Critical applications

I noticed circulate many apps on the app store with tags like "Editor's choice" or "Essentials" However, it is unnecessarily difficult to find a complete list of these apps on the store, especially now that apple has marked these applications as tools and games, that everyone should have. I already did the research on this, but they don't give good detail, or are exceeded, sometimes both. I am particularly focused on find for Apple TV (4th Gen) because it confuses me how they have a collection called essential games, but some of them are tag editors choice or without tags at all. Also iPhone/iPad (since they are the largest used platforms and have roughly the same attributes). If there is no way to access it then if an apple employee sees this, please take with consideration.

-Thank you

P. S.

I I will talk about this later when I get a Mac and iPod Touch (for Mac/iPod app Essentials (if they even Mac applications))

  • Vista refuses to run critical applications

I am in a bit of an impasse, after being given Vista laptop from my brother and asked to try to fix a problem of bluetooth connectivity.  I asked him if his windows is up to date, and he said he turned it on autoupdate.  However, I see the angle icon indicating that the windows updates are available.

This is the root of my problem.  Try as I might to open windows update, it will not work.  The best I have is a blank window that flashes open and closes immediately.  Why this occurs, no error message, there is no indication of windows.  The same thing happens with several other applications, such as the application of the system in the control panel and the Properties window for the c: drive.

The computer is 2 months old and supposedly only installed external programs are mozilla and a single match.  I am at a loss as to why these applications are not really open.

  • Windows Vista update causes applications non - IE to be denied access to the internet

I have a laptop Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 unfortunately comes with a Windows Vista Home Premium OS that has caused me a lot of problems with conflicts between her and others, package applications, and now I am forced to use my network at home for route information and documents that must move through the internet by sharing them with another computer Windows XP which is also configured exactly as my Lenovo IdeaPad Y510. I look forward to wean myself off of all MS products, possibly other that MS Office, I use a lot and plays always well for me to wire many years and updates/upgrades. Not the same for MS Windows Vista, however. My experience, similar to many other forum users, has been constantly frustrating over the years I've had to deal with it.  I lost a lot of time dealing with problems caused by code errors in the last set of MS Windows Vista updates that made all my package applications that require internet access unusable.

I contacted the support of Lenovo and support forums for my problem, and they too cannot provide all the answers that address this issue that is causing me to spend much too much time I could use to work at a rate of $65 / hr, so you can see that this is not only an inconvenience.

Before someone points me to the myriad other similar positions for possible answers, let me say that I probably have alread read it and tried all the suggested actions, without success. I need to REAL answers and REAL support, and I need it NOW.  Also, I don't think I should have to pay for the support which has been made necessary by the negligence of MS to test their updates for compatibility issues with the popular, free package critical applications for the safety of MS OS system of a user, such as AVG Free antivirus, ZoneAlarm Free firewall personal , OR who are competitors for their navigation on the web or by email client applications. I am not now under the other another firewall that MS Vista firewall having had to uninstall my firewall ZoneAlarm Free. I even had one of my other previously compatible and effective anti-malware/spyware apps, AdAware, uninstall Lavasoft. No matter what I did, which was suggested to me by MS resources support or Lenovo support resources, this problem, which began shortly after the last round of all the months of downloads to fix security and facilities, persists and cost me more money in revenue and lost time every day.

  • Instrumentation of Java - Applications successful Capture

    Hello

    Question 1

I need help to identify why some requests are not captured by the Instrumentation of Java and a work around for the same thing.

I recently instrumented WebSphere application servers for a new Application. However, I am unable to see all the queries being captured in Java monitor - Custom - Applications

Here is the part of the file recording.config under Agent--> JavaEE properties. I guess "/ ^(GET|)". POST | REMOVE | HEAD | OPTIONS | PUT | "TRACK) /: false, ' prevents any random request to be captured.

