cRIO PN - Profinet IO

Hi, I got to post here about my problem with cRIO comsoft PN.

How this card to power? In the manual it says to put in the first slot of the chassis crio since it uses 1.7W power. Can I wire in power to the card via the power connector on the front of the card, if I put it in the first place?

Is it possible to move this map between slots 2-4 so im using the power connector on the front of the card? Essentially, im confused about how this card gets power and its requirements to obtain said power.

Thank you very much

Adam

Hi adam,.

The PROFINET module draws more power than what can be provided by cRIO backplane and therefore requires the external power supply.  Then to discover and use the module, it must be powered externally.  The mention of location 1 relates to the fact that the module is designed to be used only in Slot 1.

    Hello

Anyone know if the c-Series of Profinet slave module will work on the cDAQ programmers (RTOS)?  It is explicitly listed as compatible with the cRIO, but I can't find evidence that it will work on the cDAQ controllers.

    Thank you

    Hi Wes,

The PROFINET cRIO module requires the use of LabVIEW FPGA.  For this reason, it is not compatible with the cDAQ chassis without worrying if they are running an operating system in real time.

  • I can measure the speed of the NI 9401 fan & cRIO 9075 under Scan Interface?

    Hello

I am currently using OR 9401 & cRIO 9075 to develop a project, which is to control the CPU fans.

Since I have to communicate with other instruments by serial port, while I have a NI 9870 module to implement the instrument control.

I finished the part of control instrument under scan mode and would like to add the function of the fan speed reading.

Now, I wonder if there is a problem when I choose the Scan Interface to deverlop the program.

I found the following tutorial, he uses the FPGA interface to impement the acquisition of control and PWM frequency.

    http://www.NI.com/white-paper/3230/en/

So if the function of the fan control only developed under an FPGA interface, I have to rewrite the control instrument part, seems to be a bit complicated...

You can use the hybrid mode.

  • cRIO is unable to enter active mode, because of the ethercat slave

I have a (CS27 of HBM) ethercat slave connected to a cRIO 9068. If I right click on the device HBM under the EthercatMaster and go to 'Device status online' I put first the State of the HBM "Operational Pre", "Operational security" and then "operational." The CX27 indicates the operational stae with a LED.

But when I try to put the cRIO in "active" Mode I get the error message:

-The analytical engine NOR could not be changed to active mode, because one or several devices to find could not access the operational mode.

    The problem is finally solved.

The problem has been layout of different synchronization between the HBM and cRIO (801 vs 802) Manager.

Thanks to HBM to provide a firmware update to take in charge the provision used by OR!

  • Connection cRio 9074 second port ethernet to another device via VISA

I'm trying to connect a DAQ Yokogawa system to a cRio 9074 via the second ethernet port. I activated the second ethernet port of the cRio with a static IP address on the same subnet as the data acquisition system. I installed the driver NI-VISA and NOR-SERIAL on the cRio. I can compile the code on the cRio and I'm sure that the code works when I connect to the acquisition of data to a PC. I get an error on the open VISA VI.

Am I missing something or is it not possible to connect the second ethernet port on the cRio in this way?

    Thank you

Thank you for your response. I found the same information that you provide, but decided to give it a try.

A few minutes ago, I was able to perform communication between the cRio 2nd access Ethernet DAQ Yokogawa. I managed to do it using the VISA controls. To communicate with the host PC, I get the information of the DAQ with the cRIO as described above and then use shared variables to publish data on the network connected through the first ethernet port.

If anyone wants to reproduce it just to make sure that the two ethernet ports are configured with IP addresses on different subnets that are configured for TCP communication. If more details are to be simply send me a message.

    Kind regards!

  • Can ping cRIO but unable to connect to the MAX

I have a cRIO 9066 put in place on a local subnet. I think that all the software and drivers are correct. I have deployed my program and it works great except... When I add some optical converters of fibre in the mixture. Here is my system:

PC--> cable ethernet--> ethernet switch-->--> cRIO ethernet cable * it works fine *.

PC--> ethernet cable--> converter of fiber--> fiber--> ethernet switch (FPS)-->--> cRIO ethernet cable * unable to connect to MAX *.

