Crucial 128 GB M4 + BSOD Thinkpad T400

Just traded my old Samsung SSD with no TRIM for a Crucial M4 128 GB.

It was very good, so I left it overnight installing drivers.

The next day, I started to install all my apps and I was getting BSOD all the time.

Anyone have any ideas? its alignment, sound in AHCI and TRIM is activated and on the last Firmware 0009

I have disabled LPM now and I'll see if that helps, its amazing how much faster the SSD is, he almost ignores the Welcome screen

It's just a shame he tops out at 280 MB/s because of the SATA2

I put my Thinkpad T400 hibernation, but the next morning I couldn't start. When I press the power button, the lights under the screen turn on and I hear the sound of the hard drive and get it out. I don't even see anything on the screen. It is only black. The process continues to repeat in a loop, except if I press the power button to turn off.

I tried the static load, remove the thing.

I also removed the hard drive, put it back again, but not working anymore.

  • ThinkPad t400 not turn on!

    Help!

I just poured the water on my thinkpad a little water just for fun, but when I turned it on, it does not fuel upward!
    I'm sobbing on this loss.
I thought that my thinkpad had also the drainage holes.

    Please help, please help!

    Hi all
IT'S MY EXPERIENCE THAT IS POURING WATER ON MY T400.
I got to pour the water on purpose on my Thinkpad T400.
I'm very young but I just removed the four screws of ram and also removed a screw of keyboard as well.
I opened the lid, and then I removed the touchpad. Then, I also removed the keyboard. I noticed the water entered the cooling fan and I also found water near the Intel Core 2 Duo processor. I also found water near the hard drive and in the custody of the enclosure, so I removed the Panel silver inside the laptop. I also removed the CD player. I let it dry under a FAN (I did not use a hair dryer, as this may damage the components. Then I put everything back up 3 minutes.i lit .he not even turning on, instead, I hear 1 beep, 3 beeps, 3 beeps 1 beep. I surfed on the internet and found that the error means that RAM is not correct or there is a problem. I still once reassembled RAM as it was before (I changed the arrangement before that caused this error).
Then, to my surprise I saw Thinkpad on screen and the Windows XP operating system started to load!

I checked if I had connected the keyboard and the mouse properly. Everything was fine.
    I LOVE MY THINKPAD.

You can use this method, BUT be extremely careful you don't have static electricity.

    Kind regards
    Chris

  • How to upgrade to windows 7 on Thinkpad T400?

I brought the Thinkpad T400 in 2008, I want to run windows 7. I know that I need to update my BIOS to activate windows 7. I'm going to buy a windows 7 at BestBuy, is it OK?

can someone tell me the steps? Thank you very much.

My Thinkpad T400 is CTO of 2764

    Intel Core 2 Duo P8400, 2261 MHz

    ATI Radeon HD3400

    BIOS:

    Version: 7UET43WW (1.13)

    Date: 08/19/2008

    SLIC:

    Version: 2.0

    PubKey: LENOVOTP-7U

    Marker: LENOVOTP-7U

The SLIC table is only important for Windows pre-installed.

Buy Win7 and install it on your computer. Activate it on the internet after all the drivers are installed and working properly. After that drag an image of your HARD drive as a backup to an external drive.

  • New Thinkpad T400 is not start the system

    Hello world

I received my new Thinkpad T400 a month ago, product ID 2764CT 0. I told my computer to the hibernate after that the battery power is 5% of its capacity. I forgot to put the computer off last night and this morning, when I plugged the power cable has tried to turn on the computer, it wouldn't boot. The screen is completely turned off and would not turn on no, I know that the computer is turned on, because I can feel hot air coming out of the vent in the heat. 'Z' light was turned on, but the computer does not respond. Except for the CD player, no contribution has no effect on the computer.

Can I call customer service for this problem, or is there a way to fix it myself?

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, my thinkpad would not even start up. There is no video, and he wouldn't respond to all entries. It has a Z (the Z letter in a circle) light on, but other than that, it doesn't work.

Seems it's time to get it in service from lenovo, give them a call.

  • ThinkPad T400 WiMAX mystery!

I can see in the BIOS there is a WiMAX listed adapter (this is the ThinkPad T400 (2768-AD3)) and on the Lenovo support page / drivers section for the same exact model list: Intel WiMAX 6250 AGN and Intel Wireless 5150 WiMAX, but during the installation of the people, it is said:... .no WiMAX adapter was detected on your computer. It is possible to proceed with the installation, but nothing happens. So I'm a little confused here, she actually WiMAX adapter or does not?

Some machines shipped with WiMax / it's a snap accessory optional - just like webcam, fingerprint reader, etc. It's just like having the owner of the car of the manual. Even if you have purchased only the base model with a tape recorder there could be instructions for a CD player, CD changer, navigation system.