I don't want to not configured these seizures for existing application servers, but when I am configuring new servers to applications, which should be the approach to take to ensure all critical applications are captured. At least until I fine tune this list. What can I assosciate the FilteringRules with a set of specific initially application servers?

    FilteringRules = {}

    /\. (gif |) GIF | GIF) $/: false,

    /\. (jpg: jpeg |) JPG | JPEG | Jpg | JPEG) $/: false,

    /\. (png |) PNG | PNG) $/: false,

    /\. (css |) CSS | CSS) $/: false,

    /\. (js |) JS | Js) $/: false,

    /\. (ico |) ICO | ICO) $/: false,

    /^(GET|_\/Account_POST) instruction$ /: true,

    /^(GET|_\/MegaCor\/ServiceServlet$/_POST): true,

    /^(GET|) POST | REMOVE | HEAD | OPTIONS | PUT | TRACK) /: false,

    /: /: false,

    };

Can someone explain in simple terms the changes and configurations that affect the capture of Java applications? All the latter found in recording.config or should I concentrate on other files too?

    Foglight environment

    FMS 5.6.4.2

    Java - 5.8.2 cartridge

Question 2 : update of Java Agent

We also have 5.7.1 agents on some application servers. In order to upgrade these agents, it's a simple matter to deploy the last cartridge on those servers and restart Application servers? I already copied the config files in the folder of JavaEE-compatibility under properties of the Agent. No custom configuration file have been deployed for these applications servers.

    Hello

For question 1: are you not see all the requests at all? The default filter settings are to capture HTTP/S and RMI/MDB called, in your case, it seems that someone excludes all GET/POST with the exception of 2 types of request (account statement and service servlet)

    /^(GET|_\/Account_POST) instruction$ /: true,

    /^(GET|_\/MegaCor\/ServiceServlet$/_POST): true,

    /^(GET|) POST | REMOVE | HEAD | OPTIONS | PUT | TRACK) /: false,

This could be due to the fact that too many requests was visible.

If you want to see other request types, you can add them to the list with a real flag or, in the meantime, you can just activate all get/post requests (set a filter just to get/post with true) and then decide what you want to add sepcifically.

Save the configuration file is the place to look, then you are in the right place.

For question 2: you look at the upgrade guide, he could change in some configurations require you to change some settings in the config file. When you upgrade to level the server the old configuration files are saved and former agents use the old config file, when you perform the upgrade on the client machines, you must make sure that the JavaEEDeplyomnetManager agent is running because it supports the upgrade. When you deploy the package to the new server of the JavaEEdeplyomentmanager agent retains the reference to the latest version. You will see in your deirectory of JavaEE, but agent differnet versions manager JavaEEdeplyoment retains the reference to the current so when you restart your JVM will the script to integrate it to the latest version. If you hard the "bootstrap" jar, and the jar in your startup script javaagent you must re manual integration and make sure that you reference the new jar file of xbootstrap as well as the new javaagent jar file.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to publish applications located on LAN users from the Internet

    Dear support.

I have a problem of security.

I have an application based on my local network, this app locally available by http. It is a critical application for the company.

For business reasons, we need access to internet users to access the application, read the data, push and load files and do other measures regarding the application.

My question is how can I give access to the main application for users from the internet to an application based on the local network?

There is a solution to ensure the scenario?

    Thank you

Well, there is rarely a "must" or "must not" such things.

Commonly accepted recommended is to use a DMZ. The server is reinstalled to a dedicated subnet where the only publicly accessible servers. You allow outside clients initiate traffic only to the appropriate ports and protocols on the web server and then enable the web server to initiate communication to internal resources through its service known and required profile.

There are all kinds of building measures additional can be taken. I would like to reiterate the secure application via demanding https instead of http traffic completely uncertain. It is a method. Others include things like using a 7 Web Application layer firewall in front of your server. This feature is available in the majority of the load balancers / application delivery controllers (such as Citrix Netscaler, F5 BigIP, etc.).

