for example. Half-Duplex 10 Mbps
    • PC Firewall is configured to allow the port 3580, and actually disable the firewall altogether change the problem

Had the chance to try again with my intermittent connection to cRIO, and here's what I found:

    • Connection through a switch, rather than directly with crossover cable - made no difference, still kept disconnecting after 3-4 minutes
    • With no other network on my laptop other than the LAN - no difference development
    • cRIO with APP No. dip switch select IT - no difference
    • cRIO with game of dip-switch SAFE MODE - this time it is remained connected, but this mode is not very useful as a solution

Then I was reinstalling the software cRIO as suggested - it did not complete the first time, but second attempt was beautiful and connection is now very stable (and has not abandoned in the last 30 minutes).

Here are the instructions to reinstall (just in case useful for others):

    1. In the measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX), access remote systems | cRIO | Software
    2. Click on the "Add/Remove software", and an installation wizard will appear
    3. With currently installed version of the selected software - "then click to reinstall the software currently installed.
    4. Follow the rest of the instructions, and it should take about 4-5 minutes

    Thanks for your help

  • Slow to load AE

When you attempt to start Ae CC 2015.3 it loads in the background and does not become active for about 5 minutes.

Once it starts there is no significant problem. An Ae running consumes only about 3% of the memory.

The total amount of memory used by all processes (including Ae) is 11%.  The total load on the CPU (including Ae) is about 10%.

The use of the SSD is minimal.

After leaving a successful EI session and restart there is no problem.

Operating system is MS10 64-bit version.

We don't honestly know. Your message is too generic to understand it all and well, it almost certainly has nothing to do with EI. This is quite probably a loop of crash driver, a maissing device driver, or a twisted framework on your system. Check your system logs.

  • Only about 50% CPU cycles available?

    Hello!

    Material: SuperMicro A1SRM-2758F (8x2.4Ghz CPU - without hyper-threading), 32 GB of RAM

    Hypervisor: ESXi - 5.5 build 2068190

I tried to create the max CPU load on the system ("' cat/dev/urandom >/dev/null"-started 10 times in parallel both in the virtual machine and on the ESXi host yourself ").

According to the specifications of the material, I should have 8x2.4Ghz = 19.2 Ghz available.

    I have:

Configuration-> hardware-> power management-> policy Active: High Performance

    Configuration-> software-> system resources-> resources-> CPU reservation system: 240 Mhz (19.20 0 Ghz, 24 Ghz = 18,96 Ghz for VMS)

So! How is it that only 16.2 Ghz is available for virtual machines (in "Allocation of resources-> CPU-> total capacity)

And on the 'summary' page use CPU tops out at 11.2 Ghz?

Why only can I load my CPU at half of capacity?

    Best regards

    Hello people!

By pressing 'p' in esxtop made me understand that I had a bad configuration of the BIOS. Now 8 timescat /dev/zero > /dev/null &' on the ESXi host will result in 19199Mhz used which is 1Mhz from max!

    Phey!

    Sorry for 'craying wolf'!

PS: at least I got my knowledge of the States C or P UC refreshed! :-)

  • EliteBook 8560w: battery slows down CPU

    Hello

My 8560w Elitebook has been extremely slow operation. After trying many different things, including getting a new HARD drive and install a new version of Windows 7 on it, without solving the problem. I finally found the source of the problem to be associated with. If I run the computer with the battery inserted, as now 94% complete, with the AC/DC adapter not plugged, the CPU is loaded at 50-100%. If I insert the AC/DC adapter, there is no change. If I can get the ut of the battery, on the fly, CPU load instantly falls to 2-3%. If I re - insert the battery, almost instantly reached 50-100% CPU load.

Searching the Internet, I find that I'm not the only one to see this problem on a HP laptop.

I ran the computer for a long time without the battery without the problem again, and it's very easy to recreate as explained above, + other reports similar questions, so I'm very certain about the problem as described.