    When I connect with ethernet cables all the way through, the ping time is<1ms ttl="" is="" 64.="" when="" i="" add="" the="" fiber="" converter,="" i="" can="" still="" ping="" the="" crio="" but="" ping="" time="" goes="" to="" ~250ms="" and="" ttl="" goes="" to="" 247.="" then="" max="" can't="" connect="" to="" the="" crio.="" is="" my="" connection="" speed="" too="" slow="" for="" max="" or="" the="" crio="" to="">

My converter fiber and ethernet sfp module switch are all 1000 MB/full duplex. It is run only on a 10 m fiber. I tried several fiber optic cables. I tried the sfp in several locations. My sfp and the switch are both Advantech so I guess that they are compatible with each other. At this point, I plan to buy just a card PCIe fiber for my PC, but I thought I should check first with the experts.

    Thank you

    Hello

There is a timeout OR max. The default value is 4000 Ms the reason why you are not able to detect the cRIO in NOR-MAX may be because the packages are damaged along the way. If you do not want to check this, you can always monitor the packets with WireShark with two different sets high. In this way, you can see if the packets are defined correctly or not.

    I hope this helps!

  • Can I use a USB storage in a cRIO-9064?

    Hi all

For a project I need to have more storage space on a cRIO. I'm currently looking the cRIO-9064 with USB port.

Is it possible to connect a USB mass storage device this port and use it to IO files?

PS. I am aware of the c modules that offer an sd card slot, but my budget is high enough for the latter.

PPS. If you have examples of code, you can quickly spent in your answer would be great.

    Sandra will be given.

    Thank you

Hi Freel, it is possible with all the objectives of the RT that have a USB device port. The USB key will be mapped to the target of RT U drive. The cRIO-9064 running the Linux RT operating system, so you will need to use the notation of oblique way. See this article for more details:

  • CAN the c series modules and drivers XNET and Ethernet expansion chassis cRIO compatibility issues

    Hello

I encountered a problem with my current setup which was not picked up by the tool advise cRIO or by the engineer of applications OR that we used to check our configuration before starting the project.  It turns out that the NI 9853 CAN modules require a XNET driver that is not compatible with the NI 9149 expansion chassis.

We currently have a system with a cRIO NI 9068 with general IO and some CAN controller and CAN open modules in a carrycot and an Ethernet NI9149 with more general IO expansion chassis and more CAN and CAN open an another pod remote modules and all of this should work under water, so I can not move the modules of the expansion chassis to the chassis controller without a lot of overhaul of the system and equip and a team of angry engineers and technicians.

I have developed the FPGA code for the 9068 OR and have CAN and CAN open networks works with happiness.  Then I tried to copy the same FPGA code on the expansion chassis and it compiles, but when I try to launch it I get the error-63184 code.  After long calls OR support, and tries to install the missing drivers on the expansion chassis, we discovered that XNET is not compatible with this chassis.

Can anyone suggest the best course of action?  Is there an expansion chassis Ethernet that will support XNET?  I have here no information online about this compatibility issue that I can't find?

I'll be communication with DIRECTLY, but from previous experience of the "odd" questions, I know the community often hold the key.  Any suggestions gratefully received.

    Thank you, Ed

It's official.  CAN open modules are not compatible with the expansion chassis.  I have them moved to RIO and will get the upgraded pods.

    Thank you

    Ed

  • not able to find the cRIO in maximum DHCP address lease ok.

Hello I have a cRIO OR installed for the first time that I have a question, adding to the measurement and automation Express (MAX)

    I did the following:

-i held the reset for 5 seconds button.

    -i got a tripple blink

-check that a DHCP lease was obtained by the RIO. (192.168.11.9/subnet 255.255.255.0)

-Pressed on the ' network devices NIDAQ find - ' nothing was found

-Manually entered the address above - nothing was found

    My configuration:

Could you please give me some advice on the next few steps, I could take to connect?

    Happy holidays

    Ivan

    Hi all

I found the cause of the issue, it is a bad combination of (old) driver NI DAQ and my camera.