Maybe it's not practical for a small store without all of this existing infrastructure and only one application running on a single server, but you asked how large companies such as banks do. They use multiple layers of security with several points in the access, treatment and storage subsystems to implement defense in depth.

  • Z580 DyingHDD, windows 8.1

    Hello

I have a Z580 with a HARD drive that goes through a life ending experience. At present, it does not start. Although I salveged more data out of it, I want to start once more, in order to clone. I tried the repair tools, but they do not work. My repair disc refers to Windows 8, so this may explain why it does not work.

I have access to msdn Windows Installer 8.1. I tried to use it to do a reset, but the reset function provides the message "media inserted is not valid" even if it is the x 64 version of the disc. I am at a loss of how to proceed.

    Any suggestions?

How all he has not worked so far, I'm reluctant to do a complete reinstall until I got out of the BIOS product key, but all the notes that I find on this subject are running windows applications for this, clearly something I can't at the moment.

Regarding the replacement of the HARD disk, I can simply clone the HDD to work (assuming I have make it work) and then just replace it or is there anything else I need to worry. I browsed the forum but most of the debates seem to relate to the pre-Windows 8.1 operating system.

    Thank you

Thanks Len, it is logical, but it does not work like that. There is too much intermediaries and you must have exactly the right one. I did not, but he has not made a difference: the HARD disk was already too far gone. I could even install the new version of 8.1 on a new installation. Installation is dead 45% thru.

Went out this morning, for $110 CDN bought a new 1 TB drive, installed and did a new install. E-mail works like some other critical applications. Now, I need to find a way to get some of this stuff Lenovo back beautiful (especially liked the app mgmt of life of battery and want to rebuild the partition OKR). but that's for later. time to get back to work!

  • IMAQ Image in CVI operators

Hi, I'm using LabWindows/CVI 2010 with NI Vision and NOR-IMAQ libraries and map of CL 1427.

I would like to know how the Vision Development Module handles the imaqSubtract and imaqThreshold functions, are they run to the hardware or software level?  I wrote my own functions of subtraction using the address of the buffer for the image and the loops but you don't you 10 Hz compared to 30 Hz with imaqSubtract VDM functions.  Thank you!

    FeralPhys

Yes, they are handled in software on the host computer. The 1427 Camera Link adpater does not contain an FPGA, you can use for the treatment of the physical image. You can configure the driver to search for harware database (you can do this in Max and then save the file to the camera). But that's all. All features of Vision in CVI will run on the host computer.

If you are interested in processing equipment, the PCIe 1473R can do so by using its embedded FPGA, but you need LabVIEW FPGA to do programming.

It is more complex, but can be useful in critical applications at high speed.

  • Advanced management of errors

    Hi all

I develop a system to a LabView application extensive error handling, unfortunately I can't call his goal because of confidentiality.

I graduated just for my university degree in applied physics, and so I am quite experienced with LabVIEW (obtained in basic 1, 2 and 3).

The technique of synchronization used is a command producer/consumer queue manager. The test facility is to come out the following equipment:

    -Multimeter Keithley 2700

    -A Lock-in SR830 Stanford

-863 FT-Mercury (Controller Z-step, to go up and down)

    - NI DAQ 6244

    My Question is:

How can you ensure that you cover most of the errors with your application of error handling? What would be a good approach to find all possible errors that might occur during the measurement?

For example: I could unplug the K2700 and start the application, then a VISA error is more likely to occur. I could cut the power to the equipment and start the application and see what error would happen then.

Is there some sort of general rule to find the possible errors that may occur in the implementation?

Thanks for your response in advance.

    AHA! Found: https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-20726

I think it was the conception that I tried to find earlier because it gives information on the actual strategies for dealing with errors and to declare against just how over son of error and mistake General Manager.