Then the result was that on the left side,

vertical bars (for cooling) has been broken.

Really, I cherish my Thinkpad I really wish she was fixed.

This can be corrected? or do I have to replace the whole Panel?

I wouldn't worry much; I broke things on my T400 a long time earlier.

  • My ThinkPad T400 does not start!

Honestly, I have no idea what could have caused this!

I turned it on this morning & it was stuck on the startup screen. It read "ThinkPad" in big letters followed "To interrupt normal startup upward, press the blue ThinkVantage button." Waited about half an hour for him to start & it never did. Of course I pressed the ThinkVantage button & to my dismay... nothing happened. Subsequently, I have unplugged it & removed the battery. I then plugged it back in & tried to start again. Once again, nothing. I unplugged it new & attached to the battery. At this point, I tried to go back to the top and N O T H I N G!

    What should I do?

Take a look at your usb ports, there could be some sort of pins to touch, as a result of the damaged usb pins.

  • ThinkPad T400 screen broken

It is a CCFL Backlight, which is easier to find than a LED backlight. A panel of a T400, R400 14.1 "or 14.1" widescreen T61/R61 will fit. With T400/R400, you must be sure to get one with a CCFL Backlight. You can use a (1280 X 800) WXGA or WXGA + (1440 X 900) display.

  • T400: randomly turns off

    Hey everybody!

    First time poster here!

I've recently updated my Lenovo ThinkPad T400 with a Crucial M500 (240GB SATA SSD 7 mm) and 8 GB of RAM Kit (PC3-8500 DDR3 NON - ECC).

After a few days of trail and error, I finally installed (successfully, I might add) Windows 7 via USB. I leave my laptop on when I SLEEP, but in the morning she is cut off. When I power it on I get the windows is not stopped correctly and I always choose the option "Start Windows normally" and, in addition, Google Chrome informs me that it was not closed correctly and restores my tabs.

I have no idea why it randomly closed OFF... ideas?

Also, when I try to run my noting system after one or two flashes of the screen than my laptop turns off, so I'm unable to do this as well.

  • Memory brand T400s?

I ordered a T400s today with 2 GB DDR3 module. I would like to order a 4 GB SODIMM from Newegg. Does anyone know the brand of memory that comes with this model, for example, Crucial, Corsair, etc.? Part number would be ideal as I could match the latency.

The brand is Elpida.  On the SODIMM is:

    2GB 2Rx8 PC3 - 8500 S-7-10-F1

    Another forum someone uses Kingston:
    http://LNV.lithium.com/LNV/board/message?board.ID=T400_series_ThinkPads&thread.ID=13932&view=by_date...

    Kingston DDR3 SO-DIMM of HyperX 1066 MHz 2 x 2GiB (KHX8500S3ULK2 / 4G)

According to this photo Lenovo SODIMM uses memory Hynix fleas:

    http://www.ThinkPads.com/wp-content/Gallery/ThinkPad-T400s-upgrading/lenovo_thinkpad_t400s_ram-close...

There are different options for the reference numbers even, you want to G7:

    G7 DDR3-1066 7-7-7

    http://www.Hynix.com/products/module/module_sub.jsp?menuNo=1&m=1&s=1&menu3=01&RK=20&SK=so&RAM_NAME=D...

Reference No.. Number of the org. Vol. Réf. fast DRAM product status
    HMT351S6AFR8C x 64 1.5V 8 K Ref./64ms G7/H9 x 16 mass production

    HMT451S6MMR8C x 64 1.5V 8 K Ref./64ms S6/G7 x 8 mass production

Since the T400s use him Mobile Intel GS45 Express Chipset that supports only 1033 (as opposed to 1333 which is Hynix H9 speed) it is the way to go.

This seems to be the right crucial part #:

  • T400 connection to TV

Hello. I have a ThinkPad T400.that has 3 USB ports, 1 firewire, VGA and audio 3.5.

I also have a TV that has the following text

2 HDMI, 1 port (shared with component) USB, RF, Composite, component of the Digital Audio Out (Coaxial s/PDIF)

I'm new TV connection and laptop, so I have no idea what these things mean. I want to be able to connect the laptop to the TV sometimes display presentations powerpoint or screenshare other presentations and maybe see the netflix and hulu.

I searched the internet for instructions on how to connect these two but I find a lot of contradictory information. What types of cables or converters do I need to share the audio AND video? I think that maybe the answer is a combination of 2 cables. A VGA to component and composite out headphones. Is there a reason that HDMI must be involved in the process?

Antone who succeeded in this regard, please teach me how. Thank you for your time.

Well, I finished just buy another TV. I made sure to read the box to see she had a VGA input and a PC to TV, audio port. It was easier that trying to understand on the connectors, I would need and if the sound will work correctly.

Thanks for the ideas so. At least I'll know what things to try if I decide to use the laptop with another TV.