I checked the compatibility of the driver and the device and discovered that I have a different driver from the old series of boards that for the University, we bought and missed me the cd drivers (who disappeared

I downloaded the new driver NIDAQ1400f1 (or something like that).

    Now it's working.

Thank you all for your answers.

@Valkoa: thanks for the reply unfortunately the camera isn't apperaing anywhere despite his success my router of a lease

  • Mode of scanning/FPGA for a CRIO by Veristand

    Hello!

I have a small error using my CRIO 9081 use with CAN communication, here's what I did:

    1. I use the CRIO with scan mode and customized it "Scan engine" and Ethercat for show my analog modules under VeriStand, it's ok

    2. I use the CRIO with FPGA Scan interface (together under Labview) to detect my modules CAN, also ok

3 - then I wanted to see the CAN and analog modules, so I use this page:

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/0DB7FEF37C26AF85862575C400531690

    And here's my problem:

with this method I am able to see the two modules with the custom device 'analytical engine and ethercat", which is really nice, BUT, impossible project VeriStand, the error message asking me to turn the chassis using FPGA, but then I lost the analog module...

So is it possible to run a project Veristand using both Scan and FPGA interface mode?

    Thank you very much

    Hi Vincent,.

When you tried to implement, you use the procedure described in the following document in the section use of Scan Engine and EtherCAT with NI 986 x custom device modules XNET ?

From what I remember, because you use a cRIO-9081, you will need to compile an empty bitfile for your target and place the controller in Mode FPGA hybrid mode on your chassis.

Could you post a screenshot of the error of deployment, you see?

  • How to read the status of User1 DIP-switch with a cRIO FPGA chassis?

How to read the State of the DIP switches on a FPGA cRio chassis?

I work with a cRIO 9022... My idea is to put the system in "service" mode with USER1 switch to IT and communicate with the FPGA via the FPGA - GUI (VI) on the host computer instead via the RT module that is used in normal conditions.

Any ideas? Unfortunately, I don't have an unused channel on the left... .and (as I know) cannot use the interface RS232 of FPGA.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Luke

Hi, this is the correct information. You cannot read the FPGA of DIP-switch status. The only thing you could do is to use the function of Reading Switch.vi located under the range of functions-> real-> utilities RT time

It's how you probably know side host RT and not the FPGA.

  • Stop the multiple loop without delay to the cRIO

    Hi all

the VI in cRIO has a large loop, it contains 4 small while in parallel to the work loop. In every little while, they have a stacked with a lot of frame sequence.
I want to stop everything with only one STOP button on my host live. But when I press STOP, I have to wait for all the small loops completed their charge and finally the big one can stop. Is there any solution to immediately end all?

    1. you should not have the large loop.  Which is just to add unnecessary complexity.

    2. you hit the major problem with the Structures of stacked sequence: everything must go before it is complete.  The solution is to use a State Machine.

  • Webcam USB on a cRIO

    Hi all

The vision platform again. I connected a webcam usb (2.0) until a cRIO 9035 and I would like to start collecting pictures of him. I do not see the camera displayed on the cRIO chassis as do the modules. Being new to this... where to start to actually start to talk to the camera and receive images?

    Thanks in advance!

Did you install IMAQdx and the subsidiary question for webcam support to 9035 himself? Once you do, the camera should appear under devices and Interfaces directly in MAX.

If you still don't see it, a possibility is that the camera is not compatible with the standard USB Video Class that supports IMAQdx. Most webcams are, but it is possible to find some that are supported only by custom drivers and therefore will not work.

  • cRIO-9074 ethercat with a switch/hub between the cRIO and slaves

Hi, I have a cRIO9074 I'll use 7 JVL EtherCat Mac800 motor control.  Engines are fairly spaced, so I use a switch of CU2005 EtherCat Beckhoff 5 ports between the readers and the cRIO with 2 motors in series on three legs and a motor on a port by itself.  My problem is that labview will not find all engines unless one of the ports on the switch motor is plugged, or a line of engine is connected directly to the port ethercat cRIO.  He has no problem see two engines on the same line, it just will not see one of them if more than one line of motor is connected to the switch ethercat.

    Thus, HALP!