In regards to your response, you must think about the grouping of sections of code and say to yourself "what would happen if an error occurs here. You will probably eventually identify the sticking points in your code (for example at the end of a case)

    A few examples:

-For initialization, if a device fails to initialize, you should try again and if so, how many times before giving up? Should allow the user try to reconfigure the device

-If you use a queue-based architecture and the reference is destroyed

You end up having to analyze your code and say "what to do if...?" a lot!

I think that mistakes boil until something like the following:

-Critical application errors: a Terminal mistake caused by a software bug such that accidentally release a reference to a primary. In this case you will need to close the software, but you should report or record some information to help you debug the issue remotely!

-Device errors: could not initialize, missing device, interruption of the connection, the incorrect configuration - software cannot work normally, but you may continue to try to re - initialize or allow the user to try to change the settings rather than quit the application.

-Errors, user: user a bad configured something like entered in an invalid path or by selecting a wrong file (type, format, etc.)-in this case, you should probably notify the user and let them try again.

-Known errors: errors that you expect may arise such as the creation of a folder that already exist - these would be generally ignored or dealt with in a case structure. Another example of this is mistakes on 'Close' subVIs in your output folder (the device could never be initialized or may have already closed)

You are never able to catch every single mistake (and it is not possible to see all the errors of a VI could produce, and you can generate your own mistakes), but you should try to handle correctly (& rectify) errors that are most likely to occur (such as loss of connection to a device because someone tripped over a serial cable) and leave the other errors to your general manager.

You also want to think about the experience for the end user of your software - something that the presentation link above mentions. Chances are that the average user is not going to be able to understand the error codes LabVIEW and is disappointed if the software just stops on launch because a device is missing.

There is no Holy Grail of error handling/reporting - it's something I'm always reading/learning and try to apply as much as I can in my applications!

  • an alarm can be set to control an external device using the digital output?

My employer is considering buying a 6210 DAQ and SignalExpress (we currently use a branded DATAQ device).

Looks like I can use the alarm function SignalExpress to define a logic high or low line, controlling a SSR to stop a pump (a non-critical application).

Can I use SignalExpress in this way?

I know LabView can do, but there is no way that the company appears for him.

  • E/s digital USB-6008 changes when the system starts

I was intending to use the USB-6008 housing in a critical application in which the digital I/o lines are used to trigger relays.  The relay should activate when I ask them programmatically.  Otherwise, they must remain open.  The problem is that during a reboot of the operating system, the e/s digital USB-6008 go up and down several times - opening and closing my relay.  It is not acceptable for my application.

Is it possible to prevent the lines to reach logical high except if ordered to do so?

There is no way to set the startup on the 6008 States.

As the system USB boot devices and turns on power to the computer and off the power to the USB ports, on the DIO lines go up and down several times.

You will need to put a logic of material extra, just after data acquisition to ensure that potentially dangerous output combinations cannot affect the relay and the elements they control.

I am relatively new to LabWindows, and up to now, this has not been a problem, but now I write several critical applications of the time, it is. Simply, I need to find a way to put around the problem stop Timers reminders while manipulating panels - moving etc. My thoughts were if I could ecapsulate reminders of the timer in their own thread, this could solve that problem, but not sure if it of the simplest solution or how really has to implement.

If I take the example of a simple stopwatch. I would not be concerned if the stopwatch mistletoe continues to update, if the Panel is currently handling - it's just that when it is released, the timer records the exact time and didn't tick right on the point where it has been frozen.

    Hi girl Lake of gold,.
-The problem only occurs with these games?
-Don't you make changes to your computer before the problem?

There are a few steps you can try:

    Step 1:

Perform the scan SFC . The tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker scans missing or system corrupted files and repairs them.

    Step 2:

If this doesn't help, you want to put your machine in a clean boot State in order to determine whether any third-party application is causing the problem to occur.

    Step 3:

If the above two steps are little help, you could create a new user account and check.
If it works fine in the new user account, you would want to fix the damaged user account .