What exactly is causing the problem, and why it loads CPU?
A battery replacement will not solve the problem, or is it related to internal hardware? (It is clearly a HW problem as a completely new and fresh win7 on a new HARD drive installation did not help)

    Thank you

    Thomas Nilsson

Today I received the new battery. Inserted on the fly and he showed plenty of 84%. The computer just don't continued to run normally, no slowdown as down with the original battery. So, I pulled out adapter, and the computer just don't continued to run normally, no sloing downwards. It worked like this for a while now without any problems.

Conclusion. The battery is somehow responsible, even if the computer reports no problems with her and she is almost fully charged.

  • Why my CRIO crash when you open a remote connection of Panel?

I have problems with remote panels with two different applications on two different CRIOs (both 9012 controller, 9112 chassis)

    1. I have a VI running in startup and initially I open a web browser linked to the web page for this application. With the operation of the application, I checked about 30% use CPU CRIO and use approximately 85% of the memory.

    2. If I close the browser, wait a few seconds, and then reopen the browser, the façade appears but the CRIO crashes before gains control on the front of the VI.  At that time, CRIO CPU rises to 80-90%, and it crashes; my user LED flashes (that I'm runnng in a timed loop for inidication that runs the application), and I can't control the VI.  The Ethernet LED on the CRIO connection are still active and I ping the device.  Occasionally, I experience an automatic restart of the CRIO.

I have the disks formatted and reinstalled the latest drivers (RIO 3.1.1), and I checked the system to end if TCP/IP does not parameter is unchecked in CRIO system settings, but still have problems.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Dan

If you use the property node "remote panel: connections to customers" to determine if someone is connected to the application of the RT, that might be the problem. There is a bug with this feature. It presents the problem of crash in 8.5.1, 8.6.1 I think. I don't know if it was solved in LV 2009.

  • cRIO shared after the restart Variable

I use share Variables to configure a cRIO-9074 with some Boolean values, doubles and integers (ints), but when the cRIO reboot due to a power failure or any other reason, all shared variables must be redefined (I use another VI to set the configurations for each cRIO using shared Variables).

The box using DSC Toolkit I can put an initial value for each variable, but this does not solve my problem, since I have several cRIO running the same software, but using different configurations.

What I would like to change the k value for each shared Variable based on the last set value, so each time a cRIO reboot, it loads the last values for each shared Variable.

    Hello Quintino,

Perhaps you could store your data in a file available on the network and regularly update values (seconds or less, depending on your application). Then, when your cRIO begins, just initialize your variables shared with the contents of the file.

    Kind regards

  • Pavilion 423.teleglobe uk replacing the cpu fan

Hi, first post so hope gives enough information.

The CPU fan above radiator has a missing Blade (no idea what happened and not in the case!).  The computer has been used very slow for a few months and this may have a role to play.  I formatted and replaced Windows XP a few times and always very slow.

I tried to get a replacement without success and I was wondering if anyone can help on where to get a new?

    Thanks in advance

    Thanks again.

Hello livingstonc, I'd be a bit wary of this model, because it has only 2 000 rpm and speed to other Coolermaster is 2 500 rpm. This may not provide enough air cooling of the CPU under load.

  • H.265 GPU/CPU

I visited a project of 2 h H.265 and I see my CPU pinned, where - as H.264 is not (and I know that it was taking advantage of the GPU).

    I have a Quadro 4000 and GeForce GTX 650.

Is it likely that my GPU and CPU are loaded? (Yes, active CUDA and I'm sure uses GPU with H.264.)

I'd be curious for a State of the union about the H.265 organization... is he recommended material for compression? Or any compatible CUDA H.264 hardware works too, it is to use both CPU and GPU?

When I have Encoder H.264 uses my GPU. It's what made CUDA is for.

This is not correct.  Some aspects of a sequence can be processed on the GPU - effects, graduation, interpolation of the image, etc.-, but never the actual coding.
